Off-topic: How can I include a public message in a transaction??
You can't. The message isn't in the transaction, it's on blockchain.info. So if I carry out a transaction from my Blockchain.info wallet, can I do that? Yes, you can do it only on your blockchain.info wallet. That message is handled only by blockchain.info and the person who receives the payment will not know of the message unless they check blockchain.info i.e: The public message is a third party addition , handled by blockchain.info and not a real part of the transaction. Thanks for the explanation, I understand better now. Case closed.

In a nutshell, the developer is as unhappy as any of us about the 2M DRK he holds; if only there was a truly fair way of distributing those coins. So rather than bitching about the problem that everyone acknowledges, try bringing a viable solution to the table. Or GTFO.
No one holds 2M, not even the dev. Where did you get that idea? The dev quoted this figure in the Airdrop thread. I'll try my bit: Rather than an airdrop, a trusted method would be to merge those coins with next block rewards for a few weeks. This will distribute them to current miners in a truly fair manner and will give everyone a fair chance to mine/own them.
I don't know if current technology allows something like this, but its something to think of.
Just disregarding the fact that there is no "those coins" for a minute.. You are saying that people who didn't want to risk investing in Darkcoin before it was guaranteed to be a success, should now be guaranteed the profits without any risk? No. I'm trying to suggest a better distribution of the coins that were mined at greater than expected pace due to a bug, which was not desirable

imagine you deposit funds into coinbase or BTC-E. instead of withdrawing to someone (an actual bitcoin transaction) you use the exchanges 'balance' transfer features which is just a database representation of holdings to swap balances with another user of that exchange. where coinbase or btc-e do not move actual bitcoins. just a balance change on their users database.
each service calls them something different. such as BTC-E which calls them btc-e codes for instance.
Thanks for the explanation, I understand it better now. Just like a bank 'adjusts' balances between different accounts rather than actually 'transferring' the money. So in order to make this work, both parties (buyer and seller) have to be using the same exchange (for example Coinbase), right?

is there a way for mining BCN with Minergate on windows 2003/32?
Or even on Windows XP? I would be interested as well.

I doubt if you can get a decent ASIC with the price of one GPU, unless you're planning to add some more from your pocket. Even 5-chip Gridseed unit costs more.
You better buy some high-end GPU and put it on X11 coins.

Put some Bitcoins in a wallet, extract the secret key and write it on a piece of paper (tip: fold the paper to keep the key secret). You now have the ability to make an off-blockchain transaction with that piece of paper.
I am aware of this method, but the case in question revolves around merchants accepting payments from their customers and keeping these transactions off-blockchain. That's where my thinking goes into void. AFAIK any actual transactions would have to be related to nodes and miners in order for the transaction to be accepted and included in a block. Hence all transactions must and are publicly visible. I might be interpreting this differently from your question - do you have a link to the article?

I recently read in an article that "Off-Blockchain Transactions" are being popular for Bitcoin; in the sense that these transactions are not visible on public Blockchain ledger.
Can someone explain how these transaction are carried out and what implications they have on Bitcoin's decentralised nature?

Rather than asking which one was better, the interesting question would be 'which one was original and which one was a blatant copy' ?

there are far more important things to discuss than girls mate ,, try focusing on how make this world a better place for our selves and for our future generations ,, If the boys don't focus on the girls there won't be any future generations. OK, but please stop focusing on ASIAN girls at least. If there is any part of the world that needs to reproduce less, it's Asia

Actually updating on this just started experimenting with Pale Moon which is based on the firefox architecture but is its own independent software So will see how it performs and holds out One of the other category If you're into trying out new ones, have a look at Maxthon http://www.maxthon.com/It has many nice features including cloud sync and supports portable installation. If you want your data to be secure, don't put it on the cloud.Totally agree with you. However its upto us what we sync. For example in this case I would sync my Favorites, Settings, Magic Fill data etc across all my devices, which is convenient. But obviously I will not sync my login passwords to cloud.

I've used Firefox and Chrome mostly.
The good thing about Chrome over Firefox is that you don't have to worry about critical updates. Chrome updates itself on the fly and never asks for a restart. I have come a long way from 25 to 34 without even knowing.

Much has been said and discussed about the so-called 'instamine'. And the developer has answered it multiple times, so I wouldn't repeat it.
TLDR: The 'instamine' was due to a bug and was unintended. ('Gravity Well' had not been implemented at that point) The developer tried to rectify the situation by proposing an 'airdrop' which was turned down via community members through a poll
In a nutshell, the developer is as unhappy as any of us about the 2M DRK he holds; if only there was a truly fair way of distributing those coins. So rather than bitching about the problem that everyone acknowledges, try bringing a viable solution to the table. Or GTFO.
