2001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 12, 2018, 10:08:16 PM
Vitalik, what did you decide about sharding? Is it the best way to achieve scaleability? Will you implement it in Ethereum network?

We now have no one "main net" with sharding technology and people are still doubting a bit. Thank you.

Vitalik was last active on this forum more than 2 years ago so he is not following this topic anymore. You asked this question at wrong place there are so many ways exist to raise this question like Twitter if you really want to know about this.

https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin

is he still giving out free ETHs?   Wink   lol!

of course but you must wear the same cat bag like him at least one day.

send him back a prove (pic with your username and date) via twitter and you will get some free ETH.

guys, could Leslie L. be Satoshi Nakamoto?

there is a link from a post of Satoshi via Vitalik Buterin to him.

he worked from 2001 to 2014 for Microsoft Research which could explain his preference for Windows developement of the first clients.

EDIT: OH MY GOSH, Vitalik Buterin accidental revealed Satoshi Nakamoto!

https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1027972126593015809

I believe it'll be possible for a payment processing company to provide as a service the rapid distribution of transactions with good-enough checking in something like 10 seconds or less.

The network nodes only accept the first version of a transaction they receive to incorporate into the block they're trying to generate.  When you broadcast a transaction, if someone else broadcasts a double-spend at the same time, it's a race to propagate to the most nodes first.  If one has a slight head start, it'll geometrically spread through the network faster and get most of the nodes.

A rough back-of-the-envelope example:
1         0
4         1
16        4
64        16
80%      20%

So if a double-spend has to wait even a second, it has a huge disadvantage.

The payment processor has connections with many nodes.  When it gets a transaction, it blasts it out, and at the same time monitors the network for double-spends.  If it receives a double-spend on any of its many listening nodes, then it alerts that the transaction is bad.  A double-spent transaction wouldn't get very far without one of the listeners hearing it.  The double-spender would have to wait until the listening phase is over, but by then, the payment processor's broadcast has reached most nodes, or is so far ahead in propagating that the double-spender has no hope of grabbing a significant percentage of the remaining nodes.

the idea behind comes from Satoshi himself but applied to txs instead of blocks.

EDIT: uups, accidental revealed a new candiate for Satoshi Nakamoto (no, not Vitalik).

I just wanted to let you all know, that I'm secure enough with myself to admit, that I have absolutely no idea what is going on with Bitcorn prices.

What a ride though. Crazy wild swings.

I can't imagine the financial carnage Bitcorn has caused people trying to play the markets.

just normal. like it was 2014/15/16. dark side of the power wants to have low prices for cheap entries before the next bubble.

What does it mean "Gold bar" its just a joke or really some type of wallet? Like trezor or ledger?

it's like a paper wallet but with much more glamor. he posted a pic where he holds it in his own hands. but the pic is deleted now of course.

...

TREZOR ONE rules!!

That's pretty Brave of you to drop your referral code on us like that.  I mean, you know we have a moderator to nForce the rules.  You're rolling the dice here.  Man... some people never Learn!

JESUS, it is NOT my referral code.

EDIT: referral code starts with "a=". I don't know what "h=" stands for.

Grin Grin

wie bei Kahn das reizwort Klinsmann --> https://youtu.be/OChMxYHW1zA?t=49s

Müsst ihr du mich so erschrecken? Da ignoriert man schon einen User und dann posten andere seinen Avatar in riesengroß.  Shocked
