Nice volume and price up from what now looks like a definitive bottom test in spite of BTC rise...
Much more positive.
Not sure if it is the bottom. The price is around $0.4 for about a year now. It is one of the stablest coin in the world. Is this how you feel better about your investment crashing? Justifying it by saying it's been stable in USD? XMR has not been stable. It's been crashing hard. Except for a brief period in the pre-exchange era the price is at all time lows. I'm just sitting here hoping it won't break 0.001 support. If XMR is not going to outperform BTC why not just own BTC instead? If it's USD you want it makes more sense to hold BTC as long as the ratio falls. I'm not going to be happy with XMR at $1, $10 or even $100 if the XMR/BTC ratio crashes. I never watch the USD price, is seems completely irrelevant. A falling XMR/BTC ratio indicates failure to compete in the cryptocurrency space. Lol, your statement is patently false. Everything (all commodities) including BTC are tied to USD. You may have fooled yourself into believing otherwise but that's all your doing is deluding yourself. Not really no. What makes commodities tied to USD? Volume. Once USD is no longer being traded for said commodity, it renders it irrelevant. Now take a look at the volume of monero. It's pretty much all in the XMR/BTC pair, the volume on XMR/USD is almost zero. That makes BTC the most important comparison.

You're only looking at the last two or three months boost in xbt. How does it look compared to a couple of years ago? Not very pretty. We went through a brutal bear market that lasted a year and a half. And where is the rally we're apparently experiencing now going to lead? No one knows. What does that matter though? During a bear market for BTC, with the XMR/BTC ratio holding or falling, the only outcomes are losing USD value as fast as BTC, or losing it faster.

Every altcoin is down against BTC. To me, that indicates the tides are turning, and soon that money will flow back into altcoins. Has that not been the case in every BTC reversal?
I agree, this will happen at some point, but previously it has happened after a longer rally in BTC. So I wouldn't really expect it to happen yet if history is any indication.

Nice collection of AEON mr. Pegasus. With the exception of smooth's donation fund, you may very well be the largest holder at this point. Get those coins into cold storage! I have acquired a decent amount myself with an avg price below 0.00004, I think AEON seems fairly cheap at these levels.

interesting some data length thing? yep i think so. the forum adds this html in between for unknown reason: <span style="width: 0; margin: 0 -0.6ex 0 -1px;"> </span> it also happens if you enter any long string 0123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678 901234567890123456789 That's because a long string without spaces will break the layout. There are no line breaks in a long string. So either one must cut off the string, add a scroll bar, let the string go outside of the div or let the div width be unlimited (which both looks ugly) or just arbitrary cut off and add a space somewhere to get a line break. To get around this you need an element with a scroll bar. Use the code tag for it. exampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexampleexample

1940 unique users is good! Also your post made me notice that i am now legendary Gratz! There has been a massive increase in both hero and legendary members here. I'd guess this is in large part due to forum users "aging" rather than new influx of users, just notice that there has been 0 increase in full members, so there has been a lot moving up to hero

About a year ago I parsed a few topics on bitcointalk to see how many unique users were active and which user group they belong to. Today I did it again for this topic. More dumpity dump?? not really. Try with Bitcoinwisdom. Waiting 0.0016. Is that the price at which you plan to come gloat? It depends on the number of "400k supporting walls" at that time. Where is the 400k xmr buy walls now?? There has never been a 400k XMR buy wall on price level >= 0.001 (not even close) ... It's a shame that I have not caught capture.. In June-July 2015, first 400k xmr buy wall, gone and automatically dumped 70k xmr, remember?? It wasn't a 400k XMR wall. You got the facts wrong.

That said I very much welcome large walls for liquidity sake

Sorry for my laziness ... is ZeroCash actually doing something? Maybe I need to pay more attention.
Ah - early next year. Just did a little reading. Guess time will tell. If it was purely ZeroCash I would expect Darkcoin to get hit too.
Based on that logic you'd expect Darkcoin to crash hard with the inception of Monero. That didn't really happen, which is because Darkcoin is a deception. Its price is inflated by delusions of it's supporters and arbitrary limited supply. It's kind of like a pyramid scheme: even though all rational logic can prove it's a scam believers will hold on to their financial investment until the bitter end. Yes. The hype will eventually die off, but it won't be because a better coin comes along, because the technology behind darkcoin never mattered. It was never about anonymity in the first place. Emotional attachment to an investment drives away rationality and thus you cannot expect darkcoiners to act rational.

Geez ... WTH happened w XMR? I've been focusing on getting my personal shit together - so only have a few K and follow more out of interest.
But wow guys.
Could be as simple as a one or a few people dumping hard and triggering some margin calls. Perhaps someone got nervous for Monero's future in relation to the upcoming zerocash release. Personally I'm invested pretty hard in Monero, but will be looking to pick up more if we're getting closer to 0.001 range. Last time we had a big crash down to these prices we also had a rally soon after. Decent amounts up for grab on ask side

A lot of action over at MoneroDice tonight. User othe ended up with +15480 XMR profit today! At one point he was down -4k and the high was almost 20k.

I've created this webpage with stats for MoneroDice. Makes it easier to see who has won/lost etc. It's experimental and may contain bugs. http://monerodice.pd.to/Everytime a bet is made the list of latest bets will update automatically, same with bankroll/wagered (every 5 sec). How is the profit from that distributed? Can we rush our XMR over to XMRDice's bankroll after the fact, or do only preexisting investors benefit? Is there a rolling window or what? The profit is instantly distributed among those who has invested at the time of the bet. If you were divested at the time, you're out of luck.

83k XMR invested in MoneroDice already, the day after launch. I expect a lot more to be invested in the coming weeks. This is very good news for the monero economy. That's all XMR taken off the market and limiting the supply. Not to mention the added use for XMR. Since dooglus launched just-dice v2 with CLAM the CLAM price is up more than 10x. Although it can't exactly compare, my guess is we'll see a rally taking the price out of the 0.002s at least as people are buying monero to invest.
I used to be an investor at just-dice back in the day, but now I am going to gather funds and invest in MoneroDice.
