1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: July 23, 2023, 10:08:12 AM
Both are equally risky, but gambling is riskier because we can feel the pleasure of gambling, making us forget to control our gambling. And in the end, we only know that it turns out that we have lost all the money with nothing left. The risk of future trading is also the risk of making our money disappear, especially if we don't use the stop loss feature and choose Cross mode, which will use all of our balance to trade. But if you use Isolated mode, you will not lose all the money.
That is very clear and simple, all fields will have their own risks, and the two fields referred to here are gambling and trading in my opinion both have a very similar risk impact where psychological and mental will be the main targets that someone can feel. As for gambling, I agree with you that the level of risk in it is very high if you are too excessive in it. The self-control factor is very important in both areas, but there is indeed a slight difference in that the self-control factor in trading as you mentioned, requires one to have risk management, including stopping loss, take profit, maintaining psychological calm and other management to prevent us from what is called MC. Furthermore, in gambling, there is no risk management as I mentioned above, but from a psychological point of view, it is still very much needed here, where control in gambling is only needed when you experience defeat.
Agree that both are risky but I still think luck gambling results cannot be controlled but futures trading to an extent can be controlled. If you do the proper research and analyze the data you can predict the outcome. It is somewhat like sports betting, although the outcome will be always in your favour is not guaranteed. Whereas luck gambling is completely controlled by the house.
1202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Belief on: July 23, 2023, 09:56:15 AM
I won't say it is the believe of winning that drives a gambler. I would say it is the hope of making a win that makes the continue with gambling. To an extent this hope is the reason why most get addicted to gambling. They are also superstitious and would tend to avoid anything that they think was the reason for thier loss last time. I feel that basically is just a paranoia that slowly takes over thier mind.

Of course, in any country, every parent will definitely monitor and track the activities of their children, but unfortunately there are still many parents who don't really pay attention to what their children are doing, so many underage children have entered and tried to gamble.
If the gambling habit has been left on, it is very likely that in the next few years they will lose their way in life because they have become a gambling addict.
The development of the era cannot be the main reason why many children are getting to know gambling because the biggest mistake lies in parents who are negligent in supervision.
If a parent is unable to track the activity of children then I don't think they need to be called a parent. It is better that the government takes the custody of the children and let the so called parents enjoy thier life. These parents are those who became parent accidentally otherwise why won't they keep a track of their children. Whatever happens a parents primary responsibility is the children.

You still can save 1.5 lac by showing investment under the section 80c. Then you also have the option to avail home loan and save tax on the interest paid on the home loan. Buying an electric vehicle can also save you tax now days. People who make that kind of money do know various ways to save tax.

If you are salaried class then income tax is taken care by the company. If you are not then you would need to file it yourselves.
1206  Local / India / Re: how to buy crypto in a wallet with cheapest fee on: July 21, 2023, 09:34:37 AM
Your best bet would be is to finding someone from this sub-board who is willing to compromise their anonymity and receive INR through their UPI ID and thereby sending you BTC/any crypto in return. As of now, @pawanjain is the only candidate willing to go ahead with this since their thread pointed out to a possible solution to this specific issue but other than that I can't find someone who is trusted enough.

I do not think he will agree as OP is some what new to the forum. In all case if he agrees then he won't be looking for small transaction. I am not sure what amount of INR purchase of cryptocurrency is OP looking for but it should be a big amount as small amount of P2P purchase will not help the selling party. OP should send a DM to pawanjain to check whether he would be intrested in a trade.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 20, 2023, 09:40:41 AM
Honestly it all comes down to parenting.  Here in the United States if you've got strict parents that heavily monitor your online activity, then it's highly unlikely that children are going to be able to make it possible for themselves to gamble online.  I know when I was a kid my parents would have never let me, they guarded the PC well.

That said if kids have parents that don't care, it's probably going to be pretty easy to get online and gamble.  Parents are the key.

Not only in the US but in every country parents who can keep a track of thier child's activities would always prevent them from getting into any kind of addiction. I have also seen those parents who generally do not reveal thier addiction to thier children in a way safeguard a child's social behaviour against addiction. Still, in today's technology era it is not possible to always track your child's online activities. Before you get your self accoustomed to a new tech your child would be aware of countering it.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 20, 2023, 09:33:33 AM
Well, have anyone done the math?

Let's say you gamble $300 per day (yea, I know most people do not have that money) and you played every day for say 20 years... and then suddenly you win the Jackpot of say $2 000 000.  Roll Eyes

So... over 20 years you gambled away $2 190 000 to eventually win $2 000 000. (Remember... you win and lose, but you kept on gambling, so you lost whatever you won too)

Yes, it was a time killer and entertainment for some people.... but the more you play, the more you lose and the losses added up, eats into your big jackpot some day in the future.  Roll Eyes
You sound very optimistic it seems with your calculation. Your dream of making it big I hope comes true after 20 years. By the way 20 years is a big time and in today's unpredictable & uncertain world no one can guarantee what will happen next day. Gambling cannot be a way of life, it can be a choice of entertainment. Anyways your sarcastic calculation needed a sarcastic 😜 serious reply.
1209  Other / Meta / Re: Lol. Has this ever happened to you? Merit sent again after refreshing. on: July 20, 2023, 08:31:12 AM
I haven't encountered such a situation. It does look kind of weird and confusing if it had happened with me. I generally decide on the amount of merit and send it and go back to the topic. What I have experienced is that the merit takes few seconds to get reflected on the receiver profile. Other than that everything has been working fine.
1210  Local / India / Re: List of Indian crypto Tax Calculator and Filer. on: July 20, 2023, 03:35:44 AM
I have used Tax nodes and Binocs for calculation & filing. The reason behind using both is simple, Binocs allow 500 transaction free calculation whereas Tax node for only 100 transaction. Binocs doesn't provide filing service whereas Tax node does provide filing service. Tax node is offering good discount on filing at the moment, not sure whether it will offer those discounts next month.

The last date for ITR filing is 31st of July which might get extended. Don't wait for the extension, if you haven't filed your returns please do it otherwise you might receive a love letter from Income tax department.  Grin

1212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Presidential candidate announces plan to back the US dollar with Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 07:59:44 AM
Just for a better and more accurate headline, this is what he actually said: "My plan would be to start very, very small, perhaps 1% of issued T-bills would be backed by hard currency, by gold, silver platinum or bitcoin".

Great news nonetheless, but it's probably getting overblown.

Any news on Bitcoin always gets hype and if a presidential candidate is constantly discussing Bitcoin then it will get overblown. As of now, he is just a candidate, who wants to win the election, and therefore such statements are coming out of his mind. In all cases, if he wins, I doubt he will ever implement what he planned and what he has spoken in the past about Bitcoin.
1213  Economy / Gambling / Re: How much time for a Duelbits withdrawal? Been 24h+ on: July 19, 2023, 07:36:57 AM
As per Duelbit:
Quote
For withdrawals, Duelbits sends them instantly unless they are flagged for manual review by our regulatory requirements. Withdrawals that are flagged for manual review are typically reviewed within 1 hour but may take up to 12 hours.

Did you contact support? If not then contact them to find out why it is taking so much time. I feel your withdrawal has been flagged as the winning amount is big.
1214  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: July 19, 2023, 07:32:07 AM

For now those criminals can escape on the crimes they commit especially when they didn't disclose their identities and use some existing methods to hide the track of their crimes. This is why Kyc together with other requirements imposed on casino also with the other financial platforms so that they will not be used on money laundering scheme and if they got used they can easily track the identity of the criminals. Money laundering still happen in crypto space since those criminals still see that that crypto still a good instrument for them to easily get rich.

They are criminals and they know how to work around KYC norms and I am pretty sure they might have already discovered a loophole. Money laundering is a global issue and it becomes especially threatening when the money laundered is used for terrorist activities. With cryptocurrency which is privacy focused it is not easy to track the money and through the mixer, you can also make Bitcoin untraceable. If the government was so successful in tracing they would not have stopped both fiat and crypto money laundering by now.
1215  Local / India / Re: What do you think about Cardano? on: July 18, 2023, 06:51:45 AM
XRP coming back to the 4th position, destroying BNB and SOL getting above ADA. Just checked it on CMC after reading your reply. I do not want to say this but do you think SOL will be able to hold its position? There are better projects than SOL & ADA on that list. Recently I was going through the whitepaper of ALGO and I found it to be very easy to understand. I think most of us have not even looked into it. I do believe that in some time like 5 years, this project might be in the top 10 on CMC. What do you think about this project?
XRP coming back is still questionable as the SEC can still go back to the higher court. SOL is actually doing pretty good regardless of its past. I won't be able to comment whether it can hold is ranking but it did surpass ADA. Algorand is a good project but it lacks trust as it is still being worked on and it is a new project compared to the others we are discussing here. It has the potential but we need to wait and watch before coming into any conclusion.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 18, 2023, 06:46:07 AM
We do have spare money but that money is also for our use. It is true that we use the money that we need to make our ends meet. We generally are unable to allocate some funds for gambling. This is why gambler have more debt than non gamblers and if we are unable to control our addiction then that debt spirals up. Eventually leading to all bad things the world can offer. That is why it is better to gamble resposibly otherwise things will trun from bad to worst.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 18, 2023, 06:43:07 AM
Mine was actually cool and I won on virtuals on my first attempt to play... let's draw the clock to the times I was enclosed in a brick house....I actually ran in for a gambler though, and It came right through.
Thereafter, I began to try some brilliant combos on my own funds when I really had free space,.. I've not really had a bad one but though, buh I've been in situations where peeps be begging for cash to pay Thier way home after squandering all they had on them...that alone thought me alot. I also paid severally for damages when a customer was found not capable of paying for his debts.

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Mine was a total disaster lost $50 on the first day while playing dice. You might be one of those lucky won who won the first day. After my intial loss it took me sometime to realize that I suck in luck base gambling. I then shifted to sports betting, it was not that easy at first but gradually it is working fine for me as of now. I still stay away from gambling that is completely luck based.
1218  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaigns on: July 18, 2023, 05:35:54 AM
The forum has a big gambling community and since the forum no longer accepts advertisement these casinos use signature campaigns to promote their platform. In a way it is cheaper than advertisement on other platforms as they already have their target audience active here. On other platforms they need to spend money regardless of their ads reaching the target audience.
1219  Local / India / Re: Government has found another way to boost its Revenue from Tax on: July 18, 2023, 03:04:31 AM
Honestly this is madness, I was going through the tax structure for this niche and found out the full details.

1. 28% GST.
2. 10% platform fee
3. 30% TDS.

So, if someone wins INR 100, they would first pay INR 28 then INR 10 and then INR 30. Out of 100 rupees a user is left with 32 rupees. They as in the government has destroyed online gaming industry. Meanwhile the Blockchain gaming industry is going to $65 BN big by 2027.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: July 17, 2023, 06:36:13 AM
For the rich and wealthy, gambling could easily be something done out of fun or leisure but, when it comes to people who see it for a means of earning there daily bread, it easily feels like an only chance or means to a survival.
Sorry if I didn't get this right, but are you suggesting that reach people are more immune for addiction? If my interpretation is right then I have to disagree with what you said. I don't have exact numbers but I believe it's actually the opposite which is right. Wealthy people are more prone to all kinds of addiction not only gambling addiction. They spend more time playing because they can afford to do so which makes them subject to addiction and they won't realize it till they start running out of money.
Rich people mostly get into addiction as a result of experimenting each and everything available for enjoyment. They never think about money and that's the reason for their addiction. Rich people have a winning mindset which is also a reason why rich people get addicted easily. The good money they hold doesn't let their life get hurt, but with the common man it is something hard as he doesn't have much to spend.
I have to disagree with you guys on Rich people getting addicted. Those who are rich don't have the time to get addicted in any other thing than money. They spend literally several hours only to mint money and buy lesiure with that money. They won't spend their time & money in gambling. Only people like us spend money on gambling, we start with the believe that we will double our money and what happens next is known by everyone.

That is partly true in the sense that most rich people do not have the need to gamble and when they do they know what they are doing and most of the times do not get addicted. However there are certain rich people who may fall in love with gambling and then we all know that they ruin their fortune through gambling, this type of people is far less than the ones who know what they are doing but they exist too and when this type of people become addicted it is a very very bad situation for them, they end up losing everything in gambling.
Let's assume a Rich guy gets addicted to gambling. He wont remain rich anymore as he would spend his time & money in gambling. It is hard for me to digest this situation as when he is already gambling everyday with his business to make it more profitable, why would he even gamble in a casino. I don't see any point with your reasoning. Rich people don't gamble with thier money they make us gamble to become rich.
