Haha, yeah probably a good call.

bitpop your going down buddy, better talk to the moderator you actually do know, in a hurry.
Yes bitpop, make sure that you send that pm via the forums, unencrypted would be prefered.

I will be purchasing one in a few hours, just waiting for some mined coins to confirm.

Sure would be lovely if the media took this and spread it around (because they have never done that before (Bitcoin is illegal in Thailand and China right?)) again reinforcing the idea that Bitcoin is a "bad" money used for weapons, drugs, and cp. Why not just slug it out via pm?
On the lighter side, what if I flew gmaxwell to a whore house in a country where the age of consent is under 18? (I'm assuming you are talking about sex with minors as in under 18). Pretty sure that $160K would more than make up for any expenses.

Now you got me confused a bit I was just going to post an announcement about a mining application I wrote. Where do you want me to put this? (no kidding) You would be fine in Mining. I'm just trying to determine if Pools are a service, in which case belonging in the Announcements section, or more related to Mining. I supposed the latter, and will move pools to the Mining section. Can we repost listings in both this marketplace and the other? I want BTC but I also accept alt coins.
Yes, you can also accept Bitcoins. If you have a sales thread, no point in not listing one of your payment options.

I'm not too familiar with these miners, but shouldn't 2 cards be giving around 60GH/s instead of 30?
The original boards fell a little short during production at about 20 Ghash per board, so an extra 10 Ghash board was included. I've been told that if you are handy with a soldering iron that you can jump the inactive chips on the 10 Ghash board and get it up to about 20, making the total Ghash 40-45, however I'm unsure of how to do it.

Waiting on the version information before I put an offer in. I'll wait for your response. Very interested in this either way.
Pictures added. I also fired it up to the wall with a killawatt, and it read 41 Watts.

Wouldn't it be (1/6) (1/6) (1/12)
You have a 1 in 6 chance of getting a number on Die 1
and a 1 in 6 chance of getting a number on Die 2
And you have a 1 in 12 chance of getting a number on Die 3
giving you a 0.23% chance of any given combination of getting any one instance. I'm not entirely sure if thats what you are going for, if you are just talking about what your chances of rolling two dice, and the chances of the sum equaling the same number rolled on the 12 sided die, your answer is roughly 1 in 12, as unless you roll a 1 on the 12 sided die, you have a 1 in 12 chance of that number matching the sum of the two six sided dice.
*edit* whoops I was misunderstanding you. If no one has answered this by the time I wake up tomorrow, I'll calculate it.

Ah no, that is exactly what it is. Goat was on the default trust list, because Badbear trusted him, but Goat is off of it at the moment, as he is in the middle of a dispute with gmaxwell (not financial trust based). Goat's feedback is no longer showing as Trusted feedback (by default) so they don't see that additional +1 from Goat if they don't have him added to their own trust.
Truthfully, what other people see as far as your score is completely subjective on how they configure their own trust. I could remove the default trust list from my preferences, and configure it so just about everybody would show up as having 0 trust to me.

I'd guess that someone either removed their feedback for you, or somewhere down the chain, someone who left you feedback is no longer "trusted feedback" and is now "untrusted feedback"
No feedback removed, so it must be the latter - thanks for explaining it. That would be my guess anyway, I'd check your "untrusted feedback" and see if you recall any of those people being on your "trusted feedback"

My Favorite picture is this one, of Pirateat40, Gabe Newell, Goat, and some other people who I know their names, but am drawing a blank.

So is there a distinct place to discuss the pools? You have a few major pools, wemineltc, middlecoin, multipool, hashco.ws and soon to be pool.warz. To me they belong under Alternate cryptocurrencies/mining but in a new sub category maybe called "pools"
If you want further delineation, give each major pool their own sub (once they have qualified though post counts related to their pool). This would keep the main forums form becoming too messy.
Just a thought...
We will have to wait another few years for more subforums, the goal is to make use of what we have. I'm seriously thinking that Pools should go to Announcements for these reasons: First, pools could be construed as a service, which does go to Announcements Second, if you see the pool threads, they say [ANN] Insert Pool. That is generally a good indicator that Announcements is a good place for them Third, as I mentioned before, the Announcements section should be far more static and not difficult to manually find things. People looking for mining help shouldn't be wading through pool announcements as well. I kind of picture Mining as being about Mining Discussion, Speculation, Questions, etc.

So should older coins also be keeping their main threads in announcements?
Also, thinking about this again, I will move threads to their appropriate places, but only the ones on the first few pages (I'm aware that older threads will come forward as I do) This way the older inactive coins and threads can just be left where they are, and the newer active and still valid ones will be moved to their appropriate spots. And I will continue to move active threads as they pop up until all thats left is new general discussion, and the old inactive threads are burried.

Some pretty good ideas here all 'round. The only possibly complication I can see is that the announcement thread will have only information that dev wants to include. All the criticisms (for better or worse) will be separated from the potentially harmful data or misrepresented coin.
Maybe the separation isn't actually very important or I could also easily be misunderstanding the idea.
Another good point, I say we should continue to allow general coin discussion inside of a coin's announcement thread.

Realdon and Dweeb, opinions noted. My main concern is clutter. I see Mining as being a place for people to go and actively search for answers to their mining problems, or find information about mining hardware, and my first though is that pool announcements aren't one of those things that would be too difficult to find in any section, so by having them in announcements, its doesn't clutter up slightly more urgent matters. If Announcements consisted of Coin Announcements and Pool Announcements, the first and second pages should contain all of the current hip and happening coins, and their respective pools. I'm leaning slightly toward Announcements myself, but of course I value your opinions. *Edit* I like the idea actually. Have the official announcement thread for important messages from the devs, and then a general discussion thread for regular happenings. Noted Maybe a coin's announcement thread should be locked, so ONLY announcements can be posted to it, and it can have on the first page a link to a discussion thread where people can respond to the announcements and discuss them and so on?
Or heck, each time the admin posts an announcement to the coins' announcement there they could also create a discussion thread for discussing that specific announcement?
-MarkM-
*Edit again* On second thought, that might lead up to too many threads being created. I think the current general discussion within the coin announcement thread works fine, the Coin Developer can always edit the OP so all important information is consolidated on that post.

Ty salty and congratulations on GM Thanks honkey Also, question just posed itself and I'd like to hear your opinions. Should Pool Announcement threads go in Announcements or Mining? I initially thought that they would go in Announcements, and that Mining would be for Mining related discussion and support, but I also see them fitting in Mining. Let me know what is on your minds.

Is it possible to move the current threads to the appropriate subsections? I don't expect a mod to do it, as that would take forever, but can the post starters do it somehow? Alternatively, have the coin creators make new 'official' threads in the announcements section and lock the old threads.
Thank you SaltySpitoon and Theymos!
Yes, people are able to move their own threads to the correct sections, which I do encourage them to do. If you don't know where to move your thread, please ask me as it will help to establish the standard in what topics go where. I'll also move what I see when I have time.
