2061  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Alt coins are About to pump again! on: July 01, 2022, 04:39:29 PM
Look at Eth/Btc Chart. looks like it has found the bottom. i see a clear uptrend towards 0.08. In this case alts can be pumped too. so keep your eye on At Altcoins. This could bebthe start of a relief rally. but i dont think so that will be oump towards ATH. expecting just a relief rally only.
 Roll Eyes

I don't think that the bottom for altcoins is quite yet achieved. BTC is still not completely out of the bottom.
One negative news and we will another dump in bitcoin price and followed by that the altcoins will dump too.
We still have to wait for a certain time to consider this as the bottom.
2062  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Every "Bitcoin is Dead Headline" is a Buying Opportunity on: July 01, 2022, 04:38:00 PM
Ofcourse it is. Buy the fear sell the news definitely is true because of the psychology.
Buying when everyone are selling in a panic gives us the opportunity to buy at cheap prices whereas selling when a positive news is published gives us the leverage to exit temporarily at a higher price.
The market always falls back and that is when we can buy back and make the profits.
But at the end, not everyone can do this gracefully.
2063  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Casinos Vs Ethereum Casinos on: July 01, 2022, 02:28:48 PM
Unless you only want to use bitcoin or ethereum. Comparing where to play between a bitcoin and an ethereum casino is not that logical to me. The best thing to do is to find a reliable casino that accepts many coins so you can have many choices when networks clogged and once fees will run very high. And if you want stability with your money then you can also use usdt, busd, usdc and some other stable coins.

I agree with you. It is true that gamblers do not like any particular payment method. Where there are multiple payment methods it attracts everyone the most. However, there are many who prefer Bitcoin. And many people use peg to keep their money stable like USDT, BUSD, USDC, DAI. It all depends on the different choice for different person. Who will use which coins.

That's very true. Even I have seen many people who prefer to gamble with stable coins because they don't want to lose on the volatility.
It indeed boils down to an individual's choice. If I were given a choice to pick BTC, ETH or any stable coin I would prefer stable coin too.
ETH is too costly on the gas and BTC is too precious to lose in gambling.

Unfortunately, yes, Ethereum has crashed heavily during the past few days. But you placed your bets wisely, so, at least you will get your money back. And I'm surely losing my two bets, "$27,501 - $30,000" and "$30,001 - $32,500".
I had also placed bet on $30,001 to $32,500 range, and I'm going to loss it for sure. Bitcoin price is at the $15k to $20k price range, the outcome odds is 2.99× for this range. Unfortunately I haven't placed any bets on that range.

Yeah, I would have got profits only if ETH went above $1250 but I kinda knew it won't since the dump is not yet over.
So I had to place my bets on the lower ranges too. I guess minimizing losses is better when you know profits aren't incoming.
ETH price went above $1,251 in the previous week. I thought it will stay there until the end of this month. But crypto market is too much volatility now, and the price is showing downward move always. Anyway, you are still in a better position and you will win one of those bets which will minimize your losses.

As expected, the price of ETH stayed in the $1001 - $1250 range for which the odds were 2.64x
I had placed 0.00001 BTC for this range and got back 0.00002640 BTC.
I had placed 3 bets whose total was 0.00002850 BTC. So kinda lost only 210 sats which is still not bad.

2065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The unpredicted rise of BTC in 2022-2023 despite predicted bear market on: June 30, 2022, 04:11:56 PM
Bitcoin may not go all bullish until 2023 but it will definitely take us out of the bear market.
What it basically means is that we will soon see a bottom of bitcoin price and then start rising upwards.
But we will face many corrections inbetween and it will take quite some time to go back to the ATH level.
May be by the end of 2023 we can come out of the bear trend completely and start going bullish in 2024.
That's what I think and things can go differently ofcourse.
2066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 30, 2022, 04:02:48 PM
These so called experts or lets say influencers are just speculating on the prices without anything backing their predictions.
I am telling this because there's literally no way to predict the bottom or peak price of bitcoin.
The price is market driven and cannot be manipulated after one extent.
So just stick to your long term goals and HODL.

2069  Local / India / Re: Did anyone read this about TDS? on: June 27, 2022, 03:36:52 PM
Yes ofcourse, TDS of 1% was in the news from quite some time now and we just didn't knew when is the government actually planning on to implement it.
Recently there's another news that's spreading FUD in the market which says an additional 28% tax will be levied as GST on the already 30% tax.
The retarded government is playing it smart to get people completely out of crypto investments.

source: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/28-25-gst-on-crypto-transactions-india-is-reportedly-mulling-another-tax-levy-next-week/ar-AAYLXUC?fromMaestro=true
Welcome back mate!
I haven't seen you being active on this board for quite sometime now. There are a very few who literally respond or create genuine topics on this board now days.

Coming back to your reply. I do not think that is a FUD, the government has gone crazy and they will add GST sometime in the coming days. I also feel they will not implement such a huge percentage.

I also strongly feel that we create a service within this forum wherein those who are active and have a rank above Member can help each other by selling/ buying Bitcoin for INR using an escrow service provided by some forum members. What do you think?

You mean a P2P trade for forum members of Indian sub with an escrow. Sounds good.
But again, just like there are very few active members on this board so the number of trades will be too slim.
At least, it's better than nothing. We already have a telegram group so may be we can use that before placing trades on exchanges.
If we get a P2P trade from our telegram channel then well and good, otherwise we can still proceed with exchanges in case of emergencies.

What an irony. This makes me remember the good old days. My early days in crypto were just the same.
We used to buy and sell bitcoin using the P2P trades back then and I guess those days are coming back.
It's time to grow our network of trusted members. I already have some though. May be this will help us evading tax.
I hope webtricks doesn't read this else he will start with tax evasion and stuff. Lol  Grin . I'm kidding webby!!
I am working on it. I will never use telegram. I will create an ANN and share in that group.

Let's create a thread specifically to discuss how we can take it further. You should take the lead.
Besides that, I think that why should our trades be public. Shouldn't there be some kind of privacy.
Hence I suggested the telegram channel.

Any of you guys placed any bets for the BTC/ ETH price prediction this time ?
I found ETH price betting to be more rewarding this time since the odds are better for ETH than BTC.
Below are my bets and I think I might win something this time.

I missed it. You are right, amazing odds for the "$1,251 - $1,500" range, 6.37. It is very likely that ETH will end up there. I would even bet on the "$1,751 - $2,000" range with 7.82 odds. Those would be my 2 bets, but it's too late now. Good luck, mate!

Yeah, even I wish that the price of ETH stays in the range of $1,251 - $1,500 so that I can enjoy the rewards of 6x.
But anyway, even if the price is in the first two ranges then I would minimize my losses very much.
So as long as the price of ETH is below $1500 I am good to go. I think it would hardly cross $1250 though.
2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Short story] How do I use bitcoin as a means of payment! on: June 26, 2022, 01:44:40 PM
Let's talk a little about a real incident that I did with bitcoin in the last 1 month and just processed the payment in the last 7 days. I have an investment of more than 1 bitcoin which is equivalent to $28,500 (estimate) at the time I processed the payment. I bought a plot of land measuring 850M2 with a total price of 0.6+ bitcoin or equivalent to IDR 200,000,000 at that time. This didn't happen by chance because I know that the landowner is one of those people who are also bitcoin users. Although bitcoin is not legal tender in my country but I did it without anyone knowing and it is a transaction involving only seller and buyer and so far I have processed this land certificate safely.

I tried to remain undetected making these payments because I knew I would be punished by the government if I announced them. The seller received my bitcoin payment directly to the exchange (from exchange to exchange) and I both signed the receipt that I had prepared as proof of payment written on stamp duty.

This is a real event, I told the seller that he has to convert his bitcoin directly to stablecoin if he doesn't want the money I paid in bitcoins for his land payments to fluctuate. So even though I know bitcoin shouldn't be used as a means of payment in countries that haven't legalized it yet, but it's always a useful option if a buyer and seller reach an agreement.

This is my short story with, so have you ever used bitcoin as a means of payment for the purchase of physical assets like land or anything else?

This story is also the first thread that I created in this forum. It will definitely feel special to me.

$28500 for a land of 850 sq. mt seems like a little expensive to me since I can buy the same land at $25000.
But again that also depends on the area and surroundings of the land. But it's good that you have used bitcoin to buy the land.
At the same time I hope you have verified the documentation at your end and completed all the formalities thoroughly.
In my country there's a registry amount set by the government on the property price by the government.
It's mandatory to pay that amount and then the rest amount should be handled by the buyer/seller.
So most of them use cash to evade from the tax. Bitcoin is a good alternative provided both the parties understand all the aspects of bitcoin.
2072  Local / India / Re: What might be the reason for Bitcoin to go below 25k? on: June 26, 2022, 01:24:39 PM
I was suprised when I saw Bitcoin falling so fast from yesterday's price point till now. June 12th the price was holding around at 29k, i assumed it will go up or go down a little bit.

Some what similar to June 6th and then May 30th. It has been been hovering around the range of 28k to 30k for quiet some time now. Suddenly it went below 25k on a single day and that becomes a trigger for someone like me who saw Bitcoin usd value at around 3k to 4k between 2018 to 2019 in the month of April. In reality that was the golden time to grab 1 Bitcoin.

This situation isn't alarming for me but, i did some checks within the forum and found out that, this situation might have arised because of the LUNA issue or it might have been because of the global inflation situation.

What do you guys think can be the issue? Let's have a discussion here!

HINGLISH REPLY ACCEPTED
Some are saying it's because of the Celsius network breaking down while some think it's because of the global depression coming in, but truth is all of this is just a market cycle, you have to have a depression to normalise the market after an uptrend, if you see monthly charts of last year you'll see how bitcoin was trading every month on it's upper Bollinger it obviously has to see some depression days to bring the normalcy back in the market.
Do not know how long this bear market willl continues but you are correct that this is a market cycle. I did expect the market to correct but not so much of correction. Bitcoin still hovering around 20k to 22k. If I remember 20k was once a new high in 2017 and 20k is now the new low in 2022. Overall the market should look good for institutional investors if they are planning to accumulate more Bitcoin.
I think Market will stay around this region for somewhile, it will try to give hints as if we will break the region downwards and this will fool retail players and they will create short positions and ultimately these positions will be liquidated by big bull pump upwards or second scenario could be we might go straight down from here create a sort of long wick hammer and then go back up. I really doubt that bull action will immediately start after this.

Talking about manipulation it can happen the other way around too. For instance there might be a temporary long green candle.
People might think it's time to go bullish hence creating long positions and then the dump will occur liquidating the long positions.
It keeps happening which is why I hate to trade sometimes. I believe swing trading and long term trading is the best thing to do in these cases.

2075  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Casinos Vs Ethereum Casinos on: June 26, 2022, 01:07:55 PM
You can either make a bitcoin casino or a crypto casino which has most of the established coins.
But there's no point in making an ethereum casino at all. ETH fees are huge when the network is congested.
People would rather stop gambling on your casino at times like these which would directly result in a loss of revenue for you.
So the best thing to do would be to create a crypto casino but even then there are so many casinos already.
So the competition is really tough. Might as well think of something unique but a n ethereum casino is a bad choice.

I think creating or building an ETH casino is not OP's goal or purpose but rather looking for opinions if playing in Ethereum casinos is somehow convenient too like playing in the usual bitcoin casino. We really are concerned about gas fees in ETH and I think there will be no solution for it for now. Depositing ETH to an external service will likely cost a huge fee compared to usual.

The only advantage of using ETH casinos, as I mentioned already, is the ability to link our own wallet like Metamask into the platform making the deposit cheaper and much safer. But I doubt gamblers really prefer that way that's why it's now up to OP if he will test the experience of gambling in an ETH Casino.

Well in that case I think it's best not to try ETH casinos at first place.
Firstly there's a risk that not all casinos might be genuine, some may even run away with our coins.
Secondly, if we don't have a control on ourself from gambling then we might end up gambling all that we have in our wallet.
So these are some strong reasons why I wouldn't use a ETH casino.
It's better to deposit a small amount to gamble and then make the other deposit only when it is all gone.

$20k was once a "too costly to buy a bitcoin" range and now it's "too cheap to buy a bitcoin" range.
I consider the recent dump as a series of negative influence in 2022 because of all the negative things occurred this year.
The Russia-Ukraine war was the starting point triggering the dump and then there were many things contributing to the dump.
The latest dump made bitcoin fall from the $29k price to currently at $21k price which was mainly due to the high inflation the increased interest rates.
But as we know, sooner or later the dust will settle and once positive sentiments hit the market bitcoin will go bullish than ever.
2078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you trust a gambler with your money/savings? on: June 25, 2022, 11:50:48 AM
True life Story.
A friend i know recently narrated to me how his business almost collapsed due to trust he had for another of his friends who he thought he was helping by recruiting him to manage one of his Retail outlets. He narrated how having put him in charge of that point started observing a decrease in the the profit from there intended for savings and reinvestment. He confronted him severally to know what the problem was, but his friend attributed it to being ill and needing drugs, until one faithful day when he ran into him in a betting shop during working hours betting on virtual football games, how disappointing!

Questions for discussion
- Are gamblers eligible to hold financial positions?
- Do problem gamblers deserve a second chance to hold a financial position?

It actually depends on how severe are the gambling habits of that person. If he is an addict I would never trust him even when I am high AF.
But if he does casual gambling may be then we can put a little trust on him and monitor the results on regular basis.
But once we see that the results are not positive and if we find out that he is using the money for gambling instead then never trust him back again.
He doesn't deserve a second chance.

Interesting strategy and that is already a nice profit! I had the same thought in the beginning when they launched to buy low and sell high to get some quick profit but as always I couldn't really time the market (nobody really can). Amounts that I play  withare a lot of smaller and as my average buying price is around 60 satoshis, most of my tokens are locked for 1 year.

With that price you would have to wait several years not to sell with a loss. Do you at least take any profit from premium WOFs, do you buy additional tokens ro lower the average price?

It will take me indeed some time before I am back in profit but for the moment not buying anymore tokens as I have reached the premium membership that I want (currently I have a bit over 13k FUN tokens). I am happy with the 7 WOF spins that I get daily and also the increased interest on my BTC makes it interesting.

Even I had few FUN tokens which I use to trade now and then but since last few months the price was stuck at 30 satoshis.
I was waiting for it to go down so that I can buy more FUN tokens but the price was idle.
I just checked the price now and it has increased to 36 satoshis which is impressive since the market is currently dumping.
