.....

What did Cryptozoidberg do in the meantime? Become rich with Monero? Wink I mean good to see him back. I just remember some XMR people trying to convince him to join them, but that is crypto ages ago I think.

Ahaha, nope. I actually never got any official invitations from Monero, and at another hand never considered it as a plan by myself.
And I haven't become rich, but got some worth from crypto elevation, like most of the people who are quite long in crypto.
I was just working on another crypto-project, that's it!

boolberrians.

thank you for patience and helping.

I am trying this step. I am hoping someone can help.

So I have my ...bin.keys file. I no longer have my 24 word seed.
I want to restore my wallet.

I am looking at this commands, and I cant quite make sense of them
--restore-wallet
--restore-seed

the restore wallet asks for the 24 word seed, which I no longer have
the restore seed asks me for the 24 worrd seed also.

are they the exact same commans or is there a way I can use it recreat my wallet using my ...bin.keys file.

thanks.

mmm... can i ask why you trying to restore seed if you already have  bin.keys file ?

who else here still has bbr locked in polo

how can we as a community put pressure on them to release our coins to us?

sucks.

I sent bytecoin to them 4 years ago.
I did not include a payment ID but I had time stamp and transaction ID and gave them my public address
but they have not credited me any of it.

I kind of consider it lost.

They can't see sender address in the transaction, so timestamp and your address is not a proof ufortunately.

Hi Zoidberg,

Hope you are well

Id like to invest in boolberry but i just want to be sure if you are truly commited to this project now... it has a ton of potential but i dont want to put money into it if it will be abandoned in the future... please let me know.

Thanks Smiley

As you can read, I was never trying to convince people to invest in BBR or any other project, actually I never give any bits of advice about investing.

What I can say that we really have some plans for BBR, and I really started to contribute to project.

Long time ago that I have been checking this thread. Is there still active development going on for BBR?

There was no any development for last 2 years(!) which is totally my fault, I was busy with other crypto project improving technology.
Now we going to open a new page for the project!

CZ and B4H4mu7
please assist.

I found an old comment from CZ. It appears to be an issue that was supposed to be fixed before.
I was finally able to open my wallet by removing the .bin file and using the .bin.keys file. (thank you 1blockologist)
however, doing this  gave the error below. it is the same error that CZ addressed a while back. I am wondering if one of you can address this problem. thanks.

2017-Dec-21 20:09:43.719866 [RPC1]ERROR C:\home\projects\boolberry\src\currency_core\blockchain_storage.cpp:1445[currency::blockchain_storage::find_blockchain_supplement]Client sent wrong NOTIFY_REQUEST_CHAIN: genesis block missmatch:

 dropping connection

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reporting problem, will fix it asap.

I've discovered the problem.
Since today we've made some major fixes genesis id had changed(and thats why we've restarted the net again). The wallet keeps (in wallet_name.bin file) his own block chain(not full blocks, just block ids) to be able to handle some splits in daemon.
So you probably have been generated your wallet with sources before todays fixes. It's not a big problem - just remove your wallet_name.bin file (DO NOT KILL wallet_name.bin.keys file) and reopen wallet. This case is not a typical problem - genesis block is not subject to change in normal life. But, it is now possible to open the wallet from different network (such as bytecon or bitmonero) that will cause the same errors, so we will add extra info to wallet to avoid this.
Let me know if problem is not gone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This old comment was made before official network launch, at that time I was restarting net every few days to test things, and because of this people got faced with situations where wallet was unable to sync(genesis mismatch). I'm wondering how you got this problem, because as I can see
id 830ec1d9917286cd95ac0128022900dc452c33d9d29974ae304bff430fc10353 was genesis of one of the first test net. Probably you got some wrong wallet file?

Hello Dear Friends!

Perhaps you could notice a rise of activity around BBR during last months. Here we must give credit to  b4h4mu7 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=898973) who put a lot of efforts in promoting and enlisting at exchange platforms. He is by far the biggest contributor to BBR and eventually starting his own project, which is great. I wish him success with it.

I have a bit different opinion on some aspects of this new project though. I have reviewed it’s repository and have a few thoughts to share. First, as I can see it’s a copy of ByteCoin and I want to stress that ByteCoin core is incompatible with BBR. Besides the question why is it called a BBR fork then, I would suggest to choose another codebase, e.g. Monero which has stronger developer community. Second, as steps to improve the BBR I would focus on implementing a database first. That is critically important. Third, I personally consider bitcoin cash style hard forks a bad approach in general. That inflates the capitalization of new coin out of nowhere, basically making it a bubble and spoiling the idea of cryptocurrencies itself.

Since we touched this topic I would like to make an early statement. The official announcement is on the way still, but we have big plans for BBR improvement quiet soon. We will bring database, hybrid POS/POW transactions verification, multisig and few other cool features to the project. I will keep you posted with updates, but we already have a strong development and marketing team and look forward to upcoming changes.

Good news!

Finally, i've solved the problem with windows builds.
I thought it was related with windows 10 since first reports came from this OS, and wasted some time to prepare wind10 environment, and there i figured out that the problem was absolutely not related with OS, just incompatibility of the original GUI HTML API with backend API. This issue had fixed, please report new issues here or in bbr slack: boolberry.slack.com or in github.

New build available: http://boolberry.com/downloads/windows/bbr-win-x64-v0.3.0.44(083358b)-installer.exe

MacOS and Linux builds are coming soon...

Zoidberg.

Welcome home great to see you back here...is this a recommended update if you are already all synced up and running v0.3.0.41?

Cheers and seasons greetings Jon Wink

If you have only daemon without GUI that's ok, or even if you have very old build - it also ok for now, but later i'll change p2p maintainers keys and update all network.

do you guys notice that it takes forever to store the blockchain.

Yes, true. And it consumes ocean or RAM.
It's gonna be solved with new and shining db engine pretty soon my friend!

First, you have to wait while daemon get synchronized, then buttons should work.
If it still not work, can you send me exact version of windows you running?

Zoidberg

I can confirm the same problem. I tested it on a Windows 2012 R2 machine. No dialog opens with the open or generate wallet options.

Ok, thanks for feedback, i'm working on it.

Good news!

Finally I've restored dev environment for qt web kit and built BBR binaries for windows.

As some of oldest community members can remember, at the end of 2014 there was an idea to redesign GUI, we started with Bitcrea and there was even a guy who was making html work for it, but from what I see now I it's in some "intermediate" condition, so I’ve brought back original GUI html.

I’ve tested it on few versions of windows and it worked fine except clean win 7 boot with no service packs installed, the reason is unknown to me yet so please make sure you have at least sp1.

Or check the website for the link.

Please, take a look and let me know if you run into any issues.

I'm trying to push "open wallet" and nothing happens. Generate new wallet not work too

Hello dear friends!
Long time no talk!
As some of you may know, during last weeks i was in contact with b4h4mu7 talking about future of BBR and about his own ideas. I really appreciate all he did for BBR community and for the project, especially listing on exchange.
And i’m really proud to see that BBR inspired people like b4h4mu7 for new exciting projects! That's wonderful!
As for me, I have a lot of ideas to improve BBR and decided to turn a new page of the project development.
Few days ago i bought 2 dedicated servers and maintained there 2 seed nodes, and then added them to seed list.
Also i moved boolberry.com to one of this servers, and setup “oldschool” monitoring, as it was back in “good old times”.

Now, some of users may face problems with synchronization which looks like:

Code:
Remote node have longer checkpoints zone( 773500) that local (550000)That means that current software is outdated, please updated it.Current heigh lay under checkpoints on remote host, so it is not possible validate this transactions on local host, disconnecting.

This problem gonna be solved when i put new binaries to the website. It will take some time (1-2 days) since i need to reincarnate building environment with excotic qt version.

PS: I know, my estimations might be taken very sceptical now, whatever.
New updates are coming soon….

.......
Over the last 5 months, I've funded this project without any support from investors. I've mostly compensated contributors in BBR(XBB) but also BTC as needed (due to the lack of liquidity from exchange delisting). I've only received a small amount of donations totaling around 300BBR and .1BTC. That said, the team has grown to 10 developers, 5 cryptographers, 2 graphics designers and other contributors working on the project in a private repository. Cryptozoidberg has been working with us in an advisory position due to his current development obligations. As his schedule permits he will eventually be able to join our efforts full time. Despite some of your feelings towards Cryptozoidberg, he is a great asset to this project and his knowledge of CN is deeper than anyone else on this forum. In that sense he is the Satoshi of CN.
........

Let me put little remark here:

1. I'm not involved in b4h4mu's project. They asked me just a few things, but I have an only misty idea about the project that they do. Hope it's gonna be something interesting.
2. I never claimed to join full time into it.

What I really promised is to get back to BBR, eventually and i still want to do that.

And i really appreciate all efforts of b4h4mu to put BBR to exchange.

Thank you, buddy, jut one little question: why you acquire m_blockchain_lock (it's already owned by this code at the beginning of function)?

Merged!
Thanks!

Any ideas who could make these transactions? Smiley

I can not sync BBR Blockchain.
At Block 757131 get a "Block recognized as orphaned and rejected" message.
And this for hours.
i use a seed node 5.9.44.154:10101

Got the same issue.

I found out there are txs with invalid key_image in the blockchain. The first one is at block 757131.
On May 9th zoidberg commited a security fix from monero (https://getmonero.org/2017/05/17/disclosure-of-a-major-bug-in-cryptonote-based-currencies.html) and now each input is being checked against invalid key_image. That's good.
Unfortunately, by the time he commited the fix there had already been malformed txs in the blockchain. That's why blockchain can't be resyncronized from the beginning now.

I send a pull request to address this issue: https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/boolberry/pull/54

Thank you, buddy, jut one little question: why you acquire m_blockchain_lock (it's already owned by this code at the beginning of function)?

Code:
    CRITICAL_REGION_BEGIN(m_blockchain_lock);
    top_block_height = m_blocks.size() - 1;
    CRITICAL_REGION_END();

Just pushed to github security fix.
Issue was discovered by Monero Lab and they kindly noticed me about this case.
Strong advice to everyone who running BBR daemons to update it ASAP.

What's the official site? boolberry.com or boolberry.org?

On both the release to download is yet 0.3.0.41. I need it for Ubuntu Linux.

Sorry amigo, i didn't build binaries yet.
