Glad you are not the ultimate decision maker for anything, saddened by the fact that your posts do impact decision making process for newcomers reading these last few messages. What a self-serving bastard you are!
You call names and insist upon that which you have no understanding of, and openly demonstrate that lack of understanding.

I have proven that I'm fucking awesome at this.

How does this serve me? How do you know the marital status of my parents at the time I was conceived?

Welcome to the ignore list.

Please. Do "own" or "run" a masternode with absolutely no knowledge of how to set it up or maintain it. I want pain to visit you and teach your sorry ass a lesson. Not because I wish harm to you, but because I want you to learn, and you have elected the hard way as the only path you'll accept. May it find you swiftly.

Is anyone concerned about having half the nodes at a facility that currently has a $600m contract with the CIA for use of their cloud servers, or is this a non-issue?

What are you talking about? This sounds like FUD.

They won a bid over IBM less than 6 months ago, its apparently to host a dedicated CIA cloud, but i wouldnt rule out them having access to the facility itself.

Can you source please? Thanks.

Amazon's contract with any Federal, Defence or Intelligence agency will have no bearing on their commercial cloud offerings. But if you want to scare yourself silly, do read about "key escrow". It supercedes all your worries about snooping.

I'm not too worried, they have better things to do I hope.

DarkCoin might be ASIC Resistant but it's far from fucktard resistant...
Supporters of this coin are it's biggest liability it would seem.
A peculiar model on which to build an economy.

Darkcoin unlike DOGE doesn't need community support. DRK will be used regardless of what anyone says on here!

Darkcoin, the only fungible crypto currency.

You can rest assured that CIA won't be on Amazon GovCloud unless (or even if) they are hosting front-end web application services on there only. It will most likely be a private cloud offering for them.

My only concern for BTC is that there aren't enough intelligent people in the human race.... While it is a network of computers, without the people operating those computers, it ceases to exist. If there aren't enough people with IQs above room temperature to keep it viable, it isn't viable. It is essentially a currency built on intellect, something sadly lacking from the average human being today....

I know full well that greed will drive the stupid to do stupid things... But they'll pay the price. And worst of all, I won't be able to snag the dark they throw away and add their blood to my hot tub... It'll just fuck DRK directly. And THAT, sir, is what I find to be offensive. :-p

Actually, it seems like there is probably a good service opportunity here for White Hat hacker to penetration test all of the Masternodes and ask for payment if flaws are found.

On that note, it could be that this attacker was a white hat.  This actually happened with Counterparty about a month ago.  Someone found a flaw, exploited it, stole some coins and then returned them once the flaw was fixed.

This is an appropriate angle to take. Pentest the service providers to see if they're up to snuff, or just smart enough to talk circles around those they swindle...

Still leaves the question of ongoing maintenance and handling an imminent or ongoing attack... If you don't know jack, how do you do it? Pay someone some more? Exactly how much money do you think that MN is going to make for you that you don't have to do any of the work and can afford to pay for everything to be done for you? Got a butler that wipes your ass for you, too?

It's no concern to me, so I wash my hands of it. You've been warned.

Lol. What an asshole. It's always the ones running around telling everyone they are superior that are actually extremely stupid, bitter, failures of people. He's been around since 2011? He's probably bitter because he was too stupid to see an opportunity and now takes his anger out on everyone else.

As a newbie who has just read the last hundred pages, I wish to see him gone from this thread. I like the currency but if you have assholes like this running around thinking they are self important it just gives dark a bad name.

So, who wants to talk about DRK?

I've been amazed to see the miners get behind the coin so strongly even with depressed pricing...

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...
