Gotta let CN founders wet their beaks.

Wait, it's the XDN founders who have beaks.

Wait, XDN founders now have dark beaks.

Are we still paying royalty to CN developers? Is the royalty compulsively?

Yes, and not really. I think if you solo mine, then you can turn off the 1% donation, but if you mine at a pool, then I think they mostly have it turned on. It's really not clear, and I've asked for more information previously, and was told to read the source code. It would be nice if there was more than a vague sentence or two about miners voting on dev bounty for non-c++ programmers.

Sorry if it looks shady.

If the question was about CN developers, then yes, we do.
Whatever value we get in each 720s block we pay 10% of this to CN founders.

Boolberry Brand with BBR Ticker Confirmed in Community Vote 88% to 12%

Thanks to everyone who participated in the vote!!!

OP to this thread to be updated shortly.

(Other announcements pending.)

One resiliant name, i think it is second time it survived large renaming initiative. It seems it is here to stay  Cheesy

I was wondering where is sussex ?... i've missed to trolling comments Smiley

sussex wasn't trolling.  He was making sound arguments, which were falsely called 'trolling' because you and windjc didn't agree with them.

The results of all four pools (official rune vs sektor, unofficial rune vs bbr, informal jl777, and official rune vs aureaum) show the vast majority agree with sussesx.

You two ran him off by deleting his posts.  It's not nice to insult people and then take away their right to respond.

It usualy enough an one post, one statement, to express your position and let everyone know your feelings.

But loud flooding along the thread in few pages  -  this is at least bad manners. (don't confuse with bad moneros)

That's why i made warning, and then removed one his post. But not because i was disagree - everyone knows that i'm the biggest fun of boolberry name.

bbr-linux-x64-v0.3.0.41.tar.bz2

at first I made upgrade to newest version, remove whole blockchain, restore wallet copy from backup - all with no success...

You don't need to remove whole blockchain and resync daemon, actually need only to remove poolstate.bin and restart deamon, it's writen here: http://boolberry.com/howto.html#rebuild_wallet_datafile

The problem is in poolstate.bin.

If after that your problem still appear, send me logs in pm (both files: boolb.log and simplewallet.log)

I've asked politely thrice about getting a mac wallet working and no one seems to give a shit.

One more try: does ANYONE use a mac wallet? If so, have any of you had to overcome syncing challenges? Still unable to sync a mac wallet.

Hey, sorry, i was out of city during weekend, and probably missed your posts. I use macos wallet, seems that wokrs fine.
1. What is your GUI version ?
2. If you use last build (v0.3.0.41(abcdeab)) , can you please send me your log files ? (it located in your bundel in macos folder)

In recent version there was a bug with broken syncronization, but now it should be fixed.
Anyway, let me know if you solved this issue in PM, and sorry for late response.

Can you send logs ? it's in application bundle: press in context menu "Show package content", go to MacOs folder and pickup qt-boolb.log, send it to crypo.zoidberg dog gmail.

I have also problem with wallet:

Good news!

We have new release, v0.3.0.40(596da8c) where fixed some bugs and implemented couple of sweet features.

1. Fixed bug with btc to usd rate fetching
2. Alternative blocks (ophaned subchains) now is not stored on drive after application exit and, in case of long running daemon it's pruned after a week.
2. In GUI added option unlock_time, as well displaying fee, unlock time:

3. Fixed couple of bugs with error handling in GUI(that was lead to frozen GUI), fixed bug with serialization.
4. Implemented feature that allow to see incoming unconfirmed transaction immediately after it being sent at other side:

This is my favorite feature in this release: now you could easily see how fast trasaction goes from wallet in one part of globe to another. Incoming unconfirmed transactions showed with green sandwatch. Sent unconfirmed transactions showed with red sandwatch:

5. Finally fixed linux GUI launch script (thanks to Mariu5 user)
6. Fixed critical goup of bugs with cumulative transaction size calculation, that was lead to syncronization fails + confusing with sending transactions, now should work fine. (those who had this problems - rebuild your wallet)
7. Finally added proper icon to macos bundle, now looks much better:

Wellknown bugs:
1. Unlocktime sometimes show wrong negative value. fixed
2. Some of betta testers has following problems:

Code:
Problem creating accessible interface for:  Html5ApplicationViewer(0x7fff5772a410)
Make sure to deploy Qt with accessibility plugins.
Segmentation fault

Problems solving by sudo.

If someone face the same issue let me know details, including OS version.

Next announcements is coming soon.

P.S. My yesterday's post that I removed (to avoid misunderstanding) were about possible flaw in exchanges, but not in Boolberry or any other CryptoNote coin. More details will be posted tomorrow.

So is Boolberry's "get ahead" plan to openly insult others in their thread? So much for jl777's claim of us being "cryptonote brothers".

Look, it's been a rough couple of days, and we're all completely exhausted from sitting on the edge of our seat waiting for some phantom attack. You go and drop this bomb-shell of a post on Bitcointalk about how you've found some breaking issue that affects every CN coin and say that you urgently need to alert all of the exchanges. Understandably, given the context and the apparent looming threat, we're going to look at the commit and assume this is something that needs urgent attention. We made a judgement call, added it, and reverted the commit within minutes.

Now you may say that we're not cautious enough. You may call us reactionary under pressure. You may even rightfully say that we are unfamiliar with a codebase we did not write. All of this is true. But to say we "have no idea what [we] do", and to personally insult me? That's uncalled for and unnecessary, and is a terribly weak attempt to make yourself look good. Let me save you the hassle for next time: you are a very accomplished coder. Clearly you can churn out code like there's no tomorrow. There, now next time you won't feel the need to insult me or insult us, you can just quote this post and pat yourself on the back.

You need to seriously give some thought to the way your very public actions reflect on the cryptocurrency that you and you alone control.

hey, man, may be there is no tomorrow for Monero, but not for Boolberry.

fluffypony, didn't know that you so sensetive after all that you was saing before about me and our project.
But, anyway i'm pleased to know that you trust me so much that pull my commits without even read it.

Notice: If someone want to push few exploits into monero code, you know how to reach me Smiley

PS: Storm is over, relax and have a some fun, eveyone do mistakes, don't take seriously my joke.

How do you set the data directory for boolb-qt? I tried adding -datadir=d:\WhereIWantItToGo\data but it just immediately crashes.

Also tried running qt-boolb.exe --help from cmd, and it also immediately crashes.

Hi jwinterm!

It's not crushed, it exit right after start, because you passed wrong command line parameter, since this is not console but GUI application, it can't write messages in console. Anyway, this issue should be handled somehow, in future, i'll add this in todo list.

Anyway, here is command line for launching with specified data dir:
Code:
qt-boolb.exe --data-dir=C:\home\tmp

Zoidberg

I had actually tried that already:
Code:
D:\boolberry\qt-boolb.exe --datadir=d:\boolberry\data
It still closes instantly. Also, when you run any bitcoin clone from the command line with --help flag, it will open with a set of all startup options, so yea, there must be someway to handle it.

--data-dir

cncoin.farm has been updated to use fancoder's cryptonote-universal-pool. I added cryptic, hard to understand options for donations and fixed diff comes with fancoder's code. You can set them using the login in your miner. Check page for hard to understand instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for this hard to understand announce! Great job!  Wink

I'm sorry to interrupt the current discussion but I have a technical question regarding Boolberry/Rune or whatever it's going to be called.

Is there a method for changing wallet passwords?  Or do I need to create a new wallet and transfer the coins?  If I have an alias attached to the wallet I want to change the password on is there a way to transfer that to the new wallet if that is what I need to do to change the password?

Thanks

Does anyone have an answer or is there some location I can go to find this information?

If I missed a reply I apologize but I couldn't stand reading through the last pages of posts.  I hope you understand.

Thanks

No, it's not possible yet. It's not hard to implement, but too much work ahead and this feature seemed to be rare needed.

Ready to bet 5 BTC that todays attack won't kill XMR or other CryptoNote-based coin. Who want to answer ?

Details:
1. The bet is about exploit that could uncover wallet's private keys, or some other exploit that allow to steal money.  i insist that it is not possible.
(time warp attack also could be dangeros, if it will be found, but will be fixed pretty fast with checkpoints and diff algo adjustment, and won't hurt project much, so we not taking into account that kind of attack).

2. If someone ready to answer we both should transfer coins to surfer43 as guarantee.
