2041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Used Computer Equipment For CryptoCurrency Unsafe? on: June 05, 2019, 02:13:08 AM
Well you say laptop charger has no issue.

What about say a powerbank for your laptop?  Example those things that you buy where it gives you power to your laptop when you have no outlet?  I seeen some where you connect it to the same power slot on your laptop... but i also believe they have some that connect to a usb-c port if im not mistaken?

So is buying a used powerbank safe in either of those cases?  S

Hey all... its syncing now.  But it looks like it will take a long time to sync entire thing.

Can someone confirm here if i could have beancash sent from exchange to my bean cash core v1.1.2.2RC wallet right now even if its not fully synchronized?    When i click on the receive beans tab, it shows my beancash wallet.  Can i have beancash sent from exchange to it right now even though my wallet is not fully synched yet?  I read that you can do this.. but no beancash will show up until the wallet is fully synced.  Can someone confirm this?

Thus its safe to have beancash sent from exchange to this beancash wallet even if its not fully synced?
2044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean is Now Bean Cash | First v3 POS | First 20MB Max Blocks | 3+ Yrs. on: June 04, 2019, 02:05:53 AM
Okay there seem to be 1 active conneciton.  Its syncing and only 2 percent and it does seem that it would take a few days to sync it.

So right now, i can close the beancash wallet.  Then follow those instructions i pasted earlier... then that would allow me to sync it in 1 hour... can anyone confirm this?  However, i only have 1 active connection... so this would not work?  It shows 1 active connection to the beancash network while its syncing now.

In the beancash qt folder all i see is

beancashlogo
beancash-qt
readme
readme.md

Where in the world are these in the folder?

Make sure you are able to synchronize with the network and are getting more than one connection.

Encrypt your Wallet with a Passphrase using the Menu -> Settings -> Encrypt Keys (or Encrypt Vault).

Backup your Wallet using the Menu -> File -> Backup Keys (or Backup Vault).

It is recommended to make at least two backup copies to offline media (USB drive/devices).

Stop Beancash-qt (or BitBean-qt) from running with the Menu -> File -> Exit.

Open the Folder where you put BitBean.conf (if you are running newer Bean Cash version, this file should be renamed to "Beancash.conf", not "BitBean.conf") originally and delete all subfolders and files except: BitBean.conf, peers.dat, wallet.dat

Download this file and save it to the same BitBean folder as the files you kept.

Extract the contents of the .zip file to the same .BitBean folder.

Select Skip/Keep Original when prompted to overwrite the original peers.dat file.

After the extraction is complete, restart Bean Cash Core (or BitBean-qt if you have the older version).

2045  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: NEED HELP BADLY! FEDS SIZED 50K CASH and 1BTC FROM HOME WITH SEARCH WARRANT. NY on: June 04, 2019, 12:51:25 AM
Okay so i believe i read it incorrectly... so you had cash and wanted to buy btc right?  You bought btc from others with cash few times.  But he offered you up to 10 percent discount for his btc for your cash?  Did you once ever bought btc from him?

So he offered like 55k worth of btc for 50k cash then?  If you cash is legit... what is the issue here?  How is that different from putting 50k on coinbase and buying 50k worth of btc there?  He also gives you a discount so now you are buying it at a discounted price which is good for you.  If your money is legit, what is the problem here?
2046  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: NEED HELP BADLY! FEDS SIZED 50K CASH and 1BTC FROM HOME WITH SEARCH WARRANT. NY on: June 04, 2019, 12:48:04 AM
Were you the one selling btc for cash or vice versa?  Im a bit confused with your wording so i assume you are selling btc?   So you didnt want to sell your btc to him but he basically baited you to sell and give you a good percentage a few times?  Example you sell 5k worth of btc for 5250 usd cash?

I mean if you sell btc for cash... then deposit cash in bank and report it in your taxes, what is the issue here?  I believe if you are a bitcoin trader like doing face to face... you need a license.  But aren't those only if you do it frequently?  If you sell bitcoin for cash a few times... that is not your full time job....

Can someone clarify this?
2047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Beancash Wallet No Active Connections? on: June 04, 2019, 12:40:20 AM
I have beancash in an exchange that i need to send to a wallet because they are no longer serving my location.  So i need to have the coins sent from out of there.

I went to beancash.org and downloaded the wallet.  However, when i do this, the wallet doesn't show any active connection.  Also shows its out of sync.

I posted this in the beancash thread.  This wallet is extremely confusing.  it takes at least 3 days to synchonize it but i will make it faster as there is option to do this which take 1 hour or so.  But i cannot get this wallet to work.

Anyone here has beancash wallet can tell me what to do?

I downloaded the windows 10 64 bit newest version of beancash v1.1.2.2.

Then i got windows firewall that ask make it private or public... i change it to private.  But then i went to windows firewall to allow these connections.

I still cannot get an active connection.

Can someone tell me how i fix this issue?

It shows in bottom right 0 active connections to the beancash network.  Is that how its suppose to be?  Because does it have to do with my settings?

I need to have my beancash transferred from exchange to this wallet...

Can someone tell me what am i doing wrong here?

2051  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Has someone filled out the new verfication questions for Bitstamp? on: June 04, 2019, 12:16:49 AM
All banks, Insurances, websites offering financial investments and alike ask these questions to everybody. In some countries (I think in the whole EU) it's even a law in, order to oblige companies to inform consumers of the risks of capital loss. I filled these questions so many times in different places, even on a crowdfunding platform.

I've never done it once in my entire life and I'm in the EU too. Perhaps it's a Euro thing. The last thing I opened was putting several thousand pounds into an investment vehicle. All they wanted was address and ID like all the other ones before it.

Here the first ever question asked is: Are you American? They ask for your annual income, the total amount invested in different places. They even ask you how much you pay per month for your house. Isn't that crazy? What my apartment cost has to do with my interest to spend some money on an investment? For fun, I remember one asking me if I was famous, or know someone famous.

So if you are American, they ask you these questions on bitstamp form?

Okay i think i messed this up.  I want to synchronize it much faster and not take days to download whole thing.

1.  Downloaded beancash windows 10 64 bit current version

2.  I then clicked on file and backup keys and saved the dat file.  But did i need to first encrypt the keys with a password first before i do this?  Can i do this afterwards?  I see the instructions below on how to do this faster.

So as of now, do i encrypt it with a passphrase... then backup keys?  Then i delete the old backup keys because i did not put a passphrase first?

I clicked on file, backup keys then saved the dat file to my computer.  I need to put a passphrase like a password right?  Thus if i do that, then you need it to open the wallet?  So make sure you write that down?  Because having the just the dat file is not good enough correct?

How do i sync the wallet?  There is no option to sync anywhere on the wallet...

1 vostok is worth 0.36 waves at the moment?
2056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Waves the Most Overrated Altcoin? on: June 03, 2019, 07:57:47 PM
Waves hasn't done anything at all...
2057  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will happen if BTC hit 1.000.000$ on: June 03, 2019, 07:56:25 PM
Wouldn't this be a big concern because if it happens... then too many millionaires?

Thus being rich isn't a big thing anymore?  Example say someone has 5 btc.  That would be 5 million dollars... that is rich no matter where you are located.
2058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Vostok Price? on: June 03, 2019, 07:55:24 PM
I got vostok from having waves and wct in the airdrop.  I checked on the waves exchange and it seems 1 vostok is worth 0.36.  Can anyone here confirm this?

Does anyone know the price history of vostok when the airdrop occurred?
