Just thinking stupidly; Maybe Mike Hearn just sell his btc and try to speculate bitcoin market before halving. Maybe he secretly will buy as many btc as he can after the big btc depreciation. If halving occurs he could be bloody rich!.. I would say this is entirely possible, but I would doubt it unless we are provided with further evidence to support the theory. The Bitcoin price isn't entirely collapsing, and has been on a minor upswing over the past few hours, so the market might be beginning to start climbing out of the hole. Or perhaps he was blackmailed into doing this by people who shorted. I dunno. Just a wild idea.

I mean this question sincerely: Who the fuck is Mike Hearn?
I'm like part-time into bitcoin and I don't read a lot of news or a lot of anything, and I should. But I don't know who this guy is. Or why his opinion carries extra weight.
These are gimmicks to get higher popularity in journalism as make controversial statements. And bcz of he is author at NY times. There is no meaning of his statements. Actually Mike is just programmer. That's correct, he is just a programmer. One of probably millions who are capable of doing the same job equally well. I sense an inflated sense of self-worth.

I haven't been following much of Bitcoin for a while now. Is what I read true that the Bitcoin network has lots of congestion and that transactions take too long?
Never had a transaction not go through where it wasn't a 3rd party's fault in all my years in bitcoin. Sometimes it took over an hour, but that's not exactly the end of the world.

Jeff Gundlach, CEO of DoubleLine Capital, predicts a 30% rise in the price of gold this year. I think that's a conservative prediction given the market instability we've already seen just a couple of weeks into 2016.

In my years as a member, I have seen this happen over and over with different exchanges going AWOL. The result is basically always the same. The crypto-currency is lost forever and there is no legal recourse.

Someone said that lotteries are a tax on the mathematically-challenged, and I'd agree with that. Chances are next to zero, and the odds are against you always, so why play at all? For some people it's fun, but I hate throwing money away like that.
Most people realize they have almost no hope of winning due to probability alone. I think the reason many people play anyway, is because of some metaphysical idea or wish that might somehow negate the probabilistic odds that stacked against them.

As described on the title , I'm selling a virwox.com account level 3 account . Topic is self-moderated simply to prevent spammers from posting here (I can make difference between a spammer and a serious buyer).
What is the benefit of having a level 3 account? Do I need to do anything to maintain that level? I use virwox sometimes.

Please explain how it is possible for you to offer such huge discounts on gift cards with a fixed value. I cannot believe this doesn't involve scamming and/or theft.

Bitcoin isn't ready for the majority of people to use seriously as money or store of wealth. That will take 10 years or more to happen through building infrastructure and getting people used to the idea of a purely digital money that is sort of like email.

I don't like any of them. They look like something a teenager would wear in his lower lip. No offense to teenagers.
Thank Foggyb for your opinion. I like this Cufflinks because are different from others. But i see that not all costumer could appreciate them. Let me know, if you agree to reply: have you ever used Cufflinks? I could wear cufflinks, but I have never done so. My job doesn't require a suit, so i dress accordingly.

paypal is quite sneaky you might try to use a vpn or whatever they will still bring the paypal version of your countryy....................
In my experience,This never happened It probably depends on the quality of your VPN service provider and how many servers they have. Every time I access my paypal account and forget to shut off my VPN they lock my account. Total PITA.

There are many financial experts who recommend being in cash during market crisis. I believe Chinese investors are waiting for a better entry point. Not sure that will happen for them, but you never know.

If the bitcoin community succeeds in implementing an inflationary policy, people will lose faith in its utility as a store of value.

I really want to buy Bitcoins, but i donīt feel safe doing it. Iīve been reading a lot in the past months, but still feeling unsafe to buy. I would like to know if you guys could give me a step by step on how to buy it, how it works, how safe it is, what would be a safe way to buy and store it and so on. Thanks in advance for any help!
The best advice I can give you is not to invest money you can't afford to lose. Bitcoin is extremely volatile and has wiped out investors.

Nothing but speculation and guessing
So how many Chinese CEO's need to "convert to Bitcoin and flee the country" before a massive wave of investors create a global Bitcoin mania? Lol, that is the first thought I had when I read the headline. Fleeing CEO's create the next big rally. Maybe Donald Trump or George Soros wants to flee as well?

My worst mistake was selling litecoin for 50 cents a piece just a few months before the price soared to $40.

Amory is a promising project but not everyone needs a full node. I suppose it could have an option for being a partial node, reading block info from a centralized server.
