201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I CHOSE BITCOIN INVESTMENT OVER BANK INVESTMENT on: August 11, 2018, 10:41:16 AM
Knowing the crypto world was the best thing I have ever done. Today I was given an amount of $20000 by my uncle to make an investment for him at the bank so that by the end of the year he can get some additional money added to his capital. I sat down and calculated and found out that, investing at the bank will give him just $2000 interest.

I then called him and explain to him about cryptocurrency and how secured it is with evidences and it price increment for last year. After seeing it he told me to invest that amount into BITCOIN and I have done it for him. I know that is volatile and can fluctuate but I made time to explain to him that although the market is red now but when the green days come he will get not less thank $25000 added to his capital. I know I did the right thing and he will surely laugh some days to come. What do you think guys?

Bank investment is more safe than you invest in crypto because you know that cryptocurrency value is very volatile.
But if you have a long term vision, then you are suitable in crypto because usually crypto is a long term investment.
You can see the early adopters of bitcoin is already gain their profit.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies to Bitcoin can be dangerous! on: August 11, 2018, 10:33:11 AM
I have run into several Bitcoin "newbies" over the last couple of months, that are spreading the wrong information on forums and/or in person. Their intentions is good, but the results is bad, because they did not do proper research.

Some of these people are selling themselves as experts, because they have been in the scene for a few months. I have been in the scene for years and I still know very little about EVERY aspect of this technology.

I think you should rather admit it, when you do not know something about the technology, than selling your little knowledge as facts. I will regularly tell people that I am not clued up with every aspect of this technology, but I always try to do proper research, when I encounter something that I am not 100% clued up on.

~ Ask, if you not sure.
~ Do not lie, if you are unsure.
~ Do proper research, before you educate other people.
~ Accept that you will not know it all.
~ Fact check what you already know.
~ Do not argue, if you not sure about your facts.

Let's agree that we all learn something new about this great technology almost every day, so only a small amount of us are experts.  Wink

The most important thing when you are a newbie is always study to gain enough knowledge before involving to something, include cryptocurrency.
Newbies can spread the positive things about cryptocurrency too if they have a right understanding about crypto.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just sold everything and bought Cardano! on: August 10, 2018, 09:54:17 AM
Now I do not care if the market goes down more because I know Cardano is the future!
Some people say it will become no 1
It is an amazing project so do yourself a favor and research it
Cardano could reach a market cap of 100 Billion in the next 2 years!
There is more to this project than meets the eye. You see it or you don’t: up to you!

Cardano is the next big thing and could possibly be as big as Google,Amazon,Microsoft, etc!

No, you should not to buying and holding only 1 coin. Remember you need to diversify your portfolio.
If something bad happening with Cardano in the future, you will have a massive loss. Maybe you can buy the other 2-3 coins and have Cardano as your main coin.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what are your plan for altcoin on: August 10, 2018, 09:21:31 AM
I still hold my altcoin and i plan to my all coin holding for longer time  beacuse  altcoin  give  a bright future  alt coin low now so i plan buy the coins.

My plan regarding of my altcoins is to hold them for long time because in this 2018, all coins in the market seems will stay in the bottom.
I will wait for another year like 2017. Most of us hoping the same thing, the bull market. Anyway, selling altcoins in this kind of market is not wise.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins hold to moon 1 year? on: August 09, 2018, 03:36:11 AM
I'm looking to invest in a trustworthy Altcoin with a good team and project that I can hold for 1 years. Do you have any suggestions for what I should invest in and why?

1 year is not enough, hold it for long time like you already forget about it.
Search for an existing coins with a good performance like ETH, LTC, XMR, and buy it now with the low price.
Store in the safest wallet and just forget it, then come few years later.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust ICO Rating sites? on: August 09, 2018, 03:25:20 AM
They seem biased to me. A friend of mine who's doing an ICO told me that they paid 10ETH for 5 quality ratings and that's that! I noticed that some ICOs with good project, team, and good social media presence are struggling with getting good reviews.

With all that said, should it still be a factor to look at when investing in ICO?

I personally never trust a paid rating site. An individual review / spreadsheet will be better to rely i think.
But again, it is just the other's review. If you want to buying tokens or coins, you should do your own review for the project.
207  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin and global warming on: August 08, 2018, 01:13:45 PM
I think our main problem is the huge electricity expense induced by mining and its noxious effect on the climate. This is, to my mind, the only serious argument against Bitcoin.
Alleviating the electricity expense should be one of our priorities. If we do not do it for the sake of the Earth (which we really should) we should at least do it selfishly because governments will not tolerate this forever and they will be right. The more the exchange rate increases, the worse it gets, of course.
Some solutions exist though: first there is proof-of-stake, of course. This technology may be too young to be deemed reliable enough but we should at least start considering it.
If we do not like proof-of-stake I think we could drammatically decrease the electricity expense by stopping monetary creation now. Nowdays Bitcoin is famous enough to remain secure even if miners earned transaction fees only. And if as a whole there are 16.5 M coins instead of 21 M, this does not make much of a difference. That is even good for holders. To make miners agree with that solution, they must be compensated for their lost income.  More precisely, active miners must be compensated because they have already bought ASICs. Futures miners do not need to be compensated. Since mining is a competitive industry, future miners will make no profit on average, whatever the reward scheme. To compensate active miners we could decide that the next 2016 blocks yield, say, 100 new coins and then 0 forever. Everybody would win and the Earth above all!
There are probably many other solutions and I wish the community cared a little more about this fundamental issue.

I thing global warming is caused by O3, mining bitcoin not producing that kind of waste.
Another thing causing global warming is the heat. The power generator for electricity is not produce heat too much.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NO! Do Not Invest all you have on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies on: August 08, 2018, 01:02:47 PM
I have read several posts on this forum where people have claimed to have invested all the money they have on Bitcoin, I also read a post where a guy claimed to have used all the $20,000 his uncle gave him to also invest in Bitcoin, some even sold their landed property. The reason for these risks and others is the firm believe that Bitcoin would be $50,000 - $100,000 by the year 2019 or thereabout.

First, I must say that I admire the courage and high risk appetite of such persons. But, I must also warn.
Yes, It is good for everyone to have high hopes for Bitcoin, and also hope it gets to 100k USD in future, but you should also consider a safety factor in anything you do including investing.

Mathematically,

DO NOT Assume,
P(Success of future term) = 1 ; and
P(Failure of future term) = 0

This implies that, you must always leave a little fraction for probability of failure which in this case is the safety factor, no matter how little the fraction may be. Simply put, you don't have absolute control of what happens to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in the future.

Invest wisely, only invest what you can afford to loose

Just a piece of advice.

What are your own suggestions?

If you invest with all you have, what can you use for your needs? Always investing when you have more money.
Putting your money all in is like gambling on casino, very risky and not recommended to do.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep your coins physically secure? on: August 07, 2018, 04:05:11 AM
We're all aware of the risks of keeping our coins on online wallets and exchange wallets, but many of us still keep our coins on our own devices.

Are we keeping our devices secure? Its instinctual to not leave your fiat money wallet unattended in a public place but what about your bitcoin wallet? Are you leaving leaving the laptop you're writing your novel on the table at Starbucks when you go the bathroom? The laptop with your electrum wallet, your life savings.

Where does the line between paranoia and reasonable physical security meet?

Yes of course, we need to keep our coins or tokens both physically and logically secure.
usually im saving my wallet info in some storage. Then safe the storage to a safe place somewhere.
create the backup as well because sometime you can forget where you store it.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Should I do if my bitcoin has been stolen, and where should i complain ? on: August 07, 2018, 03:47:43 AM
Hi Friends, actually one of my BTC address from Zebpay account having almost 0.01550 BTC has been hacked and the amount has been stolen just few days ago. The amount was not quite big for me, but i really fear about the security of holding the BTC in exchanges and now even in wallets.

I Just want to know is there any ways i can get back my BTC back to my account and also is there any website or authority who can help me out in getting back my stolen BTC, let me know about it. Also let me know what safety measurement should i take while holding my BTC in Exchanges. Thanks in advance.

There is no way to retrieve the btc back if your btc has been sent, except you know the private key of the recipient address of your btc.
Seems like your wallet address private key has been exposed. You must not use that address again, otherwise your btc will be stolen again by them.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too late to invest in bitcoin? Is it a bubble? on: August 06, 2018, 02:24:49 AM
Some peoples think they are too late to buy bitcoin because they think bitcoin is a ponzi pyramid, the more early you join, the more you will get.
But this is wrong. Even now you can buy bitcoin because it is on the dip market, and it has a possibility to rising any time. Peoples in 2016 were not expecting bitcoin price will reach $19k in 2017, so bitcoin is very unpredictable
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find the right coins to buy on: August 05, 2018, 03:02:28 PM
Hello, I have been trading for some months now. I have had some losses but now I recovered and I have the same I started with. The hardest part for me is finding the right coins to buy. I have been around signals telegram groups and tried with some scanners, but havent had much success. What would you recommend?

You can find a way to easily notice the right coins to buy, by experience. When you already ever invested in a success project,
you can compare that project with the coin you want to buy now. If many similarities, you can think the coin will be good in the future.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cheapest cryptocurrecny for investment? on: August 04, 2018, 03:35:54 PM
what is going to be the cheapest cryptocurrency to invest at present and get double future return from it? Grin

Usually, the cheapest cryptocurrency is the most new coins that created recently.
As you can see, there are many altcoins created every months, even every weeks. If you want to buy cheap, that is your chance.
But there is no guarantee the coin price will be rising in the future. Just buy the coin you believe it will success in the future.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it the best time to invest on ETH on: August 04, 2018, 03:25:27 PM
Ethereum price is now below 600$. Do you think it is the best time to buy Ethereum now ?

It was below $400 few days later and it was the best time to buy. For now, eth price seems stabling at around $410.
Still, this is the best time to buy eth because the bull market not even started in this year. We all expecting for bull market soon.
dont wait any longer, buy eth when it still cheap
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have $10k to start gambling with altcoins. What the best way to start? on: August 03, 2018, 08:48:59 AM
Hey I'm new to that crypto game and wanna make some money  Grin

Have bought into BTC and have sent it to bitfinex now and wan't to start trading and investing later.

A friend of me who is in the game for while told me that almost all coins are crap and I should hold only BTC and maybe Monero but not now because prices are still too high.

I'm thinking now about to short Ripple, IOTA, Litecoin and Ethereum.

So my question is what is the most worthless shitcoin that make me the most money with shorting and how low can it go?

Hey, you want to gamble with crypto ? If you buying coins and trading or holding it, that is not means gambling.
You are properly investing your money to those coins. In my opinion, Litecoin is a good coin, it is fast and cheap fee.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why are you now joining cryptocurrency, where were you in 2009? on: August 03, 2018, 08:35:28 AM
Most of us here never believed cryptocurrency will come this far when btc was launched. We would have rubbished any idea to join cryptocurrency at that time. Now some of us are a bit late but we are still better off than those who will inevitably join some years to come.So we have generational thinkers, kudos to those who started the fight earlier and brought the industry this far.

When i heard about bitcoin ( the only cryptocurrency at that time ), i was ignoring it and not buying it at all.
i think most peoples did that too. If we could predict cryptocurrency will grow like this, we would buy it earlier.
But despite that, i still join myself to cryptocurrency world.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The primary idea of bitcoin on: August 02, 2018, 03:40:02 AM
Hello,

I would like to discuss about the primary idea of bitcoin of Mr. Nakamoto. Was he a/is he a person who wanted to make world better place, to take from rich and give to poor, to create new elite? What I am linking to is that at the moment large mining farms, bitcoin visioneers who started in early 2010-2013 now have most of bitcoins and sad (my oppinion) truth is that they will keep growing than most of society stays in poverty.

I think it is socially incorrect situation as it is because I think primary and main idea of bitcoins was to make world a better place to live, to shorten gap between rich and poor, educated and non educated people...

And finally happened what happened, rich got only very small percentage, while others live as they lived before...

What is your oppinion? What was real primary idea of bitcoin? Are we on a right way as Nakamoto visioned?

To answer your question, we need to go back to the basic concept from mr nakamoto in the whitepaper.
In bitcoin whitepaper (you can find if you google) explained that bitcoin is a payment exchange medium, software based online payment system.
So, the idea of bitcoin is to become a payment currency, decentralized and online, peer to peer without 3rd party (for reducing fee).
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the new strategy? on: August 01, 2018, 08:00:12 AM
Just recently i noticed a common trend with almost all ICOs.

There have been lots of complains that bounty hunters dump their tokens immediately after receiving them. Although, it is not true for all bounty hunters. Some still hold theirs.

Investors now get their tokens before bounty hunters. They are also allowed to start trading before bounty hunters get their rewards.
I believe this will prevent the investors from complaining and blaming the dump in price on bounty hunters.

That is not a new thing, investors should be received the token first, then the hunters later. As an investors, if they already pay but not yet receiving any tokens, they will doubt the company because slow and will sell the tokens after it listed on the market.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is good for mining now ? on: July 31, 2018, 09:05:55 AM
Which coin is good for mining now ?

I think mining with GPU will be more profitable then mining bitcoin for now, the difficult of bitcoin is very high.
You can try to mine XMR or ETH, it will be worth. Or if you confuse, you can go here to know what coin you want to mine : https://whattomine.com/
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep safe your Bitcoin from hacker on: July 30, 2018, 01:35:39 AM
I think no online wallet is safe for keep your bitcoin from hackers. You can see that many phishing site created to trap the holders.
Not only in bitcoin, but in altcoins as well for example in eth wallet. But if you have hard wallet, it will be a different story. You cannot get phished unless you input the private key or seed.
