221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The advantages of bitcoin on: December 30, 2017, 04:12:21 PM
For me, Bitcoin has many advantages, one advantage is it gives to the individual money to sustain the basic needs, It also reduce the increasing number of unemployed in some countries, The people who work in bitcoin develops the ability to reason out, enhanced the English proficiency, that's the some advantage of bitcoin.
The advantage of bitcoin is that it can be used as a global currency. Why ?
Because today almost all e-commerce in the world have added bitcoin as a means of payment.
But by making payments using bitcoin I think it would be more profitable than using currencies like rupiah or currency in general.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long bitcoin will survive ? on: December 30, 2017, 06:28:10 AM
Have you guys ever think to how long is bitcoin will survive in this world ? Well, I mean is there anything that can make bitcoin bankrupt or low price, then possibly will make bitcoiners doesn't want to invest anymore. And also is there any solution to avoid those thing. Just wonder to know.
I can not predict and guess that ... but I'm sure bitcoin will last very long as the days of bitcoin enthusiasts grow and more and more believe in bitcoin
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever dreamed about Bitcoin? on: December 28, 2017, 11:01:35 PM
Have you dreamed about Bitcoin before? Well, recently I dreamed that someone sent me 5 BTC to my Mycelium wallet. I told my friend (in the dream) that those Bitcoin worth around 3000 USD. If that was true ... One Bitcoin is equal to 600 USD in my dream.

Well, I hope the dream come true one day - be it free 5 BTC or 600 USD per Bitcoin.
I never dreamed of being a rich man ... but having bitcoin will make my dream a reality to be a successful person .... it sounds silly ... but that's the reality ... there are so many successful people with bitcoin
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people sell bitcoins? on: December 28, 2017, 03:30:54 PM
Worldwide, especially in my place, must sell it for profit rather than always keep it!
The government always forbids the use and play bitcoin so that it can not grow fully potential in my place. Surely it remains an advantage if there is a transaction rotation for bitcoin in my country to live.
the main factor of people selling bitcoin because there is a need ... or also they worry hackers if storing bitcoin too long ..... maybe also because bitcoin prices have gone up
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: December 27, 2017, 04:24:01 PM
Bitcoin is something radically new. Nothing like Bitcoin has been possible until now. I would go so far as to consider it sui generis; "in its own class".  This makes it important to understand what Bitcoin actually is before we try to describe it to others.

We're getting a good handle on the code, and of course on Bitcoin's function and utility, but what words should we use to describe Bitcoin itself? There has been some debate in other threads [mostly my doing] over how it is like/not like money, cash, dollars, etc. I'd like to start this thread by focusing on the term "money", and play Devil's avocate by asking for your best arguments that Bitcoin IS money.

My legal dictionary states "In usual and ordinary acceptation it [money] means gold, silver, or paper money, used as circulating medium of exchange, and does not embrace notes, bonds, evidences of debt, or other personal or real estate." [cites omitted]

Wikipedia says "Money is any object that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context. The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange; a unit of account; a store of value; and, occasionally, a standard of deferred payment." [cited omitted]

Webster's Online Dictionary defines money as:
    • 1. The most common medium of exchange; functions as legal tender; "we tried to collect the money he owed us".
    • 2. Wealth reckoned in terms of money; "all his money is in real estate".
    • 3. The official currency issued by a government or national bank; "he changed his money into francs".
    • 4. A piece of metal, as gold, silver, copper, etc., coined, or stamped, and issued by the sovereign authority as a medium of exchange in financial transactions between citizens and with government; also, any number of such pieces; coin.
    • 5. Any written or stamped promise, certificate, or order, as a government note, a bank note, a certificate of deposit, etc., which is payable in standard coined money and is lawfully current in lieu of it; in a comprehensive sense, any currency usually and lawfully employed in buying and selling.
    • 6. In general, wealth; property; as, he has much money in land, or in stocks; to make, or lose, money.
    [links omitted]
    [/list]

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

But that is just my point of view. Are there any that can convincingly argue otherwise, that Bitcoin IS money?

Bitcoin is a digital coin that can be sent electronically from one user to another, anywhere in the world that accepts the presence of this currency. Bitcoin is a digital currency that is now increasingly popular in the world of invetation. This currency is triggered by the mysterious figure of Satoshi nakamoto whose full identity is not yet known clearly.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future of altcoins without Bitcoin on: December 27, 2017, 02:09:44 PM
    Hello!

With the recent decrease in value of Bitcoin, the value of almost all the altcoins dropped too.
Now BTC is rising again and so are the altcoins.

I am thinking that if Bitcoin ever crashes, I mean completely drops to a very low value and when doesn't increase anymore.
Then the altcoins are going to drop too and won't have a high value anymore too, which means the cryptocurrency world will die.

Is my statement just nonsense or can it be correct?

I'm curious of what you all think will happen to the altcoins if BTC crashes for real.
altcoin runs on its own rails .. i'm sure altcoin is not totally dependent on bitcoin if altcoin depends on bitcoin ... and if bitcoin die then all will die
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fever on: December 26, 2017, 03:33:16 PM
There is no single person on earth who haven't heard of bitcoin.
Everyone is talking about it, it's all over the news, everyone is buying it, price is dramatically increasing.
It's like gold rush back in 1848.

So why aren't we calling this bitcoin rush?
You know, in 20 years from now it would be funny to say - yeah, i bought/mined bitcoin during bitcoin rush back in 2017 Cheesy
Increasingly, more people are talking about cryptocurrency, the invisible virtual currency. The tremendous increase in cryptocurrency assets also attracts a large audience. Although of course, the purchase of the asset is at risk. The problem is, not a few people who looked lightly risk from the price increase. In fact, buy cryptocurrency, including bitcoin, without a mature calculation
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future on: December 26, 2017, 02:31:29 PM
Cryptocurrency is about to change the world.

With this change, how do you see cryptocurrency supporting the low-income individuals in the world who do not have access to technology in general, limiting their access to this "boom"?
Although it sounds tempting, but there are still people who may question how the existence of this digital currency in the future. With a fluctuating price, when prices decline due to issues or news that are less positive
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can any government ban Bitcoin? on: December 25, 2017, 02:46:22 PM
Bitcoin has been around the borders of financial markets for less than a decade, but is slowly gaining importance as an alternative asset class.
Can the government of any major country step in and do the unlikely?
it is not difficult for the government to ban bitcoin at least for now, Bank Indonesia strictly prohibits the use of BitCoin or perhaps in this case all digital currencies in Indonesia
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin online payments on: December 24, 2017, 03:47:26 PM
When will the youtube and other websites start to pay us with bitcoin?
Bitcoin because of its decentralized nature has the potential to revolutionize trade and allow transactions across international boundaries with ease. This enables delivery of transactions at a small cost from the main payment network and there is no ongoing cost to own a Bitcoin wallet.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: December 24, 2017, 11:45:05 AM
If that's even his name. Just read the bitcoin wiki on him and I'm amazed. Nobody knows him.

Long time passed since he last posted in here. Why? "Busy"? I don't think so. He was active when bitcoin needed support but since the slashdot...
Also, it seems has knowledge in many areas, especially economy. He doesn't act like the average human. Not taking advantage out of his creation, leaving without telling anything. Is he even a single person or a group?

How can someone create something so great and not stepping out to get the credit?
Who is Satoshi Nakamoto actually? Apparently, it was a question that no one needed to answer. The more important thing is to see the results of his work, and how it can affect the society today.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of Bitcoin? on: December 23, 2017, 03:23:08 PM
What is the future of Bitcoin BTC? Will it become a mainstream currency, or will its popularity wane, and why?
With the growing volume of Bitcoin transactions on a daily basis, the limited number of Bitcoin supplies, and the decreasing amount of Bitcoin printed by the system every ten minutes, the Bitcoin price will certainly continue to climb in the future.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are the benefits of bitcoin? on: December 22, 2017, 02:40:53 PM
what are the benefits you get in bitcoin? And how those it affect your daily living?
the benefits of using BitCoin in lieu of online money transactions. BitCoin is a global exchange rate, meaning BitCoin is not owned by any country, making it easy to use anywhere in the world. This makes international transactions easier as there is no discussion of payments to be used in accordance with country rates and of course prices are not affected by the exchange rate of the country's currency.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin is better than other coins? on: December 21, 2017, 03:40:37 PM
It has slow transactions and the fees are high, and it is the cryptocurrency frontier.

What do you think will realistically will take Bitcoins nr1 spot in the future? Bitcoin Cash maybe?  Huh

To determine which one is better between Bitcoin and other coins such as Litecoins, it first needs to be tailored to your needs. If you plan to use crypto currency as a medium of exchange in the transaction process, then Litecoin is a better option. But if you want to make digital currency a long-term investment asset, Bitcoin is more reliable
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Christmas And BTC? on: December 20, 2017, 08:52:57 AM
I was just wondering, to those experts on bitcoin, because I have seen that bitcoin suddenly lay low in going up, and now even plunges.  I needed your opinion.

Does Christmas or any holidays affects bitcoin?
    Please elaborate. Thanks a lot
i do not expect anything on christmas ..... do not expect Santa to come and give gifts ...... i just think if bitcoin is hanging in a christmas tree, what's the guess going?
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin is all about on: December 19, 2017, 01:42:20 PM

Bitcoin, is a decentralized virtual currency found by Satoshi Nakamoto. The inventor or anonymous group published a white paper in 2008 as a proof of concept, then released it as an open source prototype software in 2009. Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate without central authority or banking institution
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transfer cost on: December 19, 2017, 11:15:16 AM
why are Bitcoin transfer fees increasing?

its getting ridiculous seeing as converting 370$ worth of dash over to Bitcoin resulted in a fee of 27$ and then transferring the 343 worth in Bitcoin to another wallet cost around another 29 and then transferring it to my Bitpay card from there cost 18 bucks which left me with 297 bucks out of the 370 in dash that I had.

Bitcoin fees used to be far less correct?

how can a Bitcoin economy work if you have to pay such absurd fees especially if you paying directly in Bitcoin to a business that accepts it?

Is there a way to fix these out of control fees?
All the wallets have the same shipping cost, standard: 0.0001 Bitcoin. if there is a different, it depends on the providers.
e.g .: XA * O provides a cost-free delivery feature to all Bitcoin wallets. In essence, the site is paid
238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantages of paying with Bitcoin on: December 18, 2017, 02:06:36 PM
So today I purchased web hosting from Namecheap using Bitcoin and it was incredibly cheap, simple and best of all, anonymous. When it comes to website ownership, depending on the kinds of sites you are building, this can be an important thing.

One of the reasons why Bitcoin took off initially was because of its privacy and anonymity benefits. Back then there were so few places where you could actually spend Bitcoin, so people ended up purchasing illegal things to test out the platform.

Now, we can see and trust definite advantages that Bitcoin as a technology brings - secure store of value, anonymity, global/universal currency, transparency (blockchain), software apps can be built on top, etc

but I really just wanted to get your opinion...

What are some advantages of paying with Bitcoin?
Bitcoin offers many advantages over traditional banks. This bitcoin enables international payment delivery regardless of currency conversion, within about 10 minutes, and the transaction can not be canceled once done. This side can be seen as positive or negative.
    239  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Bitcoin be ban? on: December 16, 2017, 02:54:37 PM
    Can Bitcoin be ban?
People who believe that no government will take the extraordinary step of Bitcoin's prohibition requires an example in the past. There are times when holding gold bullion is a violation in America, can be punished with up to 10 years in prison
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the advantages of having Bitcoin? on: December 15, 2017, 02:37:00 PM
The only thing I know about Bitcoin is that it is a virtual 'money' but what are the other use of it? What are your advantages for having a bitcoin?  Roll Eyes
Very Low Cost - Bitcoin payments are currently processed at no cost or at a very low cost. Users can enter fees in transactions to obtain priority processing, thus securing faster transaction confirmation by the network. In addition, the seller processor is there to assist sellers in transaction processing, converting bitcoins into conventional fiat currency
