2001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on the Next Crypto Opportunity on: July 10, 2023, 11:55:50 PM
For me, I can see the next cryptocurrency opportunity is a "problem solver".
A project that solves the problem. Most of the cryptocurrencies we have right now are don't have yet any working product, or still not used in real life which for me is a red flag.

So my recommendation is a type of project that already have a "working product", good tokenomics and it is solving a real life problem.

There are tons of tokens out there that tried to solve a real world problem but they are up to no good. Usually, people are not into tokens that have real world applications but “innovations” that will never materialize. That’s how most coin devs get their market and community. Right now, it’s about who got the best word game in the market to get the most customers, not about what they can do with the actual token.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 10, 2023, 11:38:27 PM
You do not need to learn how to gamble, you just need to learn how to take the risks and accept them as they are. In this volatile investment, it's extremely hard to gauge the market's movement because one day, you're seeing greens and the next, you're seeing reds. The only thing that's important is you do not sell at a loss and that's it. No need to play in the markets, get directly involved, or even learn gambling - you just have to hold.
2003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thoughts and attitude towards Bitcoin. on: July 10, 2023, 11:16:25 PM
That's a positive first impression. During my early days here, I only see bitcoin as a meme and nothing more. That curiosity grew when I found out about the 10,000 bitcoin pizza which, at that time was worth $200,000 (2014). I claimed faucets, joined campaigns, and basically did anything to get my feet wet without spending any money on it. Glad I stayed through the ups and the downs, and I'm reaping the rewards because of my subtle curiosity that grew and grew everyday.

No one really knows what will happen to bitcoin's future back then,. All I know is that it can be converted into fiat and it's possible to keep the value of whatever I have with the help of bitcoin.
2004  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 10, 2023, 11:00:51 PM
Emotion is the main driving force on a lot of failed trades. I kinda understand why people trade out of their feelings. If you aren't completely versed in what you're doing, there will be times wherein you will be shaken by your decisions and you will not be sure what the next steps to take are. This feeling of uncertainty is what will drive you to make trading decisions that are bad or are really uninformed. One way to combat this is to do a lot of practice trades with play money, and then learn whatever there is to learn in trading before doing the actual thing. One bad loss can really discourage anyone from trading, but what's a loss if you can convert it to a profit in the long run anyway?
2005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 10, 2023, 10:41:31 PM
As of now, it seems that no team can stop them. But if there will be some changes to the meta and some updates that won't be favorable to their gameplay then that could be their biggest enemy

People have been saying this ever since GG won the 1st Major and look at them now, new patches were released and the whole team just update their gameplay to suit the new patch so unless there is a Major update before TI which I believe there wont be then there is no stopping to GG domination. Pretty sure they are going to be atleast top 2 in TI for sure

GG is really dominant in this patch and there's no doubt about that. Seleri is really great in counter picks and makes sure that they utilize their offlane really well in the early to mid game. They never pick an offlane that is solely for shoving lanes at early game. They also make sure that it can possibly join a team fight early on. What also impresses me about this team is how flexible Quinn can be. This guy used to be a farm-only core role but now he makes sure that their dyrachyo gets something in the map if his farm is lagging behind. Definitely a strong contender in TI if they continue playing the way they do right now.
2006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What attracted you to gambling?Share your experience whether good/bad. on: July 10, 2023, 09:34:30 PM
Those who are experts in gambling would tell you that you're not guaranteed a 100% success rate no matter how skilled or how well you might cliam to have studied the game even though you're a sports Analyst or well informed in a particular sports, gambling has it risks and rewards and most times the risk is greater than the reward, I'll say it's on a ratio of 60:40 that's 60% loss compared to a 40% in winnings, most people newly introduced to sports betting have had several trials yielding losses before they attain jackpot, but it varies because some people are very lucky when it comes to gambling.
Should ambling have come with any guarantees, then we wouldn't have  got the trade no more. You wouldn't find gambling sites out there as, the sportsbook or house can't keep loosing.
Your in business to profit right? If there were any guarantees for gamblers, it would be at the expense of the platform offering the game and that'll be a lose for them.

I don't know how you get to add a win to lose ratio to it but I don't think it's any close to accuracy what you've speculated and I feel it should be way less for wins even.

That's one of the beauty of gambling: uncertainty. Pretty sure some of us here are gambling for the thrill and the uncertainty element in gambling. Plus, the chance that you can win big from something that provides you entertainment? Who wouldn't want to do that? And if you're already enjoying the sport, why not put something on the line and possibly win even more at the conclusion of the event?
2007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Crypto coin Do You Gamble with the Most? on: July 10, 2023, 06:40:10 PM
Using bitcoin to gamble is not really a good thing. I personally convert my funds to XRP or any other coins with low transaction fees and fast confirm times, in anticipation of me winning something and taking it out of the platform and transferring it to the exchange. I don't think of the value of bitcoin or any other crypto going up when I gamble, because I consider those funds as lost already the moment I deposited it in the exchange.
2008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 09, 2023, 11:54:58 PM
However, if you are just looking for the underdog bet, regardless on who will it be or what fight it is then Santiago ML will be enough, just saying.
That's suicidal thinking. Knowing Donaire, I'm sure he still has a lot to offer and can dominate the division. Santiago may be younger, but he doesn't possess the skills and experience that Donaire has. If we're just after attractive odds, we should consider going for a KO per round range bet, as most of the time the odds are higher than +200.

In my sportsbook, Alejandro Santiago's odds are 2.31x and if you're inclined for some adventure in your bets like betting towards the underdog then that would be the line for you as Donaire's line are much lower ranging from 1.5x - 1.7x. Besides, I agree that it would be beneficial for us bettors because I don't think that an upset is going to happen in this fight, I know that it is not a guaranteed win but Donaire's chances are much greater compared to his foe.

I'd take that Donaire's bet just to be on the safe side. While the dude may be older (as I have stated on my previous posts), he still has a lot of techniques and skill developed over the years of boxing professionally. Santiago's relatively young, and though he may have more stamina and can tank more punches, I doubt he can defeat Donaire in terms of speed and footwork. 1.5x - 1.7x odds aren't too bad for a favorite, especially if that favorite is one of the legends in the ring. That defeat to Inoue might have set him back in the eyes of bookmakers, but he is undoubtedly one of the most vicious fighters in the bantamweight division currently.
2009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why most premined coins (>90% of all altcoins) will eventually fail on: July 09, 2023, 11:36:45 PM
Most developers of pre-mined coins usually just stop trying after their product has hit the markets. Unlike ETH and XRP whose developers and creators are active in the community, these devs of other pre-mined coins will simply move on to another project using another name hoping to make a quick buck again. That's the pattern that I recognized on most coins that are left in the dust after being hyped before they hit the exchanges. Sometimes, the community is to blame, too. They view this coin as something that is the next big thing while in reality, it isn't, and they're only shilling for their own gain and, just like the developers, when they already profited, they'll just move on to the next 'big thing'.
2010  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture can save your country from recession on: July 09, 2023, 11:15:34 PM
Agribusiness will always boom, especially if you're a large-scale farmer. Huge companies will want you to supply for them, and you basically can just expand with the contracts that you'll get from these huge companies. If you're a small-scale farmer, you can still create your own products out of the produce that you deem to be not fit in hitting the markets. You can get the scraps off of these harvests and create other products that you can sell for a profit.

There's just a lot of potential to branch out if you have an agribusiness, though it's not always a 'green' investment as acts of nature such as storms or severe flooding can render your crops useless. It's a grind that requires a lot of work, but is worth it in the long run.
2011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 09, 2023, 10:54:29 PM
Norris is driver of the day without any doubt. Overtaking Max on start and then that fight with Lewis - it's incredible how he managed to defend position. P4 for Piastri, it's not podium but still amazing achievement for him. It's also important to mention what pace with hard tyres Mclaren had.

Just goes to show how good some of these drivers are even against a car that is basically unbeatable for the longest of time. McLaren's upgrade and strategies seem to work well. Piastri, a driver that you don't regularly see in the top 5, managed to finish in top 4. And Norris overtaking Verstappen at the start is a sight to behold, and a lot of people surely cheered when that happened but we all know that Red Bull will catch up and get that first place especially with Max on the driver's seat.

Albon finish ahead both Ferrari, I'm not sure this thing shows how good Alex is or how bad Ferrari were today. At one moment several cars went through Sainz so easy, it even looked that he is going so slow because some mechanical issues.

Ferrari has been in a lot of troubles for a long time now. The drivers aren't to blame here; it must be their car or their strategist calling in some poor shots from the sidelines. I feel bad for Sainz and Leclerc. It's as if they're really trying to be in the top spot to which Ferrari is always known to be at, but their car and the people around them doesn't seem to help them get what they deserve at all.
2012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: July 09, 2023, 10:37:15 PM
I always believe that luck in gambling will not come again and again, when I am lucky to get a big win I will not let the winning money be in my account, I will immediately withdraw it then invest in stocks or crypto expecting long term profits outside the gambling platform, we are not will never control ourselves in managing finances if we often splurge.

This is one of the first mistakes, actually. Investing directly on things people do not completely understand. I would first seek the help of a financial advisor if I were you, then take the time to study some of the investments that are readily available to me before I make the decision. I do understand that a lot of us here will readily invest in cryptocurrency at any given time if we have the money. But with huge amounts? It's better to take our time before we click the button and spend something on potential bags that we will hold for a long time.

I'm ambitious being and making more money keeps ringing in my head, I'm not bluffing or trying to say this to make anyone feel better, most of us don't know how to handle and spend money, when it's available, that's the moment we start spending unnecessarily and even go further in buying stuffs that are not important, only to go broke and find out that we need to work, that's the moment we fall back to gambling, and trust me when I say, it's a wrong path. We've been brainwashed into believing that the money system will collapse if we don't look for several sources of it or rely on one source that is completely out of line. Our funds will continue to deplete because we just depend on a single source of income.

Exactly. Most people, when they have access to money, they'd buy things that 'they think' they need, when in fact it's the opposite. The consumerism mindset has been etched deep into our minds that we think everything that we see, we need. Good on you for recognizing that there is a possibility that our funds will eventually go to zero if we spend incessantly and carelessly. Not a lot of people, especially those who are new to having lots of money, know this and recognize it early on.
2013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: July 09, 2023, 10:13:44 PM
It could be like that, although in this time and age, the number of coins in circulation doesn't affect the price action that much. There are a lot of factors that add up to the overall valuation of bitcoin, and available supply is one of them. Say for instance, the lost coins were to be found, would those owners want to let it go at the current price? Would they bring those coins into the market ready for sale? If not, then nothing changed, basically. They are still artificially limiting the available supply of bitcoin in the market by keeping those at their disposal.
2014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 09, 2023, 08:38:46 PM
I know someone that are doing very good with Sport betting, especially Horse racing... and that is his full-time job. He bets on horse racing on a daily basis and he makes good money... so does that make him a gambling addict?

People draw their own conclusions when they hear about people who are gambling professionally..... and in most instances, these people are seeing their gambling as a career.

Other people only view someone as an addict if they are constantly doing something and they are not getting very good results. If you are doing it and you are making a living out of it, you become a professional at that particular activity - even if it's gambling or whatever it is. That's where society draws the line on being good or bad, and it isn't applicable exclusively to gambling; it can only apply to other activities out there wherein addiction can also develop.
2015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: A safe haven in times of economic recession? on: July 09, 2023, 07:03:18 PM
This has been talked about countless of times here in the forum. As I always say, bitcoin can be used as a means to safekeep the value of assets while the world around us is melting. It retains value pretty well compared to other asset classes out there that are susceptible to crises such as this one. Though one thing to keep in mind is that there is no guarantee in bitcoin or any other crypto for that matter. While in the past, it is relatively safe to leave your money in bitcoin and expect that it will still have the same valuation, or sometimes even greater, we can't tell for certain if that will be the case in the next coming years.
2016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance cashback incentive - Would you hold BNB on the exchange? on: July 09, 2023, 06:40:21 PM
The incentive is too small. Traditional banks are already offering more than that so I'd rather stick to those than hold a coin of a platform that is almost always in hot water It's a great way to advertise their debit card to the masses, and actual way of spending your altcoin in buying real world items however, I don't think people are buying crypto for the purpose of spending anymore but rather safekeeping and investing. Perhaps if they could up the cashback percentage to the smaller holders, it might push them to use the debit card.
2017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 09, 2023, 06:14:41 PM
The appropriate punishment would be to ban Pure from joining any official tournament in the future, this is his 2nd time doing something stupid in an official tournament
That ban is what could potentially happen after the major pushing BetBoom out of the last TI invite and it's why nothing is guaranteed for now until we see Valve officially announce the invited teams. Hopefully, they get the final invite because i'd rather see them over Execration as they're the more competitive team.
I think Betboom can still manage to go on TI even without direct invite because they are the only strong team available on EEU since 9panda and Team Spirit already secured their spot. Their problem is when Pure get banned since it's very hard to make an adjustment if Pos1 is the one being replaced.
(....)
Without Pure on their roster, it's not good. We already saw the effect when RESOLUTION became a standin' player in the Bali Major, they lost the series. The chemistry on the team is nothing if they are not complete, that's how they play, they already build relationship to each other while playing, and they already know each other.

But still, TI is 2 or 3 months away. They can still find someone who can fill the role and do some scrims or random games with that guy to get something going for the team. If anyone is to be blamed, it is Pure for doing all the bs and disrespect in official Valve tournaments. BetBoom wouldn't be in a position they are in right now if only Pure didn't do his antics, first at the start of the Ukraine invasion, and second the stream sniping during an official game.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What attracted you to gambling?Share your experience whether good/bad. on: July 08, 2023, 11:59:45 PM
The lack of weekend activities attracted me to gambling. As someone whose daily life revolve around my work and keeping my place clean, I find it boring to not do anything after work, especially on weekends. Being a poster in this forum for years, I tried playing in casinos that regularly have their signature campaigns over. Primedice is the first one to win me over, and that's where everything started. I started playing every weekend, with $10 or $20. Branched out into sports betting and the rest is history. Right now I don't regularly play in casinos, but I still place bets on sports, especially esports and motosports.
2019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 08, 2023, 11:43:28 PM
Meanwhile Betboom made it to TI somehow

Not yet sure with that, waiting for Valve's decision if there's a penalty and minus points for BetBoom.

There probably wont be any additional penalty for Betboom because the team gained 0 DPC points from this Major so its kinda weird to punish the whole team just because a player did some stupid stream sniping. The appropriate punishment would be to ban Pure from joining any official tournament in the future, this is his 2nd time doing something stupid in an official tournament

Valve isn't really letting anyone off the hook for the most part, but they don't punish the team for an individual's doing either. I think it's enough to ban Pure for a long time and let BetBoom look for his replacement. Heck, they still have 3 more months to do that, and I think they can do that. As for Pure, well he's got problems in his attitude even though he's definitely a good offlane player. Such a waste of talent being eaten by ego or whatever the hell is going on with his mind.
2020  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 08, 2023, 11:32:03 PM
With the money I have? I'd rather bet it on bitcoin and other crypto assets. If I have more extra in my name, I'd definitely invest in luxury watches. Heck, the market is ludicrous and there are still a lot of rich guys wanting a timepiece from the past that is no longer under production. That's why vintage watches from even Seiko and Casio are still worth much, sometimes even higher than new releases from Patek Philippe, Rolex, etc.

Diversification is the key. There's no harm in buying watches for safekeeping and investment purposes.
