2041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 22, 2023, 05:45:13 AM
The real beneficiaries are the ones behind this match-fixing and it doesn't usually start with the players but with those big gamblers behind them.
The players are being used and gets paid for their participation but it isn't big compared to what these gamblers are getting from these fixed matches.
As for the government, if there's a government that's involved in match-fixing then that's truly a corrupt administration.

You can't eradicate this problem if bigwigs are the ones involved on this activity.
And definitely, not only in Brazil but in other countries as well, but it will be in minor leagues.
Hard to manipulate a game without controversy if they play this game in major leagues.
This is why most fixed games can be observed in small leagues where these bigwigs can put a good amount of money.
I can say, this gambling fraud won't stop so long there are big gamblers who want to earn huge profits along with athletes who can be bribed.
Yeah, this still sadly happens in some other countries and they're capitalizing and abusing it with the smaller leagues. That's the sad reality that this is hard to be gone.
As long as these people who are behind these match fixing sees some opportunities in any sport that they can make a fixed match, this will go on and it's gonna be hard to stop it even with the authorities.

That is why other sportsbettors only bet on those big games with no controversy (we still don't know if it's a legit game) so that their chance of winning is bigger. But right now, money matters mostly to those smaller leagues, as they can't earn that much. I also remembered about celebrity boxing in our country that it is some sort of fixed as they fight only for money and it is scripted, to which they are successful, and they just get people's money on it, which I am pissed off about.
2042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen once Hong Kong legalizes bitcoin? on: February 22, 2023, 04:45:14 AM
I didn't read in the news that Bitcoin or crypto was banned in Hong Kong. It is just regulated, but if this is some sort of making Bitcoin legal, then I think it will have the same impact as other countries that legalize it; it will make more users of bitcoin, more buyers, and also more holders at the same time. We also see a bitcoin sticker stating that they will accept bitcoin as a payment method. It could possibly affect the price, but not to the point where you'll reach ATH.
2043  Economy / Economics / Re: Social media, now looking more for business than for socializing. on: February 22, 2023, 03:45:31 AM
Do you think social media is now becoming more a place for business than socializing, Could it be as a result of digitalization and things moving online or more people now starting business online because of need to somehow generate income or another source of income for self to survive the economic situations which is becoming tougher?

Social media is the best marketing place i have seen best, because with social media platform you can easily tell your friends which is not around your country to help you and market your business, so i believe that online is the best place we can for business advertisement, many people now doesn't do their business manually they both operate in online and manually, so it depends the level of your business, but for business to get more awarenesses is through a social media.
In last couple of years social media has changed the face of world.
In my country every person is on facebook, instagram and tiktok - they are earning so much though the video sharing and content writing. No doubt if you use it wisely you can be rich in not time

Most of my classmates before were also mostly into social media, trying to be vloggers or also posting videos as they could earn money from it. It is a really great opportunity, as anyone can do it, and if your content is good and you get lucky enough to get noticed, you will be earning money. Though I was tempted to do this before, it was really time-consuming, and I don't have that luxury, as well as being camera shy. Let's just take this as an advantage so that we can promote other things as well as help others.
2044  Economy / Economics / Re: Cheap food: can you beat this price in your country? on: February 22, 2023, 02:32:51 AM
People who are looking to just eat the same thing and cut from their expenses do not know how to get rich. In order to get rich you can't just cut your costs, sure it would be a smart decision if you spend responsibly, I am not saying go out and buy the newest iphone each time a new one comes out, nor saying you should eat at 3 michelin star restaurants everyday, if you can find a meal for a dollar then that's great, 4-5 dollars? That's not too terrible neither.

However, the real way to get rich is to earn more, because that's unlimited, you can cut your costs down to a minimum and can't cut down more, but you can earn unlimited amount of money, focus on your revenue instead.

Hit us hard. We are just more focused on budgeting like we spend most of our time to budget and we are just having temporary solution on this and not a permanent one like having another source of income so that we wont be sacrificing our food budget. Having another source of income is the solution so that we wont be eating cheap and unhealthy food which we need to find another job or side hustle that can add to our income so no need to budget our money
2045  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: February 21, 2023, 05:13:05 PM
Many governments are moving to push hard to reduce sales of diesel and petrol cars, the European Parliament has officially approved a law banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in the EU from 2035
The effects of emission from petrol and diesel powered is becoming more of a concern as it contributes to global warming. It makes sense that there is an intentional move to slow down global warming by reducing the sales of petrol and diesel powered automobiles and replacing them with electrical vehicles. Tesla and some other automobile companies have already proven that it is possible, so in the coming years, we will see more automobile companies move into the production and sales of electrically powered vehicles, which will then replace Petrol and diesel and make them old-fashion.

Even Honda and Toyota have started to make their own electric cars right now, as they knew the market would be better for EV cars than traditional ones. Yamaha is also making electric motorcycles, which are pretty hot right now as most motorcycle enthusiasts want one as it is way more affordable and they can save up. Though it doesn't mean it will replace all, as there are still countries like remote areas where having an EV is difficult, so they will stick to gasoline cars for their area.
2046  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: February 21, 2023, 03:13:16 PM
At first it's not a easy task to give the weekly bonus to all the players and the number of players in this will be more then 100k people. If the ten percentage of the people, which is 10k people worked on the gambling and play the gambling. So it's not a easy task to give all the people of weekly bonus. If you had made the bonus of 1$ and for the 10k is will be around 10k$.It's easy for you to do this.
That's is not how they give bonuses to customers and if thet follow that pattern then things can go wrong. Most time bonus and given to gamblers that do make loses and in other to encourage them to keep gambling then they will be offered some bonus that will bring there mindset back to the casino so they will not have another reasons to leave and go bet on other casinos.

meaning some sort of cash back? like they lose in a particular game, but they earn cashback from their losses so that they still continue gambling? I think this was done already, and it is not huge, just a couple of cents, and it is not good to do this as it may trigger the gambler to gamble more. It would be best if it had like monthly cashback from your losses so that they are attracted to play every month as they have a cashback.
2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: February 21, 2023, 01:53:02 PM
Sorry if I'm a bit curious about this, but I just want to ask a question.

Did anybody here really tried to use AI (like ChatGPT, or any other) to predict the outcomes of certain sport? Is anybody here who are relying on AI predictions on sports? Like in Basketball, or Football or even in Boxing. A follow-up question. If yes, what is the accuracy of it? How many of those prediction are right?

My apologies about my curiosity, but I just want to know since I'm also involved into gambling (just recently).

I tried asking ChatGPT on this, but it won't answer as it is just a model, but you can analyze things like Garcia's previous wins, score boards, and anything else. It won't really tell your prediction, but you can gather data and compare both. meaning it is just giving you information, and you are the one who decides which to bet on or your prediction. But if this were utilized or optimized for gambling, then for sure it would be helpful, but for now, this kind of information is being censored by them.
2048  Economy / Economics / Re: How we survive food shortages on: February 21, 2023, 12:09:57 PM
Some of us are lazy and will refuse to do certain things to help ourselves, like getting involved with agriculture and savings . Most people thinks that money and other things will come like rain ,when I was living with my grandma she thought me how to farm and save too ,and it helped me alot ,in this country some of us prefare eating and spending our money in flashy things ,and when the money finish eye go clear
This is the time when almost everyone is saving up - people are cutting short on groceries
But the more we talk about this - everytime we go restaurant and eateries they are full and you don't get the space to sit there.

It is like you see someone ranting on social media that everything is overpriced and complaining they can't buy groceries as they are getting short, but then they go on vacation, buy expensive things, and buy a new car. People just want the price to drop, but they are okay buying expensive things. There are only two solutions to this: the government should strengthen that they will cut the price, or you should find another source of income so that you can still buy those groceries without having getting out of the budget.
2049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 09:49:49 AM
It's because they can't control themselves, and they have nothing to do but rant and express their feelings so that it can ease the pain. Lucky are those people like us who can control themselves, which means we don't get to the point of losing all though there are times we do this, but still we can control it, unlike others who, let's say, are addicted to gambling and always tend to sell their stuff or do anything like borrow money just to gamble as they can control their feelings.
2050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: February 21, 2023, 08:29:11 AM
There are only two options. Either you follow the law, as most people will do, as no one wants to go to jail, or let's take that it's illegal and continue using it. It is like we treat bitcoin as a drug, and when transacting on it, we are doing transactions that no one can see. Also, I think it will still continue to circulate since some are still using it, and others may also continue to hold it and declare they sold it, but that isn't true as long as no one knows. As well, I will still continue using and earning bitcoin, but I am not now telling others about it.
2051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real-World Use Cases for Bitcoin in Agriculture? on: February 21, 2023, 07:20:11 AM
The only thing that I can think of is payment transactions since agriculture is mostly mechanical and physical, which I think Bitcoin can only contribute to through its transactions as well as using it as a means of payment. Though agriculture is very broad, what's your goal in your research? Can you break it down so that we can analyze it too? Like, can the blockchain that was used by Bitcoin affect agriculture, or what is the help on it? Some sort of that
2052  Economy / Economics / Re: To cut financial ties with original family benefits you in the long run on: February 21, 2023, 06:20:16 AM
I think this is almost a self-realization.  Obviously as you get older - Parents get older.  I see some friends who have formed the habit of relying on their Parents whenever financial difficulties even though it is a small amount.  At the very least, each person has to find the positive, motivate themselves to change their dependence on their own conditions.  When you have a family, that angle is even bigger.  Being independent is a good way to get motivated, hard work.  change yourself every day.  After all, I think when I separate myself from my parents' financial dependence/dependence, that's a good thing, I'm not sure in all other people's circumstances, but for me, I figured  early independence.
Agreed, it is our responsibility to keep ourselves independent in finance. When we want to do what we prefer after certain age, but looking for the money from the parents for the same is unfair. At some circumstances requesting parents for help is quite Ok, but the same shouldn't continue forever. Inheriting what belongs to them after their life is our sole right. Before that depending on them for financial needs is kind of downgrading ourselves. As suggested, we need to make ourselves motivated and move on facing the challenges.
To sustain yourself should always be the goal, it is true there could be moments in which this is not possible, as it could be the case if you suffer an accident and you require some financial help to pay for the hospital bills.

But this should be the exception, however for what I can see around me it seems this ideal is not pursued with the same kind of enthusiasm as in the past, as I see many young adults and even couples which depend financially on their parents.

But it is still better that you have your own emergency savings when this happens. The best goal really is that you can now help your parents financially, and for sure you'll be independent. I also noticed right now that there are people who have already had a child at a young age and are still living with their parents, and their parents are buying those needs of the child, like milk and diapers, as well as their food. It is like their parents are starting over again as they struggle to make a living as they need to feed those young couples as well as their child. I am hoping that those kinds of people will strive more, find a job, and be independent, as they already have families.
2053  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 21, 2023, 05:15:08 AM
You should advise your friend that while he is saving, he should learn on the way because he is saving money to lose as he has no concrete plan on how he can earn profit from it. For sure, he will just deposited it and guessing the price on where he trade without proper strategy, and he will end up losing his couple of months' savings. Though he can do copy trading, but for sure, he doesn't know anything or what's going on if he puts his money on it. It is really best to have knowledge first, even if you already have money to invest because you'll end up losing if you don't have knowledge of trading.
2054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to surprise a friend on: February 21, 2023, 03:58:25 AM
That is huge, and for sure he will appreciate it a lot, but my question is, how would you give it to him? Like, you just asked his wallet address? It would be great if you gave him a ledger with bitcoin on it, as it is safer than using exchanges. I don't know what you will use, but whether you choose local wallets or not, it is still good as long as both of you know the security risks so that your friend can't get hacked easily.
2055  Economy / Economics / Re: To cut financial ties with original family benefits you in the long run on: February 20, 2023, 04:50:59 PM
At an early age, I became independent already, as we came from a poor family. I would say there is nothing wrong if you ask for help from your parents if there is a problem (lucky on you if you can ask for help mostly financially as we are poor so still my parents can't support me also) as they will be going to help you, but the best example for me is getting into marriage and all of the expenses are coming to your both parents even if both of you don't have any money, then I think it was a bad move. Though I understand they are here to help, marriage is the first step to get independence, if you are still relying on your parents for it, which is not good. It is really best if you have your own house or rent to be more independent because your parents have not unlimited lives. How would you take care of yourself if they had left you?
2056  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 20, 2023, 01:52:51 PM
Saving for rainy days is one of the many reasons people have savings. We do have different goals for saving, but the purpose is the same: to achieve those goals. I think we all have the same purpose; some are saving for material things like cars or other expensive products; others are also saved for emergencies like paying hospital bills, etc.; and others are saved for future use, like if your child is going to college so that you can still support them. We have our own concept of savings, but all in all, we just save to achieve our goals.
2057  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: February 20, 2023, 12:48:44 PM
Online gambling sites are well aware that offering bonuses and promotions can be an effective marketing tactic. Despite the negative connotations, these incentives have a way of captivating our attention and keeping us engaged. In fact, there's a common saying that goes, "You can't resist a good deal!" Especially if that deal takes the form of a bonus or promotion. It's interesting how our brains are wired, but ultimately, if it means more playing time and the potential for greater winnings, why not take advantage? Furthermore, if we truly enjoy the site, we may even share it with others, thereby increasing its visibility and recognition. So let the bonuses and promotions continue to roll in, and let's stay hooked!

Almost all of the casinos use almost the same strategic techniques related to marketing management to attract lots of new customers. plus, retaining old users. this is very reasonable to do, because in this industry, there is also quite tight competition for business people engaged in the casino business. So, it's not something new if most casinos have features that involve bonuses, promotions, events, and so on, with various benefits that new and old users can get.

Even so, we must be careful not to fall for the lure of bonuses and promotions that don't make sense. in particular, for casinos that have just sprung up especially if they don't have a license. So, the safest choice is to stick with a reputable casino, especially those in our community.

Yup, more on the marketing side and casinos are competing using that same tactics to attract both old and new gamblers to use their platforms, I like that idea to keep yourself away from alluring offers where new casinos are using to bring interest and gain traffics for a possible gambler to use their service, if it's too good to be true then you need to go deeper before testing with your own money.

If you can stick with the casino that you already playing, having whatever kind of additional perks as long as the services are not scammy is way better than trying new with huge and attractive perks.

There are still gamblers that got curious about those new casinos, which is why they test the waters by depositing money for the minimum deposit, which is the start where they can't withdraw it without giving any reason. So it is better to stick to your own casino, and if you are planning to test those new casinos, wait for other feedback to see if it is good and not scammy, as now it is easy to put up casinos just to scam people, so we should be more careful.
2058  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: February 20, 2023, 11:18:50 AM
Moving to another place is hard. Be it a new city or the country
And I think the answer to this question varies. I am not in favour of Rent all the time - I would like to have my own place.
We all want to have our own place but renting is the solution for those that are moving from time to time. Like those who are digital nomads, they can transfer from one place to another and that's why it's very easy for them to move.
They don't need to think of anything they have to cover as their asset because for them, it's too easy and there's no hassle at all when they're moving from country to country. Adaptation is also interesting because they learn to bear with new culture.
That is correct - but one can sell the old home and get a new one.
In our religion we are advise to keep moving - this is one of the ways to lean. that life is not easy and that you should travel light

I don't know what your religion is, but for sure, the purpose of moving to another place is to attract or invite people to join your religion. The only thing that I've known is that there are other people in that religion who are visiting places to spread their word and also trying to convince people to join their religion or go to their church, but they are not transferring places; they will stay in that location for a couple of months, fulfill their mission, and then be sent back home again.
2059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give it a break. on: February 20, 2023, 10:04:35 AM
This is only effective on those games: card games, sports betting, and other games except slots, because in slots you have the possibility of getting those lose streaks and even more. Though this should be the basic rule in gambling, we need to be able to control ourselves when it comes to losing. Though it doesn't mean that we are all using this, most of us, when we get into a losing streak, we should take a break, relax, and have a beer to ease the emotions, but there are still others chasing their losses, which, as you said, will break break their bank accounts.
2060  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: February 20, 2023, 08:51:15 AM
As investors we must always be prepared for any conditions, I have been scammed several times in business or when investing in altcoins, and I think opportunities for crashes from bitcoin or cryptocurrencies can also happen at any time, there are many things that can cause it and if that happens then we shouldn't ever cry, before that happens then do a rethink whether you dare to take risks or not, if you don't dare to take risks then it's better to leave from now on.
Who do you recommend now? Personally, I have never been afraid of the decline that has occurred in Bitcoin because I have a lot of faith in Bitcoin and have even started to ignore any altcoins recently. Risks in investing are commonplace and this is of course understood by every investor before they invest. And to avoid scams, you just need not to trust everyone easily if you want to make an investment safely and comfortably.

In investing in Bitcoin, why are you still trusting anyone? I mean, are they involved in your investment? I think not, right? It is only your own will and research if and when or where you will be investing, and no one else is involved in it unless you need some info from those who have experience. I think if anyone is involved with you, it is some sort of Ponzi scheme or HYIP. Investment is really risky, which is why you should always invest what you can afford to lose.
