1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop SCAM in the ICO market on: August 28, 2018, 04:38:11 AM
You have nothing if your proposal comes down to this points that you make in your first post. Several other projects promise something similar to this. But of innovator they have nothing. The only way to truly end scam projects with the options we currently have is to put strong regulations.

Or start educating people about bad projects. Unfortunately, many invest in the market act as if they had been playing roulette. They do not read about the project, they do not know what they do differently. They do not look for a profit or profitability. They do not research about their promoters and programmers.

It is a free market. I doubt that your proposal could end Scam projects without promising enforcement action. OR will be just another tool of education and if so, will be very welcome. We need more information, transparency and verification of current projects.

I still have 300 tokens from the old Stackit. Had not read about the end date of the Swap. I think you coordinated this information very badly. I would like the swap term to be extended so that I could swap the old token for this new one.

When I asked about it on the telegram channel they kicked me out of the channel.

You probably got banned from the group for other reasons.

StakeIt token swap had been going on for about a month and ended on July 31, 2018. The swap was announced on all possible communication channels including but not limited to Twitter, Telegram, Medium, Official Website, and so on.

A simple visit to the official website would have redirected you to a blog post explaining the swap & a link to our Telegram group, where we actively discussed and announced the token -> coin swap.

Therefore to suggest that we have coordinated the information 'very badly' is an expression which seems quite far-stretched to be completely honest with you.

You should definitely try emailing support@coinsoda.io for more details regarding this issue.Thank you.

Do you mean this post that the team has deleted https://medium.com/@stakeit/stakeit-blockchain-token-coin-6b35d3937fca Where the time for the swap was until 30 of August?

And the only thing that I discussed in the channel was how a moderator could not know the right dates from the swap. He wasn´t able to provide me the correct dates. One month is not enough time for something like this. And it is horrible that the people who believe in the project could end up with nothing.
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Big movers today on: August 28, 2018, 03:33:01 AM
Zil grew a lot too. There was a big drop when they announced the postponement of some projects. But found the bottom. And since then it has grown with a lot of volume. Today it was one of the fastest growing and the last 7 days also, going from a 25% appreciation. It is very important to separate low volume projects. A low volume project can be easily manipulated in an unknown exchange. I recommend when evaluating these projects, remove those of very small volume that are not in the respectable exchenges.

Few people actually own gold or silver. People generally buy promises from banks and other companies. Usually these companies claim to have large safes where they safely store all that gold.

Gold is a very risky thing to buy and keep at home. Just like big sums of money. We are here in a forum about a revolutionary product that destroys any other possibility of Store of Value. Exactly because it is much more easily stored and easily verifiable. If you have the seed from your wallet, you own that cryptocurrency.

Very interesting to know about this new project. Although I have not fully understood what his goal is and how the token will be used. Is it a kind of Patreon? Or will it only be for short campaigns?

1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 High potential projects with extremely low market caps 🔥 on: August 27, 2018, 05:43:49 PM
I would indicate The Abyss. It has a ready project, an excellent team, many future projects. It is a token that really has utility. I think DimCoin also has great potential. It is already widely used. It has several products on its platform. It is fast, with low fees. And an excellent portfolio. XLR also has great potential. It has a masternode which at the moment is very cheap, maybe one of the cheapest. It has been to 8USD and today it is for less than 2USD. They can have a pump any time.
1250  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Silvio Micali: Satoshi never imagined industrial-scale mining on: August 26, 2018, 05:57:15 PM

Cyberspace does not belong to legends

For context, Slush Pool emerged in November 2010. It was an independent project, but created within the community.
I would say that the problem is when legends center the whole decision-making process. But Bitcoin always had several people contributing in a decentralized way, several projects arose and many thanks to the economic incentives.

The great advantage of truly decentralized projects is that no matter how much a legend is admired, because it has no coercive power to forbid parallel projects or forks, the project can continue independent of its will.

Ie financial incentives hinder future predictions.

It's totally different from what happens with some projects like EOS or TRON.

1252  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Silvio Micali: Satoshi never imagined industrial-scale mining on: August 26, 2018, 03:49:00 AM
Silvio Micali is the founder of Algorand Blockchain. Is he right about this claim?

Quote
As he explained, when you put incentives out there, people learn how to use those incentives for making money in ways that are nearly impossible to predict. He pointed to bitcoin as a prime example, saying its creator probably never imagined bitcoin's incentive structure would lead to industrial-scale mining pools.

Satoshi wrote this still in 2008:

At first, most users would run network nodes, but as the
network grows beyond a certain point, it would be left more and more to
specialists with server farms of specialized hardware. A server farm would
only need to have one node on the network and the rest of the LAN connects with
that one node.

ribuck's description is spot on.

Pool operators can modify their getwork to take one additional parameter, the address to send your share to.

The easy way for the pool operator would be to wait until the next block is found and divy it up proportionally as:
user's near-hits/total near-hits from everyone

That would be easier and safer to start up.  It also has the advantage that multiple hits from the same user can be combined into one transaction.  A lot of your hits will usually be from the same people.

The instant gratification way would be to pay a fixed amount for each near-hit immediately, and the operator takes the risk from randomness of having more or less near-hits before a block is found.

Either way, the user who submits the hit that solves the block should get an extra amount off the top, like 10 BTC.

New users wouldn't really even need the Bitcoin software.  They could download a miner, create an account on mtgox or mybitcoin, enter their deposit address into the miner and point it at anyone's pool server.  When the miner says it found something, a while later a few coins show up in their account.

Miner writers better make sure they never false-positive near-hits.  Users will depend on that to check if the pool operator is cheating them.  If the miner wrongly says it found something, users will look in their account, not find anything, and get mad at the pool operator.

1255  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-08-25]WeChat, Alipay to Block Crypto Transactions on Payment Platforms on: August 25, 2018, 10:00:03 PM
Coindesk

Chinese mobile payment platforms WeChat Pay and Alipay are scrambling to keep up with regulators after recent announcements regarding initial coin offerings (ICOs) and cryptocurrencies.

Both payment giants have said that they will work with the government agencies closely to monitor cryptocurrency transactions, according to news releases on August 24.

As CoinDesk reported on Friday, five high-level regulatory agencies in China – including the People's Bank of China and the Banking Regulatory Commission – issued a warning against any cryptocurrency-related fundraising and trading activities.

In a release published by Tencent, the parent company of WeChat Pay, not long after the news came out, the company said that it has come up with three main measures to regulate any "problematic" platforms related to ICOs and cryptocurrencies.

Specifically, the tech giant said that it will prohibit users from using WeChat payments to make any virtual currency-related transactions. Moreover, it will conduct both real-time monitoring of daily transactions and risk assessment of any suspicious transactions.

At the same time, in an exclusive interview with BJ News, a local news outlet based in Beijing, Alibaba Group affiliate Ant Financial, which owns Alipay, said that depending on the situation, it will restrict or permanently ban any personal Alipay accounts that are involved in cryptocurrency transactions.
1256  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-14] How I Got Over $11,000 in Free Bitcoin on: August 25, 2018, 09:18:59 PM
He used the word Free in the sense that he did not use fiat to trade for Bitcoin. In addition, none of the services he provided could pay Fiat directly to him.
Of course, he worked to get these bitcoin, tokens and altcoins.
But the whole point is in this new dynamics of the relation between work and remuneration via Bitcoin. The virtual environment allows a series of small tasks that can be remunerated in cryptocurrencies.
1257  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-25] Google Searches for ‘Bitcoin Price’ Sink to Three-Year Low on: August 25, 2018, 09:07:47 PM
In the past, people did not have much idea of which sites offered the price, graph and how to buy. So most of the research was Bitcoin + what they wanted (price, where to buy, altcoin). Today they may have more saved sites, more apps, and look for more specific terms.

But the term is still much more researched today than it was two years ago.

Which account will you use to represent the ICOforum here? I would like to leave positive feedback after I receiving my payment. I think everyone should do it. Because even after the confusion with the former manager, you're honoring the payments.

I liked your attitude and honesty. Even if the campaign does not continue, I will still use your forum. And I'll use the signature for a few more days.
