How many Members ranked up after implementation of the Merit system and their rank.
like 15000 ranked up as Jr. Member, 5000 ranked up as Member etc
The number of members with negative trust.
like 2500 Legendary have negative trust etc
Total number of banned members
like Forum have 250 banned legendary members, 500 banned hero members etc
Is that anyhow possible to get these stats?

Okay. Here is a conclusion that can be drawn from all the posts above. Cons 1. People work harder to spam and then report them at the same time to earn merits. 2. Someone said "we can award merit to top reporters" but in that case, spammers try their best to be in the top. Pros 1. Most pros ultimately lead to cons. I don’t think successful reports should receive a merit for a single report. This is similar to you will not receive merit for every “good” post you write.
With the above being said, I think it might be appropriate for someone who is fairly active in reporting who is struggling to rank up due to a lack of merit to receive sufficient merit to rank up (maybe without the corresponding sMerit, or less than the normally expected amount) as a reward for helping reduce rule violations, which is ultimately what merit is trying to do.
In that case, spammers try their best to be on the list by cleaning their own shit. This won't work, because then you'll see teams of account farmers--half the team will be writing shitposts to get reported, and the other half will be reporting those posts. It probably would be an extremely easy way to game the system, plus it would have a negative effect on the forum overall. I think the system is just fine the way it is. Everyone here is impatient, but we're not quite 3 months into it yet. It's going to take some time to wear these spammers out. How about we just stop being so desperate for merit points instead?
Yep, there's that. But as long as spammers are incentivized by sig campaigns, it's not going to stop. Yeah, that is highly possible and the result will be disastrous for the forum.
I agree with most of the thought that system can be easily cheated by the whole new concept. It will only lead to the wastage of resources and previous approach to stop spammers. I thought for a while that it will be good but after discussing the matter with all of you, it is clear that there will be more cons than pros. Thanks for participating. |

I think merit points can also be awarded for reporting spam posts.
Like for every successful report, you get a merit point from the system.
By reporting spam, the members not only help clean the forum they also gain something and that will keep them motivated.
I know there will be some pros and cons on that too, we can discuss them here. This suggestion surely needs some discussion.

No one willing to lend even a penny without collateral. you need to understand people can't risk even small amount. If they starting lending even very small amount to new accounts without collateral they will end up losing big amount in the end. I'm sure we won't see 99% of users again. |

Haha i thought of this before, this guy will go over the limit and going rampage and suspect anyone of merit abusing. Come on 1993jochico, your merit abusing accusation to SM23031997 is kinda funny, if you really want to suspect people, please give valid and enough evidence rather than just seeing to other person merit. So what if anyone gives 20 merit to a post? I got 20 from QuestionAuthority and a lot of people got +20 from him/her, so you would suspect him/her giving merit to his/her alt account by using a giveaway method too???

Dont compare your 20 from QA its an event reward and you deserve it. I can clearly see that QA's event is legit unlike the link on this OP. I know that all of us can notice the real and fake events. EDIT: I just want to add sir that he twice send 20 merit to his alt in one day. System says "You have soandso sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people. There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future." That day I found a guy who deserves a rank up. So, I helped him. Interestingly he never came up with a new post and hence never received merits from me. Most of the time these kinda post come from legendary members who don't need a rank up. Still, I Have 30 sMerit left and love to send them in bulk but for that, I need someone who deserve them. |

Does merit abuse isnt an extreme condition? Because for me merit abuse is an extreme condition, the system is introduce to reduce spam and eliminate farmer accounts. Yes, we want quality but we also want to reduce spammers and farmers. Or... you are just not considering it because you once done it?  Sorry for this but most of the time I check the profiles of those who are replying on my post. Do you think that was the abuse of merit system? If yes, think twice before you speak again. I don't think any explanation is necessary in that case. |

Hi all. I was reading about all the merit related topics for some time, for the obvious reason.
I found there is such a thing as merit abuse, when highly merited users create alt accounts and give them merit, trade merit or exchange merit back and forth.
Wouldn't it be cool to treat merit as a sort-of-currency and a "meriting" as a transaction which requires some fee? Say, to give 10 merit you need to pay 1 merit fee and this fee is going to be destroyed?
What you think guys?
The current merit system is good and it will be much more effective with time as the number of merit sources increase. Merit point should not be used as currency as it will lead to more offenders. |

Not know why but i did sell all my alts today. And bought Tron TRX for them all. Now i hold a nice amount of TRX  MC is down to 280b today and the market not going anywhere soon. So i decided to buy the hype around TRX and move all my $ to this coin. Know this can be risky but if the price go up just a few cents i will make a nice profit. Let's see it with a different perspective if the price goes few cents down you make a bad loss. Isn't you? I'm not demoralising you but the move could be a wrong one as the Tron have very high circulating supply and price can go down more than you can ever think. And moving from 3-4 options to only one option isn't a good move at all. |
