201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mixing your Bitcoin might become illegal in the future on: May 07, 2021, 10:17:22 PM
The recent popularity of Bitcoin has brought the attention of governments and central banks worldwide. We've seen certain opposition from countries like India, China, and Russia against the pioneer cryptocurrency. Countries that are friendly towards Bitcoin (like the US and UK), are constantly surveilling its citizens for any suspicious activity. I've seen that some countries have taken action against Bitcoin mixing services with the excuse that they're used for money laundering and terrorist financing. Since most (if not all) of these centralized mixers don't comply with KYC/AML regulations, they're subject to being shut down by the government. Imagine if criminals begin using Bitcoin mixers in mass for money laundering purposes. If the trend continues, mixing Bitcoin may turn out to become illegal.

Do you think there's a possibility this will happen in the future? If not, why? What do you think will happen once mixers (both custodial and non-custodial) are banned by the government? Will this force people to use privacy coins more thoroughly? Or will everything remain the same? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Smiley

This might be a possibility, but there isn't a consensus about this yet. Yes, FATF needs to know the source of the money but there needs to be privacy as well. I honestly find the that whole public blockchain is problematic in the first place and we should have gone towards privacy in the first place.

But that doesn't mean that we should use privacy to avoid regulations. Nor it should be build for that in mind.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth price pridictoin on: May 07, 2021, 10:07:40 PM
Hello Guys what you think about etherum. Is etherum touch 5k in this may month ?? I see very much potential in etherum what you think ??

Potential in this bull run? Ihmo it could go as far as 22k. But potential in overall, it's really hard to figure out. It really depends on adoption and what ETH will be eventually used for. Currently, before scaling happens it's quite difficult to predict because it costs too much to do anything with it. We can vision many things that smart contracts will be good for but honestly i wouldn't be so sure if the major adoption even happens with eth.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sheep, buy now? on: May 07, 2021, 10:02:12 PM
Hi Smiley I'm new to the crypto space. I'm looking at the ETH graph and I'm unsure if I should buy now. But its at an all time high, and I was taught to buy low sell high. I really don't want to be a sheep, but what if the price keeps going up? Should I just wait for it to go down and just buy the dip?

That's a joke and doesn't really mean anything, it's referring to the fact that we all would have done that in hindsight. But whole TA is prediction game and no one really knows when the price is "up" even when it has gone parabolic because it might have just broke out for a new price discovery. If you have a marketcap price in your head you think it can reach, buy now and sell then. If you think it's overpriced, buy later when it's cheaper.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bull market end on: May 07, 2021, 09:28:39 PM
so when do you guys think this bull market is going to end.  I'm kinda balls deep in crypto, and I've make some pretty amazing returns.  But im just wondering if any of you guys think this bull run will end anytime soon.

I was thinking end of the year, except there might be some new coins that just keep rising like last time. And probably everyone thinks that their favorite coin will be the one that decouples the whole crypto trend and moons when others crash. I know my favorite coin does that at least Cool
205  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚡️⚡️Betplay.io - Lightning Network Casino - INSTANT & ZERO FEE Payments ⚡️⚡️ on: May 07, 2021, 09:14:12 PM
Are you planning to add "mining" for players to get dividends at some point? I would be interested. Also it seems to be a great marketing trick considering how well others have done with that. Also do you have any public roadmap or community telegram channel?
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC new historic ATH exceeds 900% in just 3 months on: May 07, 2021, 01:58:49 PM
Is this just speculation for the charts? Because i see absolutely no reason for Ethereum classic to exist and i don't think it's bringing anything to the table in terms of tech or cryptocurrency adoption. It's just a fork for a statement and doesn't create anything else but confusion and division.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be hijacked by world billionaires??? on: May 06, 2021, 08:58:04 PM
It is obvious that world billionaires are indicating interest into bitcoin of late ,for instance Elon Musk twitted that you can now purchase his Tesla cars with bitcoin, is he trying to hod bitcoins so it will be scarce then he control and dictate the price of the market or is it for the good of bitcoin that we have been expecting ,what do you think

Is owning a lot of bitcoin somehow hijacking it? Or what do you even mean? Price suppression? Price manipulation has happened since bitcoin was brand new and there are still ton of pseudonomoys whales and og accounts that can manipulate the price when ever they like. There will be more regulations against that, but cryptos are still in gray area compared to security exchanges with stocks and commodities.
208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin help on: May 06, 2021, 08:32:36 PM
I have a question about buying and transfering Bitcoin to others. I bought about 2k of Bitcoin from coinbase and sent it my cousin in Singapore. They weren't able to spend the Bitcoin from a local exchange bc they said the Bitcoin was banned or deemed illegal. I was wondering how often does this happen, how do you know if your Bitcoin is bad when you buy it.

Thanks for any help.

Who was the one saying it was illegal? The exchange or the bank they tried to withdraw to? Maybe they need to pick another exchange because that doesn't sound right. To my knowledge cryptos aren't banned in Singapore so that exchange in question seems sketchy.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Elon Musk's goal with Dogecoin? on: May 06, 2021, 08:25:59 PM
Do you think he does it because he wants to make money? Do you think he speculates with Dogecoin?

I am wondering if he will keep tweeting about after the bull market is over.

He doesn't need the money, and tweeting for gains would just be market manipulation and he would be insane to risk lawsuits with it. If i recall right he just likes it and would have bought it if the main wallet wasn't holding 25% of the coins (which makes it unpredictable and highly manipulative). I think he is just having fun tweeting and memeing.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Time it takes to launch onto the exchange? on: May 06, 2021, 08:22:11 PM
Does anyone know how long the process is to go from applying to launching on an exchange to actually being listed on the exchange? Thanks.

This depends purely on the exchange and the project you are listing. If you are paying for listing to some b-class exchange, there are usually premium listing that's faster and faked volume coming with that. If you are talking about legit exchanges, they need to review the project, if they like it, listing can be faster as they want the trading volume for themselves.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philosophical or Analogy Question - Crypto to Internet on: May 05, 2021, 08:42:38 PM
Internet is a fundamental technology, it forever changed human communication. It allowed everyone to access tons of information for free, instantly and effortlessly. It connected people across the globe.

Crypto isn't as revolutionary. It allows you transact money without middleman, so you can have full control over your money and better privacy. But most people don't care about those things, so they don't rush to start using crypto. They already have access to online payments, and the inconveniences of using crypto are not worth it for them.

I disagree. Most people didn't care about internet when it was just talk about tcp/ip, modems or even http protocol. Connecting computer to another didn't seem revolutionary to most of the people. Some geeks saw the possibilities but only the applications from that network made it revolutionary.

"Crypto" isn't just transacting money and it doesn't matter if people care for now because the infrastructure isn't even ready. They didn't care about the internet when it came either. But people are building regulatory friendly applications, making actual use cases that could be a back bone for a network that doesn't need trust. Network that is backed by state of the art privacy tech cutting out ton of middle men.

- New Huge Event

First i was thinking that this would be listing, but when i take a closer look at the wording, it sounds like something else. They would probably say it's a listing if it was, but this could be something better; Something huge they haven't done before, something unlike altcoin spring.
213  Economy / Economics / Re: disruptive market idea on: May 05, 2021, 06:00:19 AM
Markets work because of liquidity. Some artificial price cap by moving limit orders would just eventually kill it and no one would want to provide that liquidity anyway. It's a zero sum game and you can't cheat it without making it an instant ponzi. You can have a bull market, but bear markets after that are natural part of the cycle.
214  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|⚡️Free BTC+BNB|⚡️$3.5mln Staking pool|⚡️New coins every week on: May 05, 2021, 05:06:51 AM

Could you elaborate on what dilemma? You are the only one who said that BFG would remove dividends without explaining what you mean. Of course they will remove dividends for tokens that are not staking in the site. They already have token that are not staking. It's not complex.

Renampun's comment on the other hand didn't make any sense at all. What manipulation are you guys talking about? There will be same amount of circulating tokens even when they are been sold.

Hey guys I have a question, have I missed something? Has Betfury made a statement that they will eliminate dividends? I have not frequented the platform, I know that the pool has decreased, if the pool falls to zero, are the dividends eliminated? in that case there is no more staking?

-cut-

Betfury hasn't made any such statement. I was just trying to make sense what Obito and Renampun were talking about. And yes, if the pools would fell to zero, there would be nothing to pay from obviously. But i don't see it falling to zero nor i have seen it decreased in dollar value. Obviously it has dropped in btc/eth and BNB value because those are climbing in dollar value.

Agreed, and plan helps to keep your emotions checked and makes you less likely a hopeless bag holder. I have never yet regretted selling anything when it was the plan all along. But i have regretted selling out of boredom, because chart was too stable, or when i didn't sell because i got greedy.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charlie Munger hating on bitcoin on: May 04, 2021, 02:30:59 PM
Berkshire Hathaway CEO Charlie Munger has called bitcoin's growth and rise "disgusting" and "contrary to the interests of humanity."
"I don't welcome a currency that's so useful to kidnappers and extortionists, nor do I like just handing over billions and billions of dollars to someone who just made up a new financial commodity out of thin air," he added.

Charlie Munger's disdain for bitcoin demonstrates that boomers are feeling challenged because they became complacent and missed out on the next big thing.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Wow... Well i guess that Charlie Munger knows thing or 2 about "disgusting" and "contrary to the interests of humanity."

I wonder how physical cash and gold aren't more useful to extortionists then most trackable asset out there? Too bad he is so old we won't see him flipping out how everything is disrubted by with smart contracts in the future.

But his motives are ovious and his ramblings shouldn't be taken seriously...
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: NMX Nominex token on: May 04, 2021, 02:14:57 PM
As this topic turned to be unofficial topic for Nominex exchange, I would ask here - is there an option to convert small balances to something? Or Nominex is the kind of exchanges, where user, present/donate small balances to exchange if he hasnt market "use NMX for trading fees"?

Wanted to trade some dogecoin there, but was amazed with 50 doge withdrawal fee. Anyone knows where can minimum trading amount table be found?

Not yet. I suggested it (a similar system to binance) in the telegram and they are considering it. Admin thought it was a good idea at least. I am guessing that they are waiting for the Binance broker program to go live first before they build anything else. I have to say i will be using nominex a lot more after that happens.

~snip

Why would they ever remove their dividends? That's what makes Betfury interesting and why a lot of people play on this site. It's their number one selling point.
I am pretty sure they will come up with a good solution when they list their coins.
I don't exactly know why but I think that when it gets listed, it will be susceptible to manipulation. I know that it's what makes the site interesting but at the same time, we have to look at the wider and long-term scale. I hope that I am wrong about it and you are right that they are going to find a good solution regarding this dilemma.

Could you elaborate on what dilemma? You are the only one who said that BFG would remove dividends without explaining what you mean. Of course they will remove dividends for tokens that are not staking in the site. They already have token that are not staking. It's not complex.

219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always pay yourself first!!!!! on: May 03, 2021, 08:19:53 PM
Many people who sold Bitcoin at $3 or $100 or $1,000 are absolutely having regrets now, even if they made thousands or millions at that time. With Bitcoin you either try to sell it at close to the top of bull market and buy at the low of bear market, or you just HODL for many years. It's different with alts - they can easily crash and never ever recover, so you indeed need to take profit and never look back.

I have sold bitcoin at $300, and all the way to ath. I don't really have regrets because needed money at the time and was constantly buying and selling anyway. At $300 any talk  about $10k btc seemed delusional. In fact the whole idea looked like it could die at any moment and everything was more or less shady and and unpredictable. I understand why people would think that early sellers have regrets but no one really knew how this would turn out so most of us aren't hitting ourself for taking profits.

I took a lot of profits, maybe too much but hindsight is always better.
220  Economy / Speculation / Re: May 13th, Bitcoin will surge to $70k or it will be dump? on: May 03, 2021, 11:51:50 AM
20 Billion is just too much for a rumor. Future of Bitcoin is very much unclear, and this happening in China of all places makes even more unbeliveable. Isn't it that time of the year when China bans it again? Also companies need to think of shareholders and this would be too reckles bet considering them. We have no way of knowing if there will be huge carbon taxation on this thing in the future. It would be very surprising if nothing like that would happen.
