221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I do not know which ICO is good to follow ? on: March 31, 2018, 09:43:32 PM
This market is new. Is there a way to identify a potential ICO for me to invest in it? Many times I see ICO scam I only smile at the time wasted without profit. It's hard

As you can see from the thread and from my own experience, it is not easy to know which of the ICOs will be successful. The reason is because the crypto space is still in its infant stage and it is still growing. There is still a lot of learning curve before we can get it right
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you afraid of hackers? on: March 31, 2018, 09:41:19 PM
Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?

No I am not afraid of this kind of stuff because i know that hacking is bound to happen and right now there are a lot of companies devoted to working on securities on the blockchain. Also there are steps that are shared online that will prevent our accounts from being hacked.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Alt's are dropping! on: March 31, 2018, 09:39:15 PM
I have read so many topics here about

*My alt's are dropping!
*Red market what to do?
*I'm losing money!
*Panic sell?
*Can this coin still recover?
*When do crypto recover?
and many more a like...

I have no hate to this topics but people need to understand that cryptocurrency is so unpredictable and you need to prepare yourself to lose money in here and you need to keep calm in times like this. I know for sure that crypto will recover, but when is that is the question! If you still have money outside to spend then don't cash out it's still not a lose until you sell on a red market.  Wink

I sometimes wonder where people get the idea that Crypto is not risky . Even investors know that every business is a risk and they are always prepared to win or lose so it is not different in the crypto market which is why it is best to do your research and invest what you are comfortable losing .
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Red. red....RED...how bad is your portofolio affected? on: March 31, 2018, 03:32:20 PM
75% loss so far...and counting...what about you?

I am not moved by the bearish run because i know that there will soon be a bullish run very soon. I suggest you should not worry about how much the value of your invest is right now because this is part of the psychology of the market. It will rise in value very soon
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding crypto coins as of now still profitable? on: March 31, 2018, 03:28:19 PM
Ive been holding coins for months , and every month i flip it in the market. But now, its different, The price of the coin keeps going down. Is it still okay as of now to hodl crypto coins? or better to sold it already in the market.

This is part of the drama of the market. Every experience investor knows that the market goes down and then goes up. It is best you hodl your coins so you don't end up regretting about coming out so early
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Finally spring bull run is coming? on: March 28, 2018, 12:26:08 PM
I wonder if the bearing sentiments have passed for at least a month or two and it's time for bull runners now? What are the expectations for April-May 2018? I understand  the whales fixed their income and closed their positions with some profit and now the market will be slowly moving up. Is it the case? Additionally, I have read many comments and opinions about the ICOs confidence significantly dropping comparing to previous year, and now it became extremely difficult to find the right ICO to invest in...

It is not that difficult to invest in ICOs . If you remove the hype and media on the project, you could use sound principles to be able to judge if an ICO is worth investing or not. When you look at the team behind the project, when you take time to research by asking other experts about what they think about the project, you get enough knowledge to decide to invest. The problem is with all the hype going around where people are most focused on quick bucks than the solid business model.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google Bans All Cryptocurrency Ads, Will It Will Lead to Their Downfall? on: March 28, 2018, 12:21:24 PM
Recently I came across this article on CCN, what do you think about Crowdholding's thoughts about the recent Google Ads ban on crypto?

https://www.ccn.com/google-bans-cryptocurrency-ads-will-lead-downfall/

Wishful thinking? or does it have some validity?

I don't believe it is going  to affect Google. The issue is that the public is not clear about what Cryptocurrency is and a lot of scams are happening because of people's ignorance. I guess till Goggle can understand the concept of Cryptos and differentiate between legit and scams, there best choice is to stop ads.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it market manipulation if price goes down and then up... on: March 28, 2018, 12:18:48 PM
Why is it market manipulation if price goes down and then up... Isn't that what markets do?
Because there are a small handful of whales buying or selling large amounts of bitcoin all at once. They do this to move the market one direction or another with the purpose of inducing fomo or panic selling. Then they cash in on stupid/ignorant investors. So the little guy gets hosed again and again.
Obviously, which is why you should only buy dips and only sell after a run. Whales make money tricking others into panic selling for a loss or tricking them to buy after a pump. Basic market psychology.

This is indeed basic market psychology . Unfortunately, there will always be winners and losers. There will always be those who will make a decision based on FUD and greed. This is the madness of the market that will never go away

230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can something free be a scam? on: March 27, 2018, 03:09:37 PM
Hi everybody,
Lately I am reading a lot of posts asking: is this airdrop a scam? Is that free ICO a scam?
So I am wondering how can something that doesn't cost you a penny be a scam. Sure, they get your email adress and maybe a ETH Adress, but how can you  really be scamed with only this informations? I am not talking about airdrops that require kyc registration, that for sure can be dangerous.
Cheers,

Not every scam has to do with your money . Some of these sites that ask for your email , telegram id and wallet to get an airdrop or bounty sometimes don't fulfill their promise but use your information to sell other schemes; i have seen these a lot.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter banned advertising crypto currency on: March 27, 2018, 01:09:32 PM
LONDON (Reuters) - Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) will start banning cryptocurrency advertising from Tuesday, joining Facebook and Google in a clampdown that seeks to avoid giving publicity to potential fraud or large investor losses.

The prohibition will cover advertising of initial coin offerings (ICOs) - crowdfunding used to raise cash by creating new coins - as well as token sales, the San Francisco-based firm told Reuters on Monday.

The new policy, which will be rolled out over the next 30 days, will also ban ads by cryptocurrency exchanges and cryptocurrency wallet services, unless they are public companies listed on certain major stock markets.

For Japan, these will be limited to crypto exchanges regulated by its national financial regulator, Twitter said.

This isn't new and it is not bad either. It is obvious that due to the scams that are all over the place, it is necessary for the public to be enlightened about Crypto. Till that is done, the ads on ICOs need to be regulated on the Social media platforms to avoid scams.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: fate is getting lost! on: March 27, 2018, 01:07:13 PM
I am starting to loose hope in Bitcoin. Like really i need to cash out and for me its on its lowest... Undecided

Welcome to investing in the markets and this is the time to HODL and don't be swayed by the ups and downs of the market which is normal to experienced investors. Remember that Bitcoin is the gold of the future and also it will be bad to sell at a low value
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to buy Eth? on: March 27, 2018, 01:00:38 PM
Newbie here... I've been thinking about buying my first crypto. I think I want to buy ETH, but wondering if I missed the boat already?

Primarily I'm choosing ETH because I think there are less foreseeable limitations than BTC, and it seems like ETH is basically accepted everywhere BTC is. Plus its cheaper  Grin

Is now a good time to buy it? Should I wait?

It is a great time to buy now and Eth is cheap now so you can join the team. But you can also check the charts, so you can pinpoint when you want to enter and get a good rate on Etheruem. However, you should not put all your eggs in one basket. There are so many alt coins that are good investments
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins You Think will Grow on: March 27, 2018, 12:56:24 PM
As the industry changes day from day. our views as to what coins will grow in long term seem to change.
many thought XRG was it in December, then it was Tron, then people thought less

so anyways

Privacy and Alt Coins

I am still thinking NEO.
But I like to hear from everyone else. as new ideas help to research other coins.

more feed back the better.

My pick on the coins that will grow is based on their projects and what they are solving in the world.

1. Bitcoin
2. Ethereum
3. Lumen
4. Monero
5. Ripple
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teens in the crypto world on: March 26, 2018, 04:46:09 PM
We often are asking question whether we should educate youth and teach them crypto, but for my opinion if they are interested in they are able to educate themselves, even better then we are able to do.

Hear is an article that proves the theory: https://cointelegraph.com/news/teenager-who-hacked-ledger-hardware-wallet-says-devices-still-vulnerable-devs-deny

What do you think?

Well maybe there are some teens that so curious that they want to get into Crypto but it is still necessary to teach the youths and teens about the crypto space because they are the future. Not every teen has the knowledge about crypto. Some of these teens might have known because of friends but still don't have a clear idea. Education is necessary for the teens.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: <$500 ETH. What do you do? on: March 26, 2018, 04:40:52 PM
A lot of people were saying that <$600 price range was a safe buy but now that it's $491, what do you think?

I'm considering buying it but judging by how it looks, it might continue falling. So instead I might monitor for the first raise and then buy then.

What do you think? Are you buying and hodling? Selling? Discuss.

Buying will be the best option and today Eth is at 480 so it is great to accumulate as etherium is a great project that is going to change the world in terms of Finance in ways we never imagined. This is not the first time that Eth has fallen in price so be patient.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: France’s Finance Minister Plans ICO Regulations in Bid to Attract Crypto Startup on: March 26, 2018, 04:34:03 PM
According to a recently published opinion piece, France’s finance minister Bruno Le Maire revealed that the country plans on creating a legal framework for initial coin offerings (ICOs) in a bid to become a leading ICO hub.

In the opinion piece, published on French website Numerama, Le Maire claims he asked former central bank official Jean-Pierre Landau to draft a proposal for a legislative framework on cryptocurrencies. In the article, he wrote:

Quote
“France has every interest in becoming the first major financial center to propose an ad hoc legislative framework for companies making an initial coin offering.”

Landau has the notorious nickname “Monsieur Bitcoin,” and was last month chosen to chair a cryptocurrency task force in France. The taskforce, as covered by CCN, is responsible for “proposing guidelines on the evolution of regulations.”

Le Maire further revealed that an action plan to be presented to the country’s government “in a few weeks” will propose seeing French market regulator Autorité des marches financiers (AMF) have the option to authorize companies to raise funds through ICOs, as long as they respect specific criteria that’s set on protecting investors.

The minister touted that blockchain technology will offer the country’s start-ups unprecedented opportunities, as they will be able to raise funds by issuing tokens. He said:

Quote
“A revolution is underway, of which bitcoin was only the precursor. The blockchain will offer new opportunities to our startups, for example with the Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) that will allow them to raise funds through ‘tokens (…)This promises to create a network of confidence without intermediaries, offers increased traceability and will boost economic efficiency.”

According to him, France has a tradition of financial innovation, and its new goal is to “enter the world of finance of the 21st century by guaranteeing all players the necessary security for their development.” In his op-ed his piece, Le Maire wrote that “[France] should not miss out on the blockchain revolution.”

The country, along with Germany, notably called for cryptocurrencies to be discussed at G20. During the summit, in Buenos Aires, Argentina Le Maire highlighted the importance of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. The G20 communique revealed a crackdown on cryptocurrencies may not occur, although regulation proposals are set to come by July.

https://www.ccn.com/frances-finance-minister-plans-ico-regulations-in-bid-to-attract-crypto-startups/

Despite the fire and brimstone spit forth by the G20 about its thought on Cryptocurrencies, eventually they had no choice than to study the industry rather than try to take it out. Crytocurrency is here to stay and they are very much aware about how much these coins are helping people especially in developing countries. So i am not surprised of their decision.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Rewards: Sell immediately or HODL? on: March 26, 2018, 04:28:10 PM
I've been doing bounty campaigns only since December 2017.  Not long, in the scheme of things.  But one thing that truly surprised me during the last couple of months is the number of bounty hunters who look to sell their tokens ASAP.  At first, I didn't understand why, but I think I'm beginning to.

For me, I'm doing these bounty campaigns for a bit of fun and to give my mind a bit work to do, creatively speaking.  So my mindset for any bounty tokens is just to HODL and allow the devs to implement their roadmap and take the project through to completion.  I think this will give the best realisation of value on the tokens.  Sure, some may fail and they will likely end up worthless, but since I only invested time, not money, into receiving them, I'm not really worried.

So with that mindset, I struggled to understand why so many people were eager to offload their bounties at the earliest opportunity.

But over the weekend, I sat down and did some calculations on the accumulated bounty rewards I'm expecting to receive.  Each bounty by itself was a modest return, but when combined in totality, it was a sizeable amount.  And that's when it struck me...

Lots of people who live in less fortunate parts of the world, particularly in areas with high unemployment, probably NEED to sell their bounty rewards to put food on the table and pay their bills.

But I really don't know if my assumptions are correct.  So, my question to you is...

Do you sell your Bounty Rewards straight away or HODL?  Any insight into your reasons would be appreciated.

## If this post has been thought provoking for you, I'd really appreciate a bit of Merit in return ##

For me, I get bounties to HODL because it is fun to hold these tokens as I see a future in these technologies. However,, I must say that not everyone that sells is really unemployed . I know some people who see it as business but i do agree that there are so many employed but i wish many investors would understand this and be quick to judge
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me choose an ICO please! on: March 24, 2018, 11:02:32 AM
I have recently been going around and looking for some ICOs to invest in. I found those three which caught my attention. - AgroTechFarm ; Giftz ; Cointed.
 Huh
Ill be really thankful for any help!  Smiley Grin

There are so many ICO out there and i do suggest that you do you own research and get a clue with what these projects are about and the team behind the project else every situation you will get here will be purely subjective.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential ICO projects in Q1/2018? on: March 24, 2018, 10:57:26 AM
ICO is a phenomenon worth looking at since 2017. Many potential ICOs have also attracted many investors, this article will cover 5 notable ICO projects that investors should pay attention to. in the first quarter of 2018.

1. Telegram ICO

Telegram ICO is considered one of the most anticipated ICOs in 2018. The project is looking forward to creating a fast blockchain network that will enable Dapp support, distributed data storage and billing. According to the Telegram ICO whitepaper, the blockchain network has new features:

- Storage - Distributed data storage for peer-to-peer file transfer like torrent.
- The proxy - TON proxy will hide the identity and IP of each node in the TON, and is used to create distributed VPN services.
- Dapps - Blockbuster TONs are expected to support 3rd party Dapp
- DNS - TON'S DNS allows users to assign names to addresses like Ethereum ENS
- Payments - Telegram will make small payments.
The presale period is now over, with ICO scheduled to take place in March 2018, with a budget of around $ 2 billion. Telegram ICO does not have official website so investors should be wary of phishing websites, only track the main information from the social networking site of the telegram.

2. Medicalchain ICO

The medicalchain project plans to use blockchain technology to store data related to the patient's medical condition. The idea of a new project is not too breakthrough but the team is strong and the hype is good.

The project is currently undergoing prototype testing at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The project has a clear road map, potential market and low call level to help the project become the target of investors.

3. NEX ICO

The ICO Nex project is backed by the NEO Council, which aims to build a decentralized platform that can handle millions of orders at the same time.

The difference with other decentralized trading platforms at NEX will become a legal outlet rather than electronic money. With great support from the co-founder of NEO. ICO NEX will become ICO most notable in March 301818.

Ask for opinions and discuss further!

There are so many ICO projects that are just coming out that it is hard for one to know which is great and which is bad. One thing i do know is that we should keep our fingers crossed for these ICOs and every investor should do his own due diligence.
