excuse me, but how often is the reward paid out for supernodes?

You should avg around 1 - 2 per day across your nodes, but look at your rewards over a month.  One day you might get 0, the next you might get 5.

retweet:

@ErikVoorhees @ShapeShift_io Why haven't you added the only altcoin that only needs 1 conf on @Poloniex? Means Polo judges it the safest alt

you forgot to say that the coin is vanilla.
He may think that you're talking about viacoin, the logo is the same.

They can see from my profile and they were looking at VNL in the past when we had more volume.

Feel free to tweet them or others anything you want, the way you want to say it.  If you tweet at them and mention another feature, that might even be better at getting their attention.

i did, thanks

excuse me, but how often is the reward paid out for supernodes?

It can fluctuate between as low as 0 and as high as ?  .  I have seen 4 on a "lucky" day.

i already got 9

Why this coin is not with the other big coin projects? technically is amazing, is fast and eficient, distribution was fair, why is community so small then?

That's the million dollar question. I've been wondering that for so long. My guess is the reason being that crypto doesn't currently move because of real work or innovation, but because of hype, fad and manipulation. If you like the coin, you are welcome to become an investor Smiley

To simplify, there are no pumpers here and no one faking large volume.  Rising prices cause excitement and fear of being left behind (happens less now than a year or two ago) and volume gets coins to the top of Poloniex, etc.  We're not paying to be in any articles either, but I'm not sure exactly how much that helps, aside from the Forbes and Reason articles on ETH.

Also, the community isn't that small.  We have 90+ IRC members in the channel at the same time, john's tweets get retweeted way more than any other altcoin dev's tweets aside from ethereum, and a large amount of senior member+ bitcointalk members post in here.  A half-million dollar market cap (#56) is nothing to sneeze at, but we should be competing with Dash, which is 30x (3000%) higher.

I do think chainblender could bring some more awareness to VNL.  We'll see.

the 8btc buy support is a little unsettling, perhaps because of the delays.

will we see a better price, before real world adoption?

without getting into specifics and techy details, all we have is a bitcoin semi-clone with a fast transactions, its how this can be used in real world, will determine the real price.

You could spend all your time suping up a car, adding larger engine, lighter weight and bigger turbos, but at the end of the day, without a direction to drive, its just a waste of time and money.

we need a clear direction and path.

Figuring out how to do zero conf transactions is a MAJOR problem Bitcoin is trying to come up with (centralized) solutions for.  Bitcoin also is trying to decide whether to raise block size and is having problems with that.

Right now, the VNL network can process 100 transactions/second on-chain (15x BTC) and 15,000 tx/sec off-chain (3x Visa's daily peak tx rate)

The purpose is to be the decentralized alternative to Bitcoin, while Bitcoin will continue to centralize.  Also, anonymity might attract others.

Of course, ultimately you're correct.  People need a reason to buy the coin.  For now, the reason is speculation, like all other crypto, and to be part of something that might revolutionize how payments are made/funds are transferred/how we connect.  And again, there's no real reason to hold dash, yet it's market cap is 30x ours.

I see it a slightly different way.

Any serious investor in Crypto will invest in BTC because this is the only likely cryto to be the first mass-adopted currency. It already supports a mining and exchange industry.

Speculating on a coin like VNL at this point in time is speculating on 1 of 2 things.

1: Pump scenario
Like any fad coin or marketed coin. We already know this is not the mandate of the development team, so you'd have to be stupid to be investing/speculating in this scenario. We may be lucky and some entity believes they can mimic the outcomes of DASH & ETH, but again the odds are against us here at this point in time.

2: Mass adoption scenario
Bitcoin further succeeds and adopters willingly seek more robust alternatives. This is not currently happening but this is where the development team is positioning itself.

My main questions to John C are: How long are you willing to stick with this project, and what would make you give up on it? This is as much transparancy I can ask for to protect my investment.

Factom is the best example right now.

you know what, this good guy no hype no manipulation attitude in crypto gets you nowhere. 5btc volume daily.

it might be time to join the dark side john, if you truly are invested at a large percentage.

might be time to place some large buy walls, create some hype, and deliver.

it would only put you on par with what the rest of crypto is doing, volume gets attention & recognition.

You're right, it attracts ppl attention. Even if they became a bagholders they wouldn't be worry, because they have great coin, which can became sometnig huge in the future.
VNL will be pumped for sure, but everyone here awaits VNL will be as strong as Dash or LTC.

is this true?

john-conner's project, Vanillacoin (VNL), includes a significant amount of reformatted and, at best, lightly-edited Bitcoin code which has illegally and unethically had its attribution and copyright notices removed. In addition, he describes Vanillacoin as written "from scratch in its entirety", a false, misleading, and fraudulent claim that is being used to promote his coin. Given that this shows dishonesty, low credibility, and willingness to engage in unethical conduct, extreme caution is advised.

you so sound like the monster user

"John's code is legit. We implemented a lot of RPC calls together while in IRC, he basically coded while I was waiting for the update etc and it all worked out very well. ZeroTime and much other features like the FPGA bitstreams, the GUI wallets etc are unique to VNL. Furthermore the code is all in C++ instead of C."

Yup same here, although my faith remains, a timeline of 6 months in crypto is very long. I'm not saying that I doubt John will pull it off, but to hold for 6 months without any significant milestones to look for short time is something I won't risk. I definitely will be buying back, but sittin this one out till February or so.

BLA BLA BLA

After all that was overdiscussed 888 times you are asking this again!?! And than we wonder why john-connor is trying to move from this forum!?!
I mean asking valid questions is ok but repeating sometheng which was proven as FUD from those who feels threatened by this project is worse than FUD. It's toxic behaviour.
And some 'suporters' asking how long John will stay with his project after he invested one part of his life in the Vanilla project!?!
Toxic behaviour nothing else.
