221  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to lock bitcoin for certain days on: July 04, 2023, 03:53:55 PM
The one that is being discussed here and the one I am about to write below, are these one and the same locking processes for the transactions/bitcoin in the wallet? I mean what is being asked in OP reads out as, I have bitcoins in my wallet which I should be able to lock and I can’t just spend them in any way possible.

However, checkout this article here Locktime Field in a Transaction used for Post-dating.

So just would like to know that whatever explained in the article linked above is related to transactions that we do which can be locked until specific block is mined. I think this is one of the way to do it? We can always send the transaction to our own address and use the method mentioned in the article thus locking it for specified time period.
222  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 04, 2023, 10:08:07 AM
I saw something on a friend of mine iPhone I was amazed, this guy has 3 pieces of bitcoin but he didn't look it when you look at him with mere eyes, I ask him how he has come this far, he told long ego he was seriously investing on all kinds of coins with little amount of bitcoin but then most of those coins help him to realized enough amount to buy more bitcoin because that was his primary target. He normally buys those zero value coins when they appreciates it will be enough money, and that's how he convert and swag all to bitcoin and today, he has 3 piece. Is good to be diversified in your investment, somedays something good will come out of one you don't expect.

A piece of advice is to always research your own coins and then invest your money on them. In your friends case I am not sure how he did it but it seems really blind investment. By just reading your post itself it gives zero to no value to his plans and how he is doing it. I think all you need to do is have a wallet, get yourself bitcoins now and then. As you know very well bitcoin can be bought in small portions called as Satoshi. You can keep buying them now and then with smallest amount possible, let them sit their in your wallet and enjoy the benefits later. Just like you would save your money in the bank, instead of that you can save it in the bitcoin form. The diversification point is good but hell you need to study everything in detail before you can have proper portfolio.
223  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is happening in France? on: July 04, 2023, 08:55:43 AM
I am not sure how can such large protest can happen due to single incidence. Has there been any investigation on how that child was killed? like is there any story which point out that he was deceased accidently during police-criminal fight, or may be as result of missfire etc etc. There could be any valid reason which caused this mass chaos to happen.

Moreover, there is always punishment for every crime that happens within the jurisdiction so definitely the police who did the wrong doing will have to face the charges for what he did.

I don't understand where is the law now and why the emotions are breaking in wrong direction. We are democratic society, we should follow the ethics nd rules to keep it as democratic. Now all these riots and stuff has made the country to go in the wrong direction of jurisdiction. Poorly managed I would say.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seniors vs Kids — in the future of Bitcoin on: July 04, 2023, 08:01:11 AM
We need to be sure about how they will be taught about the bitcoin and what it is in reality. Kids are like flexible moulds that can take the shape and size based on what they are being taught during their childhood. Now we can’t just tell them bitcoin is simply a currency you can and buy and sell over the internet and tell them to love it. That’s not gonna happen for sure. What can actually happen is, have proper channel for them to learn about it through fun way. For example, take any kid they know every hero in the marvel series or other franchise because they read about them through comic books. I think there should be such comic books and cartoons to teach them about it.

Then we can expect them to learn and be future of the bitcoin. And yes I believe they have high potential to run the blockchain in very different way in the near future.
225  Economy / Economics / Re: Has everyone become too pesimistic about the economy? on: July 02, 2023, 04:08:34 PM
Sometimes it feels like everything is political agenda. These type of agenda seem to decrease the economic growth for some time, make the world full of chaos, halt supply chain and create an extreme level of demand within the market. Once they are done with optimum level of shortages just start the supply, create own jobs, businesses and run through nations and multi nations.

The gravity of everything is huge and we would never really understand how it works unless and until it’s an insider job.

If not, then let’s assume we will stand back again and economy will reset (with some other factors if not above). It always does.
226  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad impact when You carry out Online or Offline Loans on an ongoing basis on: July 02, 2023, 03:27:24 PM
Yeah most of the news given here are horrifying and I have also posted one of it in detailed long back ago. The guy literally blew everything that his parents had earned including the pensions saving. Man that was hurtful to see really how people has gone wild in terms of investing money in the crypto currency. It’s really bad idea actually when it comes to buying your crypto with loans. You can’t really buy highly unstable assets with high interest loans with fixed repayment terms and interest on them. Proper should understand the basic math when it comes to investing their money. The only way you can make money from your loan is to invest it into buying something stable and progressional assets for example Real estates etc. I hope everyone keeps it real when making crypto based investment. Smiley
227  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investing and trading in crypto: can make you or mar you. on: July 02, 2023, 01:41:01 PM
Ah well there are people who start now and still make decent amount of money so I am not going to be in dilemma of memes and what others think about the bitcoin really. It has made money to thousands of people who started way later when bitcoin price was way way up as compared to the launch price. If anyone is trained wel in the trading they can just start at any point, grab their profits and make more. Those memes are just from the people who never technically understood the at most importance that Bitcoin holds. On the other hand some of them have really made money just from holding their Bitcoins so imagine the value it holds and supporters it has. I hope everyone just stays opposite to what memes suggest.
228  Economy / Economics / Re: Helpful mineral resources on: July 02, 2023, 01:04:14 PM
The whole thing starts at the heart of your government. That’s why we need to choose perfect government and we need to vote to right people when choosing them. It can literally change the entire face of country overnight. I think it is all about the governing body in the Africa which has not been very fruitful till date. You can literally see that how basic needs of Africans are not fulfilled by your government. Whether it is water, food and decent shelter; nothing is really up to the mark. Some of them are literally die of hunger. So forget about the infrastructure which can uplift the Africas industrialisation. It will take time. People should start thinking in a democratic way to choose their perfect leader and then bring the change within country.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KYC propagation beyond my ownership on: July 02, 2023, 12:32:21 PM
Honestly I have never thought about the Bitcoin transaction like that. I’m not sure how it is possible they will blame you for being the original holder because when you purchased it then it probably came from the exchanger right? So why hasn’t possible that they would also further track from where exchanger got it? Exchangers do not just make the bitcoins out of blue and they will be getting them exchanged in their escrow or on their wallet from the other users of their exchanger. Moreover, whenever you are sending it to someone it doesn’t really prove you are the first hand owner of the same? If that’s the thing then damn I will need to rethink the way I am using my bitcoins.
230  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Biden proposed 30% mining tax. what would impact on Bitcoin mining? on: June 30, 2023, 11:02:31 AM
It doesn't matter. It will anyway get compensated against the company book. For example there are electricity bills, cost of construction, mining maintenance which means employees around the mining farm and their salaries. I think it would be benefit the user in terms of their credit history building as they would be paying high taxes. Moreover this will be only levied once miner sell their crypto currencies. Whenever they will sell the crypto they will profit, they will have expenses to calculate, everything will substract at the end. The nett proceeds is what they will get charged for. The tax slot is huge but it does not mean that it is gonna impact the crypto economy badly. Take an example of Indian tax system. There were the first to levy tax slot of 30%. What is surprising is, this is not only for miners, this is basically for everything you do in association with the crypto. They still use crypto and nothing happened in terms of crypto economy.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship between social media and Bitcoin on: June 30, 2023, 10:35:29 AM
It started from the forums that discussed cryptocurrency’s humble beginnings. Now, it makes headlines on our favorite social media apps. With popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) reaching all-time highs on a regular basis, it isn’t at all hard to believe that these digital currencies are trending.

In reality crypto associated technical talks only happen in the forums. The more technical you want the more relevant forums you should be looking at. Why to go far, just enter yourself in the technical sections of Bitcoin talk, and everything is enough to understand. There is so much knowledge that you always feel yourself distant from it.

While on the other hand, if you study what goes inside social media such as twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook etc., then you will understand how irrelevant they go with their contents and how it is not the place to understand the crypto space. All they do is, publish some content just to get the views and get paid. Some literally go further and talk insane things which attract the crows just to see if it is real or fake. Just choose your media carefully.
232  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Where is Import option for Mycelium Wallet - iOS version on: June 30, 2023, 09:52:07 AM
I have the three dots menu in my Android wallet, but it's possible that it's not available for the iOS version cause it was known for having issues:

This is what happening. I think they have not added the option in the iOS version which is insane. Moreover, the iOS and Android version looks way way different mate. There are bunch of option which are not available on the iOS version. It seem they are not even trying hard to make it more like Android version.

It means it does prove that we don't have any option to import the other wallet using mnemonic phrases OR private key. I only wanted to import new addresses which I have generated using the GitHub bitcoin address generator. I received the transaction on it, and thought to import it whenever I will require the funds. It seems Mycelium is not the option for it.

->

I think I should import this on Electrum over my laptop. Hm.
233  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Where is Import option for Mycelium Wallet - iOS version on: June 30, 2023, 08:08:32 AM
I am not sure what is happening but I have gone through the app multiple times. It happen to be complicated to find the import option anywhere within the app. Am I looking in the wrong direction or the option is not really available in the new version of the app?

After opening the App below are the options which I am seeing right now:
1. Balance Screen: It has the mycelium logo, show main account balance, send and receive option. One other option that can be visible is Cold Storage.

2. Account: This is second screen that is available. It has list of all active accounts. Shows main account and other accounts which I have made earlier. On the same screen as you know we can make new accounts by clicking the + sign. However, after clicking the + sign only new account can be generated there are no advance options or nothing which will take me to import previous wallet.
On Account creation page only these options are available:

  • Label
  • Public Key
  • View transactions
  • Make current
  • Archive Account
  • Delete Account

3. Transactions: Well this is basically third screen with all transaction history.

4. Settings: The last tab within the wallet which has various options to change the wallet features and also has About the app information.
The list of options goes like this:

  • Currency
  • Exchange Rate Provider
  • Invite
  • Back up
  • About

P.S. One of the member told me to go through three dots on the right hand side but it seem there are no three dot option, neither such menu exists in the wallet.

I am definitely missing something. Please point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated. Thank you.

234  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Sign a message through phone on: June 29, 2023, 08:04:29 PM
I couldn't find any possible guide to get your bitcoin private key out of your 12 words multi curreny string of trust wallet and then using it to sign a message [in a safe way] all through your phone.
As long as your mobile phone is online, there is no completely safe way. Any online device is always prone to hacking.

The issue will remain in getting the private key to import the wallet into bluewallet, or it can pull out the btc address out of the trustwallet 12 words string?
It's true that you can't export individual private keys from trustwallet, but you don't need to do so at all. The seed phrase generated by trustwallet is BIP39 and that's supported by bluewallet and many other wallets. Import your seed phrase into bluewallet.

Is there any relation between closed source and open source wallet and only one of them is able to import the private keys or wallet with mnemonic phrases? I mean this option is also not available with the Mycelium wallet for iOS version. I am not sure what is wrong with that app but it's becoming very complicated over the time. Whenever I click on the New wallet addition it instantly creates new wallet, gives me new address and there is just no option at all where I can import external address.

I remember though this used to happen previously a year before or something when I could just enter the private key and my external wallet was imported right away.

I know I am little drifted from the main topic but since it was associated conversation thought to put it here instead of creating entire thread. Shed some light on this too please!

4. Experience your knowledge with Demo Trading: Its a good choice for beginners to trade with the demo funds before investing real funds. It will help to find out the faults of your analysis without losing real assets. It will also increase the experience of a trader. Some sites are offering Demo trading like Etoro , Bybit etc.

This should be prime one when it comes to learning trading. Having demo account gives you unlimited access to the fund and full open market view where you can apply whatever strategy you think is best. You have to lose nothing when you are in the demo mode. You can have your wildest trading strategy applied during this session see if it would work or not.

How it is important? Well in my opinion with demo account and continued use of the same you familiarize yourself to the trading environment and with the time that used too platform wont make you afraid of itself so you can end up making good trades. This is simply because you dont fear it. In normal way many people lose their funds because they have no idea what they are doing, they are afraid about it when it comes to real money investment. So yeah train your dragons in the world of demo accounts and nail it.
236  Economy / Economics / Re: 85% of AI start-ups will fail within 3 years. on: June 29, 2023, 07:01:14 PM
I don’t even know why they made it. We were so happy minding our own business and doing that 9-5 perfectly. Anyways, there is high chance that it will get less popular as we move forward in the future. Even best of the best admirer of technology think that AI are dangerous for the economy. In one of the interview from Elon Musk he himself agreed that AI is disastrous as compared to nuke bombs. We don’t have to be sceptical about this thought because it can always happen. AI is slowly getting injected in every field which means it’s dangerous. So yeah why not, I would like to think that way as well.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gospel Preachers: Is Bitcoin the Last Currency in the World? on: June 29, 2023, 04:28:16 PM
I don’t want to be a breaker of bad news but this won’t happen. What makes us think that Bitcoin will be the last currency? Why there won’t be any other genius like Satoshi who is already making something bigger than Bitcoin (technically cryptographic space) and we will see more revolutionised way to transact. Obviously all of this is as hypothetical as the theory of preacher and there is only one way to prove it all, wait and watch. Smiley
238  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: June 28, 2023, 05:55:37 PM
If it's an emergency then I don't think you should have any second thought on what to sell and what not. Just do the math, how much money is needed by you in this emergency situation and how are you going to pay back the money, what would be the timeline for the same. I think it will make it lot easier to chose the right option for selling. One more thing, as I stated at the start it doesn't matter which one it is if it's an emergency. Now if I were you and if it was any medical emergency then damn, I would let go everything for the safety of my health or my loved ones. There are no second thoughts to it if bitcoin is rising or getting pumped to new heights. You can't get your soul back, you can always earn money, you got whole life for that. Also, this is the main reason why we need savings, and clear thoughts on those savings, like when to use it, what would be the situation when you should prioritize that particular trade etc.
239  Economy / Gambling / Re: 😺 RollCat.io 🚀 Provably Fair 🔒 Crazy Multipliers 🎰 Free Hourly Coins 💰 on: June 28, 2023, 04:38:08 PM
Licensed casino sites have various restrictions and limitations, but unlicensed sites have fewer restrictions and less binding rules. but on the other hand, licensed casinos are much safer, but licensed casino sites are less likely to be scammed or cheated. so it is better to use licensed sites. So it should always be noted where gambling can be done at least in a relaxed way because gambling is for fun and if there is safety confusion then real fun cannot be had.

The majority of the casino now has license so the majority of scam casino has license too like 1xbit and their bunch of sister company that just keep changing brand when bust. Curacao is not that strict on enforcing punishment on scam casino since issue being sent with them is being handle in a very slow process that typically result to nothing.

You’re right that casino license can reduce the possibility of the casino to scam but most of the scam cases here in the forum are from the casino with license too. License is now is too common which scammer is gets too since it’s requirements is just money. I will definitely consider the years of active operation rather than license since time can’t be paid while license can be purchase and get in a short period of time.

I am not sure what is the conclusion for this casino but site looks really simple and old formatted. There are also many unanswered questions from the which and which have already asked above and honestly strikes immediately to the mind once we see the poorly published ANN as well as there is no much information on the website itself. First of all, the only one game on entire site. Man, how are they managing the hosting charges, domain and privacy, that is big question to me. But anyways, let us first come to the real question, has anyone tried the wheel game yet and were able to withdraw/deposit the funds on this site?
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first purchase in btc: the craziest, the most moving, the most expensive on: June 28, 2023, 02:25:28 PM
Nah, I don’t remember to be honest. It was all about yes or no at the time and really came to know about it when my friends introduced me with the Bitcoin. It was that one techie who was all the time over the internet who taught about the bitcoin. Though I already knew the term bitcoin but obviously wasn’t sure about it. So if you ask me the feeling when I bought it, well I was shaky to do it because I wasn’t really sure and prepared for it. I think I would have enjoyed my first bitcoin purchase if I already had deep knowledge about it and how much importance it holds. Anyways now I am full time lover of bitcoin, got myself hardware wallet and I’m a hodler.
