2081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: February 21, 2018, 05:21:18 AM
Hey all,
Am strong holder for stellar.
since last 7 days Stellar hasn't improved much against BTC but dropping so badly since last 24 hours.
Any idea??When FairX might come out? or there any other ICOs or any banking Announcements.

Just keep holding, since BTC has surprisingly been on the rise, ETH and other alts have reained at current price or even lost a little.
This is normal and no need to panic sell.
Here is a very resourceful Twitter that I like to follow:  https://twitter.com/xlm_usd

I think the BTC will be back with 45% + dominance. But some alts will suffer a little from him. But soon we will enter a new Bull market and in relation to USD everything will rise.

The maximum amount you can pay in a certain route is determined by the guy with the LEAST amount of money in his channel

I did not know about that. It is clear that I need to study much more to understand NL. I hope that more solutions to continue decreasing the value of Fees are being developed since the risk of LN does not work as we wish is very high.
2083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Llew Claseen says BTC will hit 40,000 Dollar by the end 2018. on: February 21, 2018, 04:41:39 AM
Even if 90% of the ALts that exist today fail, we will still have thousands by the end of 2018. We are still far from having projects covering every opportunity to monetize the protocols and offer new ways to create economic incentives in this new economy.
2084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zcash vs Pivx vs Monero vs Bulwark vs Dash vs Verge vs Zcoin > Best Privacy Coin on: February 21, 2018, 04:38:36 AM
You should include Bitcoin Private. It looks like a pretty solid project with a great name, an interesting rebrand strategy and great programmers. Only it's a copy and past of Zcash.
2085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ZRX] 0X Project Speculation on: February 21, 2018, 04:32:12 AM
The best thing about this project is that they invest little in marketing and a lot in programming and partnerships. It has a very interesting roadmap and I believe it can, in fact, revolutionize this new economy.
2086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The HIDDEN GEM FOR 2018 on: February 21, 2018, 04:29:41 AM
Amount of copy and past projects that people are promoting in this topic is impressive. I hope that before investing try to at least read the whitepaper, how busy is github and if there are similar projects more robust.
2087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: First time investor, $6k buget, did I choose the right coins? on: February 21, 2018, 04:25:03 AM
First of all I want to say that browsing through this forum has been extremely helpful for me - somebody who knew next to nothing about cryptocurrencies before a few weeks ago. So many of you have been extremely insightful and I've tried to take in as much as I could! Also, rest assured that I've not chosen to invest my money based on where anyone else told me I should invest. The question I'm asking here is more or less strategic in nature, since there obviously aren't any guarantees in this sector.

So here it is, a bit over $6000 in savings, for the following coins:
2x Ethereum
1000x Cardano
3 x Litecoin
1 x Dash
1 x Monero
500 x Ripple
4 x NEO
100000 x Telcoin
100 x PIVX

My goal/expectation, aside from not losing all my money, is to triple my initial investment over the long term 2-4 years. What do you guys think, realistic? I tried to mix in some high ranked coins with a couple of well-regarded promising ones.
I have no idea about Telcoin. But all your other choices seem quite interesting. They are solid designs, with a very interesting roadmap that can take the price to heights. Mainly the Cardano and ETH.
2088  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: February 21, 2018, 03:55:24 AM
I fully support what muf18 said. It's not FUD. The problems he raises - excessive speculation, very low "real" adoption - are there.

Multiple times I heard (and continue to hear/read) opinions that "bubbles are necessary" because otherwise the general public won't know about Bitcoin. Bubbles and speculation would rise adoption.

I think that could have been true in the past. But this year it has changed. In many countries, everybody knows what Bitcoin is, now - and mostly they associate it with speculation, with "getting rich quick". And not with the things Satoshi envisioned (privacy, control for everyone, decentralization, global payment means that doesn't discriminate nobody).

So my opinion is that the cryptocurrency space has to mature, and it has to mature as fast as possible. A bear market is an opportunity, in this sense. However, the current speculation hype could go on for a while still. I don't even rule out a new ATH this year (although I don't really believe it). That would not be so good as most forum users are thinking here. It would make people associate BTC even more with a getting rich quick scheme, inciting them to invest too much, and too late (typical FOMO effect). And it would make governments more suspicious. Bans would not be the end of cryptocurrency, but a very restrictive global regulation would drop the price to very low amounts and "burn" many people - and Bitcoin would have a hard time to recover.

The "best case" for Bitcoin would be a stabilization somewhere between $5000 and $9000. Once it crosses $10K people are looking again for ATHs, and if it goes too deep in this bear market, then many people would get disappointed and would become Bitcoin enemies.

Now back to TA - we dropped a bit, maybe the $11800 region is already viewed as a test on the upper limit of the bearish channel.

But why parallel problems would negatively affect Bitcoin rather than strengthen it? I think the more common of projects like Bitconect get close to zero when they show flaws, this should strengthen solid projects like Bitcoin.

Cleaning up the market should strengthen those projects that prove to be functional and useful.
2089  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The year is 2020 - Lightning Network is a huge success! What now? on: February 20, 2018, 08:46:15 PM

So, even if we sidestep the matter of opening and closing channels, I think the differences in security model mean that LN payments are not interchangeable with BTC payments. There will always be a market for distributed and permanently stored payments/contracts/data on the blockchain.

If smart contracts were eventually developed, would they be exclusive to Blockchain or could they use LNs? It seems to me that for store of value and Smart contracts the miners would be essential and irreplaceable at this time.
2090  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-20]BitGrail Vs. Nano: Who Is Responsible For the $150 Million Thef on: February 20, 2018, 08:36:28 PM
There is every reason to believe that the Protocol is not ready. It is very insecure. This possibility that is commented on a synchronization problem had already been warned a few times. I do not trust this technology, I do not trust anything that is not based or derived from a blockchain. IOTA and NANO are two currencies that I do not want to invest or use.
2091  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-02-18] 64% OF GERMANS AWARE OF BITCOIN on: February 20, 2018, 08:32:18 PM
It would be interesting to have statistics like that from more countries. I think that besides knowing how many invest, knowing how many have any idea that Bitcoin exists would show a receptivity of the country for this new technology. Most people know about the stock market, but a very small percentage invests in it at global levels. Eventually, more people will be able to choose to leave their money yielding on stocks or options that will be offered in this new cryptocurrency market.
2092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin end? on: February 20, 2018, 08:28:21 PM
Bitcoin's success is derived entirely from Bitcoin's success, which itself was originally formed from Bitcoin's success.

2095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta Is Broken on: February 10, 2018, 05:34:23 AM
Etherdelta can suck. can be slow. It can be expensive. It can be confusing. Not for beginners.

But it is the best and safest solution for ER20 tokens. Not for traders. It is only for people who want to buy a token and store them safely.

Do we need an alternative? Yes always. But at the moment that exchanges like Binance stop working for a day. That BitGrail exchange has been hacked among several others, I can trust that the security of the tokens I bought in ED will be in my portfolio and at my disposal.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 17 m NANO STOLEN !!!!!! on: February 10, 2018, 05:21:05 AM
What I heard is that Hacker would have already transferred the entire balance to Mercantex and sold it for the most part. He is probably a big whale of BTC or ETH at the moment. But Mercatox has a very low volume. then he still must have the bulk of it in an external wallet.

I think the big question is if it could have used a failure of the protocol itself and not just a flaw in the exchange. I do not trust NANo anymore because of the number of errors that have already occurred with it.
2097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Google trends alerts on: February 09, 2018, 02:05:28 AM
People can look for bitcoin more when something bad may have happened. In this case the demand would be high, but the value low. But knowing that it is becoming more popular most of the time is good.

But I think it's very important it's in low-value Alts. If people start to research more about it, this is always an excellent indicator. I would like to be able to see in real time a comparison of the searches between the alts.
2098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottom reached, next bull run... on: February 09, 2018, 01:31:15 AM
There is no possibility of knowing what the Bitcoin bottom is at this moment. We have many challenges ahead. LN needs to work, governments need to be sympathetic to the project . Anything can happen. The reality is that we are always waiting for positive or negative news until global adoption.

So in the short and medium term, it is impossible to know where is the bottom. In the long run, any day you buy will be buying cheap.
2099  Other / Meta / Re: Competition merits reward, need sponsors Legendary, Heroes, Sr., Fully on: February 08, 2018, 04:45:35 AM
So you're trying to turn Merit into a token. I do not know if it's against the rules, but a contest out of the forum, organized by the telegram seems more like a scheme to earn Merit and Spam accounts than an honest attempt to help others. And participants may eventually receive negative Trust. If they start getting Merit without any motivation.
2100  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why did satoshi develop bitcoin in windows? on: February 08, 2018, 02:08:04 AM
Maybe he wanted to create Bitcoin in a way that soon after its creation people could use it. Rather than being somewhat restricted those niches that only use Linux. His goal has always been to take his product to the common people and ordinary people like GUI interface.
