Shocked  I don't know if this is a false positive or if Jynx has evolved.   Shocked

Gradually the Linux kernel has evolved and doing quite more complex work to modify it to those ends, so currently the most effective way to install a rootkit on a Linux system is to go towards the 'userland'

This kind of rootkits there are two types , or which change the typical binary system associated information (ps and friends) and more sophisticated rootkits inject a library in the process.

Have long existed rootkits acting that way, but had remained somewhat hidden, relatively recently has released a fully functional implementation of a rootkit capable of infecting a Linux system today, his name: Jynx

This type of rootkits act injecting a shared library (. So) in all system processes.

203  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: June 19, 2012, 07:34:19 AM
I've got a gig of RAM this time instead of four and Armory doesn't want to open, 1:15:00 hours and still loading. Is this a hang or normal functioning?

Edit: Going on 3:00:00+ hours and Armory still hasn't opened. Hmm.
Can I just kill python?

Yeah, Rarity’s views are pretty extreme. I think most people that are that against anything fun were abused as a child. I don’t mean like their grandfather fucked ‘em up the ass. More like they lived in an authoritarian community that poisoned their mind with decades of Christian brainwashing.

Things a Satanist might say.

RandomQ has taken GreenBTC too far. You have to draw the line somewhere dude.  Cheesy

Why dont you use intersango?
That's offtopic.
208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What happens if an owner sandbagging his own listing? on: June 18, 2012, 07:01:53 AM
E caveat emptor.

If a miner has a 10 GH/s mining capacity, he's producing ⊅6.35 a day, according to PPS.
30% for electricity, ⊅1.90, 8%-10% for difficulty swings ⊅0.635.
If the existing hardware is paid for that means their is a total of ⊅3.815 available per day.

Let's say someone offers this guy 12 5970's for ⊅672@$5.8/⊅, a decent deal.
This would add 9 GH/s to the setup, giving him an additional ⊅5.76 a day.
Realistically, he has to spend an additional ⊅172.5 to get those 12 5970's running, making the real cost ⊅844.5.
30% of the new mining goes for electricity, ⊅1.73, 8%-10% for difficulty swings, ⊅.58, leaving ⊅3.45.

The total net available is ⊅7.26. If he doesn't take any profit for himself, how much stock can he issue to do this deal?
209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm terrified, I lost all my savings in mtgox. on: June 18, 2012, 05:43:13 AM
Here's my logic:

What reveals a lot, is that wire transfers are lagging same as DWOLLA. If DWOLLA was the problem, but nothing else was, and the funds we gave to MtGox were [safely] stored in the bank, the wire withdrawals would be very fast. But since the wires are lagging, it is not unreasonable to say that there is a FRN shortage.

Under which circumstances could the FRN shortage occur? Exchanges are supposed to accept currency from actor A and bitcoin from actor B and match them up with each other, and take % from a trade. Not spend deposits, keep them as-is, even when at times it seems a good idea to use them, because they DO NOT BELONG TO EXCHANGE, exchange is holding on to them for their own safety and that is the only reason and purpose. If that was the way exchanges worked, there would be no circumstance under which either bitcoin or FRN shortage would possibly happen.

Then, how could FRN shortage occur? a) if funds were embezzled in some speculation. Or, b) if some sizable amount of FRNs was sized/frozen.

If there was a seizure, I would see no reason why exchange would not publicly say so. It's not their fault - bank or government took the money. Personally I would be screaming about it on every corner. Do we hear that? I don't. And the reason why is likely because it never happened.

That's my chain of thoughts on the situation, take it or leave it.

They got caught with their pants on the ground...
It was obvious, though they have tried to hide it now, they were paying only the withdraws that matched the income. The only reason to do this is so they could speculate in their own market with the pooled funds to managing the price or for profit. A few large withdraws are making this speculation, closer to fact.

If they are in fact operating that way, it isn't sustainable when income drops. The shortage becomes apparent when large withdraws appear. What's worse is they can't move Bitcoins they bought if it means selling them for a loss. This effectively locks those coins with a negative value, only giving them access to the break even and positive inventory. The more large withdraws that come in will subdue them until they get choked out.

Right now for Mt. Gox the best strategy is to ignore detractors, respond only to valid claims and focus on righting the listing ship.

Is he building an app that calculates and keeps track of the anonymity bits? I'm interested. O.o

I paid first then gmann shipped. The package got here a little faster than Fedex's estimate. Was packed well, no visible damage.

212  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [605 GH] Eligius: Decentralized, 0Fee SMPPS, no reg, BTC+NMC on: June 17, 2012, 04:36:00 PM
So it was SatoshiDice. I was wondering what had changed to make mining profits so noticeably worse despite difficulty being in previously experienced ranges.
Luke is guessing it is SatoshiDice, it might just be a run of bad luck.

Or it might be a side effect of Eligius accepting non-standard transactions.

Does Eligius include transactions that have not been transmitted/relayed to the rest of the network?  If so, it might be a side effect of that (and if that isn't a side effect now, it might be in the future if Eligius blocks take longer to verify as other nodes need to fetch transaction inputs from disk, instead of already having them in cache memory like transactions that ARE transmitted/relayed).

Is this something that would affect all pools or is this something that could be targeted at specific pools by timing?

214  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you take drugs; or buy them on silk road? Or sell them for that matter? on: June 16, 2012, 04:56:12 AM
Drugs are a multi-billion dollar industry. Do you think that my CIA middleman suppliers are going to allow me to make purchases from Silk Road, thus eliminating them. Not in hells chance. Second, it is much easier to hide your pipeline within the multitude of corporate shipments transiting to the US rather than through a single pipeline like the mail services. The bigger the chain of stores receiving drug shipments the easier to hide the pipeline.
215  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [400GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: June 16, 2012, 04:33:23 AM
Is there any hope that the new code changes will get the long term luck above 90%?  I really like the idea of p2pool, but getting effectively 90% PPS is disappointing. I don't think the pay cut is worth it until the large pools actually start disrupting the network and it seems like claims of Deepbit's evil intentions and such are purely FUD (at least at this point in time).
Following the luck charts will do nothing but increase the confusion when trying to determine the success of p2pool. If you were to base the success of p2pool by the luck charts, you would develop the opinion that p2pool is under-performing. This assumption can be proven invalid by calculating the current equivalent PPS payout and comparing it to the expected value from any Bitcoin calculator that calculates PPS. The equivalent PPS value for P2pool has been above the expected PPS, based on Bitcoins generated per Gigahash, by some 5%-15%. You can say p2pool is doing better than expected and so the luck is good.

Why the fuck did you guys have to start ANOTHER thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76129.0

Can this please be moved to off-topic, it isn't in any way related to Bitcoin Discussion, as much as OP would like it to be.
I did not realize what a storm this would create here. I was basically asking if people knew how to get in touch with those running the website, lawyers, trust funders, what ever, that's all. meh.

I see 6 words

The bottom line states:

I amm Kaput

It's written on a brown grocery store bag paper with purple ink. A ball point pen was not used, possibly a fountain pen.
