Interesting slide about the cryptocurrencies Bitmain claims to hold in the context of their IPO: https://twitter.com/Excellion/status/1028426579158884352Monero isn't explicitly mentioned, although Bitmain probably used to mine monero with their Antminer X3 I think. Perhaps off-topic here, but I think it's also interesting to point out that they acquired 179,450 BCC between 31-DEC-17 and 31-MAR-18. That's more than the total amount of bcc that have come into circulation in that period Like half million XMR was mined in time that Bitman mined Monero with ASIC. At best if not sold any could get half of that half million. But for sure they have plenty of XMO In the recent IPO report of Bitmain, it seems Bitmain does not have mined any Monero. They could have them under other crypt currencies. In any case I doubt there is any bigger amount in Bitmans holdings. On other hand right now is time for anyone rich to grab some bigger amount of Monero holdings. i'm starting a PUMP FUND for promoters...whos with me? /\xmr===>choo choo

RVN profit takers why? :\ meh
That is strategy of the big miners who always try to cover the expanses to pay their debt. But if we can cash this chance than we must do this before it get too late. This coin has good roadmap and their is still very promising. i'll buy a few under 300! >>> birdcoin to moon!!

No answer to this still? Hm It would be nice to see the devs step in and explain what is going on. There seems to be no end to this freefall. I am a holder and so far the ride has been exciting but not fun. It’s not just btx - the entire alt market is collapsing, along with bitcoin. Volatility is to be expected in this industry, at least short term. Sell or hold - but get used to it and don’t blame the devs. Bitcoin Instant seeing alot of the best developers fleeing these wanna-be bitcoin projects ~ BTI is where smart money is going weeeee ===> https://freiexchange.com/market/BTI/BTC

How would we know if that was true? Hang on... I suppose we could look it up in the Monero rich list... i bet they mined with asics before the fork lol No shit captain obvious. XMR is like hella better than bcash .. moon-ero you can buy fairey dust!! lol

I just wanted to let you all know, that I'm secure enough with myself to admit, that I have absolutely no idea what is going on with Bitcorn prices.
What a ride though. Crazy wild swings.
I can't imagine the financial carnage Bitcorn has caused people trying to play the markets.
isnt this what we signed up for? the wild ride? i mean who wants to be bored. Volatility is my friend. Every round of priceDownUp puts another bit of BTC and BCH in my pocket. As long as the long term trend remains up (long term as in 4-year cycle), I am a happy camper. BCH is doomed weeeeeel! = bcash game over

BCH is the biggest threat to BTC and LN is the biggest threat to all of crypto. As BTC falls in this bear market it will give BCH plenty of chances to take marketshare and decouple.
read that. https://medium.com/@btcWolves/a-bch-update-bitmain-bch-the-ipo-what-it-all-actually-means-354220b86ac3and tell me there's anything credible about this coin at the moment. they've tried every trick in the book. they all failed. looks like bitmain have thrown away hundreds of millions of dollars attempting it. the best thing they can do is let nature take its course, keep working on the actual functionality of the coin and if it turns out great then the market will agree. smoke and mirrors will only get you so far. bitmain needs to be brought to justice lol = bitch ass airdrop when? weeeee

Someone else’s goose is cooked. Bitmain has received $US450 million in funding from investors including Sequoia, GIC, and IDG Capital. BTC TREASON! LOL

|

where's the Bitcoin Cash plunge protection team? It reached 0.079893 BTC on Binance. This is unacceptable!! BCH needs to be at 0.1 BTC minimum the whole time!! dump eet ! Verhole™ tokens are dogshit™ !!

Monero hovering around $80, down over 30% in the past 7 days. Crazy
Best time to buy Monero when the coin has dropped to its yearly bottom (or somewhere around its yearly bottom). It's best chance to start accumulating more Monero into portfolios at its very low price range. however, investors should be careful a little bit because current price range of Monero has still been much higher than its figures at the same period last year. best time to buy drug coins is right before you need a bag of shit lmfao

I was a bch trader last year, the hype of the dragon slayer, bitmain, flippening etc. It's clear a year down the line Bch will never overtake Btc, in fact i won't be surprised if it eventually slips out of the top ten. There may eventually be a flippening of btc, even that's doubtful but it won't be done by Bch.
The market is burning undesirable toxic trash like Bcash and Dash into worthless ashes, just like it did to Paycoin and Bitconnect. Wormwood™ tokenz sir ..r u new here? *bitcoin jesus walks on water* weeeee

But what if the decentralized part of the network is so small comprising of very few nodes, and the centralized part of the network is bigger comprising of the mining cartel, the top Bitcoin merchants, and their Sybil attack nodes?
I think you need to think about what you are asking. How could 'the decentralized part' have 'very few nodes'? By definition, very few nodes would be rather centralized. Does that not prove that number of nodes matter?
No. Not at all. Or at the very least the ability of users to run nodes should not be taken away from them?
With this, I would agree with you. But this is not a consequence of anything in your hypothetical, it is a matter of philosophy. Good thing that the permissionless design of Bitcoin ensures that all that want to are able to operate a non-mining validator. Ronald Ver should be charged for BITCOIN TREASON muhahaha
