Can someone post from Local language? If can, how people will manage to understand the quality? You can try. Just mention the language with the link, maybe someone can read it. Deleting posts of members on YOUR ignore list, would limit them, especially as this post I believe is supposed to present 'potential' quality posts to merit sources, and people could raise the quality of their posting, just for this reason. I don't expect any quality from the members on my ignore list. Ignoring them just saves me time. Most users on my ignore list got there for not being able to follow giveaway or signature rules. New additions are for creating useless posts. i have suggestion regarding report format to save time. Added

Congratulations LoyceV! You are the first recipient of a BPIP Award! Thanks I don't know what to say, this is so unexpected I didn't prepare a speech

This has been a work in progress for a few weeks as my sMerit supply slowly dwindles, but this thread has somewhat forced my hand a bit Sorry I'd say you made good choices for meritable posts. Theymos just added 3 more sources (are you one of them?).
|
|
|
The BPIP Extension could be modified to replace the current rank with "Banned". BPIP maintains a real time list of banned users. That would be a really cool feature, but I try to use as little extensions as possible. I think I have users from archive.li and archive.org that BPIP doesn't have yet, but couldn't quickly sort them out. I'll get back to you on that.

I'd actually like to hear Theymos's opinion on something like this. There really isn't any system in place whereby merit sources can find the hidden gems. We've tried individual threads, but those turn into shitfests where shitposters point to a bunch of garbage posts they've made. I wanted to write a post how we don't need theymos to try this, and we/you/I/someone can just create a thread, but it seemed quicker to just do it. See: Report to Merit Source Let's try this

It's been suggested before, and khaled0111 suggested it again today: a possibility for users to report good unmerited posts to Merit Sources. Since several users like the idea, why not give it a try without asking theymos for new features? It's Friday night, my couch is calling, so I'll keep this short for now.RulesDon't post topics that are just a translation of another topic or website. Post a link to a good post without Merit. Make it easy for Merit Sources, use this format: [b][url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1234.msg1234#1234]TITLE[/url][/b] Description : <optional, but either description or category must exist> Category : <optional> {guide, opinion, news, question, technical question, technical answer, share technical improvement/upgrade, etc.} Section : <optional>
(quote edited a bit) Example : If you spam this thread with useless posts, I'll delete your posts and put you on ignore. If you're on my ignore list already, I'll delete your posts. I'll probably delete posts after a few days, whether they received Merit or not.Let's see how this goes. The goal is to find good posts from users who don't deserve to be blocked from ranking up by Merit.Merit sourcesIf you want to help, please add this topic to your watch list (or post here). If you post as a Merit source, I won't delete that post. Please don't abuse this, if that happens it will end as quickly as it started. I'd be very happy if this thread becomes as big as my Report plagiarism thread.

This has been suggested before. The problem is getting users to qualify, and if I look at the posts you've Merited, those wouldn't be choices I need to receive from someone as suggestions. According to forum stats there are around 7800 new posts daily. This is old data, and probably an average. In the last week, 124,306 posts have been created (17,758 per day). However, if you look at patrol, you'll see most posts are not worth reading. I'm already using this from my LoyceMobile. I create a post, and delete it a few seconds later. I find my notification later on: LoyceV, you have been mentioned in the following messages: Economy - Trading Discussion - Re: LastLaughingGuy - day trading diaryLoyceV make this guy Member

The whole ecosystem, if not as heated as in 2017, is nonetheless thriving, with many projects starting to deliver and use cases spreading across the board. This is the main thing indeed. Bitcoin is gaining ground, and it's always had a history of overshooting the long-term average price, followed by a sharp drop.
My 2019 Crypto Resolution can be summarized in just one word: HODL! via Imgflip Meme GeneratorIn 2017, I came up with the plan to sell a small amount of Bitcoin, each time the price went up a certain percentage. That went better than I ever expected! My next sale is planned around $20,000, and I stick to that plan. I expect the next MOON to start 4 months after the next halving, so that will be somewhere in 2020. That brings me to my conclusion for this year: HODL!Credits to GameKyuubi for giving us the word "HODL".Terms and conditions (the boring bit) - All submissions must be in English;
Technically, HODL isn't English, but I hope you can let this slide
It can be about lambos (but we know you can do better), or something else, entirely - it’s up to you. Lambo you said? Give it time: (not mine, not an entry, but too good not to post here ( credits))

I known that it's better if I can pinpoint exactly calendar time, but even Theymos have not cared about that It would have been much more considerate if theymos would have sent the first Merit at midnight exactly To take away all doubt: the first Merit was this one: 1516831941 1 2818066.msg28853325 35 877396 Use EpochConverter to convert 1516831941 (Unix Time) to GMT: Wednesday 24 January 2018 22:12:21.

All loans shall be disbursed in ETH from my wallet: 0xf8ca336c8e91bd20e314c20b2dd4608b9c8b9459 Can you sign a message from that address saying "Hi LoyceV, today is January 4, 2018 and my nickname is Cinematics on Bitcointalk"? Possible collateral scam My thoughts exactly. I've seen this before, probably because Vod tags all Newbies who ask for a loan. Thread archived

I told you, you need to get back to your human senses. It was the shortest, most general question one could ask on the Bitcoin forum. It was a good question, in 2010: How have you earned your Bitcoins?Nowadays, with thousands of spam bots spamming "short, generic questions", it's (at best) an insubstantial post.

I think it's time Maggiordomo to be white-listed by the mods so you skip the cool down time between posts.
What is the current restriction for member regarding this? Maggiordomo has to wait 11 seconds. That's like an eternity for a bot I'm not sure if whitelisting would lower this. The minimum (for 500+ Activity) is 4 seconds. Is adding "banned" status on banned member requires a lot of coding? If not, can theymos enable it? Or why don't he enable it already? Several users (including me) have suggested to set the Rank to "banned" ( oldest reference). It's not going to be implemented any time soon: I'm not going to respond here in detail to all of these ideas. It'd be extremely long. I will classify them as OK/maybe/no: • A publicly displayed 'banned' rank under a person's username for permabanned accounts (people are wasting both theirs and staffs time reporting already banned users and bots). No. Or not yet. Or the idea would need to be significantly modified. (quote shorted to the relevant parts, click the link for many more suggestions)

A topic title with [] breaks your posting: LoyceV, you have been mentioned in the following messages: Proposed fix: replace the [] by {} or something else. The forum now also insists to add this to my post:[/list]

Great, next week i'll start to have a look on how to integrate the leaving of the feedback into the bot and start processing these initial ~150k user in a semi manual way. Thanks for doing this! I won't update http://loyce.club/bans/banned.txt until you're done. After that, I'll start creating updates for your bot. The other files will get regular updates already. Can this list have a sidenote with the reason for the ban? This would help people to identify the reason. Just an idea. If there is a way to edit the list by others, it would be better. There's no way for me to know why a user was banned, and considering the size of the list, I'm not going to manually add data. This list isn't meant to aid banned users, it's meant to help hunting them down. The answer is "plagiarism" anyway

Updated weekly dataset on the assumed calendar in Dutch time. If you used my data, it's not Dutch time but "Merit time": I've used the same "time convention" as I used for my full merit transaction history: "Days" start the second the first Merit was transfered, and count exactly 3600*24 seconds after that. It has nothing to do with calendar days in any time zone. "Weeks" use the same, but count 7*3600*24 seconds after the first Merit transaction.

Lauda appears as trusted on my Trust Wall - was (s)he reinstated, or is it I trust someone who trusts them? Tomatocage excluded Lauda, you've excluded Tomatocage, so Lauda ends up (0) instead of (-1) for you.

ProblemUnlike Mods, users can't see if someone is banned. It's a waste of everyone's time to report plagiarism or other abuse if the user is banned already. SolutionI made a list of as many banned accounts as possible. This is very useful for automated spam searching. Vod gave me old data from modlog. I've added more data from Vod's site BPIP.org, archive.li and archive.org. Later, OmegaStarScream gave me a list of 422,563 banned accounts (out of the first 940,000 userIDs). I removed this list 5 days later, because it was "for Mod eyes only". List of 159,302 613,336 207,613* banned usersFor human processing: this list includes links to the full Merit history (if there is any), and profiles on BPIP: 1. https://loyce.club/bans/banned.html (Warning: 42 MB, I recommend to download and save banned.html.gz instead (4.3 MB)). Sample: 2. https://loyce.club/bans/usernames.txt (smaller for quick searches: CTRL-F) Sample: 1059: wirher 1530: regina2020 1655: kat 1700: TylerJordan 1779: chickenado For machine processing: 3. https://loyce.club/bans/banned.txtSample: All lists are sorted on userID, oldest accounts are shown first. UpdatesI'll update the lists daily every hour daily, using data from modlog. IncompleteUnfortunately, I don't have a complete list of all banned accounts. If a data dump becomes available, I'll use that. If someone (trusted) has older copies of modlog, please let me add them. NEW: Unbanned? If your account was unbanned, all you need to do is make a post (anywhere on the forum) and you'll be removed from the list in about a day (see details). Mistakes? If I made a mistake, just post here. One last thingPlease don't join this list *Counted at the start of this topic Updated on July 12, 2020
