He is a do'er. This just means he is busy making units, managing logistics, chips and units. Would you rather he cuddle you and stroke your hair, or get those units built? Dogie your snide tone is actually pretty ironic considering you are making money off of brokering Avalons. Bitcoin is supposed to be built around peer to peer trust, and a lot of people placed a lot of trust (and money) on Avalon. For you to make these kinds of pejorative remarks, insinuating that proper customer support on a $10,000 purchase would be akin to "cuddling and stroking [their] hair" is a bit outrageous. We are talking about millions of dollars here. Customer service is make or break, and people like to be informed about delays which could materially impact their expectations of profit from an otherwise useless SHA256 generator.

I also had plans for those BTC... which are a whopping $7,000 today. C'mon Yifu, we gotta eat bro!

has anyone else received a Batch 3 refund except the one documented case above
|
|

bump -- still haven't gotten a refund.

Can you PM me a copy of the google analytics / ad rev. reports?
Thanks

has anyone else gotten a refund???

The solution is simple: don't run Bitcoind on the same server as your webserver. It's much faster to have it dedicated, and simply connect/issue commands/grab data via API format.

I think we are all being too optimistic on the other companies. They are going to martinfail out on their deadlines, realistically.
Really the reason I chose a refund for Batch 3 was not because of ROI, but because... let's be real, and over-clocked Avalon running fans 100% (4000 rpm) near where I sleep was just about as close to psychological torture as I think I've experienced yet. On one hand, you don't want to turn off the machine because you're losing money, but on the other hand, it's like sleeping next to a jet engine, waking up covered in sweat.
Mining is a professional business.

Has anyone actually received a refund yet?

Irrespective of what may or may not be the ROI of batch 3, Avalon has accomplished tremendous things by making their chips available to the masses. I am sure dealing with a lot of customers as a small team is an arduous and difficult task, not withstanding what is at stake here--the metaphor is so far beyond selling shovels in a gold rush. Ultimately I think the future of Avalon is in engineering the ASIC chips and sourcing them to third parties for assembly and handling the customer.
Regardless, I am 100% sure that if you get a working Avalon and plug it in, you will see ROI. The real question is, do you have the capacity to maintain and manage one of these machines for the necessary time interval? This is not child's play, this is bitcoin mining! If you think that having a device generating 80 billion SHA256 hashes per second in your living room isn't going to have an affect on your life, well....
This is the future my humble friends.

I have put in a refund request as well (just yesterday).
I figure it will be awhile before they process it.
Bump for Yifu!
