put it on one account with three people that know the password

the community decides by vote when to send money.

one of the three is sending

Pin

Yes, that could work!

I say....Anon, CFB & Klee....manage the account.

Edit : Its a long shot all three will disappear at the same time

The three should have the intention to support NXT in the long term, and have time to be there for the community.

So CfB is out Grin

I will repeat my idea again as a solution for AM to make it easier to send AM while saving us from spam & also save blockchain bloating.

I still like your Idea !!!!
message on invitation carries some potential.
Later, if more people got it, we could discuss the aspect:    1440 blocks vs. X blocks...

how would AM by invitation work?
2105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 18, 2014, 10:18:33 AM
You charge 1 nxt as messaging fee to send AM to an account but allow the sender to resend any amount of messages he wants to that same account within 1440 blocks.

the limit is 1000 bytes per AM....don;t know how much ur gonna wanna store.

Any amount of messages. So I transfer every 2 weeks my precious data on this precious blockchain and pay 1 NXT.

If you want to store then you pay....that's the same way now except it would cost you alot more & make it harder to do...NOW you pay 1 nxt and it stays FOREVER!

1440 blocks after the 1st msg he has to pay 1 nxt msg fee to send AM again.

If he wants to send to a NEW account he must pay 1 nxt msg to send AM to this NEW account.  After paying this 1 nxt fee he can send any amount of messages to this NEW account for 1440 blocks.

WHY THIS IS GOOD:  Grin

1) It allows you to freely communicate to another account but saves us from spam because its quite stupid to spam the same account & if you want to spam all accounts you have to still pay 1 nxt per msg.

2) To prevent blockchain bloat AM will have time limit in blockchain:

a) 0 nxt fee Arbitrary Msg  == 2 weeks storage in Blockchain

b) 1 nxt fee Arbitrary Msg == 1 month storage

c) 10 nxt fee Arbitrary Msg == 3 months storage

d) 100 nxt fee arbitrary Msg == 6 months storage

- Cheap data storage within our precious blockchain, isn't it? I move the data every month and pay only 2 NXT
- it is too complicated. I don't like it.

the limit is 1000 bytes per AM....don;t know how much ur gonna wanna store.

How we going to pay for further development and promotion of NXT when 10M is gone?

Spending and administer that 10M is the easiest part, but then what?

Long term, short term…

Any ideas, plans, visions?

Pin

If we all those plans get implemented over the Nxt 10 months then Nxt will be in a very safe position...

100,000 nxt x 100 ==10,000,000 nxt --- that covers a lot of mini-projects & contests

That's 100 contest over the nxt 10 months...100 ways to make Nxt better.....we are in competition....if we play it too safe and don;t keep ahead of the competition we will fall behind....both long term planning & short term actions are important.
2109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 18, 2014, 09:28:06 AM
I wouldn't block anything at all. There is no problem to find 10 trusted people.

Looks like idea to block 10 accounts failed. What about sending 1M to 10 accounts without changes in the code?

I say you keep the funds and we keep running these contest....seems to be working....if they want funding enter the contest if they create something good then they win the funding....not need to spend money if the work will not be done or be wasted.

SO....my idea: EACH MONTH....for the next ten months we spend 1 million NXT.

Contest: Can be marketing plans, PR plans, Client, Websites, Plans to further Nxt growth, etc.

LOOK HOW THE AM CONTEST IS MOTIVATING PEOPLE.

2110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 18, 2014, 07:16:10 AM
Why it's so important to decide and to it right now what to do with that 10M. Everything goes just fine! Let's just go with the flow.

Does anybody have a great idea? Let's vote if it should be done and then vote how much we should spend on it. What can be easier?

Somebody suggested to make a photoshoot with girls to advertise Nxt. Let's do it. Share ideas of the photoshoot, draw sketches etc. Then vote for the best idea and size of a bounty. And so on with the rest of unclaimed money.

I have something similar in mind. It is like a concept of "open bounty". Anyone can step up and present his/ her idea, propose a bounty and let the community decides. So we continue the tradition of asking for bounties in a decentralized fashion as we have been already doing in nextcoin and nxtcrypto forums so far. But now funding would be a bit easier to come by since we have common pool in addition to private donors's fund.

This will work easier when we have the voting system in place. A person presents his/ her idea, propose a bounty and action plan, and set up a vote. Community can ask questions in the meantime and when the voting is over, the project will be funded if the vote passes the majority. A democratic and decentralized method of funding projects.

We can even implement this type of "open bounty" even when the voting system is not yet in place. In fact, we actually did it one time already with the case of Maco's android app as the overwhelming majority refused to fund his 500K NXT request for his app. So we actually had a precedent in place already. Let's continue the funding process in this type of decentralized fashion instead of giving one person/ or group the authority of giving out the funds.

AGREE 100%.....this already worked very well...so lets continue it then...there are a few projects to fund right now.

@CFB.  I have a question regarding AM.  Can we make messages sent to any particular account public?  I was thinking we could use public messages as a feedback/trust system.  For example, if account "x" was selling something, I could go on blockchain explorer, lookup up that particular account, view public messages sent from previous users who had successfully purchased from account "x".  Thanks.

They r public by default.

Great, that's what I thought.  I'll see if nexern would be able to implement into Blockchain

Heard back from Nexern on including public messages (reputation system) with each account in BlockChain explorer as well as his new client.  He is going to include it.  We can now use public AM as a feedback/reputation system, since the transaction # will be associated with the message, you can check to make sure the transaction and feedback was legit and associated with a particular item for sale.  This will allow us to create simple listing markets (craigslist style), where most of the transaction can happen within the client from reputable sellers.

Still need some innovation but it's a step closer.

this also allows DarkNXT micro-news......messages broadcast from anywhere in the world...anonymously

Important announcement

BCNext devised a way to handover unclaimed coins in such a way that doesn't require multisig and still keeps the spirit of decentralization.

BCNext will choose 10 people. I'll contact these people privately to ask for an account id. Each of them will create a special account and send it to me. 1M NXT will be sent to each account (10M total, not 9M, so the community is supposed to subsidize the public nodes by itself). Jean-Luc will be asked to add a special code that blocks outgoing transactions from these special accounts. When the community decides how to spend part of the unclaimed coins, Jean-Luc will change the code to allow partial withdrawals possible. 10 chosen ones will send 1/10th of the required amount to the account the funds r supposed to go to.

Notes: Only account ids will be published, names of the people who control them will be known only to BCNext and me. Jean-Luc won't be included into this group. The goal of this obscurity is to remove community pressure on the chosen ones.

Discuss, the community may put veto on this approach.

Bad idea. REALLY BAD IDEA to change the client software and hard-define transaction rules inside the client. Am i alone who think so?

Bad idea for a couple of reasons.

1. For the community at large, nothing really changes. It just seems like more complicated to get the fund out.

2. Security reason: one account should have at least two people having an access to. As it is now I assume both bcnext and CFB have an access to the fund.

3. As in the proposal, the account holder is basically just an account holder since he cannot transfer the fund out anyway, don't see the need for annonimity.

4. Software needs to be modified, seem like just more work to be done.

5. Not sure what kind of decentralization it is when bcnext hands pick 10 accounts. But it actually does not matter anyway since as in this plan, being an account holder just seems like to have an extra burden without any real authority.

I would suggest bcnext and CFB just keep the fund for now until 1. We have a voting system in place or 2. Some kind of committee are formed.

i agree....the funds should not be left to a personal account but to the various committees.

a chosen member might disappear and we would lose access to the funds.

where are these guys going from....its like non stop distractions are what....

Edit: pastet89 & the other guy before him

Better look into what I wrote and answer my questions. If you can provide any answer that makes sence I will stay calm.

As it is not my purpose to troll, I have invested much money into NXT and I am planning to invest even more work as I am a developer. However, I am willing to know the whole truth from now as I do not want to write 8 hours a day a programs, using the Asset Exchange and at the end to find out that it will never be released.

Trsut me, I want all this story to be honest an correct as it is in my interest as well. But if it IS, CfB and other guys who says we are trolling will answer the questions and shut our mouths this way, instead of talking empty phrases for trollling the forum.

Can anyone give an exact answer to my questions as I ask them to watch for answers and not just to distract the thread?

Send & received nxt...Check
Alias system....Check
AM.....Check

All promised features which have been implemented have worked....so why should we also doubt Asset Exchange...

Edit: I'm sure there are others who are acting on this promise....so if you don;t take the chance you won;t be first in the market

I SUGGEST YOU WAIT 3-4 WEEKS THEN DECIDE.

BCNext and Come-from-Beyond are different, they use different language style

It doesn't even matter.....Nxt is bigger than any individual person....so lets just get on with building the technology.

I have no clue who is founder of Bitcoin is but that doesn't seem to be stopping it's growth.

EDIT: These things are just distractions....whoever is it who invented this we all owe him/her/them....we don't need to know who they are if they don;t want us to.

What incentive is there for a forging node to include a fee-less transaction into a block, especially if doing so would mean excluding a transaction that does come with a fee (due to space issues)?

fee transactions would take the 1st spot....its the same way now higher fee transactions always get included before lower fee transactions.

So, the initial transaction with a 1nxt fee goes onto the blockchain. But why would nodes choose to put subsequent AMs (without fee) into blocks, if it earns nothing (and especially if it means excluding a transaction that would earn it a fee)?

(I'm assuming all AMs go on the main blockchain, rather than being handled separately e.g. by some service provider)

As I said before higher fee transaction always get precedence over lower fee transaction...seeing how blocks will soon be forged at a constant 60 second rate....it argues that their will be room inside those block for these non-fee AM's....

If his msg is soooo important that it has to get inside the current block then he can chose to pay a msg fee....10, 20 maybe 100 Nxt....that option should be there.

It allows you to freely communicate to another account but saves us from spam because its quite stupid to spam the same account & if you want to spam all accounts you have to still pay 1 nxt per msg.

Better would be if you can only send messages again after the recipient replies to you. Not before.

Also, this still results in big blockchain.

This also doesn't really stop spam since the situation is the same if you implement this or not; the spammer will have to pay 1 nxt per message (to diff accounts) in each scenario

nothing will stop spam it just makes it more expensive to spam...you have to spend Nxt.

we implement Time limit on each msg sent to blockchain....1 month or 10,000 blocks...like snapchat....this would save blockchain bloat.

2119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 17, 2014, 11:02:08 AM
@landomata: Sounds intersting.

CFB mentioned it could be done but:

1) Community would have to agree.

2) We would need someone to code it in.

It would definitely improve usability & save us from SPAM which is why everyone doesn;t want to lower msg fees...I think this solves the problem.

EDIT: Its only spammers who send to ramdom accounts....most people msg the same people everyday.
