I don't understand the broken-ness well enough to explain it, but the smarter-than-me developers in bitcoin-dev said the script is invalid in some subtle way that the current bitcoin versions recognize and reject and that old bitcoin versions don't recognize and think is valid.
Sounds to me that this transaction was intentionally created to put MM out of business for a while and to do exactly what it is doing to miners who didn't upgrade.

I'm in.
Thanks kakobrekla. I will be working over the weekend to tighten up things on glbse.com and getting the release strategy ready. Stay tuned.

Picked up a few. Can't wait to start receiving dividends.

I'll have updated pic tomorrow of all 11.
Which tomorrow? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Well, since you asked, this tomorrow. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Flh3.googleusercontent.com%2F-sRnpqzUpBDo%2FT2zV1UqJGJI%2FAAAAAAAAA2s%2FcMfrssfs-Ao%2Fs640%2FIMG_0225.JPG&t=663&c=VDBSRt7NP0XD8Q)

Back on topic...what if we ignore electricity costs (I don't need a debate about right/wrong)? What rig would give the most Mhash/$, and is readily available?
7970s all the way.

Epoch, there will be an official announcement regarding the Mini-Rig next week.
Are your announcement 'weeks' the same as your shipping 'weeks'? You guys are like wounded elephants. If you are serious about getting some BFL products, get your wallets out and call BFL. Their phone number is right on their site. putting your money where your mouth is, is an agreeable statement, but what do wounded elephants have to do with anything? Elephants never forget. I keep seeing the same dribble posted on these threads because people just think doing business any other way beside being perfect is unacceptable. Instead of reminding everyone what we already know, I am only suggesting to pick up the phone and do your own research.

I wonder if a large datacenter operation like this will end up being the most economical model for bitcoin mining. A large data center won't have access to free or subsidized electricity. The power hungry nature of bitcoin mining will require substantial overhead in terms of power infrastructure, cooling, etc. It will also require professional administrative staff. By contrast, a small operation might be able to find free or subsidized electricity and the administration can be a part time (nights and weekends) affair. Hardware manufacturers will sell increasingly power efficient mining hardware to the general public…will it be enough to keep their power efficiency on par with anything a large data center operation can do? Nonetheless, I think it's great that someone is attempting to do this.
Data centers charge premiums for floor space, cooling, electrical rates, data pipelines, redundancy, etc. It is their business to maximize revenues anyway possible. GPU mining is uneconomical in a data center. ASIC might be able to fit the bill.

The blanked Bitcoin address is 1jyAQDoog4F4UFDt8nQCc2bTDGKcWydXdPeople, you can't expect to protect your addresses if you talk about the amount of BTC that was involved in the transaction, and/or if you give the time of the transaction. Remember that the blockchain is public... You didn't notice the little QR code thingy...? What a lot of work to reverse engineer the address from the date and the amount. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) lulz

Hey Giga, when are your shares coming to market.
I am going to work on the particulars over the weekend and should have an announcement sometime early next week.

When is this going live.
This morning sometime I believe.

So it sounds like everyone wants to get started sooner rather than later. As for verification of my has rate, I took a screen cap of my farm monitoring webpage. -> https://i.imgur.com/ctnX9.jpgYou'll notice all GPUs are underclocked as it's getting a little hot here in FL. I guess it's time to talk with Nefario and get my glbse.com account verified.

Don't forget expenses like electricity and internet can be business deductions when done properly.
I'm all over it. One of the best things anyone can do for themselves is run a business. The benefits are too numerous to list here. Now back to the original topic.

These new boards will take about a year to pay off.....
I sure hope you have double checked your calculations on that one. Payoff on a rig box is well before the subsidy halves for me at least. I have a pretty well developed spreadsheet and I'm struggling to understand how you would be able to break even before Oct/Nov. Magic? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) 6.6 months at current difficulty. This does not take into account depreciation and it's effects on my taxes at the end of the year, tax free money that comes out of the business because of the loans (from me to the business) to purchase the equipment. Other things also effect payback, like when you decide to sell your BTC. Difficulty can go down too, which most people forget when it's going up. Just look at posts from the middle of last year when others were saying that they would be out of mining because of the exponential rise of difficulty. There are a lot of GPUs that are going to be unprofitable soon if the price keeps falling. Ultimately, there are a lot of variables at play, but I feel I have done my homework and have put my money where it is best able to make a decent return.

Hint : Once you've reached more than ~600$ + 60 btc worth of ticket, slowly buy the remainder and be done with it.
Transisto, Why do you get to decide who should make money and when. I said this earlier in the thread and I'll say it again, go make your own raffle if you want to make less money. It would seems that cablepair is trying to start / build something that could be used elsewhere in the community. Why is it so bad that he makes money for doing work?

what makes you think BFL's mini rigs will really get 1250watts? if theyre using the same FPGA's as the singles it would be more like 2500 watts.
25000 ÷ 800 = 31.25 * 80 = 2500
as i recall they didnt have correct power consumption quotes on the singles either
This may be difficult to believe, but a little more reading and a little less typing would point you towards the correct answer. The correct answer is that the mini rig uses more efficient chips.

Is it just me, or did everyone else lose the their deposit/payment/withdrawal information previous to April? I'm hoping it is due to the transition to the new payment scheme and new website pirate mentioned earlier.
