Sir!
First, zerohedge is a tinfoil whackjob website that panders to the lowest instincts of man. Second, any government could easily outlaw or otherwise cripple crypto by legislating the crap out of it. Don't believe for a minute that it couldn't happen. It could. But I don't think the U.S. government is going to do anything right now. They're probably in cahoots with satoshi, so wait for some more major scams...then it'll happen.
That is correct. If the government does legislate against cryptocurrencies, most people would want to stay on the right side of the law. They won't care about whether the laws are just or whether they are implementable.

So, the thing we've been trying to avoid for years has actually happened: a contentious hard fork.
What are the ramifications?
Bitcoin Cancer Cell is the single crypto sharing SHA-256 with Bitcoin. Thus, miners are free to transition between the two as is more profitable. If Bitcoin Cancer increases in price, the market will subtract hashrate from Bitcoin and add it to the Cancer.
The Cancer is not only a direct threat to Bitcoin, but ultimately to itself since it is built on faulty fundamentals: The big block vision is one where blocks become so huge that only a few datacenters will be able to operate nodes, leading to a centralization level akin to PayPal and credit cards.
The Cancer comes from within us. It uses the same forums, chats and subreddits.
It is here to destroy.
The only solution? Excision before it metastazises and it's too late: Miners of the majority fork must band together and kill off the minority fork.
Miners are commercial organizations and would be worried about their immediate profits. Banding together and killing the minority fork is akin to sacrificing profits. What could they do? Mine empty blocks of BCH? That wouldn't mean that BCH totally dies, right?

Cast your vote people and share with us what you think. We are a community and this way we would know what the majority is thinking.
I always think positively about bitcoin, it seems that on the 1st -7th there will be a price drop but not much after a week of that bitcoin price will rise again over 2900 $ That's according to my prediction, all because there is hard fork effect only How does a hard fork impact the price after it happens,if the price would have gone done,it would have being already and with the way bitcoin is holding up,i do not see much of a downward rally after the fork, unless some big earlier miners plan on dumping bitcoin for BCC,i really hope that wont happen, just a day more for the big day. I don't see that happening. Dumping BTC for BCC is hugely speculative and is more to do with making a statement. I don't see any of the long term holders doing this. They will adopt a wait and watch stance, to see where the market settles down.

It's good to be back, exciting day tomorrow, don't think South Africa will play out the day. They are four down and they need to survive a full day, which i don't see Happening the way the wicket is playing.. England should win this one with a big margin.
Ya it is that England are in good position but cannot say about winning with big margin, as 5th day the swing is very low so if South Africa play smartly then they can get close to getting draw this match because anything can happen in cricket so their will be lot of drama on 5th day. South Africa have only 6 wickets left and no hope of chasing down the target. In such cases, even if the pitch is docile, there is tremendous pressure on the batsmen. I don't think South Africa can bat out the last day, unless rain disrupts play.

This is pretty old news (more than 6 months). Governments across the world are conducting a war on cash. This is bad for anybody who wants privacy in his financial transactions, although he might be a perfectly law abiding citizen who pays his taxes.

Bitcoin will obviously have more value than Bitcoin Cash, there are only a few mining companies that are planning to support BCC chain, I am predicting a price crash on BCC once it goes live on trading exchanges, traders would just dump it fast before the price goes crashing to the bottom.
You are confusing cause and effect. MIning companies will decide which coin to mine, depending on the price of each coin. Support of the miners won't determine price.

India is going to smash the host, India performed on the both side, at first they batted well and after that, they bowled also well. so that Sri Lanka has a little chance to come back this test match, actually they already behind 498 runs which are huge to recover for them. so it is almost clear that India is going to win the first match of the test series.
nothing can be said as rain forecast is their on 4th day so if their is rain then we have to see that what India will be doing it. England smashed 353 and South Africa tumbled at 126/8 so this test match is also going interesting. South Africa is in a precarious position. And all the damage to South Africa was caused by a debutant, Roland Jones. Even after winning the second match comprehensively, South Africa seems to be lacking in confidence.

With blockchain split or not, I am sure the new block structure allowing for more transactions will cause fees to drop, which would be great news, because they have been too high for too long imo.
But in case that happens, you think it will last for long? Will we be able to enjoy small fees like we used to in the good old days for a long period of time?
Transaction fees will drop until the number of transactions increase to fill blocks again. Segwit is a temporary solution. We may be only a few months away from having full blocks again.

India have scored very good and they are right now 540 for 8 wickets , if they score 600 then it will be a good score and in bowling they have to take quick wickets so that they can win this match.
Indians scored exactly 600, and it'll be a tough task Sri Lankans to cross that score in less time. If India manages to take all wickets by tomorrow's day end, then India will be having a huge benefit over Sri Lanka. India batted well in 1st innings they made huge score 600 runs. Dhawan misses a double ton and superb batting from Pujara. in the end Hardik Pandya half century helped India team to score 600 runs. After batsman performance the bowlers did a fantastic job, they took five wickets for Sri Lanka in the score is 154 runs. Now, this match fixed India is going to win. I don't think that SL will come back in this test. Don't use the word fixed instead of certain. It has different connotations. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) India is indeed in a very strong position. They should finish off the Sri Lankan tail in the morning and think about imposing the follow on.

Bitcoin price was already recovered so we don't need to worry now, because it seems that bitcoin was continues raising up and we can't stop that. Moreover I never doubted that bitcoin price was continues bringing down I believe that it will raise up.
This rise is just a bounce back to original levels. Once segwit is implemented and there is less uncertainty, we might see the start of another bull run. $4k might not be too far off if that happens. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Both the teams worked pretty hard, almost like men. But in the end, the best team, England won it. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) That statement is insulting to women, you better be careful. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) India can come out with their heads held high; they were the better team for most of the match but the collapse at the end cost them the world cup.

The DeepOnion "airdrop" is a signature campaign in disguise. You need to have the signature to claim the "airdrop". Also 90% pre-mined.
It seems to be a blatantly open signature campaign. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) They are calling their campaign an airdrop so that it doesn't disappear in the sea of signature campaigns around. It is a clear case of click bait to get users to read their thread.

Yup, a positive resolution of the scaling issues can result in Bitcoin going to the moon. I am not so confident that the fork on August 1st will achieve that. If it does manage to split the community into 2 sizable portions, then we can expect prolonged uncertainty.

You are trying to use wrong avenues to try and sell your algorithm. 300 ETH = 60k USD. People over here try and sell digital accounts for a few cents. Even if your algorithm is actually worth it, it is way out of the league of users of this forum.

South Africa won the 2nd test against England. SA bowlers did the very good job and made England all out just for 133 runs in 2nd innings. It was a very poor performance from home team. They had more team to chase this target but don't know why they played this kind of innings. Anyway, now the series is equal 1-1. Congarts to South Africa.
Yes a lot of credit goes towards the South African bowlers who were able to keep England down. After Cook and Root were dismissed before lunch the game was basically over as these 2 players were the key to England saving this test match but the South African bowlers were able to bowl well and get them out and maintain the pressure which gave England no chance at saving the game. 133 runs is a poor effect for the home team and now the series is tied at 1-1 so it will be an interesting 3rd test to see if England can recover from this poor effect defeat. After losing the first test match, South Africa have given a nice account of themselves. England actually seemed to be trying to chase down the record 474 required to win. That is a tough task against this South African pace attack.

Until you come out with a better metric, market capitalization is going to stay. At least, it gives you an idea of the value of coins in circulation. It can be manipulated, but that doesn't take away its usefulness.

It all depends on how much spare cash you have. This might be a good buying opportunity, but there is risk associated with it. $1900 isn't a level where I would be desperate to get in. However, if I have some spare cash, I might consider buying a few coins.

Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka looks headed for an interesting finish. Zimbabwe managed to scrape a 10 run lead in the first innings, but the Sri Lankan bowlers have hit back in the second innings. If Zimbabwe can set a target of 250, we will have an exciting chase on our hands.
Zimbabwe lead by 262 runs with 4 wickets in hand. A terrific effort from Raza and others. It's a substantial lead already, and Zimbabwe will be looking to take that over 300 tomorrow morning. Yes, the matches are exciting right now with an exciting chase. Zimbabwe have their noses ahead in this match. If they stretch their lead to over 300, then Sri Lanka will find it difficult to chase it down. This is extraordinary, considering that Zimbabwe have recovered from 59/5. This might be Zimbabwe's best chance to win a test match against Sri Lanka.

I think that only hours ago the 2K has already been breached...so in the next few days leading to the end of the month and August 1, many are expecting the value to go down as low as $1500. Hope it would not go further down than that as it would be already hard to see.
Everywhere in the cryptocurrency traders and holders of coins are doing sell, sell and sell. Everybody is having a panic button and this is greatly affecting all exchanges. After August 1, hopefully things can start to get better.
There seems to be some panic after $2k was breached. The price has dropped pretty sharply and $1900 seems to be under threat. Where have all the big buyers disappeared? This is a good buying opportunity for whales.

Many countries simply do so. For example, so did the government of Venezuela. And now in this country is a very big problem. Money lost its value and inflation at a very high level. That's why money can not just be printed and does not provide anything
All countries do this. Printing money results in inflation; printing more money results in more inflation. In the end, the government has to decide what is an acceptable inflation target.
