2021  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 08, 2023, 11:32:03 PM
With the money I have? I'd rather bet it on bitcoin and other crypto assets. If I have more extra in my name, I'd definitely invest in luxury watches. Heck, the market is ludicrous and there are still a lot of rich guys wanting a timepiece from the past that is no longer under production. That's why vintage watches from even Seiko and Casio are still worth much, sometimes even higher than new releases from Patek Philippe, Rolex, etc.

Diversification is the key. There's no harm in buying watches for safekeeping and investment purposes.
2022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: July 08, 2023, 11:20:13 PM
Winners of huge sums of money don't understand that their money will literally run out if they don't do something that will generate them more money. It's something that, once you have money, you won't ever think about. But if you have a mindset that feels like you'll always need more money, you'll make more and you'll never run out. Also, don't splurge like your money is never ending; it will always have its limits. Lastly, get a financial advisor - it's worth it, if you don't know how to handle your finances.
2023  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Latest Survey : Crypto Ownership Sa Pilipinas Bumagsak Mula 50% To 19% on: July 08, 2023, 11:00:26 PM

Im not even sure if the team will terminate his contract after this foollish thing that he had done
Their rulebook did mention that he could be banned for five years and maybe Valve will be the one to give the punishment after the major.

I wonder what Valve is going to do but his career is definitely over this time. He was also kicked out of VP before for drawing Z on the minimap which shows support for Russian invasion like a year ago. A talented young player but seems to be abit problematic for sure and he might have been doing this type of stream sniping throughout his entire career though. God knows he could do that in DPC for sure

Meanwhile Betboom made it to TI somehow

So who's going to replace Pure? They really need to get someone that matches the offlane's gameplay, or at least more aggressive while also survivable since Pure is doing a lot on that department before the stream sniping incident. There are a few names I can think of that are currently free agents, although I'm not sure about the ruling of Valve regarding adding new players to the roster a few months before the event. They can still scout for some talented pubstars out there, though. They still have time after Bali major - lots of it.
2025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 08, 2023, 10:22:34 PM
If they are getting positive returns on what they're doing, they wouldn't be called as addicts but more of a professional. If they, however, aren't getting anything from what they're doing, they wouldn't be branded as an addict that fast. If they are really in the 'no hope zone' wherein they are already selling a lot of things to satisfy their gambling needs, perhaps you can call those ones the addicts which will do anything and everything just to get their fill.
2026  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My hard experience with Bittrex, be aware of their validate request on: July 08, 2023, 10:00:27 PM
People have stopped dealing with bittrex for months before their official closure. Perhaps the one you spoke with is one of their representatives whom still have access to the platform's services and cheated you out of your money. Or it's possible that they are also fake people trying to imitate the official support of Bittrex for you to gain trust on them blindly. Be wary of these people trying to agin access to your account using unconventional methods like this. Official customer supports from platforms don't ask these information as they probably have access to it and would want you to confirm questions, not you giving every information to them.
2027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think at some point government will change its stand and adopt Bitcoin? on: July 08, 2023, 09:50:17 PM
Bitcoin is giving Blackrock too much publicity right now, hence they want to make sure that they don't lose the charm of the public with it by letting go of the ETF. Also, with the positive reception of the masses to what they're doing with the ETF, they know that they can make a lot of money with it that's why they're trying to push it with all their might. They're an entity trying to make more money, so it makes sense that their perseverance on the matter is really high. The governments however, they don't have anything on bitcoin yet. They are still reliant on banks making them money and bitcoin is something that could change that. They are still trying to weigh their options before going full steam with bitcoin. Í
2028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 08, 2023, 05:38:32 PM
Nice to see both Mclaren in Top 3, especially Piastri - I think that not many saw such outcome coming.

I don't even see Piastri as a contender in the top 5, even, but whatever McLaren is doing in their team, it's doing really well. A lot of unfortunate slips and slowdowns happened in this qualifying, and you can see who has the better strategy and better driving skills in wet conditions all in all. Those two McLaren's are either lucky or they just have the better drive this day, though I'm sure it's the latter.
2029  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some poker terminologies you may want to know on: July 07, 2023, 11:45:38 PM
I watch WSOP just for the lulz and there are some terminologies out there that I don't know the meaning of that I found here. It's not entertaining to watch something then they spew out terminologies you don't understand, and then you will take the time to search for it only to find out that something happened and you miss it. I always wondered if what I thought of Bloodbath is right, that people will get involved in a crazy turnaround or just get busted in the process. Turns out I was right with what I was thinking for once.

Thanks for this, OP. I never play poker, but I do love watching how these people can be so calm in the middle of a tense moment wherein they can literally lose all of their money in one go.
2030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 07, 2023, 11:33:56 PM
Even though we have scraped and collected data from past events on sports, there are still quite a few exceptions that will make the 'informed' bet lose. Say, there are last-minute injuries or changes to a team's composition which will definitely affect how they play, that is already something that will make a bet lose no matter how close your informed bets are to the statistics the teams are presenting. There are outliers, and there are also just some bets that were analyzed too much that simple factors were missed which makes the bettor lose. Also, chasing losses and losing self-control helps in making the bettor lose their bets. Overall, there's just a lot of factors out there that will definitely hurt the bettor in sports betting. Some say that luck isn't a factor in this type of gambling, but truth be told, it still is.
2031  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: July 07, 2023, 11:16:19 PM
The Rich/Government has used money as a tool to oppress the poor in a way that they practically use it to control everything in the world with the help of financial institutions.

The high class as they are called has maintained dominance in everything, not to be bitcoin biased or cynical, but in this case, I see Bitcoin as the alternative to this controversy and if we want to eliminate the power that is intoxicating us, then we must advocate for alternative means, Bitcoin as a currency without any central control will handle this menace in a manner that everybody will have power, control and self custody of their bitcoin, the market forces will now depend on more individual investments in it and group or institutional adoption, just imagine making Bitcoin handy and accessible to the populace.

I think the world will be a better place without notice or segregation between the rich and the poor if Bitcoin is embraced fully since Bitcoin is not a currency of a particular country everyone has the equal right and power to either store it or use it.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with eliminating social inequality. Even after Bitcoin gets adopted worldwide, there will still be rich and poor, banks and governments will own bitcoin and be in control. So don't let this idea fool you.

True. It gave a chance to those who already have the $$$ to try it out and invest on it before it blows up, yet that's still not enough to change the statistics of the number of poor and impoverished people worldwide. It used to be a tool to combat wealth inequality for a moment, but since not everyone knows about it at a time when it's literally not that expensive, only a few people managed to grab the opportunity and benefit from it.

Bitcoin will never solve wealth inequality. It will only create new millionaires, but not enough to tip the scales to our favor.
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 07, 2023, 10:38:06 PM
That's just a disgrace to the sport they will partake in. Imagine natural talents who hone their skills for years and years being beaten in records by doped guys? Not gonna happen. I wouldn't try to bet on this event too, as it's just a recipe for disaster to my bets because you'll never know who's the better dope user. No one will take interest on this betting-wise, though we don't know about the curiosity of some people out here, they might want to see this become a reality.

Tried it with my brother's account sa coins and yun yung nangyari sa kanya a day after receiving the funds from another exchange.
2034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 07, 2023, 09:55:27 PM
A lot depends on the genes of the parents. You can be very vulnerable to gambling and it will be extremely difficult to get out of it. And for some, on the contrary, it's easy. I was close to starting to lose exponentially, but I stopped in time and ended it more than 5 years ago.

A few days ago I came across a youtube channel in which people tell their real stories about gambling that ruined their lives. I'll probably learn from their mistakes. If someone has a strong addiction, look, this will help you.
Maybe in some cases, but generally, addiction is not a genetic problem, and someone with a very simple life can have a child who might become an addict of maybe gambling or anything else. The main thing that matters in this is the environment they are raised in, and the people they are friends with or see around them all the time. A child who doesn't see things like alcohol, drugs, or gambling, for their entire life until they are young and mature, would never be vulnerable to them.

But on the other hand, a child who sees all these things from their initial days will be more likely to get indulged in these things and will surely be too vulnerable to addictions such as gambling or alcohol or any other dangerous stuff because they've been living through them all their lives.

It's literally the environment that creates these problematic gamblers in our society. if they grow up in an environment wherein they see gambling as normal, and literally everyone around them is making it seem like it's okay to be involved in gambling even if it already affects you in a negative way. As a child, it's extremely important to be exposed in an environment that is not going to turn into something that is negative when you grow up. It is the parents' duty to keep their kids out of the behaviors and habits that could potentially ruin them as they grow up.
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino on a cruise ship? on: July 06, 2023, 11:59:50 PM

Casino on a cruise ship? This isnt something new and it had been existing for a while. There might be known but there might be those places which arent heard of but do really exist out.

Those who love to play in casinos will always pick cruise ships with casinos so they will not miss playing while traveling, and there's a different experience playing in Cruise chips because you have limited time and you want to exhaust your time playing because, after the ship docks, it will take time before you can come back playing in this casino.

The management always knows that there are people who love to play in casinos so Cruise ships also make money from these gamblers on their cruise ships.

I guess people with money and time to enjoy these amenities in the cruise ships will be the only ones playing on that part of the trip. Most people will surely enjoy the view, take pictures, or experience other places instead of playing. Well, some may even try it out just for the hell of it, but you are in a cruise ship for a reason, and while it's attractive to play while traveling, that's not really the main reason why a lot of people paid extra big to be in one.
2036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin halving next month - worth investing? on: July 06, 2023, 11:51:04 PM
Litecoin is pretty much a sidelined coin right now. There aren't any major upgrades for the past few years and there are no known events for litecoin that are lined up in the near future except for the halving. It still has a thriving community though, but not big enough to influence the price in such a way that it goes big afterwards. I guess if you already have the coin, it's good to wait for a the halving and react based on the market movements. Or if you're looking to buy in, do it in amounts that you can shoulder if it ever goes bust.
2037  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: July 06, 2023, 11:23:17 PM
do you all agree that with the emergence of fast transportation now, the economic turnover is also getting faster, this is based on the fact that any delivery will be distributed quickly, automatically it will make the price of living necessities and kind remains stable as long as it can be distributed quickly!

It's mostly a marketing campaign by Dominos.

Cheap transportation is what's critical. Increase the cost of energy, and naturally everything else will increase in price dramatically. If a country wants to spur up economic activity, subsidize energy costs for businesses and/or export energy if there's a surplus. When Europe had its energy crisis in 2022 following the invasion of Ukraine, energy prices were one of the key metrics that caused businesses to increase their operating costs.
true, it's part of the dominos Pizza promotion, but I'm sure what they're doing will inspire many people, especially those with F&D businesses that require fast and efficient delivery

apart from that, if we talk about cheap energy, it will also be very important for the sustainability of the economy in a country, this encourages innovators to continue to develop electric vehicles and if it continues to develop, it is not impossible that in the next few years, we will see electric power jetpacks, no longer depend on fossil energy

Jetpacks are possible today but not with electricity. We're still long ways away from that although the technology to research it is already there. Honestly, jetpacks are a lot better as a means of individual transportation if you're going to ask me, although the government would be needing to write a whole new book of regulations just to keep it under control. Also, that tech would most probably be available to the rich guys, and for us regular people, we'll have to stick with public transportation and our own cars/motorcycles.
2038  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 06, 2023, 11:00:19 PM
My question is, what big purchase could we see Elon Musk likely make this year?
To really find out what next that Elon musk is going to buy or acquire, we have to first study the ones he already acquired, what moves did he make before acquiring twitter and so on, this I believe that if we can solve the mystery there, we can probably be able to guess what  other big investments Elon is about to pump money into

But then, if we must be truthful to ourselves, I would simply say that, there is absolutely no way to know what Elon is about to invest in except he give a hint about it.
Without Elon giving any hint it is impossible to understand what is his plan of acquiring. It looks like he won't be focusing much on acquiring. The launch of threads is a big competence for Elon Musk and he'll be focusing on making Twitter stronger than the past. With big shout Meta have come up with a new product that is to give freedom of speech.

Seeing the direction Facebook and Messenger went, I doubt there'll be a lot of freedom of speech on the said platform. If anything, it could be another platform wherein Meta will just collect information from its users and use that data somewhere else. The said company is just farming people's information at this point, and pushing them ads to get more revenue. Threads is, IMO, the current hype that everyone will try for the first few weeks, but people will still crawl back to twitter given how much they know the platform and how 'transparent' its owner is currently.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 06, 2023, 10:37:40 PM

This is probably the stupidest thing that a pro player can do in an official tournament. They are a pretty good team even without the stream sniping and has a good chance to get to top 2 atleast, they needed just few more DPC points for the direct TI invite but that stupid action cost them the team everything. Im not even sure if the team will terminate his contract after this foollish thing that he had done

One of the bravest, too. Valve does not take cheating lightly on their official tournaments. They usually go for bans on all Valve-sponsored tournaments for a long period of time or sometimes permanently. Idk what came into Pure's mind in doing this, and idk why their coach or their co-teammates didn't bother stopping him from doing this. They are a pretty good team without the assist of stream sniping, and they are really good in reading strats in their most recent games and tournaments. I'll be watching the development of this closely because disqualification isn't something that Valve is a fan of. This might escalate into a ban for surw.
2040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: July 06, 2023, 10:23:48 PM
Another controversy Pure of BetBoom has got in. In the stream of their match against Tundra, it was seen that he was stream-sniping while the game was paused. It was known too that he got into controversy by drawing "Z" on the map. As they've won against Tundra, their won and place in the upper bracket have been forfeited and they're now in the lower bracket facing Azure Ray. And another drama was in, AR don't want to play with them unless they're banned. If no action taken, they'll just forfeit the game.

Pure needs to get sanctioned and not play for the rest of the tournament. I guess that's enough of a punishment for now, though Valve would really be the ultimate judge, jury, and executioner for this unsportsmanlike behavior from Pure. We saw them going so far as banning the player for life for much lesser offenses, although they have become more lenient in recent times so that I believe it will be a lesser sanction.

Also, Azure Ray demanding a ban isn't really sportsmanlike too. The previous game does not concern them, and they still have time to prepare against BetBoom minus Pure so it's just them being too demanding for a ban when Tundra themselves don't see it like that.
