I'm not sure what you could offer that Buttcoin.org doesn't already I mean, he already grabs the finest this forum has to offer. 1. After a quick skim of buttcoin, it appears that the posting frequency is roughly once a week on average. I'm aiming for at least once a day on average. 2. Anyone can contribute! Anyone who wishes to post an article can email me at bestofbitcointalk@gmail.com to join the writing team! Those wishing to keep fairly up-to-date with the goings-on in the bitcoin community, but not have to dig through the forum, will find bestofbitcointalk.com extremely useful!

Still looking for writers?
As far as I can tell there will be room for more writers for a long time. Please email bestofbitcointalk@gmail.com for more info. I'd love to have you on the team! The idea of this is to summarize threads on bitcointalk.org? Is that right?
That is correct. The whole point is to write short, sweet, and to-the-point articles on current threads that are important to the bitcoin community.

I’d basically crowd-fund the website and ensure that writers write good content. The better the article, the more chance that someone will tip them!
Yeah, in FantasyWorld. What's to stop the Scam of the Moment from "funding" a smattering of pro-scam, opinionated articles? All of the articles go through me first. I'm not giving anyone else access to posting on the website. If someone wants to spread pro-scam messages, they'll have to be pretty sly about it, because I'll be reading every article first before I post it. As for opinionated articles, that is part of the point of bestofbitcointalk.com. Writers submit articles based on current threads that summarizes them, and offer their opinions on the topic. Pro-Scam I will not allow, but I certainly won't stop someone from voicing their opinions.

Hmm.... do the transactions have to be confirmed?
Cause if it comes down to the wire, and I put more in at the last minute... does it count?
Also, 12 hours is much to long in my opinion. Other time slots should be available as well, down all the way to 10 minutes. But that's just my opinion.
Sounds fun! Also, Do you have to be ahead for 12 hours straight, or be ahead at the end of 12 hours?

Hello everyone! If you would like to write for BestOfBitcoinTalk, please visit this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=290503.0The following is posted on www.bestofbitcointalk.com to describe how the idea came about.... The idea behind Best Of BitcoinTalk popped into my head at 3 AM one morning. After browsing the BitcoinTalk.org forum for several hours that night/early morning I realized that I had spent a lot of time reading, but had absorbed very little of what was actually going on in the community. It was then I decided that it would be great if there was some way to sift through all of the idle chatter and only read about the significant events. I thought to myself “Yeah that would be great, but how on earth could that happen?”. I decided that there must be other people out there like me. So I thought why not review the threads myself and summarize them, give my take on them, and post them to a website? Well that sounds good, except I could probably only write 1 article a day on average. And a lot happens on the BitcoinTalk forum. Way too much for just one person to cover. So I decided that I would have to get more people on-board. I heard a Let’s Talk Bitcoin Podcast that talked about a Bitcoin tipping widget, that allows readers to tip for content they enjoyed. Since I do not have much capital to begin with, I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I’d basically crowd-fund the website and ensure that writers write good content. The better the article, the more chance that someone will tip them! Long story short, I started this website for those of us like me, who want To-the-point articles, on important topics without having to sift through heaps of uninformative posts.

Great idea, looking forward to seeing the project develop!
What kind of license will these be released under? I would like to run important ones at letstalkbitcoin.com and would of course embed the authors tip address in our system
Mindtomatter what an honor it is to speak to you! I listen to every episode of your podcast, basically the day they come out! Thank you for the question. I'd love to hear your suggestions. This license is what I'm considering right now: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/But as I am new to licensing, I am curious; can I license the entire website? Or must I license each article individually? As for allowing you to run some important ones on letstalkbitcoin.com, I would be happy to! Of course as long as you do not alter the articles in any way. Including the tip widget for the author, and the website.

Hello all. I need some writers (hopefully at least 5) to write posts for my new website BestOfBitcoinTalk.com The articles will basically be summaries (in the writers own words of course) of significant threads here on the BitcoinTalk forums. The point is to keep articles short and sweet, and relevant to recent events happening here on the BitcoinTalk forums. Writers will be required to present their opinion on the thread, as well as a suggestion or two for the Original Poster, or other posting member. For example: A good article would summarize the thread's Original Post in 200 words or less. Then the writer would add a summary of the other posts that add value to the conversation in 200 words or less. Then the writer would give his opinion on the topic, and any suggestions the writer has for the Original Poster, and other members. The posts must be of good quality to be accepted. A post that covers a "Troll thread" or that bad-mouths any user of the forums will not be considered to be of "good quality" The posts will be crowd funded. Readers will have the option to use a tip widget to tip writers for posts they enjoyed. As this website is just getting off the ground, I'm offering 0.025 BTC for each article that meets my criteria, and gets published on the website, for the first 10 articles. Each article will still of course be able to be given tips for, so 0.025 BTC is not necessarily all an article will earn. You (as a writer) can earn up to 3 of the first article bonuses, but you can submit as many articles as you want! If you would like more info, or would like to join the team of writers, please email me at bestofbitcointalk@gmail.com, PM me here, or reply to this thread. If you would like a faster response please email me, I get them sent to my phone.

Sad to see that updates are neccessary, but glad to see neccessary updates come out
+1 It can be troubling that "bugs" or "vulnerabilities" are there, but at least they are found! We're all only human anyway.

Hello, I want to buy 100, but when I get to the BitPay invoice, the total is 2.212 BTC. That's more than the website said the grand total would be. I'm going to go ahead and pay that, but I would really appreciate a refund for the difference. I remember the Grand total was under 2 BTC. I can't remember exactly what though. 1.97... seems to ring a bell... Anyways, please get back to me. EDIT: went back and took a screenshot: http://s11.postimg.org/4n3678o9v/Screen_Shot_2013_09_03_at_6_42_11_PM.pngThis is an issue I haven't figured out what to do with yet. The website price uses mt gox (current price is $145), but the payment system through bitpay uses coinbase (current price is 145). For such a big order, I'll throw in a gift for ya My thanks, Dob. Now there's some suspense!
