so cryptopia is still on chain v0.8.5.1-132-g73a4219-beta, did you contact them?

Hi,

we have been unable to compile the new wallet, have spent a week trying, followed all the guides, tried every conceivable Linux version/combination, still never compiles and just returns an error

Code:
  ............
  CXX    libanoncoin_server_a-main.o
main.cpp: In function 'bool LoadBlockIndexDB()':
main.cpp:3109:32: error: 'BlockHashCorrectionMap' has no member named 'reserve'
main.cpp:3177:19: error: 'BlockMap' has no member named 'reserve'
main.cpp: In function 'bool ProcessMessage(CNode*, std::string, CDataStream&)':
main.cpp:4135:18: warning: unused variable 'fFromChanged' [-Wunused-variable]
main.cpp:4659:24: warning: comparison between signed and unsigned integer expressions [-Wsign-compare]
make[2]: *** [libanoncoin_server_a-main.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/anoncoin/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/anoncoin/src'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Any ideas?

Hi,

I have never seen this error before. Also there is nothing about the errors at 3109 and 3177 that I can find on the net about bitcoin.

Thus I tried to compile it again in a Mint 17.1 VM, after erasing all data and following https://wiki.anoncoin.net/How_to_build_Anoncoin_from_source#Ubuntu_64_bit_or_Debian_8

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install g++ git automake
sudo apt-get install autoconf make libtool pkg-config libqt4-network libqtgui4

No problem with those. I did not execute this line: sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev  git libdb++-dev libssl-dev

Code:
cd
git clone https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin.git
cd anoncoin
./autogen.sh
cd depends
make -j`nproc`

I had an issue here with retrieving the libboost library from anoncoin.net... 404 not found ... had to retry 3 times then it downloaded it correctly.

Code:
dir
cd ..
./configure --prefix=`pwd`/depends/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
make -j`nproc`

No issues, anoncoind, anoncoin-qtc and all others were built correctly.

It seems your issue is occuring at the very early stage of the last make -j`nproc`.

Did you have any problem with the former make? During the build of the toolchain? Maybe the toolchain conflict with your dependencies?

BTW as a reminder, block 555555 is in 9 days so the hardfork will occur very soon, everybody shall update ASAP!

Ok, so the problem will be the anoncoin.net link, why is it contacting anoncoin.net for libboost?

Our wallet servers are locked down and cannot contact external sites, is this a custom build of libboost?

if this is a custom build can you please direct me to the source code so we can review it? I am not keen to download unreview code onto our wallet server.

Thanks

Code:
Insider trading is the trading of a public company's stock or other securities (such as bonds or stock options) by individuals with access to nonpublic information about the company. In various countries, some kinds of trading based on insider information is illegal. This is because it is seen as unfair to other investors who do not have access to the information, as the investor with insider information could potentially make far larger profits that a typical investor could not make.

What stock are we trading, I am confused.

Are we trading cryptocurrency or stocks.

If we are trading cryptocurrency the only laws that apply are those that have been introduced recently regarding crypto.

is this right?

"A security is a tradable financial asset. "

So, yes, Any judge would rule that ETH is a security of the Ethereum Foundation, as with Slock.it and the DAO.

You can't fuck around will billions of dollars of peoples money and expect people not to notice.

The banks have been waiting for a good excuse to shit all over crypto, and now we just handed it to them on a silver platter.

I always knew greed would kill crypto, no one gave a shit about making crypto adoptable, all they care about is the fiat dollar value they can place on their coin, stupid

Hard Fork recovery:
"The timeline for such a scenario would be relatively short; 1–2 weeks to implement and test the hard fork code and then another week for the community to update their clients. So after 3 weeks the refund process for all DTHs could start and everyone would get 100% of their ETH back in a guaranteed fashion."

Targeted Soft Fork recovery:
White Hat DAOs (7,630,479 ETH) in 38 days
Dark DAO (3.64 mil ETH) in 71 days
Small Dark DAOs (Huh ETH) in 71 days
Extra Balance (344,907 ETH) in 14 days

Im not sure on the accuracy of these dates.
I have been reading alot and i think its now time to hardfork and end all this.
The hardfork will bring many updates which will make ETH much stronger than it has ever been.

is there a link that shows what the hf or sf will implement?
and do we know who will code this now ?

I believe this is the soft-fork implementation

https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/pull/2715/commits/0bab00ab697b3a37af52d5908ebe799c9fbdbb9e

They added a generic blacklist, so they can add more transactions that they deem unwanted or suspicious in the future, so at any point they could decide you contract is unwanted and block miners from processing it.

Code:
	IllegalCodeHashesFlag = cli.StringFlag{
Name:  "illegal-code-hashes",
Usage: "Comma separated list of code-hashes to ignore any interaction from",
}

but its ok, cause the called it a whitelist in code, so its no longer a blacklist, right?

Code:
	daoHash   = common.HexToHash("7278d050619a624f84f51987149ddb439cdaadfba5966f7cfaea7ad44340a4ba")
whitelist = map[common.Address]bool{
common.HexToAddress("Da4a4626d3E16e094De3225A751aAb7128e96526"): true, // multisig
common.HexToAddress("2ba9D006C1D72E67A70b5526Fc6b4b0C0fd6D334"): true, // attack contract
}

LMAO

wow thats shocking
is slockit involved in the coding ?
and why do we not ask who is the so called attacker ?

No, Slock.it are not fixing it, why when their main investors (ETH) that control the network will do it for free to save the marketcap.

I guess the Swiss have WAY different laws than other counties, cause in New Zealand this would be pretty much illegal as it would be considered insider trading.

This is the reason Cryptopia had to delist it, as it could cause unwanted regulation and possible account seizure in their country.

If we don't vote they will add LISK either way.
LSK has too much volume.
Voting is for shitcoins.
Come on poloniex & bittrex added LSK on day one.
Cryptopia just wants fools to pay them bitcoins!
Fuck them and their votes.

Noted.

I still don't understand why ETH is helping a 3rd party software team to recover funds THEY lost due to lack of testing/unit testing

This tells me 1 thing.. ETH considers the marketcap of their project to be more important than adoption/principals of their platform, simple really

This decision is entirely based on money, yes money, fiat, that thing we are trying to replace with crypto is swaying the decisions of crypto now.

Everyone seem to be mentioning how much $USD they lost, how much BTC they lost or will lose, no one seems concerned that ETH is the first crypto to implement blacklists

Will the blacklists stop at transaction(s), or will it extent to addresses, countries, ip's, political parties???

ETH took BTC and turned it into FIAT, Awesome work.
I think you dont understand is that ETH is still in development and changes like this must be made now to make ETH stronger and more secure for the future.

ETH is not broken is it?, I thought DAO lost the ETH, Are you saying ETH is broken?

Tell me why ETH is involved in a 3rd party software losing ETH, why are they recovering ETH for someone that lost it, will they recover mine if I lose my ETH wallet, or do I have to have a certain % of ETH to apply for the ETH refund shceme.

If I lost my ETH, tough luck, If I lose enough ETH to impact the marketcap, rollback, hardfork and refund.

Rich get rich, poor get poorer, BankCoin
tbh im not explaining this to anyone now, its basically your opinion vs mine.
ETH is at a gd price, if you have some and are not happy...sell, goto fiat or btc or take a chance on another alt
ETH will continue doing what it feels is best for its community while in development.
By voting a fair chance is being given to everyone to decide what to do next.  http://ethpool.org/stats/votes

This is the entire problem, WTF does price have to do with anything, you are also are motivated by greed.

I never cared about the price, I was excited about creating an autonomous company, but since I cant guarantee it will be their forever and cannot be changed, I need to search for a blockchain similar that offers guaranteed immutability, I cant have my smart contract disappearing and my funds lost because I got soft forked out of existence.

"The majority of the miners did not like your contract, so not its not processed by the network" Awesome

None of you care about the ETH platform and what it could be, you all care about trading and making money.

Sad and depressing.
Price doesn't matter to me, its for people who maybe un happy with the direction ETH goes in...
ETH is still being created , maybe if you wait until its actually complete you will get what you want.

If they can change my contract via soft fork and miner pressure, I cant trust the contract to run as I design it, so no, this softfork proves the one unique thing ETH has is useless.

I think this is the part we are conflicting with, forget the DAO, forget the money, forget the "attacker", the softfork is changing the behavior of a contract, if this is not motivated by money, then they are just changing a contract in a way in which it was not designed.

Sure it had a bug, but that's not ETH's problem, the DAO should have tested their software better, the DAO GAVE the funds to the contract user though their own incompetence, now they want it back.

It became ETH's problem when they all panicked about the damage the 3millon ETH could do to the price of their currency

That is the issue I have with the soft fork, also the way they implemented the "fix" by adding a generic blacklist so any other "mistake" contracts can me added makes it impossible to trust unless you own more than 51% of the mining.

But like you said, we have totally different opinions of the impact of the suggested forks, because IMO if the "attacker" dumps that is ETH redistribution, the price (for the people that care) will recover, but removing the immutability of smart contracts invalidates the entire point of smart contracts, therefore you just have a coin with some extra features that can be used for games etc, it can never be trusted for any financial applications if it can be changed by the ETH network due to personal opinions.

Why is everyone ignoring the fact ETH has just added a blacklist to the currency as some kind of "fix" to a 3rd party smart contract.

Are people really that naïve to think that this blacklist wont be exploited by political of financial bodies.

Why is ETH even getting involved in a 3rd party software bug, especially with something as controversial as a hardfork.

Now every smart contract developer can ignore BASIC UNIT TESTING and just deploy contracts cause if anything goes wrong the ETH centralized network will just add that contract to their blacklist too.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 19, 2016, 09:13:15 AM
This seems pretty simple to me.
Decentralized crypto-currencies are all about consensus.
Vitalik suggested a hard fork rollback.
The majority seem to want it...that's consensus!

Now roll it back.

Note - I was not affected by this DAO/ETH situation.

You go into the casino and win legally 50 Million with a new technique.

Not the true story, true story:

A crew of people invest 150 Million into a new casino with all new technique, someone finds a flaw in the code and cheats out 50 Million of the casino...

What to do ? Of course roll back, fix the code, and "restart" the new technique casino...

You didn't understand the image... the new technique was not the blockchain... but the different call of the contract by the attacker...

That still doesn't change anything on the situation

Not sure adding a transaction blacklist incase it happens again was the smartest move

https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/pull/2715/commits/4fca3a7c4cb193b505cf9ba57b42c66adbd37868

Now they can do this whenever a smart contract does not do what the contract dev expected, seem dangerous to me

I must admit I have been skeptical of Cryptopia, I suppose I still am of all exchanges... Just less so of Cryptopia today Smiley

If math is no longer in control, it ceases to be a cryptocurrency.

By the way, any plans of an instant exchange like safecex had? (The ability to buy/sell directly without making an account, improves anonymity, similar to shapeshift)

Yeah, Instant exchange is on the roadmap.

We just secured funding from a new angel investor to pay me for full-time development for a 1 year,

I start full-time on Cryptopia in 6 weeks, considering what I have done so far has been in my spare time things will really start to change around the site this year.

Merge Mining, Multipools, AutoSell, Instant Exchange, Escrowed MarketPlace and many other features... its gonna be awesome.

Can't say I blame you. I thought these same reasonings, as well as others, about..what was that other premined blockchain with billions of coins..ah yes, Ripple.
Don't like the idea behind that one. I thought better of Etherium but these recent happenings don't look too good.
Too much to catch up on for me these days.

UNO is going to continue to stay strong.

BTW Adam, lol, I stopped by that FLY thread. Oh boy....

As always, UNO loves the Cryptopia markets, and thank you for the heads up.

When he started deleting all the posts of proof that he was actively trying to extort money off us I knew there was no point continuing with his drama,

He literally tried to pull a scam off live on BCT against Cryptopia, got caught out, we proved it, and all his users still follow him, I actually don't understand.
Anyway, his I.Q is higher than 99.6% of the worlds population according to him, so maybe that's why I don't understand his logic.

Anyway, Cryptopia loves UNO, Loves the support UNO provides, and we are here if or whenever UNO needs anything Smiley

Thanks
