The Ukraine will eventually adjust by developing alternative sources of power, including its own gas fields.

Developing gas fields is a very long task. Usually it takes 10-15 years to develop one, once the deposits are confirmed.

As of now, Ukraine doesn't have any confirmed deposits. So it'll take even more time.
20882  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vladimir Putin nominated for Nobel Peace Prize on: April 03, 2014, 11:08:56 AM
WW3? Never going to happen as long as Obama is the prez. If McCain / Romney was the POTUS, then half the world would have been nuclear wasteland right now.
20883  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine... Revolution. on: April 03, 2014, 11:06:50 AM
I lean more towards the third option, as the most probable, given previous history.

It'll never happen. The eastern Ukrainians hate their western countrymen and vice-versa so much that it even puts the Arab-Jewish rivalry to shame. Ukraine can never ever function as a united country. The only option left is partition.
20884  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [Promo] Bitcointalk Forum Accounts for Sale - Not Hacked on: April 03, 2014, 11:01:07 AM
Do you still have the accounts for sale?

Yes I still have accounts to sale. Please check my first post for the prices.

Trust rating of -4. Could you explain?
20885  Other / Off-topic / Re: Celebration when price hits 420 on: April 03, 2014, 10:54:32 AM
Recovered quite quickly in BTC-E. Right now trading at $430-435.
20886  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. WTF? on: April 03, 2014, 10:53:13 AM
So what would they be trying to cover up and what makes you think this?

My guess:

1. Suspicious (and illegal) cargo was loaded with the tacit permission from the Malaysian government. Can be gold, can be tons of $$$, or it can even be nuclear fuel or biological weapons.

2. People with fake identities were on the flight, with tacit permission from the Malays. May be FBI spies, or can even be the Malay Secret Service Personnel.
20887  Other / Off-topic / Re: What kind of PC chair do you use? on: April 03, 2014, 10:50:30 AM
PC chairs are quite expensive. I am using normal chairs for the past 6-7 years, and never had a problem with my back.
20888  Other / Off-topic / Re: $452 -> $0, Bitcoin ponzi bubble brusted, you lost your money! on: April 03, 2014, 10:49:39 AM
It was fairly recently, bring back newbie jail I say.

At least moderation would have done wonders. But it is up to the admins to decide.
20889  Other / Off-topic / Re: A human civilization experiment on: April 03, 2014, 10:48:28 AM
We have to settle in space, it's not just me wanting to, our population is getting so big Earth just doesn't have the resources or space to support us

Well... the population growth is declining in all regions of the world, with the exception of Africa and Muslim majority regions of Asia. Population has peaked in China, the most populous nation. So by 2050 or so, the world population will start to decline. The challenge is to preserve the earth until then. Looking at the current pollution levels, the world might become very much uninhabitable by then.  Angry
20890  Other / Off-topic / Re: A human civilization experiment on: April 03, 2014, 08:11:12 AM
Pretty much, if you think about it we're at the 'split into major factions' stage right now, with America invading smaller countries for resources and the same with Russia, so the only way we're going to get out of this situation is to go into space and find more resources so humanity can spread out again and settle down.

You want to settle in space?

Unfortunately our technology isn't that advanced to do so. May take many more decades for that to become possible. It may never happen in our lifetime.
20891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and PayPal. Is it ok to sell on PayPal now? on: April 03, 2014, 08:08:33 AM
Really?any such instances  so far?

Lot of instances. Just search here in BT itself. You'll be able to find dozens of threads on PP / Ebay banning users who have dealt with BTCs.
20892  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [Promo] Bitcointalk Forum Accounts for Sale - Not Hacked on: April 03, 2014, 08:06:03 AM
Why would anyone do this?

Rules have changed. Progressing from Newbie to Full Member / Sr. Member is a bit harder now.
20893  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-01] SMH: The next currency killer: African e-money M-Pesa on: April 03, 2014, 08:01:51 AM
WU charges very heavy fees for sending remittances to Africa (10%+ in some cases). No wonder that the Africans are shifting to Bitcoin.

Remittance is the main factor which is pushing upward the use of Bitcoin in Africa. However, I hope BTC will be used in other sectors as well in the near future.
20894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Island on: April 03, 2014, 07:59:43 AM
We should ally with North Korea and get a few nukes for free.

North Korea doesn't have any nukes. And most importantly, we should be politically independent. That means no alliances with anyone.
20895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your end game if BTC crashes overnight? on: April 03, 2014, 07:35:21 AM
Well... we have waited for 4 years (from 2010 to 2014) for the BTC to reach $1,000 from $0.001. Why can't we wait for 4 more years?
20896  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kim Jong Un Had His Uncle Eaten Alive By 120 Revenous Dogs on: April 03, 2014, 07:30:44 AM
Lets not forget those famines are one of the effects of the sanctions.

Definitely. A gift from the American government which wants to exterminate the citizens of their rival nations (such as DPRK, Iraq.etc).
20897  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Saudi Arabia To Classify Atheists As “Terrorists”… on: April 03, 2014, 07:28:27 AM
The Irony is Saudi Arabia is an ally of the Atheists America.

US is not atheist. 80-85% of the population believes in some sort of organized religion.

US needs the Saudi oil and Saudi Arabia needs the US protection against Iran. It is a win-win situation for both the parties.

Many uncontact people still exist today why not observed them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sentinel_Island

Andamanese are living there for the last 50,000 years. So you can't compare between the two.

BTW... there used to be some two dozen Andamanese tribes. Now there are just 3. And the Sentinalese are the last remaining uncontacted tribe in the Andamans.

Now comes the most important question. DO YOU ACCEPT BITCOINS?
20900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to get family/friends into bitcoin? on: April 03, 2014, 07:12:16 AM
It is not at all hard. Just 5 minutes of talk, and I convinced my cousin to collect BTCs.
