201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | URGENT UPDATE Dec. 11 2015 on: December 13, 2015, 12:08:31 AM
@jasemoney
@hack_

Thanks for the info. Never knew it actually got implemented. I'll be honest. I only look at the thread once a week or two with all the issues I am having under Windows. Which is ironic because I never had any issues up until version 0.30.17.5 or abouts there with any wallets.

I just ran the last Windows version with the last bootstrap that @bitcreditscc posted and I am at about 12 hours later and only synced at block 72655 and 37 weeks behind still.

I have no idea what the change that was so drastic that started causing these issues but it has been a pain in the rear. I think I have one bank node that has not been started in over 5 months now.

Does anyone support a change to sha256D? momentum is memory heavy , sha256D hashes can be produced easily by smaller power efficient machines such as rasberry pi

I also disagree.

The raspbery pi will mine for like a day or so before other rigs jump on it.

I can personally raise the difficulty so a raspberry will be useless.

You have 2 M +  BCR Huh   Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Am I missing something? Why do I need coins to mine in the wallet? Or has the mining come to an end as it has been discussed in the past?

I know I gpu mined with the momentum algo quite a while ago.

OK let’s do some Maths. If just over 43 million coins are mined in a week and dumped straight to market the price of DGB would not be this low, the markets have traded that many coins just today! So there is obviously someone selling on top of whatever the miners are doing and I’m sure they have their reasons for doing it but as time goes on the miners take will diminish even further.

You are right miners stake will decrease as time goes by...a whooping 1% per month decrease, LOL going to be like 10 years before the profits from dumping will stop....Jez soon there will be no point mining DGB as it will be worth 1 sat at best
you would think that by halving the block times & the rewards would be the same but you would be wrong, its no better for the miners to make more profit thats why there dumping...the likelihood of a miner hitting more blocks per day has doubled, less power, faster transactions to the exchanges to dump...you have handed the dumpsters a goldmine...like i said Digispeed was only a toy to show off with now its gone tits up the investors are paying the price
You completely missed my point, the miners are not responsible for dumping more coins than they are mining because that would be impossible. Trying to blame what is happening in the markets on the miners is just silly!

There you go this is just my Polo account I have plenty more on Bittrex & sadly lots stuck on Cryptsy

Wow man, I feel for you, I only have half a million, it's nothing but I still feel I have the right to voice out my opinions. However there's always people hushing us. Hype and false promises is what hurts this community.

No one is hushing you both but you are beating a dead horse with your message.

If you don't like it then sell out and get out of Dodge (not the coin).

It gets old after a while.

Is the windows wallet in post #4147 by bitcreditscc?

its an rc wallet

How can I get it to test?

Still have not had a wallet running for a while.

207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: December 04, 2015, 03:18:07 PM
Thinking about it a bit more, the easiest way forward would be to extend ethminer with a stratum proxy that ccminer would connect to. Ethminer would take care of DAG creation, CPU verification and work supply. It would be very low on resources.

If I am thinking correct then that would be Dwarf Pool as the only pool with a stratum. I could be wrong also if that is not what you meant.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (official thread) on: December 04, 2015, 02:14:21 AM
sia did that for both - and nvidia cards came out far worse than implementing cuda ...

but there you have it ...

#crysx

When did he do that?

I can only hope that NVidia's implementation of OpenCL has improved by now.

It's their unwillingness to participate in an open standard that makes their OpenCL implementation so "average".

the one miner ...

it is opencl and runs for both nvidia and amd based gpus ...

nvidia came out poorly in the trade off ...

https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-GPU-Miner ...

the algo is blake2b from what i understand ...

whether its their unwillingness or not - like microsoft and their ridiculous 'standards' as opposed to the 'real' standards - nvidia are the largest gpu manufacturer and developer in the world ...

so they build their own standard - which could be the crappiest coding on the planet ( jump in microsoft again ) but still maintain the number one position for the hardware and software working together ...

#crysx

It's Nvidia's fault. They wanna pretend they're Apple and not give a shit about interoperability, then it should be their problem.

EDIT: I dumped the signature2 kernel from my miner - it was triggering a bug in my other kernels and didn't really make sense to seperate anyways.

I see Wolf beat me too it but it was only about 3 maybe 6 months ago Nvidia started really supporting OpenCl but not the full version of it from my understanding. And Windows 10 with Nvidia is giving the main support. I am no where near a dev so you can look into it further if you like.

I don't post much here but mine it off and on and hold quite a bit.

@DogeDarkDev, is it possible to update OP? Lot of pictures are missing and pools are not current. Just tried Binpool again but it is down. I know SuprNova has a pool for you also.

@ DEV-TEAM

Neither the OP nor the website list Cryptopia or Coinerz as exchanges where DGB may be purchased.

Please amend.
I checked https://purchase.coinerz.com/ and i cannot find Digibyte.

Cryptopia neverd heard of and imo it does not look very legit, Can someone please give more info about this exchange?

Thanks for the info

Cryptopia is a decent exchange and have pretty good requirements for adding coins.

They even will add pools for coins if requested. Their Mineshaft Pool is pretty good coin support.

Out of the smaller ones (my opinion) is better than the IPO Exchanges. (They don't add IPO Coins).

There is a user who has offered 10 BTC for the whole 6 M in escrow.

Thoughts ?

I am against it, but it would be unfair for me to not tell you all.

I prefer the comprehensive options we are discussing that spread the rewards over time.

Maybe then you can sell some of them.

Keep your options open since you can use some BTC to further the development of the project.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: November 25, 2015, 12:32:25 PM

I have been mining at nicehash and hashpower for the last months. I have also tested the nicehash miner but i get a bit lower speed on all cards with it. But yeah, i think i can call myself a poolguy.
Right now i am not really sure what to do, keep these or replace them with 3x970 cards.

3x970 should give me around 30Mhs Lyra2rev2 @ around 430w ?

With 970 cards i should gain like 7Mhs and only get around 50-75w higher powerdraw.

I try to look at all factors as I have the system running in my room. You can get more cards, but with 7 mh/s, you'll also get more heat. I think of it as a way that may be you should get 2x970's, and find a 980 at a cheap price, it'll definitely be a win situation.

You'll always have that one itch for adding more cards.

I've left room for one or two more cards on the motherboard, also have enough power to power them all. Honestly, right now I'm just waiting for Pascal which is rumored to be out in Q1 16.
I am not sure what to think about Pascal yet. I think all the performance hype is quite overrated actually. But i guess there will be alot of used and cheap gear to buy when everyone is upgrading and that is nice for all of us Smiley
not obvious...
In principle Pascal should have a 16nm die and should be more powerful also it should come with new HBM vram closer to the processor.
So it should be more powerful.

Looks like Nvidia will also pull an AMD and save HBM for the high end only Pascal cards. All other cards will get GDDR5x memory but it is supposedly faster than GDDR5. Or whatever they are calling it.

I can see that you will never admit that people are having issues with this wallet.

I am on Windows 7 64 bit on all three rigs and still can't get the wallet to sync. You still have not answered from my previous attempt to find out what the current wallet is. I know what it says in the OP and I have mentioned that with the current "beta" versions out that the OP does not always mention the current one in use.

When you have to delete everything in the roaming folder but wallet.dat, config file and backup folder just to get the wallet to open and then let it resync then there is a issue with the wallet.

You can call me a complainer, you can call me a fudster but hell make sure you also call me an investor since that is what I did with 2 of the bank nodes. And now you ask for donations and some of us can't even get our wallets to work. I have never had an issue like this with any other wallet.

What is strange about your statement is that when the wallet had real problems i did admit and we eventually got to the root of it.

Again, you are on windows and i develop and test on linux, perhaps there is something that is choking the windows wallet. Also, if you have custom configurations for block folders and wallets, try working on the default.

What issue are you facing when you do a fresh sync? If it is getting stuck somewhere then have you checked the peers you connect to?

I can't even tell you what a custom configured block folder is. I an using what the default wallet is.

About the peers, I have 2 active connections after trying the open the wallet again and it is resyncing now. Last issue after resyncing was stuck at block"?" I cant tell you because it was so long ago I never wrote it down and closed the wallet and that was back in September. I just gave up and was hoping for a new release of the wallet.

Would it be possible to update the OP and have a list of known good nodes to connect too? There is so much things to try and do that is spread out in this thread it would be nice to have one spot to find all the information we need. I currently have 4 addnodes in my config file and can't tell you if they are even good now.

I'll repost after the wallet has resynced.

All good..but why not just bootstrap ? Bittrex had a problem yesterday and we resolved it in minutes, just bootstrapped and were back in business. The adv of that is because you are already ahead of the problem peers, you won't get blocks form them anymore.

I could bump us up a version and release an update tomorrow that cuts them off, but i was hoping to avoid incremental updates this time so we have a smoother transition

Just tried the bootstrap from hack_ and the wallet will not open at all. It force close in less than a second. Opened it about 30 times and it force closes.

Deleted it all and opened wallet and it is syncing.

Why not put all the information in the OP so we can make sure we are using the correct things we need?

Also what are the correct nodes to be using?

try this newer bootstrtap by dragos

I haven't had a problem since. also, use the "dirty" version as the one on OP also closes for me but that dirty one has been rock solid so far.

Thanks this synced but I got a message that the wallet.dat was corrupted.

Wallet finally synced. I am at block 253,530 but no coins now.

Just gotta remember the wallet command for the console to repair the wallet.

instead of asking for peoples thoughts what about the wallet sync issues? when thats fixed we can move it.. first things first right??

unless the wallet has been fixed then ill take back what i said.. has it?

The wallet never needed fixing.  I ask for people's thoughts because this is not a dictatorship. While i may control many aspects of this project, i lean on the opinions of users and supporters.

Quick peek at the query page.  looks like dev wants to support multiple DB types. It could allow use of external, even remote DB....ie users in SPV mode or with limited resources can rent access to a TrustDB from a BN owner.

Did it connect? Actually, i was trying to figure out how to have a server environment with user access control, as well as securing the embedded DB with hahsing + passwords...or maybe specific tables?

We really need someone good with QT and someone good with databases.

I admit that I have and do complain in this thread about the QT but like I said 3 BN that have been offline for over a month now.

I am not a dev or can't help in this area at all (I can only offer help/support by mining and keeping the blockchain moving.)

If you would like some advice/help on this issue maybe you can contact the DOGED dev. He is really good at this and I know he offered advice/help with another coin I mined a while ago.

Please don't take that as being disrespectful but it is worth a shot.

I would just like to get my BN back online and collecting payouts. Because I can't tell you how much I have missed out now.

does anyone known what this is extranonce.subscribe and how to get rid of it

You can run ccminer with the -e switch to turn it off.
-e I don't know what that is.
sp do you have the latest readme file on ccminer ?
Ps contributions coming soon.  Wink
Got my new rig working again with 2  750ti....2 980ti .
EDIT: Electrical power line went down yesterday and burn out my new rig......... f#@&............ it will have to wait. Undecided

did you have some kind of power protection on that rig?
Didn't even have a chance to set that up......a long story short... didn't have the money to buy one yet.
I think its the mb.... I have a second on that I will be putting on the rig. Undecided

you can make a quick power protection box by using an old UPS, even with broken battery and low capacity, if it has some "surge protection only" plugs.
Ok I have a power protection but wasn't plugged in... it's a long story.

But I need to know if it is the psu or the mb.  Need to check the psu first.
EDIT: It is plugged into a watt meter but?
At this point I can't get it to start with crossing the power pins.

Sorry to hear about that.

Depending on your power supply and/or country I use this to test dead supplies. I have about 3 in my closet. Hope it helps if you have never seen or heard of this.

Also not sure if I would want it on BitTrex, just yet. Seems to be doing well without it.

We invited some people to join this project as we said before. Some already are here, others will join only on Bittrex, Poloniex or another major exchanger. They have their reasons, so we have to do what we have to do: try to list this coin on one of those Smiley

I would love to be able to trade at more than one place! Gives me a good window to profit Cheesy

Don't get me wrong, the more the merrier. BitTrex just has too many bots on the exchange.

Poloniex, would love on that one.
