2161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Improve Your Sports Betting Skills and Win More Bets? on: June 15, 2023, 08:32:20 PM
Number 3 isn't really a requirement. You just have to have a working knowledge of who's who in the sport, and then just complement what you know with research and analysis and you're fine. IMO, being too knowledgeable with a certain sport tends to make one overthink things and affect a lot in the decision-making and analysis process, especially if you really want to get that win for yourself. I mean, who doesn't want to have a win anyway?

The rest of these are okay and equally important, though not a lot are really doing the comparison between different platforms to check the best odds before locking a bet. Also, it's not really something that you can do to 'win' more bets. You win more money per bet, though, by getting the one with the highest odds.
2162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 15, 2023, 06:00:50 PM
The Chicago Bulls are not expecting Lonzo Ball to be back again, third knee surgery, that's something the management doesn't like.

There's no team that likes it when a player can't play for an extended period of time because of injuries. I recently heard the news that Lonzo might miss most of next season because of this surgery, and that's too bad because the Bulls' management will run out of patience sooner or later. Honestly, Lonzo reminds me of guys like Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, who had good potential but were forced to end their NBA careers too early.

Teams that have core players on the bench for an extended period of time are really not happy with it. Imagine losing someone temporarily that is centered to some strategies and fail-safe? That's a bummer. There might be some second option and backups for sure, but tactics will never be the same for a team that depends on this core player. The Bulls might even reconsider letting Lonzo go if his absence goes on for more time. Also, third knee surgery? That's rough. It will surely affect the way he plays and it's a new adjustment that the Bulls will have to work with and that's not really positive as time goes on for the Bulls.
2163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: June 15, 2023, 07:45:02 AM
Correct me if I am wrong

I am not a football fan and any form of prediction is still a gamble to me, but I have gamble on few different online casinos and I believe that gamblers on casinos gambles with the casino games, meaning it's between the gambler and the casino, but with football it is different, your bet is on the performance of a soccer team and the gambling platform will only win your money if your football team loses, right?

This makes it more cleaner to me, there will be no tampering of the system or fine tunning their games to make gamblers loses more than they win.

Can anyone confirm if this is right? Or wrong.
This is correct. This is why I mainly bet on sports. The casino you play on doesn’t have any say on the outcome of the game. On other games (slots especially, but also sometimes live games) you might get cheated.
There must be another reason on why you choose sports betting more than the casino games. Could be that you are an absolute fan on that Sport your betting with. It also helps you decide better if which teams are possibly going to win and which aren't. I'm not sure if you and the OP already knows the fact that cheating can also happen in Sports Betting.

Yes, you heard it right but there is no involvement of the platform rather it's the teams who are intentionally losing their game because they are being paid. This is popularly termed as Match-Fixing. Though I think it rarely happens on major leagues. As for the casino games. I believe legit casinos are truly fair. It's only in our head that we are being cheated but it's only normal to lose more often on casino games because of the House Edge and they are high. The game also works randomly so no skills can be applied here, making the game more difficult for us to win.

It’s only your belief that there is no cheating happening in casino games (especially online ++++). That’s why I only play in landbased casinos with real cash.

I like betting on soccer because I like the game that’s true, and I know that cheating can occur and everything you would be talking about, but I can still win if I’m on the right side so that doesn’t change much. On the other hand, in casino games, I’d be specifically targeted by the casino and there is no way to know if I’m being cheated or not.

I'm fairly confident that online casinos who have built their reputation and are generally considered the most trusted ones would not dare cheat their customers in broad daylight. Perhaps they would make ithard for the winners to claim huge prizes, but cheating? There probably are a lot of auditors and reviewers playing on these platforms at a given time, and if they, the online casino, got caught doing fishy things, there'd be evidence and people will lose trust on them.

Huge platforms would not risk it for pennies. They'd hinder the huge wins from getting claimed, but I don't think they would prevent small winners from getting lucky because that's how they build their reputation.
2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 14, 2023, 11:59:49 PM
Individuals who are addicted to gambling or have a gambling problem are like that because they see gambling as one of the ways to make money. To turn $100 to $1000. This is the underlying cause. When you compare the people are are addicted to gambling and those who are not, you will find out that the later have a different perspective about gambling. To quit gambling you need a change of perspective. Start following financial gurus, start reading their books. That way you will be able to turn $100 to $1000 and then to $10000. It is as simple as that. Like they have said, what you focus on grows.
I don't know but I believed without proper hard work its going to be very hard to turn a 100$ buck to a thousands by just reading books of gurus and most definitely not an expectations from winning big in gambling. Gambling is an habit that should be enjoyed by placing bet on your favourite team or events just for pleasure purpose and nothing else.

Add to that luck that is also a very huge deciding factor on your streak in gambling that can make or break your profit. It's a very tricky element of gambling that not everyone will ever have at a given time. Even if you have all the strategies at your disposal, you will still need luck to get through and win something that is worth your time and your effort.

If you're looking to gamble, just don't expect to always win. Have fun and maybe that's it.
2165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 14, 2023, 08:24:42 PM
while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.
And as long as I know that with VPNs, tor browsers and other ways of Masking my footprint will keep my identity unknown, am not giving up on crypto because of a government ban, besides...I  the govt is protecting their interests in fiat and am protecting my financial freedom that exists digitally.

You still have to be weary, though. There are casinos that do not explicitly state their rules on VPN and the use of such tools to mask your IP and stuff, but they'll ban or restrict your account the moment they find out about it. There are still multiple points of possible failures on your plan even though you have masked your identity online.  Better be safe about it still and not get swayed by the guise offered by VPN services. Choose your platform that are lenient to such services and you'll be fine.

Impressive win for Ferrari at le Mans.
After 50 years they went here and in the 1st race, they won.

It could even be a 1-2 for them but the second car got a problem with debris.

The monopoly of Toyota has been closed

It is great to see Ferrari win Le Mans again after so many years,it took exactly 50 years for them to get to win this prestigious race.Toyota is still the one to beat though, they can't win every single race but I am sure they will be back again, rarely the Japanese fail in Motorsport,we have seen Honda that is powering Redbull and being ahead of every other engine producer,so the Japanese are tough to beat and when you beat them it gives you a feeling of glory,a well deserved glory for Ferrari after so many years without Le Mans glory and Ferrari is a maker of legendary cars so when they win this prestigious race it is even better for their brand.

I never thought Ferrari will snatch the title from Toyota. Those guys at Toyota Gazoo Racing know how to handle their cars well and how to tune their cars for this endurance race. Ferrari did a great job this year, and I'm looking forward to them staying at this level for the next 24-hour race, though we all know that the Japs will surely come back from this and try to get the next title. It's true that the Japanese are excelling in automotive sports lately, specially on the manufacturer side of things. The Westerners can come close, though not surpass Japanese tuning.
2167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There are many advantages to the relationship between gambling and Bitcoin. on: June 12, 2023, 11:34:50 PM
There are many advantages to the relationship between gambling and Bitcoin. Firstly, Bitcoin provides a secure and decentralized way to gamble online, which is attractive to many gamblers who value their privacy and security. Transactions are processed quickly and can be completed without third-party intermediaries, making it a popular choice for online gambling sites.

Another advantage of using Bitcoin for gambling is that it allows for more anonymity than traditional payment methods. This can be especially important for gamblers who wish to keep their gambling activities private.

Furthermore, Bitcoin transactions are often cheaper and faster than traditional banking methods, which can save gamblers money and time.

Many online casinos and sports betting sites now offer exclusive bonuses and promotions for Bitcoin users, which can provide gamblers with extra incentives to use Bitcoin for their online gambling activities.

Can you tell us another advantage of opening an account in a Bitcoin Sportsbook?

everything you said about the advantages of gambling with bitcoin is true, but I think one thing you are missing is the fee fee. many sportsbook bitcoin gambling sites, withdrawing winnings no matter how much the fee is charged is still the same (although the bitcoin fee is still a little fluctuating)

I am very thankful that bitcoin appeared in this world and I will not use fiat anymore to gamble, I will only use bitcoin to gamble

But what if the bitcoin fee you are charged in withdrawing your own bitcoins cost a lot when converted to fiat? Would you still want to gamble with bitcoin? I would continue doing so if we can adjust the fees from the casino, or if they impose just the lowest fee possible to get the transaction confirmed in the next 5 blocks or so. Most of the crypto casinos existing nowadays impose fees that get your transaction confirmed in the next block, and if you don't really need that fast of a transaction, wouldn't it be best if the player can select how much fee are they paying?
2168  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 12, 2023, 11:14:26 PM
The thing is, it's hard to penetrate the real estate business if you don't have prior experience to it, no money to purchase lands/foreclosed properties, or don't have any connections on the said investment vehicle. Those that I mentioned are the most important things you need to have in order to make money in real estate. This is no longer the 80s or 90s wherein it's fairly easy to acquire a property somewhere and hold on to it. Everything is being gatekept nowadays by land developers and other commercial investors that the average person can no longer get a piece of the action in this asset class.
2169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 12, 2023, 10:51:41 PM
Speaking of DOTA events. Tomorrow is the start of DreamLeague Season 20 in Stockholm, Sweden.

I guess most bitcointalk folks isnt really interested with Dota anymore . Normally we would have plenty of conversations regarding this but it seems abit different as no one really mention about this in this thread

There are still a lot of interest in the Dota scene. It's just that this tournament is treated as a minor and not something big right now. Overall there aren't that many esports league that are happening right now anyway, so it's not just Dota 2 who's receiving the cold treatment.

Anyway, small tips from me if you are betting on this. Draw seems like the best option so far as alot of teams are getting draws since yesterday so goodluck guys  Smiley

Draw is usually the outcome of this best of two games. Also depends on the teams that are playing - if the other one has been performing quite well recently, I might bet on that team though again, that's still a coin toss basically.
2170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 12, 2023, 08:48:27 PM
Gambling provides entertainment and a chance to win something, and humans love to take chances on something to win anything. It's in the human psyche to gamble for better opportunities or things, and so until now despite the financial hardships and all other difficult circumstances, people still gamble. The main driving force nowadays is money, followed closely by entertainment. Apart from that, I don't think there's much more reason as to why people gamble. If there is, it's probably too specific to a few people.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 12, 2023, 08:09:08 PM
It'll be easy to quit gambling if I have a huge amount of money stashed somewhere. That will allow me to do whatever the hell I want and preoccupy myself with something else that is more worthwhile. I'll be able to focus more on my actual hobbies, and spend less time working which will allow me to free up a huge portion of my time and just enjoy life. Gambling is just something that I'm doing to kill time and not feel bored because other hobbies that I'm looking to enter are just too expensive or uneconomical, compared to what I earn and what my time allows.
2172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 12, 2023, 10:49:54 AM
If you are not doing DCA at all, you run the risk of losing the value of your assets every time the price falls. That is why it's important to spread out your buys at different price points just to lower down your entry cost and not get too affected by these price falls.

As for experienced traders and analyst, this forum regularly discusses things on the Speculation sub-forum. Although if you do not find it sufficient, you can still refer to Reddit, Tradingview, or other websites wherein traders and experienced analysts come together to post their predictions and their analyses. There are tons of resources regarding the matter, you just have to know what you're looking for in order to make the most out of it.
2173  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: June 11, 2023, 11:04:41 PM

I agree that casinos wouldn't be thrilled about AI, considering it could potentially give the gambler an unfair edge. But isn't it similar to counting cards, which although frowned upon, isn't technically cheating?

While I share your apprehension, I also believe in the endless potential of AI. If harnessed correctly, who knows? Maybe it could revolutionize the way we gamble!
This AI discussion will not work and no gambling platform will allow the use of bots in their casino that's why artificial intelligence development will sell well to casino clients since it has nothing rhetorically to add to the outcome either for or against the casinos the player and this will result into going in a cycle which is not something most of us will like to try, and even if you managed to win using AI, the casino can still freeze your account on the offence of using the artificial feature in the class of bot.

There are casinos out there that allows the use of bots already, so I'm not sure how 'unfair' would an AI be especially on games that are not really requiring that much skill (dice, roulette, and other luck-based games). Even if it's deployed on games like Blackjack and other card games, there wouldn't be that much of a difference after all - the side of the casino still manages the games and has full control of everything. There may be some restrictions to AIs, but then again it wouldn't be an unfair advantage. It would only be something that's convenient to the player, but not to the point that the player is cheating IMO.
2174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi nakamoto was there that is why BTC come to stay. on: June 11, 2023, 11:01:21 PM
Satoshi only helped realize an idea that has been proposed for decades. He just made things possible for the likes of Wei Dai, Nick Szabo, and countless other cryptographers that put forth ideas on decentralized currencies to coexist with fiat. There isn't any protocol broken, nor any laws bent on the creation of bitcoin. Those things only happened when bitcoin started to have some valuation, and people began to trade it with fiat currency. Those are completely different things.
2175  Economy / Economics / Re: US Advisory on Payment App Risks and Bitcoin’s Position as a Secure Alternative on: June 11, 2023, 10:27:54 PM
I'd stick with non-custodial wallets for myself, and only keep some in the banks. I believe in bitcoin and its ability to store value for a long period of time, though I don't want to lose my footing on fiat currency as well, so I still keep some fiat on banks just in case. It's better to keep those savings in half so when the other one fails, I still have the other one to use and continue building again from there. Even the governments knew that money apps like Venmo and Paypal are at risk of disappearing in a blink of an eye given how they are not recognized as banks hence they cannot really function like one.

It's surprising to see that they recognized bitcoin as more secure alternative in the first place. The US has a long-standing inconsistency in supporting bitcoin, so them mentioning bitcoin in a positive light is nothing new, although somewhat refreshing still.
2176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deciding to save money in Bitcoins for the future of the child on: June 11, 2023, 10:10:04 PM
If ever I were to have a child, I would have a separate bank account for him/her and have another one for bitcoin and crypto. That way, I'm not putting the future of my child at risk just because I believe in something that works now that could possibly not work in the future. As time goes by, it becomes increasingly hard to choose which investments to go for, especially if you have a limited income. But still, it's best to not put all your eggs in one basket just to prevent unexpected things from causing too much damage.
2177  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 5 Advantages of Bitcoin Casinos vs. Traditional Casinos on: June 11, 2023, 09:24:49 PM
    -  If I were to shop now, I would still prefer to play gambling in a Bitcoin casino compared to a traditional casino, because it has many advantages over what we have been used to before.

And it's even safer when it comes to security, in fact, it's far, far away from the accident that can happen if you play gambling online, even if your identity as a player is hidden. Although in traditional, you can only appreciate your playing there more because you can touch and see live the games in traditional gambling.
Both have their own pros and cons, and most of the traditional casinos already have their own online casino where you can gamble safely anywhere just like in crypto. I do prefer to play more on crypto site as they give more promotions and more updates with regards to their games. I just play in casinos with my friend since its more fun if you are being accompanied. If there’s a problem with the casinos you are playing with, better to look for other option.

Local casinos here - even the most known and largest ones - do not have any online platforms of their own. They still rely on word of mouth, as their targets are the socialites and the wealthy guys. So far it's still working, and they are still generating crazy revenues just by existing physically, and are still giving away millions on winners regularly. Well, the perks that I can see on traditional casinos is that they can give out physical tokens, free drinks (and sometimes, meals on regular customers) and that's just about it.
2178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Include The Sport Spogomi In Their Platform on: June 11, 2023, 02:27:32 PM
I would watch the tournament but I wouldn't bet on it. There are just some sports out there that deserves recognition and attention, but not being placed in gambling platforms whatsoever because of the nature of how the teams/competitors can win on the sport. Spogomi promotes positive things around, but I don't see it as something that gamblers and bettors would put their money into.
2179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The role of Bitcoin in eliminating unemployment in our country on: June 11, 2023, 06:21:01 AM
There are some side gigs that you can do for bitcoin, but for the most part, for sure employers would want to pay you with fiat. Then again, bitcoin isn't some sort of magical tool that provides employment opportunities to those who don't have anything to work for. Some freelance opportunities exist, sure, but they are few and far between, and you really need to be skillful in order to land the gig. You can also trade bitcoins if you have the capital to do so and call it your work, but how many underprivileged people get to trade bitcoins anyway?
2180  Economy / Gambling / Re: Profit By Betting on Losing Teams on: June 10, 2023, 07:50:52 PM
The article made sense, although it would be difficult to make it as consistent as possible given that it isn’t always the case for teams and that the team dynamics always changes. If I were OP, I’d just do arbitrage betting, although it would be difficult to perform such since bookies are also on the lookout for such activities. All in all, what OP is saying could work at the right circumstances, although not as consistent to make money off of it in the long run.
