2021  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 23, 2016, 08:33:25 PM
asteroid mining is a nice idea but just a pipe dream at the moment.

Be interesting to see how much an oz of space gold would cost Smiley

Quote
The recent study released by the Keck Institute for Space Studies on the feasibility of retrieving a 7m asteroid and bringing it to Lunar orbit estimated the cost at $2.6 billion. That does not include the cost of mining!

If you have an advert on localbitcoins thats great, why come crawling here to sell?

Right now bitcoin is very small and you can't compare it to gold!
Whole world standing behind gold reserves.
Maybe someday bitcoin will become more adopted, but i doubt he will ever be so strong to attack a gold!

Yes, you are right. BTC is very small and weak.
But it is very easy to invest in BTC. I think thats why I prefer BTC.

Gold is easy to invest in.

I bet I could get a large sum of cash in to gold quicker than you cold get a large sum of cash in to bitcoin!
2026  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Lucky coin Idea on: January 22, 2016, 09:09:29 AM
Ill take one and try my luck.

I am in the UK too, any chance you could take bank transfer or paypal gift (fully verified) for payment.
2027  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Group Buy! - ANTMINER S7 BATCH 9 - 995 - Ends feb 3rd on: January 22, 2016, 08:47:57 AM
Why start multiple "group buy" threads offering different miners when you haven't resolved any of the issues raised in the first thread?

2029  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: January 21, 2016, 04:14:01 PM
Gold is not stable now compared to it's previous prices and has fallen massively "compared to how it used to move before", BTC is a good investment but not one where you would put all your savings, Stocks are too risky and banks are not trustworthy...

I think you'll find bitcoin has fallen a greater % than gold from its all time high.

Gold price is also currently on the up.
2030  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 21, 2016, 01:52:18 PM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.
i will convert all my wealth to bitcoin,ot gold. i have some reason, gold is risky, its hard to keep gold in "not safe" country, robber everywhere, but bitcoin is more safe, its online stored, and i think bitcoin ease to trade than gold.

You are wrong mate, you can convert and have it as gold in bank where interests will be paid for you. But bitcoin is not of that if you invest and the value needs to get increased for earning. There is no security in the investment of bitcoin but when it comes to gold it is centralized, so if something happened we can demand for it.

That is true that you cannot earn interest on bitcoins, but the thing is that you can earn huge profits in trading bitcoins which gold can never offer you, everything has its own advantages and disadvantages, if we look at history then gold is safe investment and bitcoin is a bit risky investment, but people who believes in quick profits would surely invest into bitcoins.

But you can also loose a huge amount of cash also, people that only focus on the potential profits and not the potential losses are nothing more than gamblers.
2031  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 18, 2016, 07:38:18 PM
Gold is boring, stagnant, old, weights too much, smells like hell, it's just a piece of shinny metal that girls and rappers like.
Bitcoin is smart, clean, can adapt, exciting, and looks towards the future.

How many currencies throughout the ages has gold outlast.

Bitcoin is great but gold will still be a store of wealth after bitcoin is dead, gone and forgotten.

2032  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 18, 2016, 06:36:50 PM
I would do the same I have done now; 99% on bitcoin, 1% on gold.

No but seriously I am not that interested in gold. I do happen to have some right now but as said the amount is maybe 1% if compared to the bitcoin amount. Cannot see why I would get any more interested on investing gold so I think it would stay the same. Most on bitcoin.

You have basically got 1% class A asset and 99% penny stocks.

Not exactly a sound investment strategy Smiley

Escrow =

A trusted 3rd party.

If I was buying from you -

I would send money to trusted 3rd party.
You send me goods.
When I get goods I tell Escrow to give money to you.

p.s. The russians do make some really nice gold coins but they dont come cheap in the UK
2034  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Precious metals and not only on: January 17, 2016, 05:53:08 PM
no one will pay you any money in advance, not even "shipping money"

Escrow will be a must.

I suggest you buy one or two small coins and sell them to build trust and some trade history.
2035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global crisis... on: January 17, 2016, 05:24:13 PM
First of all we are not heading towards a global crisis. The mistakes of 2009 will never be repeated since we have new laws in place to prevent that from happening. Rather this is a time of declining markets, it is in fact a good time to buy stocks because of the dropping price. This market low will definitely rise back up. In 2009 many stocks crashed, that is when I purchased 1000s of shares for cheap prices I then sold them for a pretty penny in 2014.

I think we are on the edge on global crisis.

Fed talk of negative interest rates.

No cargo ships in the North Atlantic transporting goods for the first time in recent history.

How much cash has been pumped into the system since 2009 via QE to artificially prop up the system - just further to fall when it stops.

2036  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: PayPower Canada done at best rates and with fastest approvals. on: January 16, 2016, 08:04:08 PM
Why did everyone decide to resurect a random thread from Oct 2014  Wink
2037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global crisis... on: January 16, 2016, 07:34:29 PM
Nah, not that bad.  I think a lot of what's going on in the market is related to the recent interest rate hike--at least in the US.  If money gets more expensive to borrow, stock prices generally go down.  I don't think what we're seeing is anywhere near as bad as the great depression.  Not even 2009 was that bad.

You think this is all down to a 0.25% raise in interest rates.

3.17 trillion dollars wiped off global stocks so far this year.

The fed has stated they will consider negative interest rates.

Not that bad lol.

A lucky miner but run out of money - doesn’t quite add up.

You have been here long enough to know you need collateral for a loan

2039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Dead" - Mike Hearn on: January 16, 2016, 10:43:44 AM

I don't care that you are getting "out" of BTC, I would rather know what you are getting "into"

Funny, but none of these articles seem to mention that infonugget?

Who is the big winner today?

FIATCOIN?

FIATCOIN to the MOOOOON!!!!!!

Gold - added a few more oz since I took this pick of my stack Smiley

2040  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is just the beginning of the end. on: January 16, 2016, 10:26:14 AM
As I stated in another thread -

Dont worry it gives the "Its the bottom, great buying opportunity, buy now or regret it!" guys some fresh ammo lol

Never get emotionally attached to an investment, know when its time to sell and dont get too greedy.
