How difficult is the install? and approximately how long does it take please. Can this be done with a regular 7.00 soldering iron?

I would not attempt this with a traditional soldering iron. I used a hot air SMD rework station. Temp set to 431C.

Air Pump for the resistors set low to about 3.75 (just enough to blow air out the tip) any higher and you blow the resistor off the board or loosen adjacent components.

Air Pump for the crystal set to 6.5, takes quite a bit of heat to get this guy loose. This is the primary reason for using the rework station.

Air nozzle should be the same size (in diameter) as the component you are working, so you need to swap tips.

Once I got rolling and built up confidence, it would take about 15-20 minutes per board to disconnect, remove old components, install new components and test.

Sidehack, you sir are a genius!! I had no luck with 16.384, but 14.318 worked beautifully and turned all of my V2's into V1 like performers..

No heatsinks required... runs just a little warmer than stock. Notice the single V1 in the upper left corner.

You da man!!

The above are e-mails sent back and forth between myself and AMT regarding my order placed on 2 October.
It is now 6 November, and though I've been told twice to expect shipment, this has not occurred. As of this morning, I still do not have a tracking number, nor has the company reached out to me to explain it's failure to do so. I would have been more willing to hang in a little longer if the company had communicated.

I would advise others to stay away until this company gets it's act together.

I believe AMT will be able to produce product based on what has been presented so far and based on Marto's vouching for them, but I also believe that they are far away from doing so.

My estimation is that you have a bunch of talented guys way in over their head with absolutely no idea as to how to properly run a business.

It bothers me that they can find time to bid on an auction elsewhere on this forum in an attempt to get more bitfury chips, but can't take the time to respond to customer requests, advise on late shipping, or keep their website updated aside from raising the prices. (see their forum post below)

Let's call the Auction over at 18:00, it was daylight savings yesterday and people could get confused.

I filed with Paypal this morning and received a refund of my full purchase price. I hope others have better luck.

So the official shipping day was yesterday. Did anyone get a tracking number?

I'm aware WTCR sells ASICMiner hardware in Canada, but I haven't heard about the product linked above anywhere else.

Has anyone else heard of or seen this?

Hopefully Canary or SSB will confirm/deny.

It is commonly referred to as a 4-pin phoenix connector.

AMT,

What is the pricing of additional modules? How do we order?

How much power does each module consume? I'm guessing 70w per module based on original expected specs.

How many expansion slots are available in the 128 and 192 Ghs chassis?

Can we get a discount for shipping without power supply and opting to use our own?

Are the chassis dimensions still the same?

Can you post a picture of the chassis?

Don't have a preference of whether you answer here or on your website, but inquiring minds would like to know.

211  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: October 25, 2013, 09:44:06 PM
My order # was 399. I'll be looking for a tracking number next week or I'll be inclined to submit a non-delivery claim. My order was placed on the 2nd of October and next week puts it at the 4 week mark. The 80,128 and 192 Gh units were all listed as shipping within 4 weeks.

Up until recently I've been on pins and needles just like anyone else who has laid out serious cash on a pre-order. With that said, I'm aware these units are based on Technobit solutions, and it just so happened that on October 8th, Marto from Technobit published a photos of the hex16b board partially populated, and just yesterday Marto posted photos of a fully populated hex-16b board up and hashing at 40GB.

If these boxes are using hex-16b's and the hex-16b's are up and running, I think it's very feasible for AMT to meet a shipping date very soon.

I still have one concern and that is the number of boards per box AMT listed as shipping in 4 weeks. the 80 Gh unit makes sense (2 Hex-16b's @ 40Gh), but the 128 and the 192 are a little fuzzier. 3 Hex-16b's makes sense for the 128, but the 192 doesn't make any sense 4*40=160. So I'm not sure if AMT intends to overclock the Hex16 boards or not. If they send them out overclocked I'll be a bit disappointed that there is no headroom left to play with  but i'll still be satisfied that i received what i ordered... Guess we'll see.

I hope not to look back on this moment and have a "What was I thinking?" moment, but I'm in.

Order: #399
Product Quantity Price
AMT 192 GHs Bitcoin Miner (#AMT192)
1 $2,349
Cart Subtotal: $2,349
Shipping: $160 via Express Delivery (2 To 3 Business Days)

While I was perusing the site looking at different models, the "Can we help you?" chat window popped up and I had a good discussion with Jim. The conversation was enough to diminish some of my fear, and Paypal buyer protection gives me some other measure of hope, so I placed the order. It's a month turnaround but nearly double the hash rate of the Avalon clone I almost bought today via the TAV auction (I was outbid). I'll follow up with updates. Much more of my concerns will be alleviated if the video is up on Friday.

How does the software side of the unit work? Is it compatible with the current builds of CGminer and BFGminer? Does it have a web interface similar to a blade? If it has its own built in software, does that software support stratum?

If I want to put a heftier power supply in mine, how hard is the swap?

Do these units come with a warranty? How long.
Found that answer

How hard is it to up the chip frequency to 350Mhz as stated in an earlier post?

Are there any diagnostics available to the user as the machine is running?

Is the firmware user upgradable? If so, how long do you plan to continue to support the unit with firmware updates?

SilentSonicBoom,

Thank you! Order placed for 30 miners on 9/24, order received on 9/26. Exceptional seller here. Such a person is a rarity in the world of bitcoin group buy scams where most are more than happy to make off with your hard earned Btc.

You have certainly secured my future business. Thanks again!

Hey, UMP-45.  Been mining on and off for just under a year.  Seems diff will be jumping through the roof in the next couple of months.  Nuts!  If only I could get hardware orders in-hand.  Perpetual waiting game..

Welcome!! I've been lurking for about the same amount of time. I find the current developments very interesting. The numbers are depressing. With a 30% difficulty rise approximately every 10 days, it's going to be very difficult to make serious profit.

Been contemplating much lately... With the astronomical rise in difficulty coupled with serious investment costs in hardware, will the price of BTC skyrocket against fiat currencies?

How long will the trend of increasing difficulty increase before the average person gives up?

What does this mean for P2Pool?

Is the Monarch actually going to ship (man I'd love to have one)?

Which company will be next to get their ASICS on the street? Who's going to be the first with a 28nm process?

So many things to wonder about... I wouldn't consider myself a small fish. I'm ranked #340 on BTCguild hash rate wise (about 113 GH/s)

I'm mainly posting because I want to PM SilentSonicBoom to setup a hardware buy.... Didn't realize you didn't get access to post or PM until you've had a number of valid posts.
