correction

"We were due to be on the expo today, booth 401, we were going to demo our 2.4's, but in light of this news we felt its best not  to go and to go to Toronto instead.

There's this new Internet thing called YouTube that you can use to demo your 2.4 in mere seconds. You should try it sometime.

Although it might be hard to make a video of something that doesn't actually exist.
2142  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Any miner worth buying right now on: April 08, 2014, 03:30:16 PM
S1 is the best deal right now. Here's my rough estimate on a new S1:

http://btcinvest.net/en/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=6119726089&dcosts=400&diff_mincrease=15&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=200000&diff_mincreasedecrease=5&btcusd=449.88&dpowcon=400&btcusd_mincrease=0&pcost=.10&calcweeks=26&dleadtime=1&action=calc

Break even in 4 months, but only if you have a decent price on electricity. Summer cooling costs could eliminate any chance of profit.
2143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 03:01:21 PM
Delivery schedules shall be considered extended by a period of time which AMT deems necessary due to the event circumstances or cause of delay.

Yes they can extend the schedule, but the FTC has clear cut rules for business operating in the US about how they must go about that.

They can't just not ship the miner. If there is a delay it has to be reported to all of the customers. And at that point the customer is able to chose to agree to the delay or decline the delay and ask for full refund.

Thier rules don't supersede federal or state governmental rules or mandates on proper business practices.

I recommend AMT read over the rules they must follow.

http://www.business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule

Specifically this part:

Quote
If you decide you can ship the order later, you must seek the customer’s consent to the delay.
...
if the customer chooses not to wait, the customer can cancel the order and obtain a full and prompt refund

Thanks for the updates AMT... Please respond to my email when you have tracking numbers for order 899. Also how come people in the 1000 range have received miners before me?

If they are, its because they are opting for the kit/rig. Its the above pics, basically everything aside from the case and supply.

This doesn't look like a kit:

up and running fully hashing.
2145  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 04:21:25 AM
they care about updates and status on whats happening.

Good idea. Let me make it easy on you. Fill in the blank:

AMT has finished shipping all orders up to #_____.
2146  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2th/s bitcoin mining rig worth it ???? on: April 07, 2014, 10:32:23 PM
Hi there hope i get some positive info on this as im quite new to mining ... I here alot of mixed results when it comes to profitability with mining.

What i would really lile to know is would a 2 th/s system that i paid $8000 for be worth it over a years worth of mining with or withought having to pay for electricity bills

From what coin warz tells me i should be earning roughly 60 btc per anum

With difficulty increases, you might earn about 20 btc. I'll let you decide if that's profitable or not.
2147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 07, 2014, 12:57:05 PM
her lol. and thats not special treatment. its sensible. you go order something online do you expect it quicker than going to the shop yourself? no

and on a side note my order should be shipping today along with a friends, we opted for the kit option. but like you say this is "preferential treatment" because im the president of the uk and he is my coalition leader. rofl

mblackout did you take the kit or a built unit? u got any pictures or setup tut. or is it very simple

Mblackout got a complete system and was not the first order in the queue. That's special treatment.
2148  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 07, 2014, 05:20:14 AM
What was your order number?

I don't think you'll get a straight answer. Mblackout received special treatment by picking up her order from AMT.
2149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 06, 2014, 11:24:05 PM
If you are interested in my x2 1.2TH/s miners, PM me. I will sell in HAND for 25-27 BTC to the highest bidder.. I'll even pay for shipping.

LOL. 25-27 BTC for a broken miner? You could buy cloud mining for that price and not have to worry about maintenance and electricity costs.
2150  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 06, 2014, 03:52:38 PM
To put this reply in perspective, the mortgages weren't taken out to start/finance AMT, but rather taken out quite recently to keep AMT afloat per Joshua Zipkin's own words.

So, they're bankrupt? They spent all the pre-order funds, and more, and still haven't produced the miners that were sold. That means they're selling every miner at a loss. Not a very good business plan.
2151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 06, 2014, 04:20:03 AM
If you have been keeping up, you should easily recall that Josh stated that he and one the partners of AMT, namely, Jim Brown, both mortgaged their homes to JUST bring AMT to this stage, i.e. get all the miners ordered to date out da door.

Don't tell me you actually believe they took out mortgages just for these products.

2153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: April 05, 2014, 12:17:33 AM
IMO bitmain is doing it right by moving to a biger design. The S1 units are great, but with some tweaks the S2 looks fantastic-er

They were so close on the S2. Their big mistake was using PCI-type connectors to hold the cards in place. You just can't ship systems like that. The S1 was perfect because each board was firmly bolted to the frame.
2154  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HOW TO MINE FOR FREE OR ATLEAST ON THE CHEAP (LEGALLY) on: April 04, 2014, 06:18:32 AM
HHO generators are not snake oil. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxyhydrogen

However, turning it into electricity burning it wouldn't make a lot of sense as you need electricity in the first place to generate HHO.

From the article you kindly posted:

Quote
The energy required to generate the oxyhydrogen always exceeds the energy released by combusting it

HHO generators are a net negative. Worthless. Like snake oil.
2155  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Realistic difficulty Projections on: April 04, 2014, 05:42:52 AM
The network's current growth rate is impossible to keep up. Unless BTC hits $10,000 this year (and even if it does) the network is not going to scale as much as it has. Im gonna predict a 10,000,000,000 difficulty by June

Yup, probably in that ballpark. But that's not the top. It's going to keep going, and going, and going.
2156  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL starts taking pre-orders for 1TH Imperial Monarch Miners on: April 04, 2014, 05:27:51 AM
Lol for 744$ you could buy almost 2 Antminer instant, with ~400Gh/s (the upgrade amount)

Who throw good money in the same hole and dosn't learn? The world is full of idiots, and i am in the wrong business.

A lot of people. Often called "chasing a loss"

2158  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 03, 2014, 11:18:44 PM
anybody got some fancy ideas how to minimize overheads? legal options.

Small Claims Court is super cheap and easy. Max amount is $12k in PA. Biggest cost would be to get to PA for the court date if you lived far away. Once AMT receives the filed court case, I'm sure they would jump at a chance to refund your money immediately. It's a slam dunk case, and they know it.
2159  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: April 03, 2014, 09:36:04 PM
Their contracts should have years 2-5 in the bank by the end of year 1 and just pay out from that pot of money over time, no hashing (or electricity) required.

Not possible. They're offering roughly $3/ghps. That's essentially the going cost of hardware. If they have unlimited free electricity, then yes, it's possible. Who here believes they have unlimited free electricity? They might break even for a year. There's no way they'll survive 5 years.
2160  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Realistic difficulty Projections on: April 03, 2014, 09:29:48 PM
in fact at the current projection rates it will no longer be profitable to run an Antminer S1 in about a month from now (depending on your individual variables it may not be profitable now).

Let's go with 180 GH/s at  6 B difficulty and $450 for a starting point and $.15/kwh.

Income: $6.75
Expense: $1.30

S1 is still quite profitable for everyone right now.

Go out several months at 20 B difficulty.

Income: $2.00

Still profitable for nearly everyone. A lot of miners are paying less than $.15.

Difficulty isn't that hard to predict. It's going to keep growing at 10%-20% per adjustment for several months. What's quite unpredictable is the exchange rate. It could drop in half or double in mere days. If summer hits and the exchange rate keeps dropping, then a lot of miners are going to hit that unprofitable period. Like you said, miners with high electrical costs are going to need to sell their hardware to miners with low electricity. On the other hand, there's a very good chance of the exchange rate jumping up in a few months, which will keep everyone profitable.
