Because IMO the best way, would be possibility of minning only by GPU.

All currently strong coins were pumped a lot. Including the BTC.
And the number of investors who entered and only met the coin by the pumps, it is that keeps them alive is always in the media.
It is precisely the pump'n'dump which makes them popular and say what really coin has a future or not. A good currency survives any pump&dump unharmed. And each wave of pump, achieves a higher level in the price.
The coins that do not recover is because they present a fault.
To believe that a currency will naturally get anywhere without a hype is naivety.
Pum'n'dump groups do not attract just money, also attract all the media spotlight which is also with them.
C'mon John, listen to what Dave Wilkinson said and go a little to the dark side. Or at least the gray side. We NEED hype.
There is no harm in like money and make your project grow really.

And about the official thread, no one on bctalk likes moderate threads, it looks like something from those who want to manipulate investors.
We all know it was created by fud from other communities, but it is not well seen. A good currency as VNL does not need that to show that the fud is a lie.

Yup same here, although my faith remains, a timeline of 6 months in crypto is very long. I'm not saying that I doubt John will pull it off, but to hold for 6 months without any significant milestones to look for short time is something I won't risk. I definitely will be buying back, but sittin this one out till February or so. I guess you were not on IRC today. Something is in pipe for much sooner but as always john-connor doesnt want to make any hype from that just like we can see on other 'projects' so I also don't won't be the one who will start it. too late hype hype hype !!! Why this coin is not with the other big coin projects? technically is amazing, is fast and eficient, distribution was fair, why is community so small then?
That's the million dollar question. I've been wondering that for so long. My guess is the reason being that crypto doesn't currently move because of real work or innovation, but because of hype, fad and manipulation. If you like the coin, you are welcome to become an investor  Factom is the best example right now. you know what, this good guy no hype no manipulation attitude in crypto gets you nowhere. 5btc volume daily. it might be time to join the dark side john, if you truly are invested at a large percentage. might be time to place some large buy walls, create some hype, and deliver. it would only put you on par with what the rest of crypto is doing, volume gets attention & recognition. You're right, it attracts ppl attention. Even if they became a bagholders they wouldn't be worry, because they have great coin, which can became sometnig huge in the future. VNL will be pumped for sure, but everyone here awaits VNL will be as strong as Dash or LTC. |

Due to the holiday season and taking five extra weeks to rewrite major portions of 0.4.x we must extend the timeline by 60 days, therefore we will rename it 6-month timeline and it will end around the last of March 2016.
Update regarding current outstanding items.
iOS and Android will be submitted this week. We have one darknet application already built, working and code is in Github. ChainBlender is making timely progress. The following items have been completed:
Core perfromance, scalability and security. √
Extended RPC support. √

I think that's a bad idea imo. People don't like moderated threads as much. If you think bitcointalk is too toxic, people will eventually come to talk.vanillacoin.net once new features are released and when/if marketing comes.
This thread being moved to the top with 284 pages is an ad for VNL. If it's removed, we will lose all of the traffic it generates, which is 328926 views so far (not unique). People will eventually find their way to other forums if their interest is piqued. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate. The OP has a bunch of links to your github, talk.vanillacoin.net, IRC, etc. and the one your official thread is right at the top.
I don't believe censoring the thread will do any good. Once others can understand how the features of the coin are useful, that's when they will buy. The FUD doesn't really do anything negative to the price imo. People here are mostly looking for a quick buck and we haven't made inroads to anyone with a lot of influence in the BTC world yet, aside from the Roger Ver like of Bitcoin Dad's tweet.
The official Vanilla(coin) project team members disagree, it's an advertisement of people talking moon and dump regarding false, inaccurate and outdated information, this thread no longer has any positives left and is a turn off for any new investor. If you are in for a "quick buck" go buy a shitclone because Vanilla is not going to give a short term gain (fact). There are plenty of other options for these types of people out there. Lastly, Roger Ver liking Bitcoin Dad's tweet is irrelevant. It was nothing more than a hype/pump situation that was short lived. Go ask Roger Ver at the bitcoin forums what he really thinks. He is open to questions (I should know), the only problem is people do not ask him but instead wait for a random tweet. This means there are no soldiers on the ground. If there is no branching out from BCT then Vanilla won't go very far adoption-wise. Thank you for your support. Do you rally bother you, what happends on this thread. It's about to be added since august.  Unless you are CEO of btc38 you don't know shit. The thing with those exchanges is that they will not add a coin unless there is stable, high volume or you pay them. Truth is that you can send as many requests as you want, it's not going to make a difference.  Maybe after the next updates VNL will gain some momentum and they will add it. If you're so fucking wise, tell me why they add tagcoin, worldcoin, megacoin or digitalcoin in 2013. ..... I guess you don't know, so I gonna tell you.... trusted developer with real ideas for his coin/project. |
