201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - 2n Gen. CryptoCurrency build from SCRATCH on NODE.JS - NEW CODE! on: November 01, 2014, 02:09:40 PM
To continue to rise up

I have a feeling this is a staged dump to allow the purchase of cheap NODE

Or people just have lost interest and moved on...
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 31, 2014, 07:31:06 PM
even if you call this an ipo then what type of an investor you are if you do not check your investment?

Exactly, I have some shares (I mean non-crypto shares).
I check the prices everyday and I check news about companies at least once a week (but mostly more often).

As you've noted NEM is not IPO, but if it would and someone is not checking the status, he shouldn't be called investor, but a fraudster.

What a ridiculous statement.  Roll Eyes

There were many people who bought hundreds or even thousands BTC from 2009-2011 and did in fact forget about it or didn't follow the price fluctuations on a daily basis until BTC started reaching new ATH's and making headlines. Once BTC started to gain some mainstream attention, those same people said "Wait Bitcoin, I think I bought some of those a couple of years ago, let me check."

For those people the same amount of BTC was still in their wallets, providing they could access them (i.e. didn't throw out the hard drive/PC that held them).  It's not like the total number of BTC reduced by 25%, 50% then 75% after each month that passed.

Is it not possible that some people thought that NEM looked like a promising project back in January or February, threw some BTC at it while it was extremely cheap (less than 1 BTC) than simply said I'll check back in 6 to 12 months and see if it's worth claiming or worth anything?  I would think that has happened at least a few times. Part of being a long term investor is not checking the price on a daily basis and just believing that project/company itself has a promising future.

Some people have lives that don't allow them the free time to post on BTT on a daily basis. Most accounts here on BTT (roughly 99%) that are active on a daily basis are newbies, day traders, sockpuppets, scammers, fraudster and charlatans. NOT INVESTORS.  Anyone who thinks otherwise in beyond naive.

Come up with a reasonable solution to deal with unclaimed stakes.  Don't redistribute them to other investors. Don't keep them for yourselves to help develop NEM.  And don't reduce the number someone bought regardless of how active or not active they are.  Those stakes still belong to them and that's how it should remain.  They should be able to claim them whenever they want period.  No other solution is reasonable.  You can still launch NEM, it's not like unclaimed stakes are holding back the process.

All other decisions regarding unclaimed stakes are driven by greed and nothing else, which is the opposite if what attracted me to this community to begin with.

How this distribution is dealt with will determine whether or not I'll remain interested in NEM longterm.

Blaa blaa, how that "investor" tought that he will have those NEM transfered to him if he didnt pay any attention. Poorly made effort compare with BTC, after launch you could so so but not now
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 31, 2014, 07:27:58 PM

The truth is it doesn't matter what we do. People will come and say it was unfair we didn't give them enough time and we hare literally Hitler. It's frustrating but that how btt works. Time to leave btt and completely communicate over forum.nemcoin.com.

You might want to take a look at what happened to NEOS after it did something similar.

Why don't we table this discussion over redistribution (which is what this is all essentially about, let's face it - that's why it's so contentious) to after the launch - it's damaging NEM's brand as a refuge from all the other altcoin crap out there, and it's hurting the price.

its not this discussion thats hurting the price, its one whale that had a spontaneous urge to crap all over the market like a rhino with the shkithers..

It's been sliding for 7 straight days:
http://coinmarketcap.com/assets/nemstake/
Doesn't look like the actions of a single whale. Coincides roughly with the resumption of this talk over redistribution.

If you look up, you will be blind if you dont notice how couple of accounts are playin with market. Im happy that we are going to launch soon to get rid of been tied with NXT AE.

Hopefully AE could be more effecient market place without large whales. I mean many of those "assets" seems to share certain similarities with ponzis.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: October 30, 2014, 04:19:13 PM
If you guys can pull yourself away from a personal argument Can I make a suggestion for unclaimed stakes?

I recently have been impressed by NXTTY and see a massive potential for mobile messaging linked with cryptocurrency. Why not keep a good sized chunk separate so someone can create an app similar to NXTTY that uses NEM. You can air drop them into accounts or maybe people get a share when they download the app etc.

It's better than creating another currency ontop of NEM for an app like this and it has massive potential if popular to supercharge NEM and it's uptake.

Good idea?

If nxxty is ok, why copy or making things twice - we should try to cooperate as long as both sides can generate advantage

Oh the irony of a NEM supporter saying this.

He is right.

Nxtty is not just an app that runs on NXT.

It will be an app that will accept other coins like Bitcoin. It will create a marketplace within the app. If the NEM community joins this wonderful adventure, maybe we can create something inside the Nxtty environment that will benefit NEM as well.

The devs of Nxtty worked months and months to create this app. It's a waste of time to create something similar. We can unite and fight against the same competition.

I didn't know they were developing trading of other coins...first I've heard of it.

Not just trading other coins, but spending them to buy stuff.

Or Tip awesome posts. Send them to a friend.

A desktop version will be launched as well.

Just a pity that all devices cant download yet as a lot of people try to download but cant.....I suppose the devs couldnt wait any longer to launch.  I dont think its going to be long though.....for iphones, ipads etc to be able to download.

I think 2-3 weeks left for iPhone/iPad launch.

And propably there arent even demand for such an app like nxtty, who knows. There are hundreds different message-apps, so i would check how this one succeed for first.

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PoS+PoW] eXocoin [EXO]-gen 2.0- dev. from scratch! Give-Away | Open Beta on: October 29, 2014, 09:55:27 AM
Well I'll be damned... eXo really gonna launch this month? That would be something...

Curious to see where it will go. It has a whole different vibe to it then other ICO's because this is one was way earlier. Just look at the average investor, most are >senior.

Exocoin will be quite interesting. Hopefully devs has developed full and final package and done it well, not unlike those like NODE and others which just released unworking client without usage.

The launch will come soon, so are we going to see a marketing campaign or something special to get more people involved?

208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 20, 2014, 08:54:31 PM
NEM BETA IS FINALLY HERE!  Cool

IT'S NEM TIME: https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2546.msg6923#msg6923

Heck yeah!!  Grin
Where does this put us for official launch?

Lets get party started !!

Feel sorry for the guys who just sold their stakes via AE  Embarrassed
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 19, 2014, 04:56:03 PM
I am leaning towards agreeing with everyone that this discussion should probably just be left alone. It seems like there are quite a few who do think we should change the total amount of coins, but I think that decision will ultimately undermine investor confidence, at least in the short-term. Long term, it really could go either way, but I think that the effects would be so minimal that risking short-term investor confidence is too much of a risk for a very minimal long-term gain (if any).

After thinking about it carefully for a significant amount of time since this discussion came about, I have come to the conclusion that the risk to reward ratio for this decision is simply not good enough for me to be able to support any changes.

Stick with the original plan!

As you can see from the member list i didnt bought in, i just got free stake.  Grin

I just come here to check how delusional people can be, people here attacking everyone who dare say anything negative about NODE.

I provided arguments why it is needless to do a marketing right now. You are just writing bold statement like "This coin will be dead soon" only because devs didn't impress you enough?

Are they in school? Do you have proofs of it? One more bold statement once again and so on. There is name for it - FUD.

Instant transactions is amazing thing, plus we will get unique POA system soon.

Launch without desent POA and linux client was not a best solution, I agree with you on that. But it doesn't mean that it is over and coin is done. Devs were at difficult position: wheather to delay lauch even more or do what they did. I think they chosen better option. Because otherwise we would get even more dissatisfaction from people who bought stackes at auction.

And you just coming here to calm down yourself that you did a right thing and dump it. Hoping node would never go up. IMO.

Edit: Sorry I was wrong. Actually you still holding your stake. How come? Do you like holding shit-coins? This coin will be dead soon! Dump while you can!

I dont need to dump because i dont need pennies at the moment. Of course there is a still small changes that NODE will go 10x up.

How funny are the Pro-NODE guys Cheesy they know that launch was mistake and the coin at the moment aint worth of shit. What after POA ? Nothing i bet. dev team are just some school boys from eastern europe and people who bought the last stakes will never gonna see their money again. Not every IPO can be winner, better luck for the next time.

This coin will be dead soon

Still crying? How much did you lost? Bought at 0.0000013 and then sold at 0.0000004?

As you can see from the member list i didnt bought in, i just got free stake.  Grin

Why isn't there any more exchanges yet? Where are the giveaways? Where is the marketing? This is absolutely ridiculous. The devs need to grow up and start being responsible. You haven't even released the source yet, so we have no idea if this is actually node based or if it's just a clone. Get your act together, a lot of people have put faith and money into your project and it's time to start being adults about it. You should be doing daily updates, progress reports every 3 days and generally being more bloody active. Your mother in law arriving means you couldn't take 5 minutes to let people know on the forum? And no, this isn't FUD, this is the truth, I'm an original stakeholder and have tried to support node as much as I can on twitter, facebook and at bitcoin meetups and nodejs meetups, and I'm starting to get sick of how the devs are treating the community like sh*t.

More exchanges? It has 1 BTC daily volume on BTER why do it need more exchanges??

POA isn't even ready yet, blockchain showing only sent/received transactions, source is not published, nodepay is not ready, why do it need marketing? What are you going to advertise? Your greed?

So you are a great supporter of NODE? Why I don't see you name in the tester list then?

If something of someone is absolutely ridiculous here it is you. Just dump it and stop crying or do something useful instead of posting here shit and showing your greed.

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 16, 2014, 12:48:56 PM
uhm...but after the official release, does NEM can be traded directly with BTC?

no one know the answer to this question? Sad

Hmm if am i right NEM will be trading on Poliniex after official launch

10 users for testing
Where TaunSew,  Simakki that so much worry about the NODE
This is the true face of community

And where are the rest ? Nobody gives a damm about this shitcoin. I tried to raise my concerns, but devs seems to have something better to do and with fanboys like greendude it is impossible to have decent conversation. Those morons who believe that someone is manipulating the price, get a grip! My predictions future predictions: spot #122 in cmc after a month and project dismissed by devs in december.

Lol. Angry trolls.. that is new.

He just likes to talk with himself  Tongue

LOL  Cool You guys still believe that NODE will surge in next few months? Probability for that could be something like 5% None buyers nor usage for this coin at the moment. I really hope that POA will bring the difference, but i highly doubt that.

Please tell me why an earth NODE will skyrocket or even soar in cmc ? There is already bunch of similar coins with big communities, hype and innovations over NODE.

Whole idea about some NODEbank is naive. Would you deposit your hard earned dollars to eastern european bank whose owners barely speak English? And from the marketing point of view NODE's PR and marketing havent been either accurate or convincing.

POA seems to be hasty effort to have some forging mechanism and for me it is kind odd that developers doesnt had made that before the launch.

Because the way NEM did or do the things is the correct one? Lol. The cryptobible

I dont see how anyone can argue about which one has been more succesfull at the moment. IMHO NODE must do something to escape for doom.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - 2n Gen. CryptoCurrency build from SCRATCH on NODE.JS - NEW CODE! on: October 14, 2014, 01:21:22 PM
TEST Start is october 20 , When is available ?
it depends how test goes

this mean 1 week
1 mont

or

even 1 yearh or what (when it goes bad)?

how long the test will about go?

As long as it takes. Learn some patience.

Hmm i think NODE holders have had a lot of patience, but the launch was total disaster. They should have the POA already in the launch..... Market cap #97 and no marketing for months....
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 12, 2014, 09:05:05 AM
To calm this discussion down.
We are discussion the option to redeem stakes longer than we had planed and even after launch but for a fee as solix suggested.
Meaning the longer the people fail to redeem the fewer NEM they get. What they don't get goes into development, marketing and whatnot.
It will not be a year. Are you guys delusional ? I'm sorry i don't mean to be disrespectfull but that's pure insanity. A year ? What value could those people  be to NEM if they only care to check in every year ?

Seems like a good compromise - would also suggest putting the deadline (the deadline before the fee starts being applied) in the title and OP of all NEM threads. Make it as hard as possible for those who don't claim to ever say they were treated unfairly, didn't know and couldn't have known without digging through tons of NEM posts/threads.

patmast3r your idea sounds like an OK compromise. These people who forgot about their stake could bring a lot of value to NEM. Can you imagine the story about the guy who forgot his stake and was a millionaire (or it if was worth 10K + USD)? Just like the really early Bitcoin millionaires who forgot about their coins Smiley We want to make NEM something positive and I believe this includes giving people positive experiences like discovering they are rich from their old, forgotten NEM stake! Personally I would support a year or more - as by my logic if someone has purchased something (a NEM stake) it does belong to them - no matter when they decide to claim it.

I fear a negative backlash when "Joe average" goes to redeem his forgotten NEM stake and discovers he has nothing! Ethically it is wrong. Compare this to the stories of the early Bitcoin adopters who forgot they had some coins stashed away and made hundreds of thousands / millions in fiat. When NEM becomes huge this will bring down a shitstorm upon NEM if old early adopters can't claim their stakes - you have all been warned Wink

If anyone here is worried about early NEM adopters claiming their stakes and "cashing them in" you are showing that you don't believe the NEM ecosystem can handle some sell offs in the future, and therefore don't really believe in the potential of NEM Tongue

EDIT: This is the last I'll say on the topic - but when NEM is huge and all the old early supporters come out to claim their stakes don't blame me when NEM crashes and burns from a public backlash, instead of rising even higher from all the awesome stories of the old adopters who are now NEMilllionares Wink Your thinking is backwards and NEM will suffer because of it.

I see where you are coming from but I think you're forgetting that those funds could be used for spreading NEM further or funding great projects. If we go with 1 year they'll just sit there for one year not aiding anyone.

We need to close that unclaimed stake dilemma ASAP and focus to the launch and marketing efforts
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AИN] NODE - 2n Gen. CryptoCurrency build from SCRATCH on NODE.JS - Brand NEW! on: October 11, 2014, 05:12:28 PM
Litte question ...  600M Node are in circulation and 400M alre held by the devs ? isnt it quite a bit to big stake ? What is planed with the 400M, someone can explain to me or give me a link ?  Interesting coin, but dont know its a good idea to invest, if 40% of the coins are held by the devs.    Or did I understood something wrong ?

Those 400Million coins are for development and bounties, dev can explain in detail.

They havent planned anything special so far, this coin aint going nowhere. Launch was mistake and too early
