2101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 26, 2023, 10:44:29 PM
It will be hard to know. A lot of people, even the rich ones, stopped buying bitcoin when it peaked @ $68k. Everyone only thought of selling at that point, and the order books then are filled with fat sell orders looking to get out of the market right even before the crash occurs. Unless people see that the market is really pushing and not another fakeout, someone will buy at that price - especially the greedy ones looking to get more. Until that happened, asking this question is pointless as all things point to buying at that price being illogical since there aren't that many people willing to buy at that point.
2102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Important Points to Learn from Your Worst Sports Betting Losses! on: June 26, 2023, 10:14:43 PM
  • Have alternate plans to execute, so that loss can be minimised while the match is in progress.

This one is also dangerous IMO. By trying to chase and cover your 'unrealized' losses, you are already setting yourself for more losses. What if your live bet to compensate with your possible loss also turned out to be a failure? Sometimes letting these losses occur is much better than trying to get something off of the event and salvage a few dollars. It's not worth the time and effort IMO, and it's better to start researching for the next event rather than sulking in your defeat or trying to win back something off of the lost bet.
2103  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: June 26, 2023, 09:24:16 PM
4. The super-rich are taxed at a dangerously low rate
This sentence is completely bullshit, income tax is progressive tax where people get taxed based on the income they earn. If they earn lower than minimum, they don't need to pay any tax. If they earn minimum salary, they only get small taxed. If they earn a lot money, they need to pay a lot tax too!

But the problem is those billionaires can evade or avoid pay tax by manipulation.

You sounds like rich people is an evil while poor people is good people, the reason why they're poor is they're not want to try hard like the rich people.

Rich individuals who own businesses can opt to receive $1 dollar salary, and that is to avoid paying more taxes. I guess you can say that since the business is already paying tons of taxes to the government, the individual no longer needs to pay that much as well but still, rules are rules, and when you are rich and can literally do whatever you want, these rules don't apply to you.

Rich individuals still need to pay taxes just like the rest of the common folk, though they are getting taxed less in terms of percentage because they opt to receive only that much of an income, so in a way they are still playing by the rules.
2104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top Five Reasons Sports Bettors Are Attracted to eSports on: June 26, 2023, 08:40:16 PM
I guess you can also attribute that it's easier to learn video games and esports compared to traditional sports. It's way easier to be in the game and know the game when you also play the game, hence why more and more people are slowly transitioning towards eSports betting. There are also multiple tournaments being held for different games at a given time in short intervals, too, so it's way easier to look for something to bet on eSports compared to traditional sports.
2105  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question about casino, sports bet on: June 25, 2023, 11:43:29 PM
...///:::
Listing the apps is not the issue, the main problem is that there isn't enough demand from gamblers to their favorite cryptocurrency casinos to make mobile apps because people like gambling on bigger screens like on laptops of PCs, and, security is also one of the reason why casinos don't go for it.
Only the gambling sites can know which device or apps that most gamblers are using. More people are using phones to access internet now, unlike before that computers are more used. Phones are now designed in a way they are capable to be doing what computers are doing, unlike before. The more better phones are created, the more people are using phones to get access to gambling sites. Many are using phones today to gamble too.

Mobile web applications, in the beginning were very bad and native Apps emerged as an immediate solution, but today mobile web Apps are just as efficient, only some users can't seem to open the mobile web version and play/bet/gambler/etc.

Mobile web apps are slowly becoming powerful, too. Web applications in general have become better and better in recent years. Developers managed to cram a lot of computational magic in browsers that are a staple on a lot of internet-ready devices, and it's just the device of the end-user that will be the obstacle here. It might also come down to preferences and beliefs as native apps are, in general, more efficient than their web-based counterparts. It may no longer be the case now, but that line of thinking still exists nowadays.
2106  Economy / Economics / Re: I don't believe you on: June 25, 2023, 11:34:02 PM
Bottomline is, only keep what you are trading in exchanges and the rest, keep it yourself on your own wallets. Not your keys, not your coins, and it's obvious what this message wants to deliver since it has been uttered in this forum. No matter how trusted or how reputable the exchange is, no one knows when they will screw up and mess with others and keep their funds. One notable example is QuadrigaCX, with its CEO just suddenly dying in some faraway country with most of the money missing. That could happen at any time without us knowing, especially if we keep our funds in exchanges for a long time.
2107  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: June 25, 2023, 11:12:02 PM
do you all agree that with the emergence of fast transportation now, the economic turnover is also getting faster, this is based on the fact that any delivery will be distributed quickly, automatically it will make the price of living necessities and kind remains stable as long as it can be distributed quickly!
If I can get a box of pizza ordered faster than waiting, I will consider to have some more another day when I am lazy to wait to have something else that will take a longer delivery period. For a company with prompt delivery services, they will sell more because of impressive delivery time, that is if what they sell also is nice. This is one benefit of fast economic turnover due to improved transportation services to companies.

Exactly. That's why a lot of pizza delivery services are now adding the "30 minutes or its free" tag line on their marketing promos because they know that people will pay more for convenience. People will also go towards services that deliver things faster and get what their customers ordered in a timely manner because who wants waiting anyways? It promotes positive customer feedback, and in the grand scheme of things, pushes the customer to do something else that may also provide some positive economic output. Speed gets the gears of the economy turning a lot faster, and that's what we want in an ideal world.
2108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Important Points to Learn from Your Worst Sports Betting Losses! on: June 25, 2023, 10:33:34 PM
if you will keep yourself at bay when it comes to gambling, you won't get into trouble.
From the losses that I have made in sports betting, the biggest points I have learnt is that every gambler should not only depend on copy betting, that is copying games from other sports bettors without knowing exactly why you are betting on a particular team to win.

Knowing who to tail and what games to tail is also key to getting a lot more value out of your bets. There are some successful tipsters out there that are worth the follow and the tail, you just have to look for them. Also, only copy bets on sports that you really know, so you could assess whether that pick was made with much thought and analysis and not just some random bullshit that the other bettor gave you just for you to not bug him again for picks.
2109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 25, 2023, 10:05:11 PM
BlameF and dev1ce are the ones I am really looking forward to in CS:2. They have the experience and the grit compared to these new comers in the scene. B0rup also has that raw aim and mechanical skills to be the entry fragger that Astralis lacked for their previous iterations since the departure of the legends (xyp9x, magisk, gla1ve). Well, they still have dev1ce for his aggressive awping and IGL skills, but it'll be a hard task for buzz and staehr to prove they deserve to be in the team that once dominated the entire CS:GO scene.
If dev1ce will be both awper and IGL, we can say that he preferred to be like a cadian. Thus, they increased their firepower. Both bORUP and Staehr are good players, especially we can say that staehr is the form player of recent times who has been on the rise with sprout. Buzz will be more in the support role, I guess I can't say much for buzz, but I have great expectations from Staehr.

I might even go as far as saying that dev1ce is a better IGL and AWPer than Cadian, it's just that he's not having the right mix of teammates to help him achieve the top that he's supposed to be at with his skillset. Staehr, I have seen some highlights here and there, although it's too early to call that he'll fit right in. Buzz, hmm, a support role is a very flexible role, and usually something an IGL would do but we'll see what value will the guy add to Astralis.
2110  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think, do you see slave trading as a means of boosting economic grow on: June 25, 2023, 09:44:05 PM
I don't think it is even acceptable in today's day and age to have slaves, nor even discuss about its positive effects in the economy. Sure, there was once a time wherein slavery boosted some countries economic growth by means of its outputs and also the profits that they had on the slave trade, but that doesn't make it okay at all. The humans they are selling as slaves also have rights that they can exercise, and gone are the days wherein you can pay for someone else's life and keep them as yours forever, or until a certain period of time. The world no longer works like that, and thank the heavens it no longer does.
2111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 25, 2023, 09:11:17 PM
I dont trust KYC system at all. Mainly because documents are widely available on the dark market, thus making it stupid to ask to prove your «real identity», secondly, because based on sent documents (pictures and data), it is impossible to tell what kind of person is. Smiling and attractive person on a photo, that pays all the utility bill in time can be a real scammer IRL.
You describe the weakness of the system, but the casino will probably realize that the KYC documents uploaded by customers are not theirs. It might not be as fast as it could be, but when a customer has trouble with a withdrawal, then all may be revealed.

After all, KYC in casinos is a way for the government to expect casinos not to be used as a means of money laundering, but the negative impact even outweighs the positive impact. Privacy concerns are the most obvious, that's because some casinos are unable to keep their customer data from leaking to third parties.

Reading from the responses here, I guess you can say that most of where the concern comes from is the ability of the platforms to handle sensitive data. Not all of these gambling platforms can really provide security to the tons of KYC documents they are receiving from their users, and not all of these platforms intend to really submit these data - some might even be fishing these documents themselves and sell it online, who knows. The system in itself is really weak and there are tons of angles in which it can be attacked, but there aren't any workarounds to it unfortunately.
2112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 08:44:51 PM

CP3 on the other hand won't have any issues with Steph. I've seen them before talking in a video call and all respect from both players too. What's done on the basketball court will stay there. And we all know how down-to-earth Steph is. He ain't the fighting guy and hating people.
I am going to wait where Draymond ends up and I wish it will be a different team. He should try the Wizards.  Cheesy

Draymond and Klay both want max contracts and there is no way the Warriors can pay both of them. I think Draymond stays and Klay gets traded. Makes more sense with Poole being traded away. I can't say that's what going to happen for sure, but that's the feeling I have.

Draymond Green is already in the free agency after he declined that $27 Million player option for the 23-24 season and I don't think that he's still inclined to go back to the Warriors if they cannot come up with anything that somehow near Draymond's demands. As for Klay Thompson, the Warriors still have one more season to decide what is the greater good for the team and if Klay will have another bad season then I think it's safe to assume that he will not be handed with a max contract.

Klay really needs to rethink his demands as it's obvious the Warriors will opt to go for Draymond Green's max contract compared to his. He's been below average the past season and it's really not worth it to pay him that much considering that Green can potentially put in more numbers and more work for the team and get them closer to another ring. Green is not in his best form, and he should recognize that himself.

As for Draymond, a lot of teams can still pick him up, although I'm pretty sure the Warriors are really wanting to keep him on their side of the fence as they knew that this man's playstyle suits the team so well.
2113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 25, 2023, 08:32:07 PM

Cast your bet in a match that have yet not started or bet when the game is already live?
It must have been asked before but in case new sports bettors have not yet read such thread, reply back your opinion about it.

Found myself losing when the money line changes from 1.75 to 4.35 as the game began. But sometimes when I also wait for the game to start, it changes to worse such from 1.75 to 1.10
Usually it's not so good to bet when matches have started because live bets have often big margins, so odds can drop from 1.75 to 1.71 for example just because the scheduled time of the beginning of the match has been reached, even if players haven't started to do anything. Bets with fix odds allow you to bet at the current instant without having to think about how actual probabilities will change till the beginning (or till the end if live betting is available) of the match.

Well, if the platform allows you to cash out in the middle of the match, you can get easy money off of it. It may not be as big as you can get, but there's still some money to be had on it. The flexibility of live betting is what makes it more attractive to bettors. You can know which guys in the team are out in the last minute, and who will be the replacement if any. The fixed odds offered by pre-game bets however, are also good especially if you are betting on an underdog that performed unexpectedly well in a game that they're not supposed to be on top.
2114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 25, 2023, 06:42:34 PM
If I don't have the time to watch the game (which I don't most of the time), I just leave a bet on the game on lines that I think would retain more value than other lines. If I have time, I prefer to bet on live and cash out immediately when I see that something is about to go wrong on my bet - kinda like preventing a loss before it occurs. Most casinos allow that on live bets and it's one of the safest ways to make money on sports betting that not a lot of people are aware of.
2115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 24, 2023, 11:59:14 PM
So if you want to build a casino, you should have prepared 2 points; big capital and good human Resources management.

Big capital is a must for a casino, though I wonder if these casinos created from crowdfunding can be able to withstand huge wins from their players.

If there will be someone who could funnel money into the platform then perhaps it's a yes, otherwise the casino will easily go under and with it are the money of those who have chipped in some money to make the platform a reality. Moreso if the platform doesn't have any volume apart from its regular users then there's no way they could delay giving out the winnings while also keeping the business intact.

Creating a casino is for the deep pockets, or those with connections with deep pockets.
2116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Predictions of Bitcoin Halving accurate? on: June 24, 2023, 11:38:22 PM
Those were never accurate.

There will always be a variation on how fast each block is mined, and so with those variations adjusts the time that we reach the next halving point. AFAIK, those predictions are always pretty close to the exact thing, and each prediction becomes more accurate as more we get closer to the exact halving point.

Heck, even if we are 5 or so blocks away from the halving point, we'll still never get too accurate on our predictions.
2117  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: P2P Scams : Where does the government stand on: June 24, 2023, 11:19:30 PM
This is where you need to be extra cautious. There are tons of scam even in centralized platforms that offer P2P buy/sell options. In Binance, the buyer of the coin is usually the one who is more prone to scamming - you can pay the seller and send a payment request and they can just ignore that, and your money is gone just like that. They use fake IDs to get verified in the platform that's why they are brave to do this without hesitation whatsoever.

In these situations, it's best to be vigilant when releasing the coins/funds/whatever. If the other party shows red flags in a transaction, it's best to take your time until they fulfilled their end of the deal before you release the money. Confirm that you have received whatever it is that you need receiving, before marking any transaction as complete. Or better yet, just deal with verified accounts with high reviews to avoid getting scammed. The rates may not be as great, but there is some guarantee to an extent that you'll receive your money/crypto.
2118  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: June 24, 2023, 10:58:50 PM
It is true. Lots of $$$ are lost every day on places wherein the traffic situation is bad. Keeping things moving in a smooth flow actually helps goods to move from point A to point B a lot faster, and if these are goods that can be sold fast, just imagine how much of that goods can be sold in a day if there aren't any slowdowns or blockades that hinder its way. Same goes with public transport. That's why countries that are rich have invested so much in public transportation because moving people from one place to another helps them complete their work faster, leaves more room for them to shop around, and their overall well-being is just really taken cared of.
2119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, investment, stocks..... on: June 24, 2023, 10:22:38 PM
with the lack of soft laws on online casinos I doubt very much that online casinos can compete with certain physical casinos that are already established in the market for many years which allowed them to have government licenses and have stocks on the market, this is another big difference online casinos and physical casinos. now on the question of profit, honestly I don't see stocks giving you much profit, and you need to put a lot of capital to see some profit, also real casino business is very risky so putting money in physical casino stocks can be a very risky move

Usually, physical casinos are owned by companies that are already in the hotel and restaurants business for a long time, which kind of gives them an edge since they already have a customer base they can send promotions to which are usually rich or have the money to blow on a casino. That's one of the edge they have over online casinos that basically needs to build everything from the ground up before they can really start earning something.

The ideal is that you invest in cryptocurrencies which are one of the few assets that can give the most returns in 3 years, now if you put money in the casino to play then don't expect to get any profit, on the contrary all you will have will be losses, casinos are just a place for fun and they are not a source of profit, in the process of fun if the person is very lucky they can win a jackpot and become rich, but this is not something that happens constantly, it depends on luck. That's why for the sake of profit the best option is to invest in cryptocurrencies

You just have to pick the right cryptocurrencies as well. There are some out there that performs really well for a short period of time which makes them attractive to the untrained eye, but over time they lose their charm and value simply because they aren't made to hold value to begin with, and that people have moved on to other projects once they realize that the hype is dead on that particular coin.

Astralis has made a radical change as I thought.gla1ve and xyp9x have been moved to the bench and borup and staehr have replaced them.the only name left from the old astralis roster is dev1ce.I think he stayed because he maintained his performance after a long time, otherwise awper could have come in his place. With the recent changes, I think that astralis' performance will increase, especially since gla1ve and xyp9x are far from their old performances, such a decision was important for astralis' success in future tournaments.

Now with the summer break it's a good time to shuffle the teams and get some training in before the next big tournaments. The last big major was played all the teams also need to prepare themselves for the release of CS 2 which is going to bring a lot of changes to some game mechanics. Astralis has been one of the strongest teams in the past but underperformed last and this year. They didn't manage to qualify for the top 16 teams of the last Major in Paris and also did poorly in the IEM in Dallas, losing against FaZe and Mouz. Only being ranked #15 in the world for such a prestige team that dominated CSGO for a long time is not a good situation and big changes where necessary. gla1ve hasn't performed well lately, so benching him is a good idea in my opinion. Staehr seems to be a good player that is still very young with 18 years, they can train him into the position they wan't him to be. As for b0RUP he has some good experience with Copenhagen flames, but it remains to be seen how well he is going to do in Astralis.
As you said, Astralis really doesn't deserve this ranking despite being such an organization. It is not acceptable that the team, which has shown a dominant game in previous years, is far from its current performance. With these changes, they need to prepare themselves for CS:2, including the last CS:GO tournaments. I don't know if they have enough time for the remaining CS:GO tournaments, but it is obvious that if CS:2 is to be continued with this roster, preparations should be started as soon as possible.Astralis has both renewed its roster and set sail for a new success with young players.I think they will achieve good things with the youth of Buzz and Staehr, the experience of b0RUP and dev1ce, as well as the talent of blameF.
