201  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Putin signed a law on the regulation of cryptocurrencies from 2021 on: August 06, 2020, 07:42:22 PM

Quote
MOSCOW, July 31 - RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed a law that will allow transactions with digital financial assets (DFA) from 2021, but will ban cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in Russia.

https://ria.ru/20200731/1575229960.html

And who are going to challenge this law? There could be someone inside Russia that is influential in the crypto sphere, but I doubt they will make a U-turn.

I used Google Translate.
Interestingly how this law will make the banks and exchanges workflow have regulations tied to the central bank. This just seems like a lazy way for Russia to seize control over some digital currency whilst making sure they're not completely out of the loop.

If you ask me this plan won't be successful since I expect crypto users to not put up with this nonsense and diminish the purpose of cryptocurrency altogether. There are many ways around this, having Putin sign something doesn't mean the end of it all. Russia does have a large crypto user base so we can rely on some of them to not be subjugated to this system.
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop-lose any recommend? on: August 06, 2020, 06:19:55 PM
Hey guys
I can say 95% of my loses are because of using stop-lose , price always return to past price and i regret why i made stop-lose ,  but th
ere is another worry that without setting it market may blow your account suddenly ,  i use 1:10 leverage . I'll appreciate if you guys guide me how i run it  .. Thanks

I must say that if you keeping getting loses as opposed to healthy returns then I'd consider losing the leverage. The 1:10 leverage for somebody who worries like that and doesn't get the stop-loss to work favourably can only mean trouble.

Here you're combining 2 strategies, try to settle with one then maybe think adding another.
203  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin.com, the scammest wallet I've ever seen on: August 06, 2020, 09:43:10 AM
It seems that my bech32 address was the fault. I will never generate one similar again. Only segwits.

I suggest using native segwit(bech32) addresses anyway for your other transactions as the fees are even lower. It's just the case that the wallet that your client is using sucks.
You should avoid using non native segwit addresses, never had any issues with them and works on many different wallets. The one you're trying to use is not a preference of mine and these are the 2 main reasons why (source):
- No automatic password protection and 2FA authentication.
- No customer support.
204  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My guide on Leveraged trading on: August 05, 2020, 09:07:57 PM
Just took a look at your post. Great read. Definitely something some newer (and even more experienced) traders should check out before they lose all their money trading with leverage they can't handle.

"In 1000 steps of 1% like this,
you could turn 0.001 BTC in to more than 20.75 BTC."

Solid advice. But a bit unrealistic for most traders lol.

Definitely deserves a +merit.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Illegal mass adoption on: August 04, 2020, 09:42:02 PM
An amazing story. America is truly a land of opportunity. If he thought of this, I'm sure someone else is doing the same.

I wonder what the real number of illegal bitcoin ATMs in America is, and where it come from. It have to be produced somewhere and the system adjusted, or they buy it on the gray market.
I agree with you that it shows the types of opportunities there are and that can be created where there's potential, though this is not a prime example. This would have been a great business had the person dealt with the regulations diligently. The fact that there was no licence in place makes me wonder whether the malls were part of this entire operation.

As for the guy, there's no way he wasn't aware of the wrongdoing. However, I'm not so sure if prison would be an appropriate choice - I hope not, or at least not for a long time. As I believe nobody deserves to be thrown in prison and be forgotten when in the end we only have one precious life to live.
206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fortnite Betting? on: August 04, 2020, 05:36:03 PM
there is a big/huge interest to see eSPORTS like Fortnite in Olympics Games! (Starting soon with Tokyo 2021).

Ha ha, good old joke. This talks, about adding computer games intro Olumpics is going around 10 years or maybe even more, but for now it's only dreams of some people. And i doubt that they will become true now, later - i think yes, but not now.

And yeah, Fortnite is pure bullshit.

I agree most eGames won't be forthcoming into the Olympics for a long time, the tournaments might get more and more popular though.

As regarding Fortnite, the game isn't trash unlike most games out there this is suited to a sightly different audience and let me tell you that the young ones like it. It may not be for everyone, specially for the more senior gamers but it still keeps you up on your feet.  I guess its a matter of preference.
207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you make `Trading` profitable? on: August 04, 2020, 04:21:54 PM
Let me rephrase my question again for better understanding: Which signals, what techniques, which movement do you consider while making selling decisions so that you always make best possible profit in the given scenario? If I chose right time to sell my futures, I would have made 10 times more profit.

Recently, I've spread myself to investment outside of crypto, into stock and shares and bonds even. It seems to me that one important factor is how long you intent to keep your money in there for. As such if its long term then I just don't bother much as its long terms so any short term losses are ignored.

As for short term, which is the case with crypto and what you're describing I do not have a magic formula but I sell out when it all looks like it will crush. At this point I'll be happy to cut my losses and take the profit I can. Obviously I'm tempted at times but I find that with a little flexibility I can do just fine. This of course requires close attention to trends and it's not 100% but I can make terms with it.
208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ProBit exchange and their poor support system. on: August 03, 2020, 09:45:27 PM
So I am very disappointed with Probit support. So do anyone know how many days require to answer by probit support.I think its not very good for exchange that don't have a live chat support and don't reply messages for 5 days.

And last will probit give me my BNB back or it will lost forever??

I think best course of action for a quicker response is to contact them through telegram or even Twitter. This will bring attention to your case wanting the support them to be dealing with the issue asap. As for you being able to get your tokens back in theory so long as they've been deposited on their exchange and can prove this there shouldn't be a problem - but still best to try your hardest to get back what's yours.

And if after going through it still not possible then at least you know which exchange you'll never be using again.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The total Ethereum fees have been surpassing Bitcoin's fees for a month and 1/2 on: August 03, 2020, 05:48:07 PM
Just by looking purely at the linear graph of ETH transaction fee you can see that the peaks correspond to times when the market on 2 consecutive occasions in 2018 saw a bull market, and now the same this year of 2020 happened.

This is no coincidence. It seems instead an indication of the market situation, just as initially postulated in this thread.

210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trillion-dollar financial group calls Bitcoin an "ambitious store of value" on: August 02, 2020, 10:39:34 PM
Well, that's exactly what it is. But it's also useful as a transactional unit.

Just like gold is an excellent store of value, but can also be bartered for goods and services in some places.

I think Bitcoin is more like gold 2.0. It has both excellent storage characteristcs AND excellent bartering value (something gold doesn't really have).

This essentially makes it money 2.0.
211  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Difference Stock Trading and BTC trading on: August 02, 2020, 09:24:15 PM
I think technical analysis is less effective on crypto markets than it is on stock and forex. The market structure of crypto markets is often completely erratic and no sense can be made from it (although people still try).

I'd stick to fundamental analysis if you plan to trade cryptos, it will steer you in the right direction for medium to long term picks.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi - Which coins have the best fundamentals and still have huge potential? on: August 02, 2020, 08:11:27 PM
Ditto on ORN as @BALIK mentioned above.

I also think STAKE, LEND, AAVE, and CHROMIA have some good potential. None of these (except AAVE) have a large market capitalization.

Beyond this, NEXO tokens provide a nice dividend and are doing decently.

Stay away from Plutus DeFi though, it's all hype.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Pension Fund - Thoughts? on: August 01, 2020, 09:12:48 PM
This type of system for a pension fund isn't going to work well. First, its a pension so the local government would most likely want to interfere with it and that would be difficult to handle specially since they'll also want to introduce regulations around crypto in their country too.

Second, your idea of crypto based pension fund relies on people sending their money for retirement to some other 3rd party which in itself is risky as these people could run off with their money. Based on this idea, the simplest thing to do is create a wallet where your deposit your retirement and handle it all yourself. Applying the same concept, the option I just described above is the safest.

214  Other / Archival / Re: Bank Account Freezed on: August 01, 2020, 06:10:23 PM
Plenty of banks don't allow cryptocurrency purchases or even purchases of blockchain-related goods and services like mining equipment or cloud mining plans.

This is particularly the case when you live in a less free society, such as China and many middle-eastern countries.

This is exactly why you should suck F.U to the banks, and just use DeFi or go full crypto.

Alternatively, you can use one of the myriad crypto friendly bank providers, such as Revolut etc.
215  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: REMINDER: Do NOT use "forum escrows" off-forum! on: August 01, 2020, 02:48:53 PM
Pretty sure a bunch of escrows on here operate a slack channel to manage their escrow deals. They set it up through the forum then finalize it on Slack.

I don't think it's a problem dealing with escrows off-forum, so long as the escrow unequivocally proves that they are in fact the person behind the alias on whichever other platform they're using to complete the deal, e.g. Telegram, Slack, Discord etc.

216  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippines will drop as a Country, Economy on its worst! on: August 01, 2020, 08:56:25 AM
How can you say that the Phillipines has the worst economy?

Haven't you seen how the United States is getting hit worse than anywhere else? They're on a second wave already and will probably have a third and fourth after it.

Even European countries like Spain and Italy are getting smashed. Every economy is crumbling right now, except the ones that were adequately prepared for this, like China, South Korea and Singapore.

Care to list why you think Phillipines is doing the worst?
217  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your opinion on Crypto.com's Earn and Binance's Savings? on: July 31, 2020, 09:41:00 PM
I think they're both good ways to generate a decent return on your investment if you're holding cryptocurrency long term.

You can't match 6-10% interest with fiat currencies, and both of these platforms have an excellent reputation, so you really don't have too much to worry about. Unless they suffer a catastrophic breach, your money is almost certainly safe.

I personally have a good some in Binance savings... Mostly just coins I know I wont need to touch for at least several months, like Bitcoin, Litecoin and some stablecoins.

A few DeFi protocols also offer non-custodial ROIs too, might be worth checking out.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger 1 Mln Users Data Under Attack on: July 31, 2020, 01:04:59 PM
I guess that's the problem with these hardware wallet providers. They're so focused on keeping their hardware wallets and custody solutions safe, that they forget that hackers often target other types of data—including customer personal info.

I highly doubt any of it will be used to successfully scam anyone. After all, Ledger has just sent out an email explaining the situation. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the attacker tries to send out a phishing email under the guise of Ledger to scam victims. The fact they haven't done this already indicates they didn't intend to use the data for nefarious purposes.
219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your plan when Bitcoin will reach a new ATH? on: July 31, 2020, 09:05:59 AM
I'm personally holding Bitcoin until it reaches at least $100,000.

It's either $100,000+ or nothing for me, I'm not selling in-between unless there is some serious bad news that will allow me to short sell BTC.

I'm in it for the long haul.

Once it reaches $100k, I'll take around half out and let the rest ride, as I'm sure it could reach $1m+ at that point.
220  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Too Many Altcoins! on: July 30, 2020, 09:00:50 PM
Most of these altcoins only exist for the sole purpose of helping its creators turn a profit. Despite what their modus operandi is, it's quite obvious that this is the case, otherwise they wouldn't have an incentive mechanism built into their operation.

I try to stay away from any altcoin that already has a successful competitor. If you look in the top 20 by market capitalization, these are mostly the OGs that have a relatively unique use case and actually successfully executed on it. The ones below that are usually copycats trying to step on their turf, and generally failing to do so.
