221  Economy / Goods / Re: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 Ultrawide angle lens for Canon EF on: July 30, 2011, 05:49:27 AM
Any trading references? I'm interested.

I don't think so.  I've never traded from this forum before, but we can use an escrow service if you'd be more comfortable with that.

Which country are you selling the lens from?

US.  Phoenix, AZ.

For our account verification process, we have to submit proof of identity and proof of address.  On your website it appears that only scanned/digital copies are accepted.  Is there an option where we can physically send (via snail mail) copies in instead and have them kept OFFline?

I'm selling my Sigma 10-20mm lens that I used *maybe* two or three times before I decided I can't stand the vignetting at 10-11mm on a 1.3x body.  This lens is actually made for a 1.6x body but I decided to give it a shot, and while it worked, I can't take full advantage of the lens.  Anyway, it comes with the box and all accessories.  $400 via Amazon Payments, or 30 BTC takes it, shipped.

Wait.. when did SA start charging for memberships?  I haven't been there in years, but I remember it used to be free.  I still have my "L33T LIEK JEFFK" shirt I got from Razer CPL in 2000 (or was it 2001?).

Did you let the smoke escape?
229  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: are they making more 5830's? on: July 24, 2011, 07:26:09 AM
and finally, how the hell is it that the 5830 is faster at hashing than the 6850?! (there doesn't appear to be a 6830)
5830 = 1120 Stream Processors
6850 = 960 Stream Processors
230  Economy / Goods / Re: [trade or sell] brand new 6950 1gb for 5870 on: July 24, 2011, 02:38:21 AM
I can get about 462 MH/s out of one of my 5870's, but it's not 24/7 stable at that level.  Odd thing is, I briefly switched over to mining Namecoins last night.  When I decided to switch back to Bitcoins, I killed the namecoind task and fired up my Bitcoin miners and I was getting 494 MH/s out of my 5870s (according to Phoenix miner) at clock rates that should have been giving me around 450-452 MH/s.

PMI, but can't we already do this w/o Tradehill?

Relax guys, I'm sure he made it an .EXE out of the kindness of his heart to make it more convenient for the less savvy of us to use.

So how many BTC did you end up mining?
234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: An early adopter - our story on: July 23, 2011, 06:30:07 PM
In early 2010 Bitcoins were going for less than a tenth of a cent.  If you listen to some of the experts here, it would have taken you hundreds of years to recoup the cost of your hardware.  You should have stopped mining and sold all of your equipment because mining wasn't worth it.
235  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin client rounding up all TX fees to .01! on: July 23, 2011, 05:43:43 PM
Crap, I just checked and I had inadvertently set my transaction fee to .10 lol
236  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: douchebag newegg bumped the price of 5830 to $129.99 on: July 23, 2011, 05:22:52 PM
You realize it's a 5850... right?  Which easily does 380 MH/s+... Not sure where you're getting 311...

Wrd. 5850 and 5870 used to be THE single-GPU cards to get until the supply dried up.  Then everybody had to settle for 5830s.   5850s at $150 shipped didn't last long.
237  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: only 6 5830 remain on newegg... on: July 22, 2011, 06:02:43 PM
Bitcoin mining is a small fraction of AMD sales though.  Must be all the gamers snatching these things up.
238  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: To all you haters of laptop mining on: July 22, 2011, 05:55:46 PM
I made over 600 BTC with my Core2Duo T7500 laptop back in the day (I think I was hitting maybe 2 MH/s tops lol).  But mining wasn't nearly as profitable back then as it is now and I didn't really think Bitcoins were going anywhere.  I ended up reformatting the drive w/o backing up my wallet.  Oh well, live and learn.
239  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Springfield EMP 9mm (Phoenix, AZ only) on: July 22, 2011, 05:34:33 PM
I'd like to find a local buyer for my Springfield EMP in 9mm.  These guns are SUPER hard to find in this caliber (most are steel framed .40).  It's an awesome awesome EDC sidearm and is 100% reliable - at least there were no problems with the 72 rounds that have been through it. Retails for $1345, but I'm looking for just $850 equiv in BTC for it, or will consider trading for two 6990s.

Comes with
- Springfield hard case
- Three 9-rd magazines
- Accessories
- Warranty card

240  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Two 5870s, one gives higher stale rate than the other? on: July 22, 2011, 05:08:47 PM
I think I have this same problem too.  Though the "stales" % is about the same for my two cards according to Deepbit, one card has a lot more "Rejected" shares than the other.  Are Rejected shares the same as stales?
