258 on the first day and with 4 wickets gone it seems the Pakistani bowlers were able to restrict the agressive batting of NZ. I still feel by the end of today the Kiwis batters will easily score 300+ runs. In case if they lose all of their wickets then still 300+ score would not be easy for Pakistani batters to chase knowing the inconsistent batting line up.

Newzealand looking good at the moment. The opening pair has already scored 80 runs. Tim Latham is on 42 and he might reach his half century. Conway is on 37 and both batters have a strike rate which is above 60.  Assuming these two continue till lunch Inam hoping a score of 200+. Pakistan not looking good at the moment. Their bowlers are unable to create any pressure at the moment.

Back in Dec 2021, many of us had so many hopes when PCB announced this home season.

Finally, it's coming to an end for tests with historical outcomes, not in a good way tho. I hope they end the last match on a high note.

Not having any hopes for the next one scheduled tomorrow. They will play in the same manner and Inam sure they will create another flat pitch that will only help the batters. Being said that I still feel NZ will try to win the next but looking at he boady language of Pakistan players they are more in defense mode than attack. I hope the new PCB chairman takes some big action to improve the overall performance of Pakistan cricket.

This is an alleged pitch for the next match, it has a good amount of grass so maybe things would be different tomorrow.

Let's hope they don't trim grass too much or completely shaved it and turn it into another highway.

Hope is all that we have from PCB. They shifted the test match from Multan to Karachi citing foggy weather condition. They messed up the first match due to bad pitch and if they keep the pitch in the same condition as in the image then we can expect some good cricket. I also hope that they do not cut those grasses as it will certainly assist the bowlers. I also hope that Pakistan stops playing a defensive game and start focusing on attacking the Kiwis.

Edit: Match has started! NZ won the toss and decided to bat first.

The first T20 bilateral match for this year will payed between India and Srilanka on 3rd of January. The match will be played in the wankhede stadium in Mumbai. A lot of new Indian talents are part of the team. How many of them become part of the playing 11 would be interesting to watch. I am also looking forward to find out who will be opening the batting with Ishan Kishan and will Umran Malik be given an opportunity in the first match.
New approach and fresh squad but they still neglected Prithvi Shaw in T-20 tho.

He has proven in domestic cricket that he has the ability to score runs at a good rate but still the selectors have neglected him for both T20 & ODI series with Srilanka. I guess they are prefer players who have done well in IPL and are not considering those who have done good in domestic. Last IPL I do not remember Shaw doing good.

Panth is very lucky! Surviving a Brutal car accident wherein the car is burned down. It was his Mercedes car and he was traveling from Uttarakhand to Delhi. He has suffered serious injuries and how bad are those is not clear at the moment. Wishing him a speedy recovery and praying that his cricket career doesn't gets affected due to his injuries.

Looks like Kane Williamson might score his double century in this match against Pakistan. Sodhi has alt scored his half century and he might also get his century. This test match is now good for creating records. The lead is only of 146 runs and I am pretty much sure that NZ would continue to bat throughout today and if they have wickets in hand they would bat tomorrow too. Match is heading towards a draw.

I am not denying the facts! I am only trying to predict what might happen to him. It is a possibility that he might only get called for test cricket. Although not a lot of test cricket is played now days but if he doesn't improve his performance in T20 he might lose his IPL contract too. There was time when India had very few WK+Batter, now we have more than one who are  trying to be part of test team and most probably they might get a chance too.

IMO, Rishabh Pant remains as the no.1 keeper batsmen in India. Who are the other options? Dinesh Karthik is almost 38 years old and he may retire in a couple of years at the most. Sanju Samson has wasted whatever opportunities given to him and has now resorted to bullying using his rabid fan army. KL Rahul is another option, but he doesn't like to be the keeper when he is playing. Youngsters such as KS Bharat, Upendra Singh Yadav, Mohammed Azharuddeen and Anuj Rawat are not being given any opportunities.
India also has Parthiv Patel & Ishan Kishan. Both are also good openers as well as middle order batters. They both are much younger and can also replace Panth. We have already seen he has been replaced by Ishan Kishan in the upcoming bilateral series with Srilanka. Selectors have multiple options available at the moment.

Taliban regime in Afghanistan has made their first big decision regarding cricket. Afghanistan will play their home matches in the United Arab Emirates from 2023 onwards. Previously India used to host their home matches (first the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, and then Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow). Emirates Cricket Board and the Afghanistan Cricket Board signed the deal earlier this month. And this is a big blow to the BCCI, who invested heavily on Afghanistan while ignoring other neighboring nations such as Nepal and Bhutan.
Nepal and Bhutan doesn't have star players like Afghanistan has and that was the reason why BCCI agreed in holding home matches for Afghanistan as it will help them in getting those television views and crowd in the stadium in turn it will increase earnings for both boards. Good that Afghanistan cricket board shifted to UAE. This shows that Taliban is not being controlled by India and also BCCI is not the supreme power in international cricket. BCCI invested in Afghanistan because they were making money from those matches. Considering the revenue BCCI is generating every year such investment are considered peanuts.

Australia need 6 wickets to win and South Africa need 266 more runs just to make Australia bat again. This time South African playing XI contained two quota batsmen - Khaya Zondo and Temba Bavuma, and this added a lot of pressure on others. From what I have seen, quota bowlers are being able to maintain the quality somewhat. But quota batsmen are a few levels below the merit batsmen. Anyway, I don't expect any rethink from the South African management, as they want to extend quota to cover 7 places in the playing XI from 2023.
A complete waste of time. This series has been dominated by the Australian side and most probably they will win this match and win the series. South Africa is looking helpless against the Australian bowling attack. The top and the middle order is in shambles. Niether thier bowlers are looking good against the Australian batting line-up. 258 runs still needed by SA and they have already lost 4 wickets. Nothing left to watch unless they form a good partnership which is highly unlikely at the moment.

Pant getting dropped from the T-20 is a good move, he's an underachiever or disappointing in T-20 considering his good form in ODI and tests. ATM he's going back to NCA for his Knee strength training.

I never liked this guy but he is a kind of player who can create a havoc on the opponent side. Getting dropped was inevitable and as you said earlier he would not get dropped from the test but when someone gets dropped from two formats he is destined to get dropped
I doubt if any sane selector is going to drop him from the Tests because in his short test career he already played many match winning/saving innings and IMO in red ball cricket he's already become the most successful WK batsman for India. For some context, Dhoni has 6 test tons in 90 odd test matches and Pant has 6 100s in just 33 matches (should have been 11 cause 6 times he got out in 90s ) and a majority of 100s came in SENA countries.

Agreed, the next t-20 WC is scheduled in 2024 so by that time Kohli and Sharma ji are going to be 36 and 37yo respectively so ideally the process of team transition should start right now and if selectors are considering this solution then prop to them.

It was evident when these guys were playing the T20WC. Judging them based on the Pakistan game doesn't mean they can be a part of the T20 format. A big decision in my opinion by BCCI and I feel this decision might affect those players in the next IPL auction.

KL Rahul is tricky, atm there is no clear info that he was dropped or rested in T-20. Also, he's getting married soon and requested personal leaves. I hope Rohit stay fit for BGT otherwise KLol will find entry into the test team.

K L Rahul is not a super hero, he is eventually a player who has unfortunately lost his touch as a batter after the injury. I was astonished to see him still as a captain or vice after T20
He needs to go back to Ranji and start working.

Kiwis looking good at the moment. It seems they will be able to chase 438 runs, they are short by 235 runs and have only lost 1 wicket. Karachi wicket is just like a flat road, not at all helpfull for the bowlers. I hate when such pitches are created for a test match. Pakistan did the same when they hosted England earlier and the result was not in favour of them. This match in my opinion is going the same Highway.

We have different administration in PCB now but same pitch condition. Rawalpindi pitch has already got 2 demerits point and is heading towards ban, I guess same will happen with karachi pitch. NZ are 115 runs behind Pakistan, Devon Conway was unlukcy to miss his hundred by 8 runs. Nothing much to discuss about Pakistan bowling as its not bowlers fault to bowl on such highway.
The way Kiwis have batted today shows how flat this pitch is for batters. It's day 3 and the pitch is becoming more friendly for batters. Looking at the situation I think this match might end up in draw. It won't be that easy for NZ bowlers to take wickets on this pitch. A score of 400+ is achievable it seems and if NZ wants to win the need the same amount of runs as lead which can be achieved on the fourth day but then they will have only a single day to wipe out Pakistani batters which I think is not possible on this pitch.

Good decision by the selectors to remove Kholi, Rahul and Rohit from the T20 squad. KL Rahul should now be able to focus on his batting if not then he might get dropped from all format of cricket. I hope the vice captain responsibility does not affect SKY's batting. Big responsibility give to Hardik as he is the capitan and vice captain in both the format. Sanju Samson is in the squad but will he be part of 11 is still not certain. Strange Risha Panth dropped in both format in this bilateral series.

Australia lost 6 wickets, scored 420 runs but the lead is only 200+ runs. Green is also retired hurt, hopefully he will come back when required. If they want to win this match Australia needs a lead of 300+ runs and I am hoping they will be able to get those. It is only day 3 plenty of cricket still left in this game. A great come back for Warner sadly he could not continue after scoring 200 runs.

Pakistan after having an impressive day yesterday is now again struggling on their homeground. Babar Azam was the only reason why they were able to score 350+ runs and now after he got out they have lost 6 wickets and are unable to score runs. Overall I am certain they would be able to reach to 400 runs which in my opinion is good score and it wouldn't be easy for Kiwi batter to chase those runs.

Jofra Archer is a right-arm fast bowler. And we know that fast bowlers are generally more prone to injury. Winning in cricket is unpredictable similarly injuries also happen suddenly. At the moment i think he is fully recovered his injury and now he can be regular in cricket. By using him only in T20 format, England team can get good output. He should be kept away from ODI and Test matches for few days ‍so that he can adopt early in all the formats in cricket.

Some of the fast bowlers are more prone to injury. In India we have Jasprit Bumrah and T Natarajan who get injured at least once every year. Dale Steyn, one of the best fast bowlers in the history of cricket had his career cut short as a result of injury. On the other hand, we have bowlers such as James Anderson and Peter Siddle, who almost never gets injured. It depends a lot on the bowling action. Archer and Bumrah should seriously consider changing their bowling action, to prevent further injuries. But then, they need to maintain the pace as well.

It is not that easy for a bowler to suddenly change his action. What they can do is reduce their pace and play less cricket than they are playing now. Muscle injuries are quite common with bowlers and that is why they have less career span than batters. I am still not certain whether Archer will be able to bowl in the same manner as he used to prior to his injury. Recently we had seen Shaheen Afridi struggling with his bowling after his come back from injury. If he recovers fully before the bilateral series he still would struggle in few matches and then might come to his original form.
