So they are making a Ripple and Stellar competitor?

Interesting stuff, no doubt miners are a big power in the bitcoin ecosystem, maybe the biggest...

In addition, it seems we can do even better in terms of performance by sticking with 2–4–8 but allowing non-fully-validating nodes to ignore approximately half of this data. This would be a big improvement that would alleviate the pressure that we’ll be putting nodes by scaling the block size. The improvement is being called Segregated Witness and involves separating signatures out from the main block and putting them into a Merkle tree that only fully-validating nodes have to see. https://medium.com/@ryanshea/the-scaling-announcement-bitcoin-core-should-have-made-146790f755dfSo, with this change full node will now be called fully-validating nodes? Are the non-fully-validating nodes like SPV wallets?

Check Games and rounds section, you can find offers of that value in there. Good luck.

Nice read, thanks for sharing.
To be fair, Mike didn't said bitcoin is dead nor the experiment is over, he said it failed, failed experiments often keep going for long time and even thrive, a good example the USA 'War on Drugs'.

Just a small correction to the article, Gavin Andresen is not a XT opponent. Gavin Andresen and Jeff Garzik, both outspoken opponents of XT https://bitcoin.consider.it/

I haven't been following much of Bitcoin for a while now. Is what I read true that the Bitcoin network has lots of congestion and that transactions take too long?
Yeah from what I've read bitcoin is many years away starting to even have a problem with this. Then once it starts having "congestion" it will be many years before it's even noticable. then you should stop reading about it and start actually using bitcoin and you'll see the problem is today not in "many years"...

It's rather odd that this isn't posted on KNCs website. If Sam Cole were serious about it, why would he not advertise this on his mining website? My bet is on hoax.
Dissent is met with great DoS, one must be very careful...

O unico aspecto positivo, (para quem vendeu BTC no topo - 420€) é o preço que está novamente a entrar em bons niveis de compra Citando Battlestar Galactica, "All this has happened before, and all this will happen again". Até há bem pouco tempo tinha lá muito mais, mas com estes relatos todos acabei por ir tirando o que lá tinha, aquilo que ficou foi porque não consegui sincronizar as carteiras das alts...

Interesting stuff, lets see how it develops...
Any attempt of dissent has meet incredible resistance till now, maybe if more miners get on board we will see some progress.

Less than $10m.
not even 6M actually, they were 13K coins, at 450 you do the math bitstamp faced the same fate 5M lost but the price recovered after that, dunno why this time will be different July 2014 bitcoin as around 630 USD and litecoin was around 9 USD, so at that time values it makes this a theft of almost 11 million USD. i thought that too, but why coindesk say only 5M? http://www.coindesk.com/unconfirmed-report-5-million-bitstamp-bitcoin-exchange/"Bitstamp lost 18,866 BTC from its hot wallet, worth approximately $5,263,614 at a time when the price of bitcoin averaged $279."Oh, sorry, I thought you were referring to Cryptsy theft.

Whenever I read some one is saying that Bitcoin is "dead", then it just shows that these people have no idea what they are talking about. Let the dude leave and work on shitty altcoin projects. The more people say Bitcoin is going to fail, the more I keep believing in its future. Something that grows to unseen levels has a lot enemies, and it shows....
The original bitcoin has failed, whatever bitcoin is becoming is not what it was envisioned by its creator, the original project Mike worked on is no longer. Satoshi left and other people took over the project. It's not a surprise that it's not going in the exact direction that Satoshi had in mind. You have to deal with different people and all these people may disagree with each other on several important subjects, take the blocksize drama as example. I am happy to see where Bitcoin is standing right now, all these shills will attempt to disrupt things with their fud, but they will always lose. Then these people should make their own altcoin, not hijack bitcoin's development and turn bitcoin into their own altcoin. It's reasonable that all of us who bought into bitcoin because of its original vision to feel betrayed when seeing what it is being turned into, much more for someone like Mike who gave 5 years of his life to this project. Wasn't Mike Hearn the one accused of wanting to turn bitcoin into his own altcoin in the first place? Yes, it's called Projection.

agreed. Lauda, are you saying Gavin is in the CIA? Because that's kinda nutz.
Definitely a no there. I might have improperly written the post because I was on a smartphone. I've added a updated. So the CIA wants bitcoin to scale and they favor BIP 101? Are you sure Gavin is their only mole in development?

It cannot, at least for now.
Exchanges are the most common way to get bitcoin, they're the doors to the network, if an exchange loses his bank account it's done, at the moment you can't do much with bitcoin alone, you need some bridge to use it in the wider economy.

i'm sure nothing will really, happen, the usual dump becuse of this new drama, and then again the value will surge for the umpteenth time there were other bad days of bitcoin, and nothing happened, all were depicting, as a catastrophic scenario, yet bitcoin is still here, there is no real competitor for bitcoin the tech behind it is unprecedent, at best it will remain a niche market, surely it will not die The bad news have already impacted BTC price...
$30 loss, come on, people are afraid for such thing really? they have not the right to hold then Maybe, but the damage is done and the press is already eating Mike's crap nicely and spreading more and more fear and uncertanity: https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/bitcoin-failed-says-one-most-111408745.htmlhttp://fusion.net/story/255949/bitcoin-failed-says-mike-hearn/http://fortune.com/2016/01/14/bitcoin-developer-quits/and so on. People are just scared. But it also shows how one person can make so much damage to Bitcoin. And that is why general public cant treat bitcoin seriously for replacing fiat and banks. Its a shame I don't think the price drop is related to Mike's decision, price was already inflated and less than 2 months ago sub 300 USD. You're giving too much credit to Mike, the vast majority of people are completely unaware about bitcoin's development and internal structure.
