This is false. Truth is : Last weeks div was not from a fully deployed farm since the deployment was finished tuesday. Litecoin difficulty sometimes increases, sometimes decreases. Over the long term, sure, it increases, but it's nothing compared to BTC Bad return from the BTC/LTC conversion rate is a risk, and at the moment this risk is hurting the dividend. But this can go other way around. Reinvestment fund is ~5% of market cap. If reinvested wisely, the farm can cope enough with diff increase to break even and profit. Well, CRYPTX BTC price is dropping, but its dollar price is doing OK. As long as BTC/$ exchange rate keeps growing, you'll be able to break even in $$$. In BTC? Not so much. Anyhow, investing is not all about profit. Small scrypt miners would like to thank all of you for keeping the Litecoin network secure  Braking even in $ is a delusion. Brake even in BTC should be the goal. But the BTC/$ rise will help with electricity cost & hosting cost (or whatever they call it) I'm sorry, all you did was elaborate on my point. How is it wrong? And you honestly think LTC difficulty is going to rise less than five percent a week? Good luck with that. |

Why is the price of each share below IPO when it's earning 80% APY right now? That is one of the best investments there are, and if the project will swap over to a new coin should LTC no longer be as profitable, it could sustain that. Am I missing something here?
Diminishing returns. Well we have yet to see what the reinvestment will be like, but as for the current returns they are actually increasing. Sure the amount in btc is decreasing but the actual value of the dividend is increasing. This. Plus there are more scrypt coins being released all the time, so even if LTC isn't as profitable anymore, a new coin can be mined. Do you guys even know the specifics of what you have invested in? I am just going to throw out there what I said the other day... I wish I could find the article I read, but I am sure someone else read the same thing. I don't always understand where people come up with their analysis, but so far he seems dead on, and I am encouraged at the possibilities still.... not wavering one bit.
To recap, he stated that so far DRK has followed the same pattern over and over (I think he said it has happened 5-6 times already), and that is the price of DRK climbs 5x, and then has a 40% sell-off.
Well, the price peaked at .0277 btc before this latest drop started...
Using that number, .0277 x .6 = .01662
This is right about where we have seen the price finally settle after some valleys & peaks trading around this level.
So assuming he is right, sometime in the next couple of weeks the coin could be heading upwards to the .0831 neighborhood ($48.04 based on current price of BTC).

This makes sense. The general consensus is that at some point DRK will test LTC. This isn't only my belief, or the beliefs of the full time trades I talk with on a regular basis, but also the belief of many prominent BTC evangelists, writers and investors. But the price can't just jump up like that, it has to do it in swings, it's how markets work. All the people selling now are just short term investors who can't look past the 15M charts and think this downtrend is the end. I really wouldn't worry about the price right now, it will settle soon and then we will see another huge uptrend. Me, and so many other experienced traders are just using moments like this to increase our stake. Darkcoin is the most innovative coin since bitcoin, fullstop, I would seriously like to see a competent argument against this, There isn't another coin out there that can influence the way the market works in the way this coin can. Don't worry about the price, and if you are, just make sure your in before the next jump. I don't think there is anymore than two before we test 0.1 To put this in perspective, I'm now sitting on my first loss in six months. Am I worried? Nope. This is called price discovery, and we can't move up again until we shake off all the weaker investors from this recent rise. Some people just don't have the stomach for swings, these are the people who more often than not lose money. Anyways, from my perspective, the more the price drops the better. It just means were shaking off more of those investors and getting more serious ones in. I mean shit, who else buys near the end of a downtrend apart from good investors? Because its defiantly not the weak investors, this is exactly when their supposed to sell. |

What the heck does IPtables have anything to do with running a MN? Was that the first term you could think of you could throw out there? An understanding of these technologies is not a requirement for running a MN. Yes, it helps you administer your own node if you have the knowledge but these folks should know that a fully managed host provider is also an alternative, too. We need to stop discouraging people from joining. This is not how IT services in today's commercial space works.

I don't have a clue how to set up a masternode - does that make me a 'fucktard' too? I hold over 200 DRK and believe in this coin just as much those who are savvy with the technical side of things.

You need to get familiar with Linux and have a good understanding of network/internet security before attempting IMHO... No, you do not need to get familiar with Linux but get used to the fact that you need to rely on a capable service provider to provide you hosting and security services which comes at a cost. I am getting tired of people asking others to become security SMEs in order to be able to participate in the MN network. That's a disservice to Darkcoin as it prevents more money from coming in. Prepare to get really, really tired.  I love how you try and take the higher intellectual ground yet you've been here since 2011 and your main business is still a small shop selling gun parts over the Internet. |
