watching. any idea on a IPO date?

IPO would happen once the equipment arrives. I will also update the OP with this info.

Let's say, hypothetically, that I had this "friend."  Let's say this hypothetical friend had super powers much like a theoretical rainman-style, although mute, kid on a possibly terrible new Fox action-drama staring a one-style-fits-all actor, who coincidentally has a fellow actor father that possesses acting chops that far surpass his own with a last name of Sutherland.

So, hypothetically remember, this mute kid might leave an etch-a-sketch laying around with the words, "16 boards, vertical orientation, in a 10"x24" area."

All that trouble to describe a diagram. I would like to give nedbert9 an award, but I'm still trying to figure out which one is most appropriate.
2163  Economy / Services / [GLBSE] Feedback wanted: Gigamining, the first 5Mh/s mining bond on: March 26, 2012, 06:33:23 PM
 :)Hello fellow bitcoiners,

Off the back of the glbse 2.0 release and with a soon to be influx of mining equipment, I would like to get the communities thoughts on an idea I have been keeping in my back pocket until now.

Introduction:
Mining assets are becoming extremely common on the GLBSE. We have companies that offer ownership of hardware, bonds that correlate to actual hash rate. But overall nothing too exciting, too large, or too profitable.

Until now.
Introducing Gigamining Bonds!

The first bond to offer more than 1 MHash/s per bond, and run by a name you know has the hashes to back it up.

Summary:
There will be a total of 10,000 (50Gh!!!!!) bonds issued, with each bond worth a massive 5 MHash/s.

During the initial offering, they will be sold for a cheap ?? (give me your feedback). All maintenance free.

Each bond will pay 100% of PPS earnings every 7 days.

The bond never expire.

I reserve the option to repurchase bonds at 105% of the highest traded price over the last 15 days.

About Me
Most of you know who I am, most of you know I have the ability to deliver this kind of power. I'm not going anywhere any time soon, so trust that your coin is safe, and doing its best work for you, here. If you have any questions, ask them in the thread.

Where is 50Gh going to come from?
- I currently run 33Gh in GPUs (undervolted and underclocked to 26Gh for the summer)
- I also run 11 Butterfly Labs singles @ 9Gh
- Soon 4 mini rig boxes will arrive with a total of 100Gh of mining capacity.

I feel this is an exciting opportunity to be able to make such a compelling offer on the glbse. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback, so post a reply and lets get the conversation started.

Best,
gigavps

Q/A

Q: What's the price of each bond?
A: This is something I want to hear your feedback on. What do you think?

Q: When would the inital offering happen?
A: Vbs has proposed that the initial offering happens before the equipment arrives. What do you think?

Q: Who's the hottie in your profile pic?
A: That's my wife.  Grin
2164  Economy / Lending / Re: 420 BTC loan - 15% interest on: March 26, 2012, 05:36:57 PM
What do you need the loan for?  How will you get the BTC to pay back the lender(s).  What do you have for collateral?  What is your business plan?

+1

Someone really should break one of his legs and tell him to get a f'n job and stop scamming and start paying.

Silverbox, if you would like to start a thread about breaking people's legs, fine, please just keep this shit out of my thread.

I have no problems with you posting your point of view, but please do not suggest issues around money are worth harming other people.

Dual relays are pretty much useless for anyone with a farm.  I have 8 going on 12 rigs.  giga has 32 rigs.

I have 18 rigs (*starts dreaming about 32 rigs for a second). 3 per 208v 20amp circuit. 6 take care of the GPU rigs and the computer running the singles. The other 2 are for, well, more BFL equipment.

How's this project going?

My prototype is working.  I will share some pics tonight.  I have been busy working on watercooling stuff.  The code used to drive the prototype is ugly.  I am still debating if I will commercialize it.  On one hand it likely will be a lot of work with low margins.  On the other hand if enough units are sold that will likely create the demand for third party applications to provide
support which helps me.

I'll post the photos and see what kind of feedback I get.

What is this going to cost to make it worth your while?

To put this another way, I see two routes to getting remote power cycling.

Option #1 -> http://pdusdirect.com/power-distribution-units/switched/pdu-cw-8h2-c20m
Options #2 -> D&T having mercy on me with a reasonable price that he can still make good money on

With option #1, I would need at least 8.

Do you know the real identity of the Shakaru? his contact information, the name and contacts of his friends and family? If so, lots of people will be interested.

You can check a couple of posts up, there is a link to a collections thread for Andrew. If you would like to contact him, feel free.

So back to the topic at hand.  Wink

Is anyone interested is purchasing this debt?
2171  Economy / Services / Re: Shades Minoco / Shakaru / Collections / Debt on: March 25, 2012, 05:15:59 PM
I can confirm that I received a payment for $114 by Shakaru on Feb. 10. I guess this was still two weeks before this thread was started.
2172  Economy / Services / Re: Shades Minoco / Shakaru / Collections / Debt on: March 25, 2012, 04:40:28 PM
Hello all,

I am mrbashfo and was wondering if andrew (shakaru) has told any of you what kind of hardware i ran off with? I had an interesting little chat through pm's with a member who shakaru owed money to. I paid shakaru back what i owed him and i am surprised that none at all went back into repayment. if i knew i would have just sent everyone who he owes some money.

Can you please elaborate with dates, amounts, etc?
2173  Economy / Services / Re: [Debt Sale] Selling 52.41 BTC debt for 20 BTC on: March 25, 2012, 02:23:31 PM
What's the catch? What are the chances of getting this debt?

Their is a collections thread and Shakaru is cooperating. I do not want to speculate on whether the debt will be paid back or not. My main reason for selling is that I have other needs for the coins and I would like to move on from this.

2174  Economy / Services / [Debt Sale] Selling 52.41 BTC debt for 15 BTC on: March 25, 2012, 01:45:02 PM
Hello Fellow Bitcoiners,

I would like to offer the debt of Shakaru (Andrew) owe to me. He's owe's a total of ~67 BTC of which I said I would forgive the interest on (~15 BTC). So, you would be buying a 52.41 BTC Debt for 20 BTC.

This debt was due to a loan made to Shakaru for 100 BTC after the Astana ordeal.

Best,
gigavps

Edit: I have lowered the price to 15 BTC.

@Freeway you have an interesting post history.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=51428;sa=showPosts

How d I get a hold of you.  I have very important, sensitive info on one of the miners tht is currently scamming bitcoin members.  Not only is he taking bitcoin members money, he is also scamming his roommates and his girlfriend.  It took me a month to figure it out, but I now know, he has not fulfilled any contracts since August of 2011, except for 1 partail.  A $35 bitcoin payment.  Amount still due over $100.  He took all of the rent money from his roommates and spent it at the bar. He used my debit card fraudenly to pay for the internet service.  And he told you guys he has a setup at home to generate coins.  He does not.  He sold/gave away the equipment so he has money for the bar.  He took my daughters rent, and utiilty money for I dont know what.He is screwed.  He does not have  working computer nor a place to even work.  I need help.  He owes my daughter over $2,000 in rent, $200 IN utilitiesand he owes 2 personal friends over $300 in bit coin shares.  Can anyone say "Shades Minaco"?.

I have photo copies of the drivers license, a copy of the lease agreemeent, and him and his girlfriend if anyone is interested

@Shakaru is Freeway discussing you here?
2176  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 3 5970s with 1 flaky GPU each on: March 25, 2012, 10:08:15 AM
good luck

Actually, these are already sold and in the hands of the buyer.

Thanks though.
2177  Economy / Services / Re: Shades Minoco / Shakaru / Collections / Debt on: March 25, 2012, 12:39:33 AM
Where is shakaru to respond to this. I thought the plan was to repay debt, not go further into debt.  Undecided

He will go further into debt.  And he will not pay anyone.  Talk to maged about my pm, then pm me for more info

@Freeway If you have relevant information to the thread, please share it with all of us. No reason being obtuse.

@shakaru If Freeway knows something that the rest of us should know, you might as well come out with it.
2178  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mini-Rig from Butterflylabs on: March 24, 2012, 06:50:43 PM
Thats assuming you already have a way to get an $8750 return on your $15,000's over the next 4 months. Those kinds of returns are very few and associated with their own risks no doubt.

$15K in GPUs? Smiley

Surely no one is saying that they can get 25Gh of GPUs for $15k nor are they saying that they can have them up and running in a week, possibly even a month. From my own personal experience, it took more than 8 weeks to go from 5Gh to around 30Gh. And there are a lot of bumps in the road.

- waiting for newegg.com to get your packages to you because they don't deliver on Saturdays
- waiting for misc parts (powered risers, Dual GPU plugs, etc) that you happened to forget
- waiting on the electrician to get those 240v circuits you now need because you are pulling to many Kw
- figuring out (and spending money on) getting all of that heat out of the space all these GPUs are running in
- testing GPUs to get the max Mh/s out of them without dying every hour.
- all the other stuff with operating system, mining software, USB keys failing

You would need to either have free data center space available at a drop of the hat or already have a pretty serious farm running (therefore already knowing where you fucked up the first time) to be able to get 25Gh up and running "quickly". Even then, it is not an easy task.

My point is, to wait 8 weeks for two rig boxes does not bother me in the least because I am not delusional enough to think that BFL should be perfect or that it's a cake walk to get more GPUs running.
2179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Butterfly Labs - Bitforce Single and Rig Box on: March 24, 2012, 05:59:23 PM
This one I have cost $199 for Gold? and 1200 watts. Same realm I think. This CoolMax had very good ratings. Who knows. Maybe when I cut the cables to length I'll see the savings. I was expecting something like a 100 watt savings though.

Well, 100w * 745h = 74.5Kw/h

At $0.07104 ($5.29 per month) I am not doing this for the power savings. It really to keep the install clean as (if you haven't noticed) I'm kind of OCD. Smiley

2180  Other / Off-topic / Re: Butterfly Labs - Bitforce Single and Rig Box on: March 24, 2012, 05:47:40 PM
Yeah 6ft is way too long for that kind of current.  If you want 6ft cables then they should be 16 (or even better 14) gauge wire.   Also I wish you had a better PSU.  Even with 30W or so lost due to excessive wiring the efficiency seems very low for 80Plus-Gold unit.  You don't by any chance have any xfx, seasonics, antecs or other tier 1 supplier PSU lying around do you?

I don't have any other PSU's. I am considering returning this one and getting a better one but its at least $130 more for a platinum 97?% efficient one. I just don't see it paying off in a reasonable amount of time ($330+ invested). If the replacement PSU had 16 gauge or better wiring it would be VERY tempting though. I'm on the fence with this one.

The advantage seems to be having one power supply for all and that its likely more reliable than the power bricks. One of my bricks has already turned itself into a "brick". BFL sent a replacement out right away but I decided at that time to go ahead and put this PSU together. Didn't like one single just sitting there doing nothing. Smiley

I purchased this PSU for my singles.
