sp i woke up today with all my btc from this site have dissapered i didnt have enought to send to my wallet yet but still anyone know what going on?

Huh?

Im pretty sure we have given you "names" you just havent reading.

blockchain.info, as in www.blockchain.info

Or, BTC-E, as in www.btc-e.com

Soooooo, yeahhhh.....

You might wanna check who you're talking to. I was adressing OP's incessant need to talk about "websites" (in this case ' from both websites it says there wasnt any transactions' ) instead of regaling us with the names of these "websites".

Who the fuck is we? You weren't the one that started this thread. And you're the only one that mentioned btc-e, and that was in reply to the op and his posts.

Zanatos and kierstan stop trolling. What's interesting, is that bit777 has identified a bunch of new accounts, with a name and numbers at the end spamming posts that make no sense so they can earn coins for their signature line.... hmmm...

Trolling?  Do you know the definition of the word? I provided answers to, what I thought, was a question about what sites we were referring to.  The only thing that happened is I mistook who he was talking to, and thats my bad.  No one is making an argument for arguments sake so who is trolling?

See? There's the problem again. You're talking about mythical "websites" instead of telling us which websites. It's like calling the doctor by phone and saying "Doctor, when I do this, it hurts!" - "Well, what are you doing?" - "This."

Anyways, I'm pretty sure MtGOX doesn't sell Newegg giftcards.

On the other hand I could be wrong. They were an exchange for Magic the Gathering cards after all. Maybe they diversified.

Im pretty sure we have given you "names" you just havent reading.

Do not use an online exchange like Gox or BTC-E to store your coins, use a wallet (either online or local).  Only once you are ready to sell should you send your coins to the exchange, process your sell, withdrawal your cash, and be done with it.

I do not some who keep a small amount of coins/money on their exchange but its simply for buying and selling as the market fluctuates.  They use a good strong password and they use 2-factor security.  But, they know that its not 100% secure and they could lose what they have their but they have accepted that risk.
224  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: woke up today to find all the btc i was collecting on this site disappered on: July 09, 2013, 07:21:47 PM
IF (and thats a 24pt big IF) you want to store your coins there, invest in a Yubi Key from Gox for 2-factor authentication.  Will also work on Blockchain.info if you choose to store them there which is much more secure.  All good sites offer some sort of 2-factor security.  But, the other safe bet is just a good old school local wallet.
225  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is your Block Erupter acting glitchy? especially if you have more than than one, on: July 09, 2013, 07:17:42 PM
And no offense, that is a newbie move.  Any USB mining device you are running needs to run off a powered hub, thats just a well known fact.

My Jalapeno would crash every two days when I had it plugged directly into my RPi.  Once I moved it to a powered hub (and then eventually just onto Windows of my main machine that never gets shutdown anyway) I havent had a problem.
226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: woke up today to find all the btc i was collecting on this site disappered on: July 09, 2013, 07:14:03 PM
mtgox.com

And another one falls victim to the horrible insecurity that is Mt Gox.

But, why are you storing your coins there INSTEAD of your wallet???  You should be having your mining payouts sent to your wallet, and only send from your wallet to the exchange of your choice (in this case Gox) when you are wanting to sell.
227  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ESET online scanner detects ALL miners as Virus/malware.. ? on: July 08, 2013, 04:06:11 PM
I have the same situation with CGMiner. Bit Defender (probably the best anti-virus ) and G-Data say CGMiner infected. BitDefender according to a study by AV-Comparatives best antivirus for years. I wrote to technical support to see if CGMiner false positives. I said I only Bitdefender version 2.10. not identified as infected. After checking, Bit Defender is version 2.10. marked infected . I received the following response:
Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the delay of our answer.
The analysis of the file has been completed and the detections will remain for
now due to its bitcoin mining abilities.
Please let me know if I can further assist you.
Have a nice day!

Kind regards,
Andrei Onciu
Bitdefender Technical Support Engineer

So anything mining bitcoins is a virus to them  Grin

BFGMiner doesnt flag as a virus for my ESET or anything else.  I am guessing Luke Jr changed around some of that code to correct this problem.
228  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: cgminer with pi again on: July 08, 2013, 03:38:33 PM
have you tried bringing up the cgminer mining screen?

sudo screen -r

If it tells you that there are no screens to connect to (or something of that variation), then no, cgminer isnt mining. If it does pop up, it should show all of your statuses and your accepted and rejected shares coming in/going out.
229  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: help setting up dual 6870 miner. on: July 08, 2013, 03:33:48 PM
Will CGminer run both cards at the same time? or should I use GUIminer?

Cgminer should run both cards. You should only have to put one set of arguments for your overclock for them since they are the same.

ok. That brings me to my next question, how would I go about OC'ing, MSI AB? or catalyst?

fire up cgminer and make sure they are both working first... then you can overclock straight from cgminer.. this is how I run my 5850 and 6850 with cgminer, note that I don't care about noise

--intensity 19 --gpu-engine 850 --gpu-fan 100 --thread-concurrency 7200 --shaders 2880 --worksize 256 --api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1

Thats assuming he is wanting to mine LTC.

I don't follow.  I use those same settings for mining Bitcoin, too... LTC Scrypt is just more profitable right now.

I suppose with those settings its no harm no foul for BTC, but adjusting things like thread concurrency doesnt really yield any results in BTC mining, but doesnt hurt either.

232  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [HOWTO] flash your jalapeno to 8+ ghs on: July 06, 2013, 07:34:37 PM
Are you saying install the cable and add back the heatsink and leave the cable?

Does anyone know if I need all 10 pins? I want to use clips and it would help to skip some.

Yes, put the cable on and then put the heat sink back on. The cable will obviously hang over the edge, but there is plenty of clearance for the heatsink to be out back on to keep the chips cool as they fire up when you plug the unit in.

Do you have a watt meter and could measure the power consumption after the overclock?

I do, but its in another location.  Will have to report back.

Well seeing how I have spent a grand total of $42 on water cooling products on 2 video cards, I wouldn't really consider it wasting money.
why not?  i'd consider 0.01c wasteful

My cards have gone from mid 70s to 40-50's temp range. No running my cards with fans at 80+% just to keep them in the 70's.  It sits under a desk.  Its silent.  I can overclock them and get full gain out of them as much as their chips will allow.  And $42 over TWO video cards.  Not having to deal with noise, re-oiling my fans to keep the bearings from going, dust, replacing a heatsink/fan if it does fail, etc.  How do you consider that NOT a good investment?
235  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [HOWTO] flash your jalapeno to 8+ ghs on: July 06, 2013, 12:50:59 PM
Ok thanks and you have less hw errors?

Yes, but I think part of that was because it was running hotter with the case on. Now that the case is off, and even flashed, it's running cooler than before.
Not sure if you've done it or not, but with the case off, make sure to turn the fan around as well so it's blowing down instead of sucking .

Absolutely did that.

A word of note as something we discovered, if you dont have a JTAG cable and need to use a IDE cable, if your unit is a heatsink unit, and your IDE cable is right angled, you can use your heatsink to keep the chips cool during flashing.  You dont need to even cut the cable, just let it hang over the side, and make sure that the pins match up on your Dragon, which will also have the cable hang off the side.  This will save you from having to hold the back plate on the chips when erasing and programming.

Zanatos what number you put 7 or 9?

Actually runlinux flashed mine for me right after he did his.  We used the pre-compiled firmware from ckolivas so it was simply plug in, erase, reprogram.

OP can you download cgminer and then just run the .exe and follow the prompts to add a pool URL and worker details and see what devices it finds? It's possible it will give you the same error as guiminer but it's worth a shot.

If that doesn't work I think you might actually have some kind of a problem with your AMD driver install or perhaps your BIOS is not up to date. 3 things you can look into!

Also I have been making these comments under the assumption that you are running the cards at their stock settings (core/mem frequency and voltage) be sure to revert to stock if you've been changing them.

after entering all thee needed info, cgminer.exe has stopped working. I have updated the BIOS, and I've uninstalled my drivers and got the most recent for them. ( 13.4 i think )

yes these are being run at stock speeds ( via catalysy, no load, 300/300. " in High-performance mode. " 900/1050

Try older drivers, something in the 12.x series.  I know my 5800 series cards dont do well with anything higher than 11.12 drivers.

~5.8Gh/s to ~8.5Gh/s.  And running even cooler with less HW errors with the case off.  Loving it.
