221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gold and Bitcoin Segwit2X HF on: October 10, 2017, 04:02:27 PM
Bitcoin Gold will start oct 25 but we know Bitcoin Segwit2X HF in november. So is it same or not?

They are different based on what I've read. But I don't really get it why should there be another fork to think that it's only 2 months ago since the last fork. And now there will be 2 hardforks! What will be the effects of these two, I don't know but hopefully it will have positive impact to btc hodlers.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates Praised the Bitcoins on: October 10, 2017, 03:42:57 PM
Bill Gates has praised the bitcoins, it is a big thing for the bitcoin community. More such personalities should openly support the bitcoins which will help to gain the trust and popularity among the common people.

Check it out here    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4APj2cgjJo&feature=youtu.be

People like Bill Gates who sees and understands the importance of bitcoin are the ones who people should listen to. We know how his words will impact people especially those who still have doubts in investing to btc. And I agree that more influential people who understand btc and its potential to come forward and support the community for the welfare of everyone who believes in btc and the cryptocurrencies as a whole.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: October 10, 2017, 08:48:29 AM
Though it's not surprising that btc is used in various crimes, we can't change the fact that it's not good for the reputation of btc. But then again, crimes are already present way before bitcoin was created so we can't do anything about it. I'm just glad that the governments are using all they can do to apprehend those big time criminals who are involved in laundering, cybercrime and drug trafficking. Good thing they can track bitcoin allegedly used in crimes with the help of cryptocurrency experts. But I know crimes involving btc cannot be eliminated and criminals can always find other means to continue their crimes.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I lost 95 Bitcoin on: October 10, 2017, 06:21:48 AM
As I've said before, hopefully this will serve as a lesson for readers to be mindful of computer security and take preventive measures. This post will definitely help steer people to be more cautious. There is a tendency to underestimate the capabilities of hackers.

I agree with you. Sometimes people tend to neglect to take preventive measures which make them an easy target by the hackers. I hope that other people will not experience this circumstance before taking time to secure their coins. It's painful that we have to be a victim first before taking precautions that will totally cause devastation to us. No matter how little or huge the amount of our coins the first thing we should keep in mind is security so that in the end we will not regret anything. We worked hard to earn those coins so we shoukd also work hard to keep them safe.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Schools Are Officially Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition on: October 09, 2017, 06:31:00 PM
Universities are embracing accepting bitcoin for tuition, with Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland the latest school to adopt. If anything, it's another clear sign the cryptocurrency is here to stay.

https://futurism.com/schools-accepting-bitcoin-tuition/

Even so... Bitcoin has been used to buy homes, and countries like Venezuela and Vietnam are beginning to truly embrace the currency. Now, certain universities are adopting the payment method of bitcoin for tuition, albeit with a few caveats.

And I am officially being left out with this kind of news. Just earlier I've read and posted on a thread asking if schools/universities will start accepting btc as tuition fees and I said no although possible. Then here it is, I am reading about a school who did just that. Events involving btc sure is faster than I thought. The acceptance though is wide enough but I'm still amazed with this kind of news. Maybe tomorrow I'll be reading news and announcement of btc being accepted in gas stations?
226  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: October 09, 2017, 05:46:02 PM
No way we can determine the exact amount of btc that are lost forever. But I think it's quite a lot because if we will think of the scenarios how btc will be lost we can come up with a handful. One is of course forgotten private keys and/or death of the owner. Btc sent to non-existing address (correct format but nobody owns it) can also be one of the reasons. Though there is a possibility that someone mighy own it in the future but the probability is very low. There are other reasons and the amount of btc in those wallets varies so there's no way of telling it.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price is increasing AGAIN on: October 09, 2017, 05:04:52 PM
I have noticed the greater rate of increase in the past two weeks. I always trusted bitcoin that it can recover fast from any fall of its price. What do you think? It is good to invest today? And what are your expectations about its price before the year ends?

Well, seems like we're really close to 4700 so I guess it's safe to expect 5500 to 6K tops by the end of this year. You should invest right away before it reaches that point for you to not miss any opportunity. We're talking about btc here and we know that once it started going up it goes all out. If we sleep tonight, tomorrow it'll have additional increase and that's how fast btc is so buckle up and enjoy the ride fellas!
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to get to $5,000 before end of this week! on: October 09, 2017, 12:37:43 PM
I have seeing a very strong buying signal across most of the exchangers platforms and I think $5000 is already at hand.  Currently bitcoin's price is at $4607 and if we get another serious push again we may break the resistance at$4950 area. I have also See MACD and relatively strength index showing a very strong bullish momentum.
I don't think so. That's indeed something to look forward to but, Bitcoin is still recovering from the downfall which happened recently and given the fact that the hardfork is approaching, so dumps are also expected. Maybe after the hardfork pumps will be continuous and will make Bitcoin break the 5000-dollar mark before this year end and unfortunately, not this week or month.

I have to agree with you that we won't be seeing the 5K mark by the end of this week. Although it seems possible, but I think it's a little bit hopeful statement. I am expecting 5K on as early as end of the month but not later than 2nd week of November. And yes, we should also consider the coming fork to come. I'm not sure how will that affect the market but I am hoping for the best and that like what happened after the August hardfork same thing will happen after this oncoming fork and that is to reach another ATH.
229  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC as a national currency? on: October 09, 2017, 11:06:18 AM
So as far as we know BTC currency is growing wide, do you think there will be when it become a national currency? If yes, why?If not, why?

There's no chance btc can become a national currency. Why? It's because first of all, there are the banks who would protest and of course the government will definitely won't allow it. The threat of money laundering is always present with btc and that will always be the case that the govt will reason out. And besides they have no power over btc. They cannot control it and iy can also be used by politicians who don't wish to share their net worth most especially if they are involved in illegal transactions.

231  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Surges Above $4400 As World Realizes Jamie Dimon & China Don't Matter on: October 08, 2017, 06:04:24 PM
The only reason why bitcoin price drop so hard is because when people heard that china is banning ICO's and caused panic so a large group of traders immediately sell their bitcoins without thinking that this might be a good chance to buy more cause this is completely normal cause even other resources doens't always rise high but sometimes takes a dip. The funny part is most of these people are new investors, this jamie whoever he is nothing but a con artist telling people that its a fraud everyday while he tried bitcoin when its in a dip.

And remember, Jamie stated that his daughter has bitcoin. LOL.

Then maybe Jamie just wants to be the greatest dad ever. Never minding what people will say about him as long as he can contribute to the dip so that his daughter can purchase at a lowest price possibe. And so we shouldn't be so hard on him afterall. Lol! But seriously, we should still be thankful to him we had the opportunity to invest more during the dip just like his daughter. Grin
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin loss? on: October 08, 2017, 05:13:50 PM
One thing always came on my mind when I entered the world of Bitcoin.
Fiat are issued with registered numbers and recycles in the name of new currency, making the old obsolete.
i.e. They never get destroyed even if the physical notes gets burned and decayed.

But bitcoin are totally different, they can be lost
- sending to unsupported address
- loosing private keys
- people dying with private keys, etc.
Which will keep on decreasing the total available supply of the coin. making it more scarce.
Won't that bring a problem the the economics, no coins left to trade situations?

Sending btc to unsupported or invalid address due to typo is very unlikely because your wallet will detect an error so there will be no transaction created. And nowadays people are very careful not to lose their private keys. If you have thousands of dollars worth of btc in your wallets I don't think you're not gonna make multiple backups for your keys. You're stupid if you didn't.

"People dying with private keys." This statement is quite confusing but I assume you're saying that people who have btc wallets, with btc in it, unfortunately dies and no one even in his family knows his private keys. I think this situation is possible to happen but I don't think it's big of an issue. And that in my opinion it won't be a problem.
233  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: October 08, 2017, 07:56:39 AM

It's weird how people won't toss out just a few dollars to help someone in need, yet they'll spend $10000 or more on their pet that has an average life span of under 5 years.

It's weirder that you think people will easily toss out their dollars which they worked hard for. Instead of tossing penny to them, it's better if you offer them a job or any other ways to help them rebuild their lives. If you offer them money you're just tolerating their mindset of being a lifetime beggar and dependent than to find ways to live. There's a saying that there's money on trash so why not just do that? Start collecting junks that can be sold to a junkyard if they really have no way of finding a job.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is it better to invest in bitcoin or ethereum ? on: October 08, 2017, 07:16:00 AM
for long term purpose, which is better to invest in , Bitcoin or Ethereum ? Lets discuss that ..

Moneywise, I think that it is preferrably to chose eth. Btc price right now is more than 10x of that of eth so it's kinda hard to acquire 1btc than 1 eth. And I think eth have also a lot of potentials in the near future and besides it is btc's close rival that many people acknowledge that it can possibly surpass btc sometime in the future.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ? on: October 07, 2017, 08:58:51 AM
Bitcoin is growing very powerfully but in this present scenario which factors can destroy or make its market value Zero.

I think it will take everyone of us who hold btc to destroy it. What I'm saying is if all of us gave up btc, which is very impossible, then that might cause btc's demise. But as long as there's still people who support btc even if there's just a handful left, btc will still survive. Another factor might be internet and electricity blackout and I'm talking about worldwide and permanent here not just a temporary one on certain areas.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BItcoin end or destroy in this month?? on: October 07, 2017, 08:15:13 AM
I donot understand what are going to on bitcoin?Bitcoin dumping  and dumping Shocked Shocked. Now bitcoin under 3600$ i think in this week its going to under 3000$.China can destroy bitcoin or ended this month. What your predict ?

Guess what, it's a new month already after your nonsense worries over bitcoin's end. Yet here we are still holding our coins and even got back to where we were before China pulled out support. Even though btc started to dip and ended at around $3K last month I wasn't at all nervous. I didn't panicked because I told myself that btc will get back to its track and that I will only worry if we fell back to $1K and below because that will be serious and it will take time for btc to regain its value. I'm glad we didn't came to that.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcons are just empty numbers on the internet without any value or legal power on: October 06, 2017, 02:00:42 PM

Bitcoins on the other hand, don't have value on their own, and if nobody wants to accept them in exchange for dollars, goods or services, no legal action can be taken by their 'owners' to get some kind of value out of them. As such, Bitcons are just empty numbers on the internet, which means that people are exchanging real values for literally nothing.

If my analysis is correct, I think that the same can be said to money. If nobody wants to accept them they are just pieces of paper with numbers, places and faces of known person in them. Everything in this world can lose its value if no one acknowledge it and that includes money not just bitcoin. We know that btc is valueless when it started but then people started realizing its value thus making it valuable to people like me. I just hope you're not one of those people who speak rudely of btc then later on purchased and invested in it.
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the week we see the $4500? on: October 06, 2017, 12:33:32 PM

I think October is going to be a good month and rally back to $5,000 overall on the stock exchange and economy is booming at the moment.

That's right I agree with you on this one. As of this moment we're at 4400 and will go up to 4500 within the week. That means we're getting closer to 5K again and if we are really lucky this month we might have  new ATH. Let's just keep on hoping and holding our coins and maybe invest a little more for that to happen. Whatever other countries and known personality do to damage btc's reputation we know that it will still thrive and continue to be the best ever crypto.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if another altcoin surpasses BTC in value? on: October 05, 2017, 04:58:24 PM
What will you do if some altcoin (XMR or ETH for example surpasses the value of BTC, either in market cap or by the price of a token each? Will you sell your BTC to buy the more "valuable" coin, or continue using and holding BTC? Also, what do you think are the chances that it could happen? I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions.

I'm not gonna sell my btc due to the reason that an altcoin surpassed its value in any sense. Everything is possible and will likely happen depending on the circumstances so there might be a chance that an altcoin took btc's place. Don't hate me on this I'm just an open minded person. So, let's say that it actually happens I'll continue investing in btc and invest with the said altcoin using my money instead of having to sell btc. In that case, I will have more investments in various coins.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If no one spends bitcoin what might happen? on: October 05, 2017, 02:33:57 AM
Share your ideas here.   Grin

In my opinion, I think we will be stuck in one price or maybe worse we will all go down.

Here is what happened when US citizens are saving too much.

Quote
That's important because American spenders make up the majority -- about 70% -- of economic activity in the country. If people don't spend, the economy doesn't grow.

Check it out here

That means the circulation will stop if nobody spend their btc therefore the price might go down. If that continues then people might not be interested anymore so they won't invest in it. I think this is possible to happen if the transaction fees keep on rising because we have fiat which we can freely spend and without any fees to pay in spending.
