1041  Economy / Economics / Re: I thought there was an egg shortage. on: June 17, 2023, 09:01:08 AM
We are in the provinces, but we have tons of poultry here, so the price is still the same.
It is not always about the number of poultry but the production cost. These poultry "farms" need electricity, heating/cooling, vaccination and most importantly food. Due to inflation and energy price rises the production cost has gone up everywhere, on top of that because of the food crisis the animal feed has gotten more expensive over the past year (despite the ups and downs it is still more expensive compared to 1.5 years ago).
This is why the egg price has gone up in most countries.

You are right, even if there are tons of poultry, if the feed or food for the chicken is very expensive, it will still affect all the prices; it is not all about the quantity of it. Also, we are in a tropical country, and we always have storms and typhoons that affect us and lead to loss of electricity and water. Additional to that, our road to market from the farm is not that good, as they can't just put up poultry in the city; they really need to put it in a remote area.
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 17, 2023, 08:09:17 AM
Knowledge is always knowledge, and it won't waste because it will be in you. The waste is that you learn trading but don't want to apply it with real money. If you are talking about knowledge, if you learn about Bitcoin and want to buy it at Dip, for sure you'll figure out where you will find money to use to purchase it because you can predict that this month or today you should have this money so that you can buy it anytime. You can really find money easily, but having knowledge on something takes time and effort.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 17, 2023, 06:01:59 AM
This really depends on the person, but mostly if the person's reason for converting to another religion is very personal and for his belief, for sure he can quit gambling on it as it has a spiritual effect on him as well as his belief, but again, there are still others who will play secretly. I do have a lot of friends who believe gambling, drinking alcoholic drinks, and eating pig is a sin for them, but they still do it anyway, but secretly. I also have friends who really don't do it at all. But the chances really are high for those who quit gambling due to a belief or other reason.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: June 17, 2023, 05:01:22 AM
It is possible, but it doesn't mean it is that easy, like picking an altcoin and putting $100 into it because, let's say, out of 100, only 1 of them can turn your $100 into $7k, and for sure, filtering out those projects is very difficult as now scammers are really good, even writing their website, whitepaper, and roadmap. You should also check the team to see if they are reputable or not. With altcoins, it is really best if you get in first because that is where you'll gain more profit than if you're already listed on the exchange. But again, this is kind of like finding a needle in a haystack.
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: 85% of AI start-ups will fail within 3 years. on: June 17, 2023, 02:49:09 AM
The article really has a point because it is still a business. If we look at it from a bigger perspective, those big companies will really try to acquire those start-ups right now and implement them on their own, which we mostly know will either fail as there is new management or it will just go away. AI really requires a huge budget in the long run, and if that start-up company does not have a huge budget over time, they will go bankrupt. Though AI itself will be in demand for sure in the future, big companies will really take part in it.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you tired of waiting for the jump? Pls Hodl on: June 16, 2023, 04:42:12 PM
This is really a good motivation for those newbies that are now itchy to sell off their Bitcoins, though it is now better than before. I've seen a lot of newbies crying and murmuring on social media about the price and their losses, but right now there are only a few I've noticed. Also, Bitcoin has a proven track record; this has already happened many times, which is why others are already used to it and don't mind it. Let's just sit back, relax, and drink a beer.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 16, 2023, 03:04:38 PM
Although I still studied, I invested a small amount in Bitcoin. I will get married if I get a good job. Many people give many things to their wives as wedding gifts, I have a different plan. I am planning to gift bitcoin to my wife on her wedding day. Bitcoin is still illegal in my country so I invested with caution. On my wedding day I want to gift half of my investment to my wife.
Should I gift bitcoin to my wife? I want your advice
As you've mention Bitcoin is still illegal in your country so why would you give her something that could put her in danger?
I know that you just want to make it unique but we should also consider the receiver does they want the gift that we would give them? would they appreciate it just like how they would appreciate normal gifts or how would they feel about it?
If your wife doesn't know about crypto or Bitcoin I think she wouldn't really appreciate it much.

If it is illegal, then that is a big problem, and it is not a good idea, unless both of them know crypto or bitcoin. If he is the only one who knows bitcoin, then it is not a good idea to gift her, but again, it is always a good start or like a stepping stone for his wife to know bitcoin. For sure, she will appreciate it, as we know the value of it, but the case is that it is illegal, so for sure she wants other gifts aside from it.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: June 16, 2023, 01:15:15 PM

Short hut precise way on how to breathe and how to check yourself whether if you are still capable or not to gamble. As a player, it is your responsibility to check on yourself because no one else would other than you. You should always assess whether you have enough budget allocation for the important things before allotting a portion in gambling. Otherwise, you'll end up messing your finances.
the mistake of most gamblers is this one. because now access to bank accounts and online casinos is very easy. So when we play in front of the screen, we can have no control over how much we have spent in the casino.
This problem can be overcome when gamblers are aware that their financial management will get worse. when everything has happened, it is hoped that gamblers will play more wisely.

Cashing in is really easy unlike before, but there are casinos that are only accepting cryptos, in which you still have to buy those cryptos before you can deposit, meaning there are extra moves, and that will also lead to the gambler not depositing more. But again, depositing money right now is very convenient, so no matter what you decide to play, you can just easily deposit. That is why it is better to have control over yourself, practice it like setting a budget, or also try to create a habit on which you can control your spending.
1049  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: June 16, 2023, 10:41:48 AM
I am not anyone's financial adviser so right now I am speaking for myself, yes investment is risky and this character is not only seen in Bitcoin and crypto-currency even off crypto investment are risky.

But with the time I have been able to be active in Bitcoin I can say the risk in Bitcoin is lesser than many other investment opportunities in the long run.

The world is going tech and Bitcoin is the leading digital asset in the world right now and the want for Bitcoin would always increase, I would say invest according to your capital when in investing in Bitcoin rather than saying what you can afford to lose. If you are a long term investor and you only invest in Bitcoin I still don't see how you can lose.

While it is true that most of us are not financial advisers, but what we have learned about investment through our experience with crypto space, suggests that all type of investments carry some level of risk while Bitcoin is comparatively more risky as is extremely volatile. Surprisingly though, it remains subject of extensive discussions across various platforms of social media, that reflects notable interest among investors. Consequently, it is considered best asset for long term investment having potential to reward its investors with significant returns.

and also invest what we can afford to lose, because before, for sure, we were only thinking about the profit and not the possible losses. What is best about bitcoin is that in the past few years we have already seen that the price of bitcoin keeps increasing, which is a pattern that if we predict it will still continue rising over the years, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't dump, as there are years that it is in the red, but still, the overall value from its start is very far from now.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Force Your Children to Learn Bitcoin on: June 16, 2023, 09:14:42 AM
Teaching children on bitcoin is like the latest threads in the forum. It is good to tell our children about bitcoin in their tender ages but destiny is not something you force someone to achieve. Just like the general saying that "You can take a horse to the river but you cannot force it to drink the water". That's, it is good to tell your children about bitcoin but you cannot force him or her to learn bitcoin if it is not in the mind of the child and if that is not the child's calling in life.

Just like another instant again, it is a Ghanaian Play called "Sons and Daughters by Joe De Graft". The father wanted his daughter to study law while the some for medicine but the boy wanted to study Fine and Applied Arts while the girl wanted to study Theatre Arts but the father refused. There was a day the boy's friend drew Ghanaian President and the picture was bought with a very big amounts of money which was about millions and it was broadcasted on National TV and Radio Stations and the father heard about the news and he called his children and advised them to study what they like.

I think that play is a very big lesson to everyone in the contemporary world. So if your children are not interested to learn bitcoin please don't force them. Everyone has their own destiny.
I've tell it everytime that bitcoin is a complicated things for childrena and to be homest for sure they dont really care on it for shre they just know that saving is a good thing and that is what your teaching them it is probably more accurate probably if they are already a teenager its the right age to teach them what is bitcoin, But even children could wonder what really bitcoin is which is a good thing it will encourage them to get involved on the cryptocurrency space soon when they grow up since they might wonder what this bitcoin is.

We seen the bitcoin cartoon get popular if children would watched that clips they might have no idea what is bitcoin but its a good start to condition them in the future, to invest, save etc.
for children, I think the introduction to bitcoin is enough to teach, considering that we have to introduce it gradually. it is not certain that they will be interested in being in this business, even if they are not interested, at least they will get to know bitcoin later. after all, everyone has their own talents, so they will also determine their own path, so as parents we must be able to direct according to the will of the child. for the introduction of bitcoin, I think it needs to be done early

Are we talking about learning Bitcoin or is it about how to earn Bitcoins?

Yes, we can tell our children about Bitcoin and how it works. Since Bitcoin is a digital currency, children can easily understand it when we compare it with fiat money. However, I don't think we should focus on teaching kids how to earn Bitcoin at this stage of their age. Kids should only be focusing on schooling and playing and should not take the stress of earning.

But if they are too young, then I think it is still not a good idea as they will not digest it, but it still depends on the parents. Right now there is a cartoon that is about bitcoin and how the financial system works, and I think it is a good idea to try to show it to them and see if they like it or not, but again, it is better to introduce it to them around their teen age as they will start to grasp and understand what it is. The earning part will follow that time for sure, as before we can earn, we should start by learning.
1051  Economy / Economics / Re: I thought there was an egg shortage. on: June 16, 2023, 06:47:27 AM
I thought there was a global panic over egg supplies. Not so long ago they were rationing sales. This morning I bought some boxes of 6 big and fresh eggs for just 21 pence. The normal price is £1.40. It just shows how food prices and distribution is being manipulated to rip us off. That is if we aren't aware and exploiting the situation for our own benefit. The eggs were on sale at a m ajor Asda supermarket in Hampshire, England.

It would have been easier for others to know the total number of eggs so they can relate the price to their own price because here in my country, eggs are not sold in boxes but on create and each creates of eggs contain a total of about 30 eggs are they are been sold for $3.2, that's from my conversion from local currency to USD and looking at that price in global level, it looks cheap and affordable at a consumer price, the retailers and wholesales price is way cheaper than this price; if you go to layers farms to get the eggs yourself, they are even more cheaper than this price.

Eggs in your country are very cheap, for sure. There are tons of chickens there, or poultry, because in our country they are sold by the pc, which is around $0.16, and by the tray, which is 24 eggs on a tray, averaging around $3.5. We are in the provinces, but we have tons of poultry here, so the price is still the same. Eggs have a really different price in the world, which for us is kind of expensive, even though we are in a third-world country where the minimum wage per day is around $9.
1052  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: June 16, 2023, 02:17:42 AM
I see AI as a powerful tool to support and enhance knowledge. They can provide insights, suggestions, and guidance when faced with a challenge. However, people still need to develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of concepts. So while AI can provide quick solutions and answers, I still recommend encouraging a holistic approach to learning. Because the learning process involves more than just finding the right answer, So anyway, you can combine the benefits of AI with active participation, hands-on practice, and peer-to-peer discussion to create a well-rounded learning experience that fosters critical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication.
Artificial intelligence can indeed be used to increase the insight of its users. or it can also be used in the world of work to simplify and increase the effectiveness of work. it's just that what many people worry about is that they are afraid that artificial intelligence will make the number of jobs narrower due to the potential for some professions to be replaced by artificial intelligence. Even some TV stations are already using AI to host or host their news shows. In Indonesia, the ONE TV station is also developing it and it is likely that in the near future there will be an AI presenter.

That is really the future that I am looking for or what we would see because of AI right now, and it is really keeping advancing, but I do hope that it will not be catastrophic in the job industry. I am sure, however, that it will create more jobs in the technology niche because businesses are adopting this and are trying to automate their tasks and easily and quickly feed information. I am also one of those people who is happy that AI exists, as it has helped me a lot in my work.
In certain fields of work, of course, the presence of artificial intelligence has really helped a lot. especially technology-based jobs and so on. Even today, many students rely on AI to help their learning process. and for unskilled laborers, they actually don't have to worry about the presence of AI taking their jobs. But for employees of certain stores and professions that can be replaced by AI, they may be feeling the anxiety of losing their job right now. this is where we need to have a high level of adaptation in welcoming the latest technology. that is, we have to be at the forefront of learning the latest technologies such as AI.

I can recall the rise of machines with this because before those factory workers were really generating tons of jobs for people because it really needed manpower, but because of those robots, it replaced that manpower, but not all of the factory workers lost their jobs. There are still factories that are not migrating to robots as they want more to be hand made, so this will also be the same with this AI. For sure, there are still people who will not lose their jobs. Let's just make it for good or a stepping stone to upskill ourselves.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 16, 2023, 01:05:42 AM

Women are very emotional, will she be able to cope with the market volatility? Another question is that will she be able to handle losses and did she understand what bitcoin is all about? I assume you know that women want show off, they will tell their friends the surprises they had from their husband, they also like show off and want to make her friends,

Why do you think women can’t cope with the market volatility. And I think men are as emotional as women but are better at hiding their emotions so as not to be classified as weak or soft.
I see no reason why the OP can’t gift the wife some bitcoin as a gift. If she properly understands what bitcoin entails and how volatile it is, she won’t be surprised that her $10k has reduced overnight.
There are lots of women who are also bitcoin holders and can handle the price fluctuations as well.

Not all women are the same. There are girls we know that they want jewelry, as they are closed-minded on Bitcoin; they only prefer gold, silver, and diamonds, but there are also women that, no matter what you give them, they will appreciate it, like gifting bitcoin, which they will appreciate mostly if you explain more about it. Also explaining volatility for the new person in Bitcoin is that their first impression is that they will lose money from it. But again, this depends on the person, but if both of you are interested in Bitcoin, then for sure both of you will like it.
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interested in investing in Bitcoin my childhood friend after losing business on: June 15, 2023, 04:25:55 PM
For several days now my friend has been asking me for some advice. Telling me that he wants to invest some of his money, telling me where to invest it. My friend works in a private company and he has saved some money from there. With that money they went into business in a four person partnership, initially he made some profit in the business then he suffered some financial loss. My friend knows that I am involved with Bitcoin. He got some ideas about Bitcoin from me. So he wants to invest money in Bitcoin. I didn't tell him anything about the risk of investing. Since he wants to invest, should I advise him to invest?

Your friend is a smart person for sure; he knows what he is getting into, and even if you don't tell him the risk, he will eventually know it, as he has been a business owner before, and their number one thing to do is do research on risk and how to lessen it. What I've suggested you do is guide him on where to start, introduce him in this forum, provide YouTube videos and articles, and mostly tell him that investing in Bitcoin is like riding a roller coaster.
1055  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: June 15, 2023, 02:18:43 PM
~snip~

Everybody must learn to cut their cost of living by all means. Learning addition skills and securing extra jobs might be another means of overcoming this hard life. The government must also make policies that will help alleviate the suffering of the masses.

This is not applicable for everyone, you know that. We all have different privilege in life, most of us doesn't even have the skills to have extra jobs because of their current life situation or their health. Funny thing about the government is they just don't really care if there are people suffering in their country, what they care the most is the money they can get while they are sitting in their position as a politician.

We can learn new skills if we are just determined; even uneducated people do it, like those mechanic people. They are usually construction workers, but they are eager to have an extra income, so they go to their friends and ask them to teach or just watch them. As long as the person is determined, they can learn new skills for additional income. Also, we should not rely on the government; we should work on our own, as we know that the government is like a turtle. Upskill and find extra income, but again, this is not easy as you will be going down a rough road.
1056  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling addiction causes ear deafness? on: June 15, 2023, 12:13:30 PM
They will respond only to you, just saying yes to everything you've said. This is really pretty normal, not only in gambling addiction but in all kinds of addictions. You thought they would listen to you, but it turns out they didn't and still don't understand what you are saying. I haven't told someone who is addicted to gambling, but in other forms only, like computer game addictions, they tend to say yes, but their expression is like a void, and for sure it will not sink in their mind.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 10:50:43 AM
I've seen several threads where people preach teaching bitcoin to kids and I've also seen threads where others talked about having  some savings(investments) in bitcoin  for their kids which is right.

Just as my topic reads, we should stop stressing  kids with wanting them do things we didn't meet up doing and at some points getting them mentally stressed.

Please don't get me wrong because I'm typically  not against teaching  or maybe introducing bitcoin  to your kids but I'm  on the opinion  that rather than bother them with this complicated digital asset (bitcoin) knowing fully well that no matter how much knowledge  we have about it, if we don't have the money to buy, then we'll  certainly  miss out, and judging from this, I don't think it's wise teaching them or wanting to force it on them when we know that they can't afford it.

I will suggest that, rather than bore them with the history of bitcoin,  why not get a portfolio for them and keep investing in it and watch it grow with them and when they're of age, then you can practically  show them the needful.

I want to know if there are people who also share same opinion with me and please lets just discuss rather than argue

instead of teaching them hard facts early that might just make them disinterested in BTC, yeah that's a good point. You can also employ your kids in games that will help their thinking and managerial skills like chess or Monopoly board games. It's not about the money. It's about the skill and the mindset. Teaching kids early in their life might be an advantage but teaching them in an ineffective way won't o any good. As parent you don't force things with your children. You let their interest wonder.

That is also something I've noticed; they are not going to pursue it, and for sure they are going to be in a miserable life. While reading your response, I thought of those movies where the children have strict parents and all they are doing is studying. Even if they want to play, they can't do it. I don't want my kids to be threatened like this because they don't enjoy the life of being kids. I want them to enjoy life and not always be after money, and for sure the time will come when they will ask you about financial aspects in life.
1058  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: June 15, 2023, 09:25:55 AM
Many people are too dependent and blame the government when poverty occurs, most countries have made maximum efforts to overcome poverty, for example are free education for up to 15 years, scholarships to other countries, training to the provision of business capital, of course not everyone can succeed to overcome poverty.

You're only looking at things from one perspective if you think this way. A bad government makes it very difficult for people to break out of poverty. What's the point of free education when there are no jobs at the end of the day? Do you think it will be people who are starting from nothing to establish their own business when inflation keeps getting to a new ATH every year? No electricity, security, or proper funding.
No matter how we look at it, the government of a country will determine the amount or percentage of poor people in that particular country. A good government reduces poverty, while a bad government increases poverty.

This is like now that there are a ton of graduates but they can't find a job because there are no job openings since we came from the pandemic and the businesses are just starting out. It should be a balance; providing education for free is good, but also generating more jobs is also good, but the pay is also reasonable because there are a ton of people now going abroad and venturing there because the pay is low, like the nurses here, which leads to them going abroad, and the country right now is needing more nurses, but they don't prefer here in our country because of the pay.
1059  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: June 15, 2023, 06:58:36 AM
Saving fiat money and storing bitcoins are completely different especially when storing them for a long time or long term. For myself, it's better to save bitcoin from now on and use it as an asset to guard against global economic chaos rather than keeping fiat. Because the price of Bitcoin may increase significantly so that we get profits, this is very different from keeping fiat money. The analysis is like this, What if the government chooses to block all banks due to war or tension? Inflation is real, fiat money will lose value.

If you save Gold, gold is difficult to carry everywhere. So Bitcoin is the perfect way to save money because we can leave the country or migrate and just know how to access our wealth from our usual cloud/wallet.

Yes, that's right, saving money either in the long term or in the short term is very much different, because fiat has a fixed value while Bitcoin fluctuates causing price charts to always change, saving in Bitcoin is one of them you can invest not just saving, and if they are someone who is engaged in cryptocurrencies, of course they will keep it in Bitcoin, although not all, because they also need fiat in their daily life for the economy and maybe their family.

If it is about saving, they are both the same as you keeping it for your purpose, but if we talk about the value, that is different. As fiat depreciates over time, you'll say your $100 is not worth $95 next year due to inflation, but in bitcoin, it fluctuates also, but it doesn't mean that it will go high as it depends on the price, which there are instances that it will go up, then you'll gain profit, and also you'll lose if it goes in the opposite direction.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: June 15, 2023, 04:56:52 AM
Yes, each can't replace the other but let's admit it, online gambling help us survive during the pandemic time. They are very effective as alternative to the physical gambling. There are risks in online gambling but that can be prevented. One of it is to be scammed by the casino.

We don't need to rush but we must look for feedbacks first if this casino here is truly legit or not. In case something bad happens to us like we lost our funds. We can try to report them to the gambling authorities including here on our forum. I already saw lots of successful stories here where a gamblers account have been recovered or their funds have been returned.
The gambling sector is vast, with no restrictions both online and offline, and the large number of people who gamble are extremely proactive in the system. Except for those who depend on gambling for a living, online gambling never helped us escape the pandemic, our savings benefit ordinary hardworking citizens. That was a difficult season for people all around the world; the pandemic lingered for months, resulting in more deaths in infected countries. Online gambling is truly stress-free and has more features than traditional betting. It has the same chances.

But at that time, when the pandemic hits, a lot of people find their happiness in gambling because they are really bored at home and can't go outside. That is also the spike in online casinos and also gamblers, as they don't have anything else to do so they gamble, but I don't speak to all of them as not all of us are in a good situation at that time as others are also having difficulty. Right now, there are still more online casinos than offline ones, as people are now more used to doing things online than offline.
